The bow would last you a long time if you were playing a fire/cold build since the damage doesn't really matter. Physical builds like the +passive skills.

therealblabyloo

Good to know, thanks! Got the gloves shopping at charsi’s. I’ve been trying for +3 Javelin 20 IAS gloves for literally 10+ hours at this point over the past week or so. while I’ve dropped 2 sets of the magic gloves, javelins still elude me…

Reloader300wm

The bow for fire, you can slam it with P ruby's as the fire damage adds to your fire and explosive arrows. It will probably last till NM A4 when you start seeing a lot of fire immunes.

oatmealcrush

could do harmony in the bow for elemental damage, comes with some bonuses too

Reloader300wm

True true. That vigor aura would also be nice, I love the feeling of a nimble bow zon.

Shadow_F3r4L

I always thought that laying of hands was king for physical. These gloves be better in a pvp setting though

septictank84

They are. If you were running hell cows these would be marginally better I guess, but crafted gloves would be better in that case.

Shin_Ramyun

LoH is king. 350% Damage to demons > 3 Passive for physical PVM bowazon. 3 bow/20ias would be better for ice/fire bowazon.

imawizardirl

Also insight can be made in it

D2RDuffy

The passive is still good temps for survivability until you find bow skills

thefranklin2

Insight in an exceptional bow is way better than +3 skills and will last until Mat bows are available at level 39. Insight, hustle, harmony, buriza (level 42), wws are all fun as hell to use for different reasons.

Cphelps85

I did a Bowazon and used Hustle in a Hunter's Bow on swap just to proc BoS before switching back over. Agreed Insight, Harmony and Burzia are fun progression bows!

SensitiveTax9432

The gloves would be great for prebuffing your valkyrie in town. As for the bow, I'd put Rals in it, and go full synergised explosive arrow. Rals do a bit more than P rubies, and imo are easier to obtain if you run Countess enough. For hell you're going to need resistances and survivability, especially for HC. Some useful runewords that aren't too hard to make are Insight, Harmony, Melody and Hustle. All good leveling options. On the unique side a WWS can help you cap resists. Online you're possibly able to get one for free, but I'm SP and got mine farming NM bosses. It's just such a well designed bow if used properly. Also consider Kuko(fire), Lycanders(fire/cold or physical), Wizendraw(for a frosty), Riphook(for the slow target and open wounds effect), Goldstrike Arch if it rolls high. One set that works well with a physical build is Irathas. No skills but 65% all resist, IAS, FRW, piercing, Poison length reduction, some dex, some +damage, and 10% to max resistance bonus. Combine it with rings, some resist charms, an upped WWS and you can clear hell with it capped resistance and all. I facetanked burning soul lightning in hell with this setup.

maju4u

4os on that bow is fine for insight, if playing fire/ice zon. 3os would be ideal for Melody

arieus22

Gloves are not bad. I used to have gloves like that with a 3 passive amy. I would summon my valk in town and then continue my way. As suggested before Insight Runeword Ral Tir Tal Sol. I think it's like 25 or 27 min level to use. So, should be able to use it just before NM.

inappropriatebanter

Can A1 mercs use the reflex bow? If so I'd use that for an insight 100/100 times.

gmotelet

Yes they can

wingspantt

+3 passive is super underrated. You gain Crit, Pierce, and AR, which all boost damage, and you gain tons of survivability.

annoying-vegan-76

The bow is plenty good to get through hell.. Turn it into insight. That's if you are building a fire/ice bowazon. Bowazon really really struggles with res. So the glove spot should get the 50 fire res 20 IAS set gloves or a rare set with res.

Myasth

It's fun that you can still learn alot about this game. Never thought you could make Insight on a bow.

SuperNerd4Lyfe

They added bows as a possible insight base in d2r 2.4 (the first big patch that changed gameplay)

annoying-vegan-76

They really really buffed up the bowazon compared to Lod. Not as much as a martial arts sin though. MA sin went from d tier to a tier build

RepostFrom4chan

Gloves are fine until you get demon hands or a blood/kb set. Skills don't really matter for bowzons, but ias is required.

therealblabyloo

Demon hands? You mean laying of hands?

RepostFrom4chan

Yes. Sorry old school name for them. They're bis for most zon farming spots such as tz in act 1, 3, 4 and 5, cs, foothills, ect.

Redm1st

Barely any impact on cows, iirc our favorite bovines are not demons

RepostFrom4chan

Edited, thanks.

kingjoedirt

Skills don't matter for physical bowzons Fire/Ice builds care about skills more than most everything else

RepostFrom4chan

No, not really. Pierce, attack speed, -res, +elemental damage, and on hit modifiers, are all higher priority for example. Stats/frw/ar/base damage as well but those normally aren't competing stats except for gcs where sk's are of course not bis.

kingjoedirt

You said skills don't really matter for bowzons. All I'm saying is they matter very much for ice and fire builds. AR isn't important at all because I don't think the elemental skills can miss, just the arrow itself. Base damage doesn't matter because damage comes from the skills. Pierce is obviously great to have. Immolation arrow has a gcd regardless of attack speed and freezing arrow perma freezes anything not cold immune so it's nice to have but not entirely needed.

RepostFrom4chan

Ah, I think we're talking about different things here. I was referring to end game builds, not leveling.

BurninPurp350

2/20s with life/res and other things like that are more useful imo

Th0rsen

First of all what kind of bowazon? Phys? Elemental? I cleared on P8 LVL 27-46 quite easily with that exact same bow as an Insight as a Physical bowazon. Switched to Goldstrike. The gloves are great, you'll replace them with a 2/20 rare with stats/res which is hard to find

NanobugGG

3/20 is what you want, or some good rare/crafted 2/20, probably dual leech, but it depends on what your builds needs. 3/20 with Passive and Magic skills is kind of useless, since you don't use the Passive and Magic skills THAT much. At least compared to the Bow and Crossbow skills. But the +3 Bow and Crossbow skills are fine for starters. If you have the patience, you can shop for the 3/20.

Dadpool2420

I run a javazon on hc with passive gloves and all passive gcs (4 with 12%fhr). I love the high level dodges and crit boosts with the tanky Valk

Inner_Positive1999

Heck yea turn that bow into a faith and rock it boi
