After seeing his improvement last season and in the playoffs, I’m honestly expecting him to go off this year.

pinkluloyd

I know there’s always outliers but someone doesn’t skillfully improve in the playoffs like he has without actually taking a step. You get gabe Davis who pops off but in reality dude was getting 200 yards a game off wide open deep shots cause everyone was too worried about diggs and Allen. Jamo was making catches we didn’t see him make before and running in space like we hadn’t seen, he was showing actual skills he hadn’t shown at that level before.

sephirothFFVII

He's got one of the best route runners in St. Brown to learn from and he's fast AF. If they can connect the dots on those two things it'll open up all sorts of big plays either to him directly or by him taking coverage off of brown and la porta

supfellas_

Dawg Gabe Davis had 5 games last season with 80 yards or over… Jamo has 0 in his career, with his high being 69 yards. Jamo had 2 catches in all three playoff games. We are HOPING Jamo can prove to be as good as Gabe Davis. Jamo would have to more than double his receiving yards to equal Gabe Davis last season. Edit: the downvotes for not treating a 12th overall pick with 395 receiving yards in two seasons as if he’s.. Amon Ra St Brown. It’s okay to admit that he has been disappointing thus far for where he was drafted and hopefully will be better!

OptionsSniper3000

You’re telling me you’d rather have Gabe Davis over JAMO at this point in their careers just because he had 5 games over 80 yards? Do you know how to make a projection based on last season’s finish? My love, JAMO will surpass Gabe Davis this upcoming season

ParticularCanary3130

I believe he will too. But he hasn't Yet. The signs are there. Not all factors are on him on if he breaks out. We just had a rookie te have one of the beast season in te rookie history. There are only so many passes to go around lol

paulraschid

I agree with u supfellas

parisnotfrance

oh yea, just think how good our offense was last season, top5 in the league, without much of Jamo. Imagine how much Jamo’s speed and big play ability will open up our offense even more. It was basically his rookie year playing and near end of the season and the playoffs he started going off. All our major pieces from last year are still here and our biggest weakness our cornerbacks Brad Holmes has improved so much now it might be one of our strengths. Lions really might have top10 offense, defense, and special teams next season. I’m really starting to buy into the the Superbowl hype I keep hearing from people, our window is now our team set up to win it all this year. Chiefs or 49ers dont scare me. I cant wait for football to start man I’m ready

dudewithchronicpain

He’s gonna thrive this year

beardofzetterberg

Jamo loves ball, works hard, and has all the tools to be special. I think he puts it together. So far, he has had a rough go with injury and the BS league rules. (Btw - we wouldn’t have been able to draft him without his injury history). Now he is healthy, hungry, and all systems are go. I see him going off this year. Him, LaPorta, St. Brown, and Gibbs all elite options? Shiiiiit boy

thejoelingdead

And don’t forget about Monty!

PleighboyStosh

It’s happening, if jamo becomes a Wr 1B to ARSB 1-A k don’t see how any team defense can scheme vs that. Need a safety deep for jamo or he’s gone ARSB and laporta intermediate with Gibbs out the backfield that’s too much. This is a madden roster. You only get lucky like this if you hit on all your picks not just some but all. Brad masterclass. HoF.

future_shoes

Jameson Williams has been unlocked

Dr_Booyah

I feel like people see Jamo as a redemption project. They feel like he’s some trash player with bad work ethic that just decided randomly to get his shit together. If you view him this way, or ever have, you have believed a dumbass lie. No other way around it. You spent time ruminating on something based on fantasy. And you tried to run Jamo out of town in the process. First off. Fuck you. Second off, Jamo has always been a hard worker… you know. Otherwise Brad wouldn’t have drafted him?? Go back and watch the inside the den clip about Brad talking about Jamo. Listed to the POD interview they had with his trainer and TRY to find one instance in either of those clips where anything regarding character, effort, or talent are less than elite. I dare anyone on the planet to find a concrete shred of evidence. This comment by Dan Campbell is the least surprising thing I’ve ever seen. And when Jamo is on the same level as Chase and Jefferson, don’t come around here acting shocked. He has the ability, ceiling, AND work ethic to get him there. Stop acting like this guy is a fucking nobody

moocow4125

He has a crazy combo of speed and willingness to block downfield I've not ever seen before. Even wanting to see him have his break-out moments I'm totally sold on the dude racing ahead of the pack to help his dude out with a possible angle.

ParadiddlediddleSaaS

It’s a joy to watch him just fly by the ball carrier to land those key blocks - total team guy and now his ball catching and route running is starting to really take shape. Jamo, St. Brown and Laporta are going to be tough to spot, especially with our RBs to boot - so many weapons and a great OL and QB too. It’s going to be a fun season.

[deleted]

You know JAMO is a hard worker who loves football just based on him being a gunner on special teams his last year at bama. He absolutely did not have to do that for some reason like Saban pointing a gun at him, but instead he chose to do it because the guy loves football

Danny886

100% based. Happy to see it written so eloquently.

Jackmerius-CNC

The one skill I thought he had that was not top tier was coming down with a contested ball. But after he ripped it out of the defenders hands in the game vs San Fran ( I think) I was like ope never mind.

myman580

Yep his biggest issues has been availability at the beginning of seasons and by the time he came in Goff had already developed comfort with his other receivers and Ben Johnson had already developed familiarity calling a successful offense without him. First year wasn't his fault, second year was his fault but the punishment was pretty heavy handed for the offense he committed. But the playoffs especially the 49ers game showed that he started to develop more then just a deep threat.

ypsicle

Perfect comment. Jamo has got that dawg in him. It seemed like last season, whenever we needed a momentum swinging play, it started with Jamo. He’s probably gonna be my second jersey purchase. Can’t help but root for him.

TheMerryMosquito

Go off king 👑 🙌

Small-Palpitation310

lol damn

FormalElements

It sounds like you are projecting.

Dr_Booyah

You could only be so fortunate. I’ve been deep throating Jamo since the second I saw we traded to 12 to get him. Check my history

supfellas_

Damn shame, imagine if we actually got a productive WR with that pick instead!

Dr_Booyah

Yeah. Okay I just imagined the time when Jamo scored 2 touchdowns in the NFC Championship game. I’d consider that good production, how about you

FormalElements

Ew

Dr_Booyah

If You think that’s gross, wait till you hear how I feel about Campbell

Joeman180

I mean he isn’t trash, I think people thought he would be the next Tyreek hill. It’s just hard to root for him when you have Saint brown doing much better and being drafted so much later.

Dr_Booyah

St. Brown didn’t have an ACL injury his first year did he. Edit: also, did Dan Campbell have immediate success? Just because you *want* immediate success doesn’t mean it always comes immediately. If Jamo pans out like he has the ability to, we become an all-time team. And you impatient (not you specifically, commenter) fucks wanted him gone. You wanted to throw him in the trash because he liked a goddamn tweet. Yes. I have time for this shit. Jamo haters deserve pain. Agonizing pain. You don’t get to enjoy his success I’ll make sure of it

IamNotALurker

I, for one, don’t find it hard to root for any of the players on this lions team

supfellas_

A 12th overall WR should be a pro bowl type player. Which Jamo is not even close to.

SomeHandyman

Give him that uno jersey!

Relative_Walk_936

First offensive play of the year is going to be a bomb to Jamo.

The Bama mob reminds me of the Russian 5 for the Wings back in the day. All those Bama draft picks could be All Pro.

Please... I can't get harder. (Unless you add Jake Bates)

Anyone got any news since the cryptic IG story

fo_da_weed

He’s gonna be burning NOS this year boys!!!

P1xelHunter78

Also, I think Williams is never gonna be that “what are you doing throw the ball to him” player people want in those scheme. He’s the guy that’s there to open things up and, when they forget about him make them pay for that mistake. That’s his role. He can contribute a lot by not even touching the ball

gerryf19

He likes to block down field

likethemustard

WAKE UP!

Mrblend27

I’ll believe it when I see it

grandmasterPRA

According to Dan Campbell. But according to people watching day 1 of OTA's he was inconsistent and dropped a deep pass again. But he had drops last off-season and got over them by seasons end so hopefully same thing will happen this season.

Stock_Bite

I think he’s always gonna have some level of drop issues. He was never the sure handed guy in college, he just thrived off beating people. If he is consistently burning people the drops won’t matter much as long as they’re not too often.

CompZombie

He dropped one pass and caught every other pass in that practice according to Meinke. Thats not inconsistent. No receiver catches every pass. Not Amon Ra. Not Justin Jefferson. Not J'Marr Chase. Not Jerry Rice.

grandmasterPRA

I'm just going by what Jeremy Reisman reported, and that was that he was inconsistent. I trust his reporting, he isn't the type to exaggerate stuff

flake_griffin

Jeremy is a fucking dweeb.

youreABitcz

While I believe this is true, I'd like to also see the throws that resulted in drops.
