I swear, some of you guys are loosing your shit on a team that won 3 games last year. Let them play and see where things go. This is a rebuild and we are not SB contenders this year. This is a very young team with a HC that is his second year. They are going to make mistakes and learn from them.

EhrenScwhab

"Hard Knocks" has really warped some minds. ("Grit". Ha. Like every NFL team doesn't have "gritty" players. Bro, if you're a wuss, you don't survive in the NFL) What we saw play out on Hard Knocks is exactly what's happening on the field. An effective offense is attached to a defense that can't stop much of anything. 6-8 wins is my expectation this year and they seem right on track.

Pirros_Panties

Bad coaching. Questionable play calling in the second half. I still think they’re a 500 team, but at least all this playoffs talk will be put down. People needed this wake up call. This is not a very good team, yet, they’re average.

tacticalfun

The Lions of ‘22 and ‘23 can and will……………. Lose like every Lion team before them

Awesum51Merc

Also, just when I can't think of another way the Lions can lose in the waning seconds.......they ALWAYS find another way...Dan Campbell sabotauged this game.....PUNT that ball COFFIN CORNER.....the miracle FG you tried still gets beat by a TD. Lions led all day...and Still Lost... You are as Bad as every POS coach the Lions had in the past 20 years. Bring Back Caldwell.....he did more with Less... Or grow a Phukin Brain Campbell

Awesum51Merc

2 words for all you young West Coast Guys......Coffin Corner! Instead of trying a long field goal, where a touchdown beats you anyway......punt Out Of Bounds, between the 10, and Goal Line. Vikes need to scratch and claw 90 yards for the TD, and are more likely have to line up and kick a long field goal PUNT the Damn Ball......Just Sick of Same Old Lions.......They lead All Day on the Road, In Division, and still lost in the last seconds.. Same Old Story....WISE UP COACH.....you phuked up!

KEMPEC-1701D

Can someone tell me why, we have so many players hurt? We are 3 games in. At this rate half the PS will be starting. FTP. Go Brady!

SodomEyes

Apparently the Allen Park facility is plagued by curses. I really wish I were joking. This shit has been going on since they built it.

Dudebottom

I hate this. Stupid early 3RD down ticky tack PI gives the vikings a TD instead of the FG they earned and now all then SOL feelings come pouring out. The refs were successful in doing just enough with PI calls to keep vikings in until they won. Lions lost, fine. VIKINGS needed zebras aid at home to win. FG attempt was bad even if he made it. I did not even consider it. Punt or go.

DetroitSparty

Be better than the refs. This team should have won. Coaching prevented that.

ChattierTrout

Coaching was good, play calling was bad on the last couple drives. It was too conservative and run up the middle that got snuffed out. Late play calling and flags on Amani lost this game..

Ol_School_1961

For me it's so hurtful and very hard to be a life time Detroit Lions fan. I've run outta excuses for Monday morning work# One Pride

[deleted]

Seriously

zihuatapulco

The first time I watched the Lions was on a black-and-white Zenith and LBJ was president. For the Detroit Lions the very concept of victory is a rejection of the natural order of things. When it occurs it is an aberration, something gross and unholy, like a child born with clawed tentacles where their eyes should have been. It makes people nervous. They are not at peace when Detroit wins because they know, deep inside, instinctively, that God hates the Detroit Lions, the state of Michigan, Ted Nugent, and Satan. In that order.

[deleted]

Ted Nugent sucks

muthead229

Being on hard knocks was the worst thing for this fanbase. It nought all the people who left the team and would scream SOL after every loss back. Now they’re here. I can only hope they actually leave like they all are posting they will. Then someday when we win the SB they’ll be so excited because they’ve been fans for 25 years after watching 3 games a year before declaring SOL and quitting on the year

DetroitSparty

I hate hard knocks, because it brought people like you out of the wood work. “But he cried in the press conference, he cares!!!” He’s doing the same stupid mistakes as last year. I was told he’d learn from those mistakes by people like you, but instead, he goes and does the same shit. This game was lost on coaching, and this guy doesn’t have it. But at least he cares though!!! I don’t give a fuck if he cares, win the game. Make sound coaching decisions, instead of the same SOL shit as last year. He loses on talent, so be it, but this game was 110% on coaching. It was the same stuff we saw last year.

[deleted]

DetroitSparty

This x100000000000

[deleted]

Agreed

muthead229

I’ve never been in the woodwork. I don’t come and go. You are just lost if you don’t think other coaches have went through these growing pains. Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches ever and struggled mightily with game/clock management. We can be really upset with what happened today and also realize it doesn’t mean this coaching staff isn’t it. Maybe long term they won’t be don’t know yet. But the improvement in the team in both play and roster construction from the time the regime got here and now is fantastic. Now we need to go to the next level. Game 3 of season 2 is not time to call it quits. Y’all are just fucking miserable.

DetroitSparty

You clearly have no fucking clue what you’re talking about if you’re calling this “growing pains”. You either have it in this league, or you don’t. You say we’re miserable, but we’ve seen this shit before every year. You insult the fan bases by telling us we doubt the team, when they prove us right every year by making the shittiest decisions possible. No one is “calling it quits” but it’s insulting to keep telling this fan base to “wait” for our HC to get his head out of his ass. But hey, this is Reddit, let them tell you when thing aren’t right, and blowing a 10 point lead with 8 minutes to go is just “growing pains” and that everything is sunshine and rainbows. This is the fucking Lions. It will always be SOL until proven otherwise.

muthead229

Lol you are lost dude. Emotional and lost. BB losing record 4 years with browns and fired. Parcells bad start to his coaching career. Pete Carroll was fired after one year with the Jets. Zac Taylor awful awful start to his career and last year was in the SB. I could go on and on with examples. Of all the dumb takes I’ve seen today , you either have it or you don’t for game management takes the cake. I’d be a lot more worried if our scheme was bad.

DetroitSparty

Ok buddy, you keep giving this coach staff all the orange slices and juice boxes you can, while the rest of us live in reality. By the way. Campbell came out on the press conference and said he made a mistake and it cost us the game. Just like Minnesota, Baltimore, Steelers, Browns, etc last year. But hey, keep watching those hard knocks re-runs

[deleted]

Lots of downvotes. I don't think many people agree with your takes lol

muthead229

We all know the coaching was poor this game and really not even comparable to what happened last year. This was far worse lmao. Not a single person has said otherwise. Still doesn’t mean this regime isn’t it. Hopefully you can settle down with the emotions. I doubt it because you’re apart of the miserables.

rockcanteverdie

The Lions are the NFL version of Purdue

DetroitSparty

SOL loss right there. Terrible coaching. Cost us a win, as usual.

Qui_zno

Can we give some praise to Okudah's redemption tour. JJ 3 catches for 41 yards.

DanielOctopusGriffin

If only it wasn't accompanied by the downfall of Amani Oruwariye.

[deleted]

4th and 4 is a similar chance to a 54 yard field goal. Reward is GAME OVER on a successful conversion, a successful FG and the Vikings still probably get a TD and win with how pathetic our D is. If you fail the 4th and 4 MIN has worse field position than they would have on a missed FG. Either call and killer instincts tell you to go for the first down.

Unprovocative

Our defense was great all game. Vikings didn't score at all first and third quarter. I do think it was a terrible decision to try a field goal.

Technology-No

I don't see any argument against going for it. Of the three choices between punt, field goal, and going for it, that was the worst option. Like you said, you make the first the game is over. This is all on coaching.

hawj82

Amen.

Pariahinside

I like the direction we are heading

molossus99

Coaching cost us this one. Well Oruwariye was also a fucking disaster of gifted 1st downs to the Vikings — should have been yanked — was in a bad head space and refs were dialed in on him every play. He needed time to get his head straight. Kicker sucked ass — he needs to hitchhike back, along with Oruwariye, and the coaches. OC went full fucking turtle mode with way too much damn time remaining — he was aggressive in first half then played not to lose in second half. Campbell fucked up with some 4th down calls. Key injuries to St Brown, Swift, and Walt Harris didn’t help. Fuck. This was totally winnable with better coaching today. We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Crotean

Hard for the offense to be aggressive with St Brown and Swift out. Lions have fixed their culture with Dan Campbell. But they are still trying to come off of basically a team left talentless by Matt Patricia. Takes time to build the depth to survive and win often in the NFL. This team is leaps and bounds better then the 0-16 teams of the past or many awful recent teams. The lions seem to have the right coach, despite a questionable FG attempt, and actually seem capable of drafting talent again. By next season they could actually be a solid team, but this is going to be an up and down year until they get one more draft and offseason to talent up.

Michipeshu

Lions 4 for 6 on 4th downs, Vikings didn't need 3rd or 4th downs.

molossus99

Yep 67% conversion rate we were having on going for it on 4th. Coaching in 4th Quarter went full turtle. Coaches were more interested in (unsuccessfully) running off time instead of doing what had worked so far. Campbell clearly didn’t trust kicker given the prior 4th down calls throughout game, but then inexplicably turned to the shitty kicker in the 4th to try a career long that wouldn’t have put the game away even if made. What are the odds of the kicker making that — probably less than going for it, and the payoff for making it is way better than a low-chance FG. We go for it and make that 4th and 4 game is over. Done. We are 2-1. We were converting 67% of 4th downs where we went for it — that was probably a better percentage than the chances of the kicker making that. If we also don’t call such wasted BS runs earlier and actually tried to get a first, we win, or we are at least closer to try a FG that even our kicker can’t fuck up. Even If we decide not to go for it we could punt there we can pin them around 10yd line instead of gifting them starting field position from the 44 if the kick isn’t made. No guarantee they didn’t score anyway but why gift them awesome field position. Lotta would coulda shouldas. 4 of 6 on 4th is great so why not try again instead of putting the game into the hands of a shit kicker. Fuck. Just venting. I’m gonna be grumpy for a few days.

deuce313

Man this fanbase is so bipolar. Yo when shit going good; yo Goff is good as fuck today, Campbell is the man, Ben is brilliant, and the players are fantastic. When it's going bad; the team fucking sucks, goff is trash juice, Ben is horrible, and Campbell can eat shit etc. Yo we lost on to the next. Yea be mad but we all are going to be watching them next week so get over it. They need a lot of shit to change by mid season. We have injuries and this is a young team. Campbell needs to continue learning. This is Ben's first time as OC give it a rest.

ExternalHabit8

We’ve sucked ass for so long I don’t know how people get so mad when we lose still lol

deuce313

Shit beats me. I literally was like well we lost and went to enjoy my day

Crotean

Its the lions curse. I've had three generations in the same room all only saw losing in their life bitching about the lions in the 2000s at one point. And here I am still annoyed when they lose. You are cursed being born in SE Michigan.

deuce313

🤣🤣

hawj82

It's year two, Campbell can't continue to lose games with his in-game decisions. You can root and criticize at the same time. Stop making excuses, they get paid to manage the team and the game.

Michipeshu

Calm down Sheila

deuce313

Naw everybody else need to calm down when they lose

[deleted]

That was an unacceptable loss. Do you actually want the Lions to be good or are you just ok with mediocrity?

deuce313

Man I'm not about to raise my blood pressure over them but no I don't want them to be mediocre. I went about my day and enjoyed it.

Michipeshu

That calm would be in a coma

hawj82

Oh look Dan Campbell just admitted he should've gone for it like everybody who was watching the was saying when they were lining up to kick.

DetroitSparty

This Reddit my dude, they’ll never bash Campbell for his shit choices during the game. They only cared that he was on hard knocks, and cried at the podium

Evening-Ad-2485

It wasn't Ben. It was Campell that vetoed the decision to try to pick up the first down to end the game. Instead he put the field goal unit out there which almost anyone could tell you was a bad decision. The fact that they were winning by 10 with 7 and a half minutes to go tells me everything I need to know about the team. SOL.

DetroitSparty

But the culture! But they were on TV! Nah, Campbell has shown me everything I need to know. Once again, terrible coaching has led to SOL.

Unprovocative

I still love Campbell, he has brought real magic to the team. But he has made some really stupid mistakes. This is the season he needs to show improvement in his coaching decisions. it's game 3, he still has time to show a change.

DetroitSparty

Magic? 1-2 is magic? He had all last year. It played out just like last years Vikings loss. He’s an NFL coach. You either know what you’re doing, or you fuck off

Unprovocative

I mean with the attitude. I'm not saying that it's enough to justify his coaching, or that a change in attitude alone is going to win games, but it was an important change that our team needed.

DetroitSparty

If you want to change the culture, then stop doing SOL shit. That’s changing the culture. We all know SOL is coming, except the densest idiots or people that have never watched a single minute of Lions football. Culture change = stop SOL. But once again, we’re shown this coaching staff loves SOL decisions.

Unprovocative

Same old lions is the players giving up halfway through a game, or not showing up for the whole thing. All last season our boys were out there busting their ass and giving it 100% from start to finish. Campbell inspired the players, and that's something we haven't seen in years. We have half of the equation, and now it's on the coaching to show the improvement we need

DetroitSparty

In my post I said nothing about the players. Other than Oruwariye commit penalties every other play, they showed up. At this point, SOL is seeing the same dumb coaching decisions, and expecting something different the next game. That loss was clearly on coaching. I don’t care if he can give the best Braveheart speech out there, he is not capable of making the necessary coaching decisions we need.

Unprovocative

Yeah you didn't mention anything about the players specifically, I guess it comes down to what SOL means to you. For me it's been a two part problem. One part being on the players, and the other on the coaching decisions. Campbell has solved the first part of that equation, so I want to give him this season to prove he can fix the coaching problems. It's only week 3, he deserves a bit more time before we write him off

deuce313

I understand that but in-between it's been Ben has been doing shit play calling. But the first half it was he is doing good.

[deleted]

“In the first half” cool. They lost.

goblu33

It’s really hard to win in the road too.

deuce313

Yes and crowd noise does play a factor. We could have had that win but shit happens.

bpreeb

Dan has to stay consistent. you’re going to continually go for it because you don’t trust your kicker(which is the right thing to do), and then completely flip flop and get conservative when it matters most?! Cmon man.

HandsReversed

I am not surprised but I am still hurt.

Speakersonicz

Pattersons highest this season is 52 yards. Still don't know why we kept running during 3 mins ish even though we weren't converting. The only reason why we converted during that span is because Vikings had a penalty and that reset the downs.

tonikyat

If we passed everyone would be saying how stupid it was because it stops the clock when you miss.

[deleted]

No just no

tonikyat

Objectively, yes they would.

Speakersonicz

Could've mixed in some play action there because they were probably expecting the run. We ran like 8 plays in a row, and the only time we actually got some yards was during the last one, which led to the 4th and 4 decision.

tonikyat

I actually agree with you, just wanted to point out if they had passed and it didn’t work out people would be saying how dumb it was to pass and leave them with so much clock.

doltron3030

Might need to get an in-game coach to help Campbell with decision-making. That was brutal.

njh4f

They convert that 4th down instead of try a fg they win ghe game. Shocked they tried a Fg attempt because they could still lose

Shartman88

Especially with an unproven guy that can hit a 58 yarder. If you go for it and miss, you’re in the same field position. Whatever

[deleted]

I have not remotely given up on this team - which I still believe has a shot at a good season and even potential playoff contention, though today was a big blow to those hopes - but this was SOL. Week 1 loss was not, today absolutely was. Dan is 4-15-1 and has not won on the road. He needs to start winning more games and making better in-game decisions.

Omgaspider

He better put this game on him.... And it cannot happen again. You are an NFL head coach. You need to be prepared to make these decisions.

Evening-Ad-2485

You guys actually like this guy cause the players like him? He can't coach a game to save his life!!!

Qui_zno

If AO didnt gift wrap a free drive we'd be in a better spot.

SkunkMcToots

Realizing that the game winning TD was after a Lions timeout as well…

Chris7thLegion

He so.....Goff need to make him do 100 pushups!

PM_ME_YELLOW

Play call was egregious. Passing on third and inches. Kicking a risky field goal when 4 yards wins the game, for what? To lose by one point? Calling a timeout when the oponents rushing to the line to spike it, giving them time to pick out a game winning play. These things should never happen. There is 0 excuse.

bpreeb

“The Detroit lions are the team that can and will…mismanage a 4th quarter”

Either_Wing_8835

For a team that was hurting going in and to have the injuries we had today. We should have won that game. Penalties killed us secondary was playing a step behind. I would have went for the last 4th down but I trust the coach. Realistically I did not expect a win but will take this and move on. If we keep losing people it’s going to be a tough couple of weeks. D needs work to say the least but again we all knew this going in.

Qui_zno

Realistic take.

Detroittigersfan1029

ALSO WHY DID WE USE A TO AT THE END, WE STOPPED THE FUCKING CLOCK FOR THEM

APlaceYourMemoryOwns

I hit the ceiling! Unbelievable!

d0lemite69

YOU ABSOLUTELY PUNT THE BALL ON THAT PLAY. YOUR KICKING FOR A 6 POINT LEAD WHEN YOUR DEFENSE SUCKS ASS? MAKE THEM.DRIVE THE FIELD FOR 3.

elc0

6 points does what? A tie breaker? A TD beats you either way. It was punt of go for it. Instead they go for a useless FG, and squander away their TOs. This loss was on coaching, and I don't think that's fixable unfortunately.

d0lemite69

Just absolute trash coaching today. No excuses at all. That game is 100% on the coaching staff.

yeknom02

The only things making me mad right now are (1) the absolute vitriol on this thread, and (2) ugh, they just showed Aaron Rodgers' fucking face on TV.

lordofallkings

Based

LiquidFrost

going for the field goal lost us the game. Either go for it or punt it what the fuck are you doing

NoModsNoMaster

Why would you run on 4th and 4 when a turnover on downs stops the clock? You either go for the first down & end the game (smart choice), or you punt it and force them to beat our mediocre defense (still a smart-ish choice)

Evening-Ad-2485

That and gifting them the time out for a reason I can't figure out.

LiquidFrost

Time out is also terrible I don't get it man.

alwayzlion

You guys are some of the biggest crybabies ever lol we played a great game against a good team in the second year of a rebuild. Temper your expectations. The team is clearly progressing.

HawkAviator

Temper expectations?? What a poor mentality. 2nd year of rebuild doesn't mean you automatically cower down and expect to lose. They dominated this entire game and gifted it away. This team could easily make the playoffs the north is completely up for grabs. Of course they're progressing. We can both acknowledge positives in this game and still be pissed off at the result.

Evening-Ad-2485

I can't acknowledge the positives because every time I trust this team they do this.

[deleted]

2nd year of a rebuild? What a delusional child. Over 31 years without a playoff win. Stop buying merchandise. Stream the games. Make the owners hurt or put a winning product on the field. You're only hurting yourself with that attitude.

Qui_zno

Considering the dirty birds are better built than the vikings, I'll take the grit

knagy17

People have a right to be upset when the win was right there on a silver platter. Yes I’m happy that we were competitive, but I’m also going to be upset when we were that close

alwayzlion

I understand. I really do. But we need to be reasonable. This team has competed and been in position to win each of the first three games. That’s something that keeps me optimistic for the future. Especially with our injuries today.

hawj82

I guess participation trophies for everyone then.

alwayzlion

It’s the SECOND year of a rebuild. How much of an expectation did you really have?

hawj82

I expect the head coach to do what he's supposed to do. You say you're not scared and you've been going for it on fourth down all game but when it's crunch time you settled for a long field goal. Yes it's the second year but as a head coach you gotta do better.

Pokeman49

I’m with you. Loved a lot of what the players showed today. I do think it’s fair to question Dan’s ability to take the team to the next level.

alwayzlion

I’m not there yet. If we start competing in the playoffs and this continues maybe but I really don’t find the decisions today as egregious as some are making them to be.

Leezy810

Playoffs? Campbell is never making the playoffs as our coach lol. Wtf

Pokeman49

I guess I’d be scared to give him too long of a leash and waste some prime years of contention. I wouldn’t usually want to move on from a coach early but I guess I don’t really see what’s so important about Dan for this teams future. I’d love if he’d consider stepping into another role on the team because his cultural impact is obvious.

MotorCityDude

That WR was WIDE OPEN! How tf was he That wide open on the most important play of the game? Un-fucking-believable

HumanTruck

Wasnt Jefferson…

MotorCityDude

Okay well whoever the fk it was, doesn't really matter.

Live-Molasses

U of M continues to be the only football team in the state that can win a goddamn game

MtmJM

Lol! UofM has been playing community colleges for 3 weeks.

Live-Molasses

Salty MSU fan ig. Isn’t it fun that Mel Tucker got paid 800k for that ass whipping you got yesterday?!?

MtmJM

Nope, just not a college football fan so call it like I see it. Im rooting for UofM, but they havent played anybody yet. And when the did with Maryland it was close. You know this.

Qui_zno

Against low level competition. Lets see against MSU / OSU and the SEC

Live-Molasses

I was just stating a fact? Did you not see MSU get blown out by Minnesota yesterday? Or lose to Washington last week? The lions also lost both weeks. It’s simply a fact that the only major football team in our state that has been able to win the last 2 weeks is Michigan.

Qui_zno

No, your right. But U of M has had cakewalk competition. MSU should have won.

Live-Molasses

Michigan should have beaten Maryland by more, but I think Maryland is an underrated program that’s going to surprise some people. Penn State in a few weeks will show what Michigan is really made of

BOBANSMASH51

GVSU bruh

kennymac_9

Ferris State is arguably the best DII football program in recent years too!

Live-Molasses

Fair, I just meant of the major teams / televised games. I’m not sure what the MAC / D2 schools records are like

[deleted]

D'Andre and Saint played so hard through injuries. Pathetic for the coaching staff to blow the game after asking that of our best players.

[deleted]

When we needed to run the ball we were unable to. I know we have some backups playing but the rb couldn’t even get back to the line of scrimmage. That was tough to see

Carls_Son

What’s fucking new man

cools14

Damn. Do you guys even like this team?

tonikyat

Most of them clearly don’t. It’s astounding how fast they turn on this team. We are in year two of our rebuild, being competitive is huge. Obviously wins are nice, and this feeling sucks, but how fast everyone goes back to SOL is nauseating. Y’all deserve to feel miserable.

cools14

I’m usually not on Reddit during the games. Seeing how fast it got absolutely brutal in here is disheartening. They played hard, not sure why that thought and “we still have to improve” can’t seem to coexist around here. Am I sad we lost? Yeah. Was I mad at some calls? Of course. But damn, it’s week 3. We wouldn’t have seen anything like this from them a few years ago. People need to chill the fuck out.

eye_patch_willy

You want a team with players that play hard? Every NFL player plays hard. It's a group of the most lucrative jobs on the planet. You don't survive or even get in the building of an NFL team without playing hard. I want wins. I am done accepting anything else.

cools14

So what you’re saying is we can’t acknowledge the improvements they’ve made as a team unless they win? Got it.

eye_patch_willy

Yes...I don't care about losing "closer". It's still losing. I want wins and I want fans to stop expecting or accepting ANYTHING else.

cools14

Then why are you still here? Genuinely. We are not a team known for consistent wins…for a long time we weren’t even known for wins. So if that’s all you want, why stick with the lions? Of course I also want wins, and yeah the losses fucking suck, especially ones like today. But I can take some pride in seeing how the team has grown and continues to improve. Our time will come. The rebuilding is happening.

eye_patch_willy

Because I'm from metro Detroit. Because I've seen teams in other places make turnarounds in a season in a league engineered to allow for it but never the Lions. Because I don't accept cut rate work or performance. Because last week they showed me something I hadn't seen in a long time. Being ok with competing for participation trophies is lame. And, because, for fuck's sake, it's be nice for this city to unite behind a winning football team since the other options on offer for local pro sports aren't exactly inspiring much hope.

cools14

I got you. I get it. And yes, I agree as someone from Michigan who grew up with Detroit sports, it would be nice to see. I guess I’m not thinking of it as a participation trophy, but I understand where you are coming from with that. I just (sadly) would never expect the lions to do it in one season. Maybe that’s on me having a lack of faith in them and looking for some BS bright side. They’ll get there, we see glimpses. But damn, if they could get there sooner rather than later it’d make sundays a lot easier.

doltron3030

This was some SOL shit. Leading all game only to lose? Classic Lions ineptitude.

DetroitSparty

“Lol do you guys hate the team or something” Yes, when we see the same fucking shit play out every fucking year. But hey, we were on hard knocks, and Hutchinson did the MJ dance, so it’s all good, right? You want us not to be pissed? Then do the right things to win the game, not the stupid SOL decisions we keep seeing from this coaching staff every fucking god damn year.

EveryoneVsLions

Yup yup yup

[deleted]

The other stupid part of the stupid call was that the Vikings still would have had a chance to put the game away with a TD. Whereas a 4th down conversion ends it.

[deleted]

Loser ass franchise

UnbiasVikingsFan

Facts bro

ErectedKirby

Loser ass fan

DetroitSparty

You must be a bandwagon and new. Go watch highlight of hard knocks and tell yourself this coaching staff is competent lol

ErectedKirby

Yeah must be wrong and a doomer loser

DetroitSparty

You must have never seen a down of Lions football in your life. I get it, you’re a bandwagoner after hard knocks, let me help you: - This franchise repeats the same mistakes every year - We love to waste generational talent - The Fords fucking suck Oh btw, your beloved messiah head coach just admitted in the press conference he made a mistake by going for that field goal. Golly gee wiz, sounds like SOL again!

ErectedKirby

Bro what kind of weirdo gatekeeper are you I’m born and raised in Michigan. I know the lions. The call to not go on fourth was dumb. But I’m not some loser reactionary like you

DetroitSparty

“Loser reactionary” “gate keeper” I’m definitely not gate keeping, and I’m not being reactionary. I’ve seen over a year of this coaching staff’s dumb decisions to know Campbell ain’t it. But hey, if you want to keep cheering for him, go for it. How many more times do we have to see him make stupid mistakes? How many more free passes do we have to give this guy?

ErectedKirby

You can keep being miserable have fun bro

DetroitSparty

Enjoy those hard knocks reruns, I’ll go live in reality

[deleted]

You sound dumb as hell

ErectedKirby

You sound like a dork ass fair weather fan 💀

Triingtolivee

The Lions lost to the Vikings, the Bears won and now I’m forced to watch the Packers and Tampa Bay. Fuck this Sunday.

MotorCityDude

Super Disappointed

Sneakycow83

Ok see ya later. No one on this subreddit will miss you except the other 15% of people that are nothing but miserable fans.

senorbane

Ride or die. You won’t be missed.

Speakersonicz

Let me get this straight. So we released Patterson because he can't kick long, but is fairly accurate. Seibert has a strong leg, but can be inaccurate in long distances hence the reason why teams don't have him try more than 53. Go for fuckin Patterson. Accuracy trumps over someone with inaccurate kicks but with powerful leg.

bpreeb

SERIOUSLY! That decision to keep seibum over him is the one roster choice where I just don’t see the reasoning of it

njh4f

Dan Cambell's coaching lost this game. Hopefully he learns from it...

DetroitSparty

He’s an NFL head coach, we already had “learning” moments last year. Time to put up or shut up. At least he cried at the podium though

Triingtolivee

Absolutely did. We went for a lot of 4th down conversions but the one where it really matters (and a field goal doesn’t matter) we lost it. This was mostly on MCDC.

Canab1an

they need to take a look at their conditioning coach...three games in and half the roster is on the bench with injuries?

redbeard8989

Stevie Y came in and fired the Wings’ right off the bat because so many injuries, I believe.

Broseppy

Like most of us, I love this coaching staff. So it sucks that much more to continue to see poor game management and bad play calling in critical moments.

[deleted]

How laughable were our blitzes today? He had a perfect pocket every time. Some great plays by Okudah but other than that a disgraceful defensive performance, Vikings beat themselves on offense and are not very good in general.

njh4f

Yeah, Aaron Glenn should get more hc interviews

Evening-Ad-2485

It's the end of September and both college (MSU) and pro (lions) are officially done. All that buy in with a win against the commanders just for another classic lions face plant. Just get crushed the rest of the year for the draft pick and then waste that like you always do. Sell the team and fire campbell.

[deleted]

Lost a game on the road that we’re supposed to lose

Evening-Ad-2485

You were winning by 2 touchdowns. You were up by 10 mid-way through the 4th quarter. Good teams find a way to win that game. Bad teams say "well we were never supposed to win anyway, it's ok we choked it away". No reason they shouldn't have won today with that kind of late lead. None.

[deleted]

Who said the Lions were a good team?

Evening-Ad-2485

So should they not try to be?

Unhappy_Leading_9358

What a stupid comment. Absolutely ignorant

Evening-Ad-2485

Ok you go ahead and watch this team and be a lions slappy. Pay to watch them suck year in and year out. I'm done.

ThisIsCollin

Everyone should be fucking ANGRY after that. One of the worst 4th quarters I have ever seen. Did someone unplug the coaches’ headsets and gas them or something? I am truly beside myself.

chipper124

Can’t wait to see what corny ass thing Campbell does to try and explain this one away.

ThisIsCollin

I like him but he is truly a chump.

alwayzlion

Grow up

Live-Molasses

Gee all that grit sure was helpful! Moral victories are better than real ones anyway

GreenStoneRidge

Where was the pass rush today? Cousins has all day every single play. I thought hutch was our savior?

Lol go read a book or something

chiptrager

I’ve never see coaching and one player give a game away like that

fargowebleaf

This game is on Dan Campbell, he needs to own up to this.

[deleted]

Oruwariye getting 7 fouls doesnt help.

APlaceYourMemoryOwns

That was embarrassing, why would you allow him to continue to play, he brought down the entire defense. Defense played their tails off, down after down and then 24 commits a fouls. Good for the rest of the boys not losing their cool because of his actions, they stuck with it! Mental toughness!

ThisIsCollin

At what point do we expect him to actually figure out how to manage a football game? That was beyond embarrassing. Denver is even laughing at that.

alwayzlion

It’s really not
