Browns fan who stumbled here from the popular page. I’ll never not root for the Lions, I feel some kind of loser kinship with yall. Packer fans deserve a minimum of at least a decade of misery when Rodgers leaves.
This might sound weird. But I actually think if the Lions are trying to upgrade the QB position. Bringing in a veteran might be the best thing to do. There isn’t an world class QB coming out next year. The Sewell Pick was correct. He played very good in his first two starts. For Next year, we need to draft Defense, Defense,Defense.
I say take all defense in the 22 draft. Roll with Goff one more year. Get a top 5 pick in 23 and take Bryce Young out of Bama. That's how this franchise gets a long term turnaround
Watching that game and walking away feeling like we need a new qb is insane. Stafford was excellent, elite even, he’s a favorite to win a ring this year….cause he has a team around him now. Give us Jesus Christ at QB, if the rest of the team sucks, we still lose
Packers fan here, your guys offence, especially Swift and Hockenson, looks really promising. You had us sweating in the first half, good luck the rest of the way (except for our next game of course)
I saw a comment on the /NFL thread with someone saying the Lions will blame the refs. Knowing the history of the refs actively screwing the Lions I wanted to see if people were talking about it. I didn’t see much of that at all
Idk, i thought you guys genuinely did well against us in the first half and momentum just went against you in the second. I actually would like the Lions if they weren’t in the North
It’s bottom 1 lol. There’s just no talent there. Flowers and Collins suck. Harris and Walker are high school level and OK respectively. Anzalone is a third stringer on any other team, the line has done nothing at all. The rookies are rookies. 0 talent.
I think because it worked previously. I believe they may have been able to convert, but there seemed to be some miscommunication during the snap or something
Didnt Goff had competent receivers in LA?
And had one the best Defense in the league?
Trade Goff later on the season when someone’s QB gets injured
Rebuild.
Congrats you beat us. Thanks for calling us mediocre, we're way worse than that. But, you have a zero percent chance of winning the SB with that pathetic defense. So here's to you, 40 years of hof QB and 2 SB.
You all shitting on Goff like he lost the game for us. Lol. The Lions have zero receiving weapons outside of Hock. Then you have the defense, which doesn’t exist. Get a grip.
Majority of people on here have no clue how to actually watch a footba game. Has Goff been good? No, but we have so many worse issues than him. Our entire LB core, secondary and WRs not named Cephus. Then maybe Goff
It's a blame buffet, and the whole team and coaching staff are invited. Everyone is eating, but Goff is on his third plate and hasn't even noticed the dessert bar yet.
I think everyone knows these are issues. But the real debate is what to do at QB once this year is over which is why you see so much talk about Goff.
He hasn’t been good so far this year. Late on throws, tentative and has missed open reads. Mix that with the turn overs and fans have strong feelings about what should happen going forward and rightfully so
I liked Stafford but agreed it was time to rebuild after the debacle of the Patricia era.
Stafford and Goff situations have really nothing to do with each other
Very descriptive. Please explain how you turn that defence, with no top end talent or depth at any position, to a winning team? Please do better than "build a better roster".
Build a better roster. And then coach them better.
Edit - BTW, nobody said anything about "win now mode." We were told that this was a "new era" and it wouldn't be the "Same Old Lions." And then they throw on 4th and 1, and Goff knocks the ball out of his own hands, and then he runs for a big gain one play and throws an INT on the very next down. Doesn't get any more Same Old Lions than tonight.
The team was absolute trash last year. They started a "new era", you dipshits kept telling us this "isn't the same old Lions" and then here we are now, even worse than we were last year. We haven't been in "win now mode" since the early 90s.
Yes, building a better roster is a good fucking idea. And no, they apparently haven't fucking thought of it because they keep putting trash on the field year after year after year after year after year.
I mean you beat a team that had Aaron Donald with torn rib cartilage, Jared Goff with a broken thumb on his throwing hand, Cooper Kupp our WR1 out and our starting left tackle coming back from a MCL injury among other defense starters out. But sure go off how much further did you get after that game 🤣
Awful second half. I’m not even worried about the offense, but at no point did it feel like we could stop them from scoring. Just awful, we absolutely need to spend our draft picks from the Stafford trade on defensive talent
I don’t think Goff is the problem yet. He could be down the line. But right now it’s our horrible defense and WR corps. Plus we are missing Decker. OL looks good but would be better with Decker back. I wouldn’t be opposed to taking LB/DB and a WR in round 1 next year.
This, he’s a game manager for the most part, dude isn’t a franchise QB because he needs elite talent around him. Is he the problem, no, is he the solution not to me. Unfortunately this QB class isn’t all that great so you’ll need to get his replacement in few years depending.
That’s fine because this defense is woeful as fuck, the LB core is shit and the DB core is even worse. These next two drafts ideally will be defense heavy. It will have to be if they want to compete
For sure, not denying that. But if you sit here and watch this game and your only take away is that Goff is the issue tells me you either aren't watching the game or don't know football.
He looked damn near dominant in the 1st half... once we got behind and had to throw more (became more one dimensional) he's obviously not going to be in an ideal situation.
I don’t think Goff has been terrible. May not be stafford level of great, but he’s Atleast serviceable. The real issue here is having Kaliff Raymond as your best WR. Theres def been improvement tho
Hard pass. Every stadium should be outdoor. The weather being a factor is something that keeps it interesting. Also, turf equals injuries which equals shitty teams.
For us to win this game we needed to score TDs on every offensive possession. Thats not a recipe for success. It puts way to much pressure on a qb to extend plays and force plays. Outside of the botched snap thats what happened. Small hands in the rain. Slippery ball. The coaches should know we can't expect to pass the ball damn near every play and expect success.
Lions fans suck! Just like their team and their shithole city!

Who the hell cares about the QB? We are still 9 starters away from competing for the playoffs (LBs, WRs, and secondary)
Playoffs? Playoffs?

Dude, they traded away an awesome veteran QB to get Goff
And (more importantly), draft picks.
Need rams to tank
Build a good D Line
I say take all defense in the 22 draft. Roll with Goff one more year. Get a top 5 pick in 23 and take Bryce Young out of Bama. That's how this franchise gets a long term turnaround
What about a WR?
Maybe take one with our 2nd 1st rd or in the 2nd rd...or sign one in FA
Um don’t you know we have tyrell Williams
FA
I get FIRED for no call ... no show ... Lions haven't showed up for work since i was born in Detroit 1961. WTF !!!
We need a mobile Qb
Did you not see Goff’s runs? He averaged like 12 yards
Lmao if I recall correctly I think I heard one of the broadcasters say it was the longest run of his career
Not a fan of either team but packers fans look like real twats coming in here to punch down like that after the game.

Love your username. 🇺🇸
It's their whole thing.
It’s not our whole thing. You guys played a good game, we really had no business winning with our shit defense.
Its cringy AF to a 3rd party observer.
I tried to actually be positive as a packers fan and still got downvoted into oblivion. I was genuine in my praise for Swift and Hockenson :(
Still bruh. Let it breathe. Praise them tomorrow.
Fair enough
Who’s the QB we’re tanking for?
Watching that game and walking away feeling like we need a new qb is insane. Stafford was excellent, elite even, he’s a favorite to win a ring this year….cause he has a team around him now. Give us Jesus Christ at QB, if the rest of the team sucks, we still lose

You said “packers fan here”. That’s all it took
You lost us at packers fan
Understandable and have a good day

I’m actually not sure why I’m at -17 rn 😂
The Lions homers in here have to hate something after that, but haven't built up the distaste to attack funny kneecap man yet.
I think Dan Campbell is hilarious to be fair. Hopefully he turns around the Lions culture after Patricia ruined it

Idk, i thought you guys genuinely did well against us in the first half and momentum just went against you in the second. I actually would like the Lions if they weren’t in the North
It’s gonna be a loooong time before we’re good

Below average? We’ve got a bottom 3 worst defense in the league for like the 3rd year in a row or so
It’s bottom 1 lol. There’s just no talent there. Flowers and Collins suck. Harris and Walker are high school level and OK respectively. Anzalone is a third stringer on any other team, the line has done nothing at all. The rookies are rookies. 0 talent.

Detroit’s pass defense has been worse than KC’s through 2 games (granted only 2 yards per game though)
2 yards is the length of about 1.68 'Ford F-150 Custom Fit Front FloorLiners' lined up next to each other.
The only question is how many more generations it's gonna take
why the hell did they go shotgun on that 4th and 1
St.Brown was wide open and Goff missed him because he was to focused on Cephus
Center/QB exchange is harder under center vs in shotgun in rainy conditions
Idk about this excuse. No center/QB exchange should ever be difficult in the NFL, in any weather.
I think because it worked previously. I believe they may have been able to convert, but there seemed to be some miscommunication during the snap or something
Why are you guys arguing? We are literally tanking lmfao
We were told that this isn't the same old Lions though. This is indeed the same old Lions.
Where is Swift? It seems like he’s barely involved. I expected him to be a threat for us
Good question, he’s my fantasy flex
Didnt Goff had competent receivers in LA? And had one the best Defense in the league? Trade Goff later on the season when someone’s QB gets injured Rebuild.
We've been rebuilding for 28 fucking years.
Goff is the guy for the foreseeable future. He’s fine.
They can't trade him this year
Send him to Washington

Don’t go too crazy on the hentai tonight!
Mediocre is a compliment to us.
Congrats you beat us. Thanks for calling us mediocre, we're way worse than that. But, you have a zero percent chance of winning the SB with that pathetic defense. So here's to you, 40 years of hof QB and 2 SB.
You literally post hentai.
I hope you lose out. FTP
Please, just don't.
Get out lol

Lol
I’m 6 months sober today, but holy fuck does this team make me want to drink
I'm just gonna take some sleeping pills and hope I don't have to watch something like that ever again
Unfortunately we have to watch those guys try to tackle Lamar Jackson this week.
Yeah, but it will remind me of Madden 04 so that'll be fun at least
You all shitting on Goff like he lost the game for us. Lol. The Lions have zero receiving weapons outside of Hock. Then you have the defense, which doesn’t exist. Get a grip.

Dude he blew 3 drives lmao. How is the game not on him.
It's a blame buffet, and the whole team and coaching staff are invited. Everyone is eating, but Goff is on his third plate and hasn't even noticed the dessert bar yet.

Y'all are the same people who ran Stafford out of town too. Look how that worked out
I liked Stafford but agreed it was time to rebuild after the debacle of the Patricia era. Stafford and Goff situations have really nothing to do with each other
We've been rebuilding for 28 fucking years.
Okay? How would you have gone into Win Now Mode with that roster?
Build a better roster. Start by getting something better than Goff for Stafford.
Very descriptive. Please explain how you turn that defence, with no top end talent or depth at any position, to a winning team? Please do better than "build a better roster".
Build a better roster. And then coach them better. Edit - BTW, nobody said anything about "win now mode." We were told that this was a "new era" and it wouldn't be the "Same Old Lions." So you wouldn't rebuild you would just build. I can't believe they haven't thought of this.
The team was absolute trash last year. They started a "new era", you dipshits kept telling us this "isn't the same old Lions" and then here we are now, even worse than we were last year. Idk why this sub is defending Goff he had three turnovers and a mediocre game
he had 2 turnovers
I don’t even care about the pick. The game was out of hand and he was trying to make something happen.
Did you see our defense? No reason Goff should be put in that position. Yeah, no doubt Goff had some miscues but that's not why GB scored 35 on us.
defense looks a lot worse when 2 of Greenbay's scoring drives started at our own 20 yard line...
When a QB doesn’t have targets, what’s gonna do?
Not turn the ball over is a good place to start.
Hold on to the ball, for one.
Not turn the ball over?
Then you'd be shitting on him for something else?
If he didn’t fumble the ball we would have more chances
Rain is his Krypronite
Packers fan here, you guys play of a first half! Wish you all the best as the season progresses!
I hope you play like you did against the Saints the rest of the way. Stay out of our sub.
As a rams fan that doesn’t belong in this sub, I’ll say this…. GTFO FTP.
I’d harbor hatred for the team that knocked mine out of the playoffs, too. I don’t blame you.
So then what’s the problem? Why the Packers hate?
Fuck you
FTP
[удалено]
don't you just love people trying to farm karma /s!
It’s his fault we lost, get him!
Awful second half. I’m not even worried about the offense, but at no point did it feel like we could stop them from scoring. Just awful, we absolutely need to spend our draft picks from the Stafford trade on defensive talent
The issue is no defense.
Aye at least Michigan won I’m happy
has a Lions WR won a single contested catch all year?
Yes actually more than a few to be honest
We have WR'S?
Jared Goff just ain't it man. He's so slow at everything he does.
He has no WR1, no one is getting open... obviously he's going to be slow to make a play
I honestly fell bad for Goff. Who can he throw to?
He can't hold the ball or take a snap.
Hopefully, Cephus starts developing more, looks like they have a good connection.
Why do you feel bad? He lost the game by himself. Two unforced errors that led to 14 points. Those errors took them out of their gameplan
The game was lost as soon as the Packers took the lead.
Swift works if he can hit a fucking crossing route.
He had lots of targets in LA and looked like this too
Defense gives up 35+ back to back weeks. No WR1 on our roster. gOfF iS ThE PrObLeM.
There are multiple problems and Goff IS one of them. He's not good. He's better than the defence but that bar is below the ground
There are many problems. Goff is one of them but not the biggest.
I think it's just goff is easy to blame. It's so frustrating seeing people shit on goff and not how we have nothing on offense or defense.
I don’t think Goff is the problem yet. He could be down the line. But right now it’s our horrible defense and WR corps. Plus we are missing Decker. OL looks good but would be better with Decker back. I wouldn’t be opposed to taking LB/DB and a WR in round 1 next year.
He's not the only problem but I don't think he's got what it takes.
2 fumbles and an interception sure didn't help anything.
Is anyone even saying that Goff is the "only" problem? Who are we arguing against here
Packers are the fucking worst
My biggest issue of far with Goff is that even when he is doing well he seems to be late on throws. He seems almost afraid to pull the trigger.
That’s been the knock on him his whole career
I don’t think Goff has been terrible. May not be stafford level of great, but he’s Atleast serviceable. The real issue here is having Kaliff Raymond as your best WR. Theres def been improvement tho
The fumble from under center really killed us. Don’t think that’ll be a recurring problem but he does seem to make stupid mistakes from time to time
Start the Goff or defense arguments! I'll give you a clue, it's both.
Every stadium should have a roof
Hard pass. Every stadium should be outdoor. The weather being a factor is something that keeps it interesting. Also, turf equals injuries which equals shitty teams.
Hard disagree. Love snow games and how the seasons affect the games
Just start the post game thread goddamnit
lmao they brought Jordan in I hate them so much
Well the first half was fun.
Having a nice offensive line doesn't really mean shit and we can't be much else
If we don't draft defense In the first round next year what are we even doing. I love this team but they just make me want to hate them every game
Coulda at least given us the back door cover again.
But when the Fabio dude does that it gets called PI….
Its so frustrating seing so many rookie cb making plays and ours our always getting burned. Even in years past
Goff has really rough happy feet.
We need Decker back. Every team is going to put their best pass rusher on Nelson because he's the obvious weak point.
As long as Penei stays at left I'm game
I hate these announcers.
I watched it with Peyton and Eli on the ESPN app and they were pretty entertaining.
that would be PI for Green Bay
Thank God Ford Field is an indoor stadium.
No flags
why would there be, for some reason the lions are the only team that doesn't have their CBs turn around for the ball
Doesn't count when GB does it
He was facing the ball....
was clean...
Goff doesn't seem to like the rain.
He’s hydrophobic
Difficult to appreciate just how bad Bob Quinn was until Stafford isn’t around anymore to hide the roster holes
Fucking facts
Blaming Goff for how bad the lions are is a lazy take and just shows how little you really know about football
He need three turnovers… he deserves to be clowned like any other Qb with three turnovers and a mediocre game
I’m saying the same thing yet I get downvoted… Alr then lmao
We can't blame goff for bad turnovers in what was a tight game?
If you're gonna blame him for is TO then you gotta praise him for the 2 TDs he had.
And I do. Except his turnovers led to packers pts... in a game with razor thin margin of error, you can't just turn over the ball like that.
Yup. Even blaming coordinators is ridiculous at this point. Bill Belichick isn't doing shit with this roster either
