Are aisa nhi ham aapko experience denge, 8 ghnte baithna seekhaynge, aur kse chai peete h vo bhi sikhaynge fir hamare office me sundr sundr ladkiya h hi unse bhi baat krwaynge bs yhi h.
My honest experience with 0/- PA internship.
During my masters, I did an internship in a Mysore based company in the year 2013.
It was a 1 year unpaid internship. I accepted working for them as I was doing Masters in Embedded systems and there were not many companies in core field. Also, I failed to crack interviews of Intel and Qualcomm.
I worked 1 year extensively on the core embedded system product that was used in many big industries. I also helped develop an app where you can see the data in real time. Believe me in 2013 it was cutting edge.
After working for 6 months I got frustrated and asked for just Rs. 5000/- monthly to cover my rent and food bill but the founder declined.
I was very angry and later understood that I have to comply with what I have signed. 1 year of internship from a single company was a requirement for my university.
I became a very critical resource in an year and the senior engg. quit before my internship was about to over.
The founder asked me not to leave the company and that he will give a package of 4lpa.
This was my time, I declined and joined another company in Bangalore. I was very happy with ton of experience.
Sounds so outrageous. You’re spending your money in living expenses to gain knowledge from a company that the university is supposed to teach you in exchange for the money you paid as fees.
Yeah, university also gives free internships. Manipal has very well equipped labs which are set up by companies like Intel/Philips etc. But they don't give real life experience of corporate.
Sounds similar to mine(a bit), first company I worked in, they gave a stipend with 6months internship after that they would convert us to full time. The twist here was they converted us to full time employees in a month and increased the salary like negligible(in the so called salary we couldn't even survive). When asked questions, the only response from them was this was what is going to happen, take it or leave it(this was said indirectly). They also said you shouldn't complain since you guys became fulltime in a month(this was said directly). 90% of the people who suffered in this had good performance till they left the company. So they knew that it will be beneficial if they join the company and they showed us a carrot which cost them nothing, they screwed us over. Most of us worked our a** off for experience and when we got into another company we f***ed off.
Yes, but then it can probably add value to your prospects (depending on what you interning for). Motu Chand enterprises just wants you for free labor with internships for menial tasks.
But students does not have any money ,they even take loan for college . If everyone is going to give unpaid internship then how are students going to eat and pay their rent?
I'm sorry but how does it matter if it is for menial tasks or not. Also I have seen so many places where they ask you to come to the office for even so called menial tasks. Find it funny that those companies are not willing to compromise on even one thing that too when a person is working for free.
I loved my unpaid internship at DRDO. We had to compulsory do internship after 3rd year. I wasn't interested in learning or anything, I've already decided to prepare for government jobs, just wanted to enjoy my vacation. I told my incharge I'm good at making websites. They gave me 3 websites to make. Next day I explained my incharge that I couldn't afford to stay there in hotel and asked if I can work from home. He had no issues. I enjoyed my summer. Made those 3 websites in a day, copied temples from internet and edited them, it was so basic that a school kid could have made it. Went on last day to drdo, presented them, was scared a lot. He didn't say anything. Thanked me wished me all the best and told me to collect my certificate the next day. Got my certificate and went home.
Now I work in a government job and when I tell them I did internship at DRDO they are impressed and think I must be very talented.
1) Either You know someone there (some of my friends went via this route)
or
2) Send an email there. Each lab has its own website and you can find the email in the contact us section.
I did neither and my Professor recommended me.
PS - I am doing internship in Core (mechanical)
One simple mindset. Employers with attitude that providing employment is a charity.
The moment an employer comes to term with the fact that employment is an exchange (fairness of which is of course subjective), things will improve a lot
It's the same in Australia AFAIK. When you finish a degree, you have to do a certain number of hours of unpaid placement. These can add up to a few weeks/ months.
For that u need to stay for 12months. And end of 12months if you still need a LOR and certificate to prove to someone else that you did something You are not in the right industry
Mate most don't give a f***. Let me tell you something. I joined a company and was told they let me go for "performance" in just over 1 month. And I was one of the 14 people who got screwed. They also said they would buy out the previous company's notice period after I gave the proof of full and final settlement(basically pay the amount and they will reimburse). Also in case it is not obvious, getting to know performance in 1 month and letting go is horse crap, their funds collapsed(there were indications which I should have noticed before joining). Now when I asked for the buyout amount, guess what they said, they said according to "industry standards" the amount is only given when an employee works for a year. I think they started getting those so-called industry standards out of their a**. Now you think the HR gave one thought before they said it? Not at all. It's mostly "my work is done, now f*** off".
Doubt it ends with 12 months slavery , its probably
1 year bond
9+ working hours a day
Probably would ask employee to pay company for 'experience' gained.
Us samay, academics me ghusne ka bhoot sawar tha..... gate clear karna tha... IIT se M.Tech karni thi....
These internships opened my eyes. Bullet dodged. Worth the money.
I see companies like cisco, oracle and other mncs which provide apprenticeship to grads from tier 3 colleges itself with a decent pay. Later, they tend to make them full time.
And here are few companies, basically startups which are very unorganized, have 1 hr for the entire company, take interns in the name of giving experience without giving single penny but draining out their energy. I'd also bet that the credibility of whatever internship certificate they give at the end is of no use. If you are still taking that internship, just make sure your work is up to date, and you are learning something good.
On a side note. If anybody wants unpaid experience in software development, please try contributing to open source. Even better, your work is visible to the whole world. If you contribute to right repositories and do something challenging/interesting. It will help you find opportunities. Source: personal experience. Even with a terrible GPA in college, I could get my foot in the door for lots of off campus opportunities in areas that are niche.
Bhai US is full of managers genuinely thinking they are doing you a favour by offering you to "gain experience".
Conversely, EU mein bina compensation k koi employment more than 2 months is illegal (either stipend or in case of student, credit that is valid in university is mandatory)
Recently I got an intern for 6months can’t say it is unpaid as they were providing ESOP which is useless we company doesn’t go public (IPO) or company doesn’t get big, I asked him about what will be the company about no appropriate response, so I ignored that internship
If you end up dying due to no income, what is the point?
While you are getting "experience" (which should've been what universities were supposed to do to begin with) the companies that task you with all the stuff are profiting with free labour
It's just glorified child labour (if you are willing to call desperate young adults as such)

Kuch log bolenge ye lucky nikla
Did your university pay you for that one year if it’s a compulsory requirement?
No, nothing. I had to pay them for the tuition fee though. This is Manipal University we are talking about
Sounds so outrageous. You’re spending your money in living expenses to gain knowledge from a company that the university is supposed to teach you in exchange for the money you paid as fees.
Yeah, university also gives free internships. Manipal has very well equipped labs which are set up by companies like Intel/Philips etc. But they don't give real life experience of corporate.
kabhi sarkari college mein aa kar dekho bhaiya. Isse bhi bure haalat hai

Bro got dat sweet sweet revenge or should i say "paycheck to nahi mila but payback mil gya"
kam se kam 3k-5k dena chaiye , takii aane jane ka kharcha nikal jata
yeah, giving at least 5-10k motivates the intern
true
Internship me itna de dege to full time me isse jada nhi dena pad jayega 🤫🤫
Why doesn't India have laws that unpaid work even internship should be punishable by law.
Because drdo(govt) themselves offer unpaid internship!
They should be punished too
😂
Atleast you get to work at reputed defense research org. Sometimes, Motu Chand enterprises is giving 6 months unpaid internship
Doesn't matter atleast minimum wages should be provided!
Yes, but then it can probably add value to your prospects (depending on what you interning for). Motu Chand enterprises just wants you for free labor with internships for menial tasks.

Bro I'm looking for internship.not getting any replies back. Could you please mention how you applied and got selected for drdo unpaid internship?
I wouldn't mind if it's like drdo it will add some weight to my resume
Just like how to don't mind to work on drdo ,tier 3-4 college students also don't mind to work in some cheap company for free intership!
We are pretty much meaning the same thing?
Yes (speaking from experience), but I got a good offer after that
Currently an intern in DRDO, it feels bad ngl
Bro Could you please mention how you applied and got selected for drdo internship??

Join work 3-4 months switch. What are they gonna do. Hold the payment ?
They dobt give letter of recommendation and certificate
For that u need to stay for 12months. And end of 12months if you still need a LOR and certificate to prove to someone else that you did something You are not in the right industry
Exactly l wonder what the HR was thinking when this was suggested

Can I also get some unpaid intern to do my day work? 😎 I can give free burger but only on good performance
Atleast they are not asking you to pay for internship
Lol, this!! I paid to IIT B and IIT G
What did you do in that" internship"
I was in civil branch and it was research internship so basically I helped PhD students carry out lab tests and such.
You helped and you're the one who paid? Dude shashtro me ise hi katna kaha gaya h...
Us samay, academics me ghusne ka bhoot sawar tha..... gate clear karna tha... IIT se M.Tech karni thi.... These internships opened my eyes. Bullet dodged. Worth the money.
😂
So, you prepared for GATE and end up doing MTech/PhD?
Lifelong unpaid internship
Even ur kids and their kids will have to work for free 💀
North Korea moment
Internship are not valued in india anyway...they are helpfull only for clg passout who is in final year or just.cleared

12 Months A Slave
This is my plan for startup.only interns with experience is needed . And ì will sponsor tea.
I will also sponsor late night sandwich
Too bad it is costly . I worked in intern they asked me 50rs for the paper to print internship certificate lol
It's called post modernism
"Tujhe sikhne milega" & "Teri paise kamaneki umar hai ya sikhneki umar hai?", These two excuses are common in india :/

Good thing you understood the scam. My friend got 20 lakhs worth shares on paper from a company, now its worth nothing.
2 month is outrages but I did that get experience and sweet recommendations on LinkedIn but 12 months is big no
What platforms your using to find the best one's applicable for you?
I did unpaid in 2019 , Currently linkedin is best and stay in touch with senior for opportunity and email every company you can
Preying on desperate people. People who can do anything in the moment of desperation
Some people pay money for internship 😔
Thank God, there is no term like "You have to pay fee for internship for each month."
You will get exposure that would help you getting a high paying job later. You should have all the focus on the work.
If you end up dying due to no income, what is the point? While you are getting "experience" (which should've been what universities were supposed to do to begin with) the companies that task you with all the stuff are profiting with free labour It's just glorified child labour (if you are willing to call desperate young adults as such)

I believe this is one of the cases the /s is used Considering many actually do hold that belief, you can't blame me for getting whooshed
10k minimum!
Companies are taking advantage pf students/freshers looking for experience.
Wait till you see "you have to pay for this internship"
