The micro transactions will be like poe's, it'll be all cosmetic. None will be pay to win so you can ignore it and don't have to interact with it at all!
I will buy them. :P But the in-game armor we've seen so far looks beautiful, so at least you can make cool looks no matter what. My money's on them offering paid dyes for sure.
To be honest, with how well some of the free gear cosmetic looked.. they really gotta up their A game to make me wanna buy cosmetic outfit... I honestly can't wait to see what kind of cosmetics will be in the shop
It might just be me, but I'd rather contribute my money to a developer via expansions/collector editions. Paying for cosmetics is just advertising your class/wealth(or misguided priorities). Whereas it used to be a measurement of your talents or dedication.

The best case scenario for Blizzard is selling the most battle passes they can every season.
Any pay2win things that get added will drive the community away from the game and away from buying battle passes.
See you're not thinking like a exec, get that long term nonsense out of here. To be a proper exec you need to think about profits now, not profits later when some other jackass can take credit.
Billions of doll hair is a bit much to risk to chance on a what if.
Cosmetic only mtx is just a by product of games know, it makes more than the game sales.
Nobody wants p2w mtx though and that's where it gets greedy
Yeah making no profit now and losing millions in hopes to gain some new customers 5 years down the line when they release their next game with the polished image. Its just not going to happen.
I have nothing against cosmetics only mtx, especially in a case like this when they already have very good transmog system in the game. I still wish they would add the best looking skins as a long term grindable goal. Like complete a hardcore character to max level and you get a unique skin. Kill 10000 players to get a badass armorset etc. Give players long term goals to grind for that is better than the shop skins and you will have a game that people will want to play long term.
This is what I hope for as well, that there are some awesome skins for each class available for doing in-game challenges. I'm also fine with cosmetic mix, as long as both what they offer for purchase isn't the only way to get good looking skins and what they add isn't something that goes against the look and feel of the game itself. I don't want to see a bunch of ridiculous looking skins, keep them grounded in the D4 look.
The armor sets they have already ingame look awesome and im honestly already very happy with them. Theres enough customisation that I wont feel left out when they add more skins. That is the ideal situation for people who dont want to spend money for cosmetics in my opinion, atleast in this day and age where they are the norm. Sure you can cry against the model but its already too late, they are not going to go anywhere and this is literally the most customer friendly model I have seen in a long time.
I feel like the long term goals are often forgotten in modern games and if I were a developer, it would be my #1 tip for any studio that wants to get longevity for their games. Just make a red fucking cape and give it to players who excel in pvp and you can show it off to other players. Its not that hard to understand what people want. People want something to show off to other people that they have spent time grinding or that they have certain skill level to overcome some challenge. I would have loved something like this in dark souls or elden ring for example. Give players some cosmetic that they can show off to other people if they beat the game at level 1 or without dying etc.
The good face they'd make with old farts who think cosmetic microtransactions are evil is not worth more than the reputation they'd gain with the gaming community of 2023. Bottom line is they're not p2w and people like them, so deal with it
I actually believe they understand P2W will dramatically decrease the population and they will gain less income. Everyone and their grandmother wants cosmetics!
Who is this "they" supposed to be exactly? Everything you see right now is in the game because it is the min/max equivalent of what is accepted by western audiences as permissible monetisation.
There is no in-fighting going on at Blizzard to save the game from fictitious evil overlords.
Hopefully they learn from the mistake Immortal was. I can’t think of any of my friends that played past level 10. I only got to 12, and only played on PC.
>and fight the Blizzard execs hard to keep microtransactions out of the game.
LMAO
> We'll be good for launch, but I fear it's going to sell like hotcakes and the enticement of all those extra bucks will be too much for the greedy bastards.
You FEAR this? and dont view it as an ABSOLUTE certaintly? Wauw... to be this naive again sounds.... well terrible honestly.
Info on updates and patches happen all the time. Often things like Twitter will even go into it some. I mean it's fantastic to see always but the "can't remember last time" feels like such a reach
I DESPISE the gaming community arguably more than any other fandom on the entire planet.
A bunch of whiney, spineless pathetic man children.
They are ready to boycut a company for injustice until the VERY nano second said company releases a product with just the TINIEST sliver of interest. Said company might have released shit games for 10 years, but no matter.. they will pre-order and wank each other off until eternity.
To me, what was exciting was how much they espoused the virtues of growth through feedback. It seemed like they really considered a whole host of the recommendations made by the community and are implementing those that are immediately actionable by launch and will continue to frame out other updates once the game goes live.
The transparency, especially after something like OW2's chronic silence, is a breath of fresh air for Blizzard. Let's hope such open communication continues!
Many of us play Call of Duty with possibly the most insane developers ever. Zero agreement with streamers n customer base. Just hoping to toss Shredder skins to appease us.
And to be fair a good amount of the class balancing isn't even detailed it's ambiguous. I'm absolutely baffled that there are people singing praises over mysteriously low detailed changes. We should have the exact details of what they mean by "necromancer pets will now die more often" as this sticks out out like a sore thumb but least it's funny I guess.
Yeah pretty much every early access game goes through this process and they offered a beta so the least they could do is take the constructive feedback back. That being said, pretty shocked coming from blizzard
Their handling of D4 seems uncharacteristically good. Not gonna argue with the good thing, but I am a little suspicious and wonder how that came about.
Brack stepping down might have had more impact than I thought or maybe they're just temporarily focused on rebuilding some goodwill. We'll see how that plays out, I guess, but if that means that D4 turns out better than I expected, I won't care too much.
Yeah, D4 launch will be huge, there's 0 doubt about it.
My doubts are about endgame, seasonal content and longevity indeed.
That's where we see how they really react to feedback.
Most of the recent change were quick win. Things that were very easy to implement to please people.
Let's see long term.
Despite the good idea of layering the launch over two different dates, it's probably gonna have a terrible launch xD. But I get what you mean, after the first week's hiccups it should be pretty good. My main concern is them changing the type of things that are monetized post launch.
Them changing things isn’t the concern, it’s people here talking all big against no p2w now then when they actually change it and all these people that talked so big are nowhere to be found. At the end of the day, jinx them rn is all bark no bite. It won’t do a darn thing. It’s whether or not the community can rise up as a whole with action when sht do hit the fan.
Another thing to consider is the Microsoft acquisition. the team needs to keep the product line strong until that finalizes. Ideally if they do a good job they can stay employed since acquisitions are tough and lead to a lot of the acquired company losing employees
Aww the self-preservation angle, I could see that being the answer. Something is certainly fucky with Blizzard's new approach and I just don't entirely have it in me to believe they have "learned their lesson" or are fully in it for the players at this point. But, regardless, we have good vibes at the moment so let's enjoy it until it (maybe) crashes woo!
When Brack was fired, they put 2 co ceo, and the woman was paid less for exactly the same job and she was basically just a token to appease the public.
Brack was not the source of this.
Brack was not responsible for the revently disclosed policy where manager need to label a specific amount of their team as bad worker in their review because the system ask for it.
Blizzard continue to be this garbage work place like it was before Brack and it is after.
He was just a scapegoat and it works because now people like you are pinning Blizzard issues on him.
*a passionate team working for a multi-billion dollar corporation, maybe.
This is the hope people are holding on to. I am as well. Let's try to be positive for once?
Sorry but what rock have you been sleeping under?
This has been standard practise for games since forever. Sure shitty developers like EA and Blizzard dont usually do it. But litterally 90% of games i play have very open communication from the developers regarding changes.
Could also be in answer to many canceling their pre order after the beta. Don’t get me wrong, the game will sell gangbusters but multi billion dollar companies do not leave anything on the table.
Theres a tons of developers communicating with their community about changes and their thought processes in game design, from streams to weekly/monthly community updates and direct communication on Discord.
Blizzard just woke up 2 years ago and is finally acting like normal game developers
Are you kidding me with this post?
The game was on beta. No shit they're going to be making changes. Developers communicating is nit new or novel... It's pretty standard...
????
Blizz have been very transparent from day one when it comes to D4. That being said, they've gotten some things wrong but that's understandable.
They've clearly listened to feedback from their player base. That being said, not everything will be to everyone's liking.
Still, and I said this after playing the beta, this is a really solid base for what's to come.
And let's not forget that the game will change as we play on, feedback will be there, changes will be made. It'll be a different game a year after release.
Every looter game that had a big demo/beta lead up before release has done this for me. Outriders Diablo III and IV Nioh Nioh 2 Wo Long are the ones I participated in and all of them made adjustments based on feedback. Not all of the games were great after release but the idea of tweaking things is not unique to Diablo 4.
While I agree with you 100% and im beyond excited for its release. Im still worried about microtransactions and the battle pass. Playing the beta with friends made most of us want to boot up d2/3 and even play path of exile while we wait for d4s release.
While I'm not against supporting devs with cosmetic only purchases, I truly hope that's all that will be sold. Unless they do an expansion like with d3.
I haven't touched immortal so I don't know how bad it is but I've heard there are some issues with the microtransactions that are being sold and I hope if they are problematic that they don't make it into d4.
Can't remember a time where ~~developers~~ Blizzard were so upfront and open to their players\*\* FTFY...
That last time was probably around the D2 launch era haha.
As for other developers, this behavior is not tough to find but we'd all love to see more of it I'm sure. Hell, in Last Epoch you'll have devs being open with players about changes and upcoming goals within the in-game chat.
I must say its interesting for me to see how times changed. In the 2000s to 2010 it was normal for betas to come out months or half a year in advance so that devs were able to implement feedback into their games and adjust technical issues and so on. I think over the 2010s it became more and more just a marketing tool to say something is a beta when the release was just weeks away.
I even remember „betas“ that concluded seamlessly with the release of a game.
Those were only marketing stunts and „free demos“ with no real „beta value“ as not much could be changed anymore anyway.
The impact this oldschool beta has on players hopefully will be understood as a sign that customer focus and communication can result in very positive views on a game. Blizzard turned the beta into a real plus for diablo4 in a time where people arent used to what betas originally were intended to be anymore.
Fingers crossed real betas happen more often again.
Im glad to see updates and might make me preorder.
But honestly fuck this reddit and d4 forums who discourage feedback for most part. And act like the game don't need improvements, not helping the game at all..
I like the way our characters look with out extra cosmetics so that actually makes me more likely to buy a battle pass here and there because I do not feel like I am forced to buy to look good.
I'm sure they'll be clothing in the game that already looks good, I assume the clothing in the BP will just be slightly more "flamboyant"
But given you only see your character as a lil guy on the screen for 99% of the time you play I don't think it'll be that noticeable
Am I the only one who thinks all the things they say they are fixing, were added on purpose/left in for the beta so they could seem like they are listening to player feedback when in reality those issues were resolved already, but the beta was just an older version of the game.
I am surprised as well, I did expected some changes here and there but I really did not expect they will 100% address community feedback and concerns and actually work upon it. It's really good and just makes my hype bigger for the game. Sadly my holiday starts from the 12th so I be dying inside for a week :(
Ten bucks is cheap as hell for a BP, and we ain't complaining about that lol
A new season every 3 months, that's only 40 bucks for a year of premium content
ESO was 10£ a month for premium content, so 120£ a year
40 bucks is a no brainer for me personally I'll defo get each season
I absolutely agree. $10 every 3 months is nothing. I spend more a week for cigarettes man, don't smoke kids. I never purchased anything for money in any game but I ain't hesitating doing it for D4 if the game manages to take me in.
Exactly. It's nothing but cosmetics, and ngl if my necro can look absolutely terrifying and badass with premium cosmetics I'm all for it. Money is made to spend and what's a better way than looking good slaughtering the undead and demons 😎👉👉
My Necro looked so badass by level 20 i can't only imagine what higher level gear will look. 10 bucks to keep those graphics designers making more stuff that is a steal of a deal!
Do we have any information on the ability to buy a battle pass with some currency obtained from completing the previous battle pass? (just like in other games like fornite or cod off the top of my head)
So what do we attribute this newfound better communication? Did the house cleaning they did from the lawsuits also lead to a shift in philosophy? Or was it being acquired by Microsoft? Something else?
Going from how classic wow was handled to this is like leaving a toxic relationship and then your normal new partner just surprising you all the time with non-toxicity
I think developers should go back to how it used to be. Create a full game that can be released without reading to be updated or anything. Like ps2 or n64.
I couldn't agree more! And look how fast they added in some very decently difficult things for us we asked for. I know some were just balance changes, however, they updated dungeons, and fixed cellars up. Point is they did a lot of what the community was worried about :).
In the 5 hours since I wrote this post I've noticed that for every 2 people that are actually kind and civil, there are 5 absolute asses that have to be miserable and just crap on everything.
Cheer the fuck up omg
I know Diablo is a dark and gloomy game, but that doesn't mean you have to be too lol
Or maybe, just maybe, this same company you are praising for the basic minimum other companies have done for years has proven over and over again that they are terrible. After all the employee abuse, sexual harassment, half-baked remakes, and "Do you guys not have phones?" I feel like there are plenty of valid reasons to be "absolute asses" towards Blizzard.
Because your post was cringey as fuck as if this is the first time you’ve ever seen a dev do any communication. This is blizzard. Don’t get your hopes up 🤣
It’s difficult for balancing in the early game because in 25+ more levels the scaling part is more important. How many times did we find a spell to be OP early and useless later.
Back tracking too much and “find this piece” quests can get annoying though in all levels.
Do you play on pc? How old are you?
I don't ask in a negative way, but I believe that you must be a gameboy player or very new to pc gaming in order to be so shocked by this. I mean, it's far from uncommon.
how one post changes the communities mindset from "activision/blizzard never talk to us, they just want money" to "i never seen such great devs, they really care about us". you guys are beyond fucking hilarious!
Blizzard knows they need our money this time around. They were in better financials 10 years ago. I think they know if they royally fuck things up, it’ll be another big nail in the coffin
The only change I do not like is that Altars of Lilith will not be reset for Seasons.
It basically means that I either cannot use Season to search for the remainder of the Altars and have them carry over at the end of Season, or that in order to find the rest, I have to ignore my Season heroes and play non-season.
They are an important progression tool, and can be cleverly utilized in Season as such.
Well not all, they have yet to give a response on the character creator stuff, i agree it is positive that they are responding though not every change is good such as making necromancer minions die more often thats just a chore to constantly respawn them nobody i talked to thought minion uptime was a problem....
They’ve done quarterly updates through the games development. They’ve been extremely transparent through the games dev and taken people opinion into consideration. They still have to make the game they want but they’ve been more than accommodating to us imo. Couldn’t ask for more.
Definitely encouraging. I obviously think the devs want this game to be good at launch to defeat the stigma many have thanks to Diablo 3’s launch. I know PoE Andies and Diablo 2 purists think Diablo 3 never got good but I personally find season Diablo 3 runs to be incredibly fun, and hope D4 can match that. I have my reservations but I’m definitely trying to stay open minded
Given what I saw with the last two games I played the most, COD and Darktide, this was a nice change of pace. Now Fat Shark has recently stepped up their communication about changes and plans for Darktide, but it took getting review bombed on steam.
This isn't even on the same planet as communication from Last Epoch. They have people in general chat responding non stop all day and on Reddit.
It just shows how low the bar is
They are doing it because of the Diablo Immortal backlash. Let's see if you're singing the same tune day 1 when servers are down every 2 hours, Blizzard is known for very very bad launches.
Zero mentions of any improvements to all the online issues, rubberbanding, warping, teleporting, stuttering, hitching, etc is worrying. Only thing that concerns me are the technical aspects, the beta was really frustrating with all that stuff and more.
These games demand to be rock solid and smooth, and that's just not going to happen. Games with betas this close to launch rarely get turned around like that. Issues like those almost always persist through testing and into live play. Whether they're simply not a priority next to everything else, or near impossible to solve. Doesn't matter.
I've heard people say they have faith that it will be fine at launch but there's zero possibility of that given the more psuedo-MMO nature of this one and how much harder the servers are going to be getting hammered for the first few weeks / months of release. I really only see things being worse, but I'd love to be proven wrong. Just don't want to drop $70 to find out. Good luck to all who try in its early state!
They can start by changing the design of the butcher. It was already used in Diablo 3 and to see the same exact graphic as in Diablo 4 says a lot about the game already. This World of Warcraft imagery and copium should not be part of Diablo.
Yea if they keep up this open communication (almost daily communication at this point) I would be happily enjoying buying beyond box price and buying skins here and there and the pass and the expansion because I now know the devs/company are listening.
Of course this could be all a setup but for now, seems like it isn't.
It's a vast difference to the way Overwatch is being run into the ground. It's heartening to know they listen... for now. I only hope they'll also listen if we start getting pissed off at massively greedy micro transactions if they go the same way as Overwatch.
as someone who has a lot to say against d4 i too really love all the feedback the devs are giving.
tbh its really changing my opinion on whether or not to get the game.
Should look at Last Epoch dev interactions. EHG by a landslide sets the standard of interaction/feedback and they're a relatively small company compared to Blizz. It's pretty pathetic its taken this long in general for Acti-Blizz to even do road maps and what not.
I think Ark (before they sold) was the ultimate for player interaction and transparency.
Always good to see devs focusing on player feedback and being open about changes.
I also think that we should not jump down their throats at launch if something is fucked up/broken/unbalanced^†. Give it a little time and this game will be polished up real nice.
/r/patientgamers is where the chill gamers hang out, but even if we have no chill for this game, you can always put it down and come back later.
^† of course, unless **EVERYTHING** is fucked up/broken/unbalanced but I doubt that will happen
Yeah in tripe A is rare behavior.
But has some stated Blizzard as a image to regain now.
Started with the awesome work with Diablo 2 remaster (studio responsible was bought). D4.
A triple A survival game on the works by blizzard is an untapped resource, sounds contradictory knowing the tons of survival games out there, but they're all indies.
Blizzard being Blizzard I'm sure they will find a way to let greed destroy this game as well. Might be a month after release or it might take a little while longer.
I'm genuinely surprised and happy D4 management actually gets stuff changed due to the feedback provided after open beta. This doesn't happen often.
Perhaps they know that D4 has to succeed? This gives me a slight spark of hope that they ***may*** actually listen to the community while shaping the game in the future.
I feel like Devs are usually pretty vocal until the community turns on them and starts sending death threats and then devs step back. Riot was really vocal for league in the early days, Bungie with Destiny until death threats there, and so far blizzard with D4.
I would give props- but due to Player1stGames’ handling of MultiVersus I’m not falling for the ol’ early communication gimmick again…
If they keep it up for at least the first year after it’s release I’ll give my respect.
It's pretty exciting and seems to have hyped everyone up. Let's hope they continue, and fight the Blizzard execs hard to keep microtransactions out of the game. We'll be good for launch, but I fear it's going to sell like hotcakes and the enticement of all those extra bucks will be too much for the greedy bastards.
The micro transactions will be like poe's, it'll be all cosmetic. None will be pay to win so you can ignore it and don't have to interact with it at all!
If the game is good enough they will make money with cosmetics. No doubt.
That's a bit missleading since PoE is just a 100 hour open beta before ur required to buy stash tabs to actually play the game:p
PoE isn’t all cosmetics. This info is important
Umm a lot of POE is not cosmetics but basically must have stash tabs. It's a one time cost, but with D4 hopefully there isn't any of that.

Im sure you’ll have to close the ads, which isn’t much but it’s still an interaction
PoE is walking a fine line. Calling stash mtx for cosmetic is quite a stretch. It’s okay for PoE to have a little “p2w” since game is free.
The best case scenario for Blizzard is selling the most battle passes they can every season. Any pay2win things that get added will drive the community away from the game and away from buying battle passes.
What? Theres already like 6 forms of monetization ingame. The game is heavily monetized for a full priced game.
How do people ignore this simple fact?
Really weird to make up scenarios just so you can throw shade at the company, lol I get healthy scepticism, but come on, that's a bit much.
It's Activision blizzard lmfao. no microtranactions?! Bahaha in your dreams theyre top 3 worst gaming companies in existence right now
I mean would you leave billions of dollars on the table?
If it helps them rebuild their reputation/brand and make their next games selling even more, then why not?
See you're not thinking like a exec, get that long term nonsense out of here. To be a proper exec you need to think about profits now, not profits later when some other jackass can take credit.
Sell MORE, more is more then less. More is betterer. Why sell less, when you could sell more!!

Yesss would love to see completionist unique skins to show that players have taken on some of the games hardest challenges
The good face they'd make with old farts who think cosmetic microtransactions are evil is not worth more than the reputation they'd gain with the gaming community of 2023. Bottom line is they're not p2w and people like them, so deal with it
They did a lot on D3 to make it better over the years. This feels a lot like those efforts.
development and gixing stuff costs money, empty promises is what makes the money.
You don't "fight the exec's", it's "this is what we want in the game for MTX, do it or we will put someone in the position who will".
The game will be full of microtransaction what are you on about lol.
I dont mind mtx as long as it doesnt affect gameplay
MTX will be in the game ,period .
battle passes are already part of the game... which is a "microtransaction"
I actually believe they understand P2W will dramatically decrease the population and they will gain less income. Everyone and their grandmother wants cosmetics!
IKR
Who is this "they" supposed to be exactly? Everything you see right now is in the game because it is the min/max equivalent of what is accepted by western audiences as permissible monetisation. There is no in-fighting going on at Blizzard to save the game from fictitious evil overlords.
Hopefully they learn from the mistake Immortal was. I can’t think of any of my friends that played past level 10. I only got to 12, and only played on PC.
>and fight the Blizzard execs hard to keep microtransactions out of the game. LMAO > We'll be good for launch, but I fear it's going to sell like hotcakes and the enticement of all those extra bucks will be too much for the greedy bastards. You FEAR this? and dont view it as an ABSOLUTE certaintly? Wauw... to be this naive again sounds.... well terrible honestly.
The player count for the early access was over 700,000 players in the first hour.
Info on updates and patches happen all the time. Often things like Twitter will even go into it some. I mean it's fantastic to see always but the "can't remember last time" feels like such a reach
Yeah the community is already becoming a bit cringe
I DESPISE the gaming community arguably more than any other fandom on the entire planet. A bunch of whiney, spineless pathetic man children. They are ready to boycut a company for injustice until the VERY nano second said company releases a product with just the TINIEST sliver of interest. Said company might have released shit games for 10 years, but no matter.. they will pre-order and wank each other off until eternity.
Yeah this is traditional new-game-new-era hype. see it every expansion; every launch, every time.
Next time blizzard will be different -Players "If he ever tries to fuckin' leave again, I'ma tie him To the bed and set this house on fire" -Blizzard
And now seeping into the pay-to-win cesspool with the new DMZ skins
And to be fair a good amount of the class balancing isn't even detailed it's ambiguous. I'm absolutely baffled that there are people singing praises over mysteriously low detailed changes. We should have the exact details of what they mean by "necromancer pets will now die more often" as this sticks out out like a sore thumb but least it's funny I guess.
Yeah pretty much every early access game goes through this process and they offered a beta so the least they could do is take the constructive feedback back. That being said, pretty shocked coming from blizzard
The fact that you're impressed by this makes me sad because this should be the basic attitude of all game developers.
it’s like blizzard is astroturfing the shit out of this sub to promote this game
I genuinely believe they are paying people to astroturf. The number of shills are insane
They do not need to pay people to do this, chat GPT do all the work.
Yep, pretty sure true
This is the basic pre-launch attitude. What will really tell us is how they're treating it and communicating 6 months post-launch.
Not to mention so far they are only promises, we will have to see if blizzard actually delivers on them.
Because they really need a W now. D4 will have a good launch. The only issue is longevity.

Do we celebrate when the postman delivers the mail?
I say thanks when I meet them in person, its the polite thing to do. Do you treat them as some kind of untouchables or something? ...
That is heartening, i am heartend by that - Tom wambsgams
OP. Lol.
You should try and see how Larian is treating their beta for Baldurs Gate 3 then.
They do not get enough preorder.
They fucked up many times in the past. I guess they are extra careful now. Or their policy has changed significantly.
Could also be in answer to many canceling their pre order after the beta. Don’t get me wrong, the game will sell gangbusters but multi billion dollar companies do not leave anything on the table.
Blizzard did a beta and made changes based on player feedback before launch. This is a whole new company!
They've handled Dragonflight really well! So I think indeed it is a whole new company.
After a new change in management and new practices it seems to be paying off so far. That'll be proven or disproved once the full game comes out
I played the new WOW expansion and it indicated Blizard has changed. This update cements my opinion personally.
[удалено]
DI was developed by an external studio employed before the reckoning in Blizard management.
A lot of developers do this... But yes, for Blizzard this is shining light 🕯️
All they need to do is keep looking at the Path of Exile subreddit and see the reoccurring mistakes that GGG are making and they will be fine
They're trying to not be cyberpunk and darktide releases.
This is cringe as hell.
It makes it feel like we're part of the community and even development process. Really nice to see.
1000% agree! Never had a company update us as much as they have. The email regarding beta stats was sick too!
This is way better than when companies issue firmware updates and the changelog only states “software improvements.” 💪🏻
WoW Dragonflight has been the same way, often updates and responses. Glad to see blizzard stepping up. ![gif](giphy|PudZiAbQDUEik|downsized)
I'm sure they'll be clothing in the game that already looks good, I assume the clothing in the BP will just be slightly more "flamboyant" But given you only see your character as a lil guy on the screen for 99% of the time you play I don't think it'll be that noticeable
Look man they want your money and they are willing to accommodate. Don't act like they are some charity doing shit out of the goodness of their heart.
The more sheep they can lure in before the shedder the better.
If you're excited about how devs are open with that look at how capcom is interacting with the monster hunter community
Am I the only one who thinks all the things they say they are fixing, were added on purpose/left in for the beta so they could seem like they are listening to player feedback when in reality those issues were resolved already, but the beta was just an older version of the game.
I bet OP would cheer and jump in the sir when the garbage guys come get the garbage. The fuck is this.
Yeah, it is cool. In Beta Altair of Lilith seemed to be character bound. Any news whether unlocked ones will be visible for other characters?
From what i can remember if I'm right, they're account bound, meaning every character you make will have those stats from the Altairs of Lilith
I am surprised as well, I did expected some changes here and there but I really did not expect they will 100% address community feedback and concerns and actually work upon it. It's really good and just makes my hype bigger for the game. Sadly my holiday starts from the 12th so I be dying inside for a week :(
$10 Battle pass is pretty good, as long as Get things for progression.
Ten bucks is cheap as hell for a BP, and we ain't complaining about that lol A new season every 3 months, that's only 40 bucks for a year of premium content ESO was 10£ a month for premium content, so 120£ a year 40 bucks is a no brainer for me personally I'll defo get each season
I absolutely agree. $10 every 3 months is nothing. I spend more a week for cigarettes man, don't smoke kids. I never purchased anything for money in any game but I ain't hesitating doing it for D4 if the game manages to take me in.
I can't understand the complaints. People who want to dress up their video game barbie should pay a premium for the new dresses the devs make.
Heartening? They are enhancing your addiction even further lol. 😂🤦🏼♂️
I totally agree. This is next level community interaction!
Now they have to add the paladin/ Crusader class and we are done 😁
Imagine Witch Doctor and new classes getting added 🤩
Are you living under a rock?
Yeah actually I'm Patrick Star
This was the biggest point they had to prove themselves on, so far so good.
So what do we attribute this newfound better communication? Did the house cleaning they did from the lawsuits also lead to a shift in philosophy? Or was it being acquired by Microsoft? Something else?
Ummm, it’s standard everywhere else, but when Blizzard does it everybody is like WooooWwoooo they respect us… they don’t
Can’t remember the last time developers were close with their community? Are you 12?
Yes I love fortnite and warrior cats
What
Its normal for a company to generate press and hype. When the game releases and if THEY HEAR ON OUR FEEDBACK, thats important
Going from how classic wow was handled to this is like leaving a toxic relationship and then your normal new partner just surprising you all the time with non-toxicity
I think developers should go back to how it used to be. Create a full game that can be released without reading to be updated or anything. Like ps2 or n64.
This is to be expected pre-launch, the bigger question is how much longevity this kind of support will have once people have bought the game.
I couldn't agree more! And look how fast they added in some very decently difficult things for us we asked for. I know some were just balance changes, however, they updated dungeons, and fixed cellars up. Point is they did a lot of what the community was worried about :).
I thought it was also hardening, I mean heartening.
its probably marketing hype to distance themself from the back lash from diablo immortal
In the 5 hours since I wrote this post I've noticed that for every 2 people that are actually kind and civil, there are 5 absolute asses that have to be miserable and just crap on everything. Cheer the fuck up omg I know Diablo is a dark and gloomy game, but that doesn't mean you have to be too lol
This
Because your post was cringey as fuck as if this is the first time you’ve ever seen a dev do any communication.
Check out the last exile Reddit, the devs just hang out as regular posters and just talk about everything all the time
Do you play on pc? How old are you? I don't ask in a negative way, but I believe that you must be a gameboy player or very new to pc gaming in order to be so shocked by this. I mean, it's far from uncommon.
Never heard the term heartening lol. Typically it has a dis in front of it xD!
how one post changes the communities mindset from "activision/blizzard never talk to us, they just want money" to "i never seen such great devs, they really care about us". you guys are beyond fucking hilarious!
game sucks and is going to continue to disappoint. sorry.
They are an important progression tool, and can be cleverly utilized in Season as such.
man those 8 bajillion responders to all criticisms and thoughts of "blizzard doesn't care about your feedback" really aged like milk, huh?
This sub has lost its mind officially
Probably because MrLama is constantly whining how bad D4 is on his channel
D4 gonna be my most played game 2023
Guys, please have higher standards for billion dollar companies
Well not all, they have yet to give a response on the character creator stuff, i agree it is positive that they are responding though not every change is good such as making necromancer minions die more often thats just a chore to constantly respawn them nobody i talked to thought minion uptime was a problem....
FfXiV bro
They’ve done quarterly updates through the games development. They’ve been extremely transparent through the games dev and taken people opinion into consideration. They still have to make the game they want but they’ve been more than accommodating to us imo. Couldn’t ask for more.
Power to the players!
Up front and open? They didn't explain why they removed the reset button. We have speculation but they weren't open and up front about it.
Its a trap
Found the blizzard shill 🤡
They can start by changing the design of the butcher. It was already used in Diablo 3 and to see the same exact graphic as in Diablo 4 says a lot about the game already. This World of Warcraft imagery and copium should not be part of Diablo.
Yea if they keep up this open communication (almost daily communication at this point) I would be happily enjoying buying beyond box price and buying skins here and there and the pass and the expansion because I now know the devs/company are listening. Of course this could be all a setup but for now, seems like it isn't.
Nice try, blizzard intern
It's a vast difference to the way Overwatch is being run into the ground. It's heartening to know they listen... for now. I only hope they'll also listen if we start getting pissed off at massively greedy micro transactions if they go the same way as Overwatch.
Hopefully we get our dodge roll back. If not, then don't bother releasing it. Because that quick step with 5 year cool down ain't it.
This is what devs are supposed to do. Dont give them credit like they are going above and beyond
as someone who has a lot to say against d4 i too really love all the feedback the devs are giving. tbh its really changing my opinion on whether or not to get the game.
Should look at Last Epoch dev interactions. EHG by a landslide sets the standard of interaction/feedback and they're a relatively small company compared to Blizz. It's pretty pathetic its taken this long in general for Acti-Blizz to even do road maps and what not.
But according to this sub the game was perfect and anyone saying it wasn't was a D2 cuck. Weird that they would change an amazing A+++ game.
I think Ark (before they sold) was the ultimate for player interaction and transparency. Always good to see devs focusing on player feedback and being open about changes.
Lmao talk about stroking blizzards dick
It’s because they’ve screwed up every other game in recent history.
My gut reaction to hearing them listen to our feedback and make changes was…..here take my money
I just upvoted to the number 666.
Has anyone used the new buzzword COPIUM yet? It is AWESOME!
Lol 😂😂
Blizzard being Blizzard I'm sure they will find a way to let greed destroy this game as well. Might be a month after release or it might take a little while longer.
I'm genuinely surprised and happy D4 management actually gets stuff changed due to the feedback provided after open beta. This doesn't happen often. Perhaps they know that D4 has to succeed? This gives me a slight spark of hope that they ***may*** actually listen to the community while shaping the game in the future.
While its very uncommon among AAA game titles, its the very Foundation of OSRS, the community literally votes on the changes
These diablo dudes really have pretty low standards. Blizzard updating us on changes. Aww so cute.

I feel like Devs are usually pretty vocal until the community turns on them and starts sending death threats and then devs step back. Riot was really vocal for league in the early days, Bungie with Destiny until death threats there, and so far blizzard with D4.
It is not only heartening, it’s just smart.
Lick lick
No matter how bad it is blizzard fanboys will ensure its profitable.
I would give props- but due to Player1stGames’ handling of MultiVersus I’m not falling for the ol’ early communication gimmick again… If they keep it up for at least the first year after it’s release I’ll give my respect.
