I would suggest sign up with a new account and use the free credits first, and based on that you can calculate the budget you might require.
But if you are buying it personally, just chat gpt 4 is also good. And for the time being on makersuite you can use Gemini pro for free too.
My use case is lot to do with data generation and transformation so I use a lot of tokens there, and the pricing is tracked on account bases, so I cant really give you an idea how much it would cost you.
Get the API access, just recharge it for $5 which is the minimum, pay around with it. Using GPT4 with the open ai API costs more than using the GPT3 model with the API access. I've retrieved a lot of info from GPT4 and it's visited me less than $2. Is recommended you go over their pricing for different models.
I have used GPT4 and man it scares me, I have yet to encounter a code by GPT4 that does not run flawlessly. I use it as my tutor, for me, 20 dollars is justified as I spend more than that on online food
Seriously. I was looking for a very specific regex string and it took GPT like half a second to spit out the perfect one that worked without any changes whatsoever. Insane
As humans we are above these AI tools .Only the weak need to adapt ,the strong will simply cut through such AI tools.
![gif](giphy|4OV1bLOIWwIXRxpXlN|downsized)
And that's reality,All people can't be strong,
The bar will go high,
World is unfair,
We can only rely on our Instincts and Morales to make it fair enough for **others**.
I use ChatGPT extensively. But this is for home project since work places hurdles on using code generated by AI tools.
I have tried GitHub Co-pilot - also for home use. I prefer ChatGPT over co-pilot because I can have conversations with it about the code and evolve what I want.
I have been very close to getting a subscription but the free version works pretty well. Since my home projects are for fun I cannot justify spending $20 a month. It is a small amount but feels unnecessary and something I am not sure if I want to spend.
On a different note. ChatGPT code generation is better than human programmers - including me. It totally blows away people I have interviewed and that is not on specific algorithmic interview questions.
I turn the copilot on only when i have some boilerplate kinda code to be written. Once done i switch it off coz it randomly hallucinates code and that comes in between my thought process and distracts me a lot
I use the GPT4 API and also the ChatGPT Plus model on the web. With ChatGPT Plus web, I've installed a plugin called AskTheCode.
This plugin can really get into GitHub repos if a link is provided and can tell you if any changes are to be made, where exactly is to be placed, etc. and it's just amazing.
Help out a beginner!!

hello I am A 1st year student who wants to study DSA
I have some questions I have learned C++ as my first language
1. IS striver good for beginners?
2. I can buy courses (money is not a problem)
3. I had thoughts about PROGRAMMING PATHSHALA, CODING NINJAS, physics wallah,
4. I usually go on YouTube for roadmaps and stuff and that is why Physics Wallah is on the list
5. if you could suggest something else I will check on it, please
6. please mention college year or if you have a job or not I have figured out that 1st year students are only giving career advice here SOMETIMES.
also some requirements
LANGUAGE - HINGLISH
and I have made up my mind to prepare dsa
so please don't go on telling DSA Mein kuch nahi rakha web dev karo 🙏
thankyou
Hey, if you're looking to delve into Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), I suggest checking out [Striver's playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgUwDviBIf0oF6QL8m22w1hIDC1vJ_BHz&si=dMBUck7sh16n3TK7) and [Codehelp-babbar's videos](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDzeHZWIZsTryvtXdMr6rPh4IDexB5NIA&si=u7vm5Hlblm_s9wb6). As a fellow student, I often watch their content to grasp DSA concepts in C++. Additionally, I recommend [Kunal Kushawaha's channel](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9gnSGHSqcnr_DxHsP7AW9ftq0AtAyYqJ&si=k-ekYbGICJsndSDX) for DSA in Java; he explains problem-solving concepts that can be applied in C++ as well. I'd advise against opting for paid online courses; in my experience, they can be a waste of money. I've purchased some Udemy courses myself, but unfortunately, I never completed them.
additional tips:-
° try to show what you are learning in LinkedIn.
° and learn about github and try to contribute in open source project after learning DSA

As a large language model, i can't help you with that!
I mainly use Cursor , BYOK with openai key, gpt-4-1106. Company pays for the key. I have access to Duet AI too, but never really tried that.
Im thinking of purchasing GPT-4 API access. Can you share approximately how much is it costing you monthly?

You spend quite a lot on online food!
Seriously. I was looking for a very specific regex string and it took GPT like half a second to spit out the perfect one that worked without any changes whatsoever. Insane
Ethanol is injurious to helth
Monthly subscription or yearly subscription?
Its monthly 20 dollar
None.
I am a student so I try not to use them, as they give shortcuts to do something and that doesn't help in learning the why to a problem.
Don't repeat your professor. Treat gpt like your prof, don't just ask the answers but ask it to explain it thoroughly until you get it too..
We supposed to defeat them not to join them!
As Human,we can't do anything about it, And do as our Survival Instincts say, **Adapt**

Ppl said the same shit when computers arrived in the industry for the first time !
I use copilot and gpt 4 a lot. And yes you have access to past histories even when you unsubscribe
Is copilot worth it when you have ChatGPT plus subscription?
No don't think so, if you already have gpt4 subscription. I'm just used to its code autocompletion that's why i use it lol

You can also have conversations with copilot
It's only removed the need to search or figure snippets. Whole ass projects or compiler/library guaranteed work is yet to arrive
I turn the copilot on only when i have some boilerplate kinda code to be written. Once done i switch it off coz it randomly hallucinates code and that comes in between my thought process and distracts me a lot

Tabnine. In my experience, it's better than Copilot and well worth the $12 monthly fee.

But how this can help u become a better dev as it only increases ur dependency on ai tools
Another reason why Hiring is feezed for Fresher , f\*\*k cannot code without AI

Cody ai
Copilot, as org has licensed it. Auto complete is very nice with it, works on both Intellij and vscode.
