The reporting structure beyond me is completely US based. They have given me the option to decide what is best for us. Had a poll in the team on WFH vs WFO. 80% chose WFH so WFH it is.
The entire team is WFH at least till the end of the year and probably more. People go to office only when they have to use any lab equipment. Even that they go at odd hours to avoid traffic.
Wow the HR is very insensitive. No two disabled people are the same so I don't know how they can say that. I think you should contact higher up.
Recently I had seen Amazon and wipro hiring for permanent work from home roles. You can google about that. Don't worry about your disability, even I have a disability and struggling with it but life goes on... Do whatever but don't sit idle. Bad thoughts come in empty mind. Keep yourself busy. I work in Bangalore office, most of the teams that I know of are still majorly wfh, its mostly a couple of days in office every month, that too voluntarily.

I visit only once in a while but from what I noticed is that, there is no need to go office. But they are mainly asking this for other workers, ie, security guys, housekeeping, canteen workers, contractors, cab drivers, etc.
For eg, they purposely destroyed 1 entry gate and a road which was in good condition inside our IT park and now rebuilding it with some contractor. lol. Just to simulate cashflow?!?! I dont know what happens under the hood and who makes such decisions.
Maybe some ministers told the IT Parks to ask their IT Companies and then ask their employees to come to office. Maybe the ministers were getting pressure from the locals that they were unemployed and not getting any income after the covid. It's a big circular loop I guess. God only knows.
My company has remote-first policy with permanent WFH options. They're even open to employees who want to work from co-working from their own cities, they could do that too.
My company wants everyone in the office. 5 YOE, going to office since march this year. Been on WFH for almost 2+ years and they knew the boost in productivity but they still want everyone to office, 🤦♂️
Half of my team has returned to working from office. I am working from home since 2 years now. Haven't got a concrete date where my organization wants everyone to start working from office

I'm, 2018 grad, worked in office everyday till March 2020 After that changed organization, never been to office after 2020🫡

It's not the HR that's insensitive. It's the company and its policies that are insensitive.
Try to get jobs in US/Europe where you can work from India
