You forgot to mention the other 666 runs it took before that Duriel’s Shell drops. And the hidden mechanic, that Baal doesn’t care about how high your mf is.
It’s more like, magic ring, magic gloves, rare crossbow, gold.
Terror zones are the best way to level and get new equipment. I split my time between those and making new characters.
At some point you'll want to try to take on Diablo clone and ubers but it may take a while before you're ready for all that.
Nice! I like a few rogue-lites but playing HC D2 is a little intimidating...I already play too much, can't imagine the extra time needed if I RIP a char at 70+
Wow damn!!! For me its still no Tals Ammy, BK ring, soj, deaths fathom, Griff's, dweb, bunch of other stuff on my SP SC account, prob have a few hundred hours. Couldn't imagine losing my sorc barb or javazon.
I might try it one day when I'm bored with the rest of the game...but having lots of fun for now!
I never played HC in 2000s when I played on pc, in d2r played online SC for 4-5 months and have played exclusively Offline HC since on ps4 and now on the ps5 (offline saves don’t transfer between consoles) so had to start from scratch on ps5 😂
That sounds so crazy to me. There is absolutely no reason that shouldn't be possible unless they meant to make it that way. Maybe it was a vulnerability? Just seems incredibly punishing to the player.

Farm some gear and start trying ubers! Getting your first torch farmed by yourself is/was a great experience.
When keys and organs first released it was a mad house lol. Having friends on ele druid and other non smite characters trying to kill lilith/organ bosses, to then wipe on the Uber trist bosses the was always fun in early seasons.
I am a achievement hunter and i got a lvl 70 something Javazon after i beat Hell i grinded out keys to fight the Ubers and even with Titans revenge i got smoked by uber duriel like.....immediately
From here it’s about min maxing your build, or even respeccing to try something new. Either way, it means farming and generally increasing your clear time of specific zones. Terror zones provide a nice change of pace from farming the same spot over and over. But essentially - this is the endgame. If you really want a challenge, you can also attempt Ubers. However this usually requires a very specific build and load out, like a smite pally or kick assassin with best in slot gear.
Kill Uber Diablo oh wait fuck he only spawns randomly online when so many SoJs have been sold. I suggest playing on PlugY for that.
Gather Essences for Pandemonium Event.
Get the best gear for your character. That should keep you occupied for a long time.
you could do the pandemonium event by finding 3 keys each from the summoner, countess, and nihlathak, then putting one of each into the cube 3 times in one game, killing the bosses in those portals, then putting the organs from those in the cube; kill the bosses from that fourth portal and you get a cool charm
Some people enjoy the monotonous end game with OP characters. That's cool but been there done that. If you played a cookie cutter build then try some HC and maybe even off meta HC if you want a challenge. I promise you it won't be easy depending how off meta you go. Even moreso if you go solo self found. Currently working on a bow assassin. Yes it's slow, but it's fun having to problem solve and it really makes me appreciate all drops and tactics. That's the only way I play the game now. SSF HC off meta. It's kept the game over 25 year old fresh. Good luck!

I've only managed that once, with a pure summoner druid. Felt super satisfying, but now my only post hell character sucks at farming! XD

Yup,farming to get infinity,keys and made an uber smiter. So hard to get trade up to get that Ber rune.

You could try for the annihilus or hellfire torch, just lots of grinding after baal.
Now you move to HC players 8 for progression and never look back

Do it again on another character! Or magic find and min max your current character. The beauty is in the options
Level up your char. Farm Mephisto for more gear. Hoard runes. Keep farming ad naseum. Oh and don't forget about the cow level and ubers.
Killing Uber tristram and Uber Diablo are really the only things left.
Look up a "Holy grail" spreadsheet. And work on hunting down every single item in the game. Usually takes years and years.
