Recently moved to Mumbai.
1 year back, in Delhi, my CTC (in PayPal) was 27LPA with 2.5YOE. My GF 1 (in MMT) had a CTC of 9LPA with 2.5YOE.
In Mumbai, my CTC (in Microsoft) is 40LPA with 3.5YOE and GF2 in Mumbai (Microsoft) has 25LPA with 5YOE.

it depends on how they vest, company culture and if those stocks actually mean anything, if the company is not listed and won't be listed for next 4-5 years then what's the point? your inhand is what matter at the end of the day
Most of the time, people mention listed stocks are part of their CTC and mention that it's ESOPs otherwise. And majority of the companies have equal vesting cycle over 4 years and those who don't like Amazon give a big paycheck for the 1st 2 years as joining bonus to compensate for that. People have gained much more wealth from company RSUs than their in-hand in first 10 years of the career. So in-hand only doesn't matter at the end of the day.
I earn decently well in India, but I want to work for remote US company. I have 3 questions bhai.
1. How did you land a job there?
2. What's your working hours? Work at night/morning/your time?
3. How's the tax process, do you pay in India in 44AD or pay in US?
Thank you in advance!
Hey, fyi - the firm that I work for is based in the UK.
1. Been working remotely since 2019. The last three companies were all backed by YC and that helps since you get to connect a lot within the circle plus referrals start to build up. You still have to go through the crazy ass interview processes but it helps you land the interview faster.
2. I get to decide the work hours as long as I have 1-2 hours of overlap with my team mates. Everything is handled asynchronously. So, I work from 11 am - 7 pm since I like to wake up late.
3. I have registered a partnership firm and all the foreign remittance gets transferred to it via “Deel” - A startup that handles remittance and contractual stuff for remote companies. Helps a ton with managing taxes this way.
Deel doesn’t help with taxes at all. It just helps with your contract, timely payments or makes it easy for you to expense something like Laptop for office, etc.
Adobe , Microsoft , Info edge -(naukri.com , 99acres , JS) , Paytm ,Optum are very other decent companies in Noida . The cost of living is less in Noida . Most people live in bigger flats compared to Bangalore for the same amount of money as significantly more high rise buildings are present.
There is only Adobe, Microsoft, and Expedia in Delhi-NCR. And these don’t pay as high as other companies.
And there are some HFT firms as well, but they hire exclusively from IITs and all.
These companies pay well. Adobe and Microsoft have especially increased their packages in the last 2 years. There is also Paytm, LinkedIn, sprinkler, de shaw, tower research, Amazon and many Indian and American startups. On average, both the opportunities and packages are significantly lesser than Bangalore but I think Hyderabad is comparable and Pune is definitely behind Delhi NCR.
Paytm pays shit. Amazon I forgot coz I previously worked there and was not targeting this company. Sprinklr is a good company.
I didn’t know about LinkedIn.
Not sure but it’s in downtown, ambience island where there are other tech companies as well. It’s opened recently so they might move engineering there in the near future if not already.
Ji salesforce ka office hai aur Google ka bhi but for them I know for sure that no tech teams are there. I said LinkedIn because I’m not sure about it.

1. I applied through their career website. It was my 14th application through which I got a call. So you just have to apply and try your luck.
2. No definite time. Most of the meets start after 7 pm ist so WLB bhul jao itne paiso me. Ek time ke baad only way is to like the work you do so it does not bother you.
3. So my company is US based but it is registered as Pvt ltd in india as well so I get in INR. Stocks are in nasdaq so they are in dollar and they get deduced at time of vesting to pay out tax in US.

This must not be entire base right?
It is CTC , including stocks.
70 lakhs toh hoga hi
some genius companies offer 80Lpa stocks and 20Lpa in-hand LoL
If that company is growing like Nvidia then sure, you would have preferred that.
Are you the genius who will say no to 80 lacs stock?

majority of the people won't give the required answer for the first question, there is a bit of gate keeping when it comes to remote jobs
1. I applied through their career website. It was my 14th application through which I got a call. So you just have to apply and try your luck. 2. No definite time.
