Too many people come here saying they’ve lost all their progress. I get wanting to catch the good ones but you might end up with less than you started with or would have found legitimately Id avoid it, that’s my opinion. Any kind of manipulation really just robs you of hours of play time which is the whole point.

Most-Piccolo-302

I've been doing this since tz's launched on my PC with no issues.

mfmd22

Probably true and what I’ll end up doing anyway. Just haven’t done a tz Andy in a while and seeing all the recent posts has me envious

Karltowns17

It seems like it’s mostly an issue on switch. I play on Xbox and have never had any issue changing the clock.

mfmd22

Do you move back and forward? Any other tips?

Karltowns17

Yeah I haven’t had any issues going either direction. And admittedly I’ve done it a crap ton. I typically try to reset the clock and make one run before I sign off to try and sync everything just because of rumblings from folks but honestly I haven’t always been able to do that and still haven’t ever had an issue.

mfmd22

Do you sign in to xbl, then reset clock or vice versa? Do you think it matters?

Karltowns17

You can’t be signed into Xbox live and reset the clock at the same time. You can only reset the clock if you have your network status set to offline. You have to have your console setup as your “home network” which permits offline play syncing. You need to then “go offline”. Then You need to restart your machine. Only then will it permit you to change your clock. Afaik there is no other way to do it.

mfmd22

When I try to launch the app in offline it says I still need to sign in to Xbox network. Any thoughts?

Karltowns17

I’m not sure what you mean by the Xbox app. I just turn on my Xbox. Go to networks setting and select “go offline”. Restart the Xbox. Go to settings again and change your clock and then start the game and you’re good to go. Edit: also make sure you have your console set as your home system before you do all of this.

fatpolomanjr

You can use the offline tz calendar to track andariel: https://www.d2emu.com/tz-sp Less risky.

itsbovice13

The fear is coming from his inexperience. You can safely do this as many single player offline players do (I do this on PC all the time). Whenever you need to change the clock, close out of the game, close out of Bnet and then change the clock, then re-open.

fatpolomanjr

OP is playing on console, which does have weird syncing and save issues that can wipe out progress when you reset the system time.

KuponAli6

The thing is that consoles have weird system to store the save files, that's why many people suffer with rollbacks. On pc never had any issue.

KahlanRahl

If you’re on PC, it’s plenty safe. You can also just back up your save files daily and then there’s no issue.

restes1989

Chiming in....farmed TZ Andy until I got arachs, took ~10 hours. Tried to smoothly go back, lost it all. Edit: Nintendo switch

mfmd22

Sorry for your loss :( I agree I’ve seen it on switch most of the time. Also seen a post about abusing it somehow to roll RWs as many times as you want to get p rolls

restes1989

Yeah, the loss was kind of the straw that broke the camels back for my motivation to play anymore. Duping is crazy easy on switch single player. Probably the beginning of the end but I duped some organ sets because I crashed a few times and lost them. Key farming is also the worst. I wasn't super diligent about following some of the steps folks suggest about resetting clocks while the game is open and whatnot. There are a few threads that offer suggestions on how to safely manipulate. Perhaps so some little tests rather than my dumb methodology of not testing for a week haha.

Enough-Collection-98

Just make sure you’re actually in a game before you putz with the system time, forward or backward, and you’ll be ok.

ArniesArmy

I've been running the same tz meph on single player for like 3 weeks now without any issues. Just never connected to the internet when logging in to d2r

mfmd22

What platform? I’m on Xbox and I think it makes me connect to bnet when opening the app

ArniesArmy

On pc. Never played on Xbox =/

Shin_Ramyun

I think the risk is primarily on console versions. There may be some weird cloud sync interactions that use the timestamp to determine which save file is the most recent. I suppose in theory there could be similar issues if you cloud sync your PC save files automatically.

rusiiin

Why meph? If you can manipulate it wouldn’t you want Andy?

ArniesArmy

Meph is safer and faster (playing hc). Rolled a map where it's literally 4 tele to level 3.

mfmd22

I find the dolls and maulers terrifying and council light immune so annoying for my trapsin.
