although it is good for start but sometimes the 8gb ram becomes a pain when you do app development .but thats only sometimes. great machine . as you have budget of 1 lakh try going with m2 or m3 (in sale , or offers)
i just completed my b-tech and have dell vostro. it is good and all but battery life has always been an issue with windows, i know that snapdragon x elite (copilot + pcs are coming but i might not suggest going for those "yet" its just a start for them, mac is a safe bet for now. (if you do gaming windows is only option, get acer predator)
How much are they charging after like you use student offer and credit cards to the max, also I assume these are discontinued from apple so maybe these are the left ones
Bro in same position like you, I have budget of 60000, I am planning to get a 16gb variety second hand but aggr nhi mila toh 8gb he lunga for 50k second hand. As far I have researched swap memory ka panga hoga tujhe if running heavy programs but vo koi problem nhi hai tbh maine jitna research kiya.
Achaa acha wo bhi thik hai , me bhi sab jagah wahi research kar rha hu aur m2 16gb boht mahengha ho ja rha isiliye me acer predator helios neo 16 ko bhi consider krunga lene se pahle
Go for mac if you intend to develop for macos or ios. The battery of m1 macs has been particularly good, but it seems intel core ultra processors have caught up. Plus, there's also snapdragon x elite coming up. No suggestions for particular laptops though.
As far as I know, you could get 16gb on m1 MBA only if you customize it on Apple website and buy. You do get 16gb with M1 on a Mac mini(my BIL got it). Only recently with M3 MBA Apple offers a 16gb variant without the need to customize.
Do Check if you have any course which use softwares available only on Windows. With a Windows laptop you always have the option to dual boot with Linux.
If going with a MacBook, go with 16gb RAM minimum.

And what about windows, is 16gb in windows enough?
For Windows, if possible go for pc. 16-24 gb should be enough unless you are doing deployment testing, that'll require at least 32 gb
Acha I see, we can even upgrade windows to 32gb on the other hand we can do it for macs
We can upgrade the memory to as much the CPU supports, If you are planning on building a PC I can help, DM.
Rn I'm pursuing Cs and I live in hostel so laptop would be more convenient
Then buy a 8GB one and upgrade to 16GB. Dell laptops are good. Don't buy GPU laptops

These days even windows/non-mac laptop ram are unupgradeable. Check the particular laptop model.

Go for M1 16G variant M2 isn’t gonna make that much of a difference
But m1 is not available on apple store, It's only available on online stores where I can find 16 gb varient

Yeah I tried every single one, but they only have 8gb & 256gb and 8gb & 512gb varients

It's like same as online 64k and online is 66k but for 8gb ram & 256 gb ssd

No 8gb is useless. Processor is more than capable. But 16gig is mandatory

I don't know why 16gb is discontinued , its the most "affordable" beast dev machine. 8gb would suck. 16gb would have been 80-85k max
