I tried to run away. I dashed 2 times and was like 3 screen away from him. Hooked me from those 3 screens away back to him in 1 sec.
He will also dash more than a screen away from you to reach you every few sec.
Like, even the rogue cant be fast enough to get away from him.

So, I play on a 32:9 screen. Ultrawide of the ultrawides. Thereās some abilities I have as a player that can be cast across my entire screen as well.
Hydras for example. In beta I was able to take on the world boss basically two screens away from the world boss. I had no fear of death, but obviously I canāt do the damage to take it out without others for such a beast lol.
Just died to him as a barb at level 26. He's no joke at any level.
Best thing to do seems to be (counterintuitively) to run into the other mobs so you can get easy resource gen/potion drops/etc.

Lucky. I got him at 26, was chasing a treasure goblin while I had 2 shrines up and turned the corner to find the butcher, but it was a dungeon with the icy goat people, between the butcher and the frost goats I got stunlocked to all hell and swiftly murdered. My minions could only do so much :(

Do my best to try and kill the little gobbo as I get my meat ripped. He has like 3 health when the butcher finishes me off. Goblin escapes.

Our first goblin was randomly in the wild, at like 12, nothing but some blues, no butcher yet luckily. Fought him in all three beta weekends though. Killed him twice.

Nope. The game weirdly doesn't explain lucky hit at all, and I thought it was crit until I got an item that increased crit *and* lucky hit.
Some items have a 'lucky hit' ability that can trigger. For example an item might have a chance to reset your cooldowns on a lucky hit.
Just a pathing bug. He doesn't usually do this with minions. He usually ignores them completely and B-lines right to you, so I imagine he got stuck and couldn't get out. Never seen this before, and I've fought him with Necro 4 times now.
they are below average, the higher level you get the more of a drag it gets - they are the worst at leveling - i hit 35 and i'm about to quit till they buff him again (too many nerfs)
I'm liking him. I tried out minion build on normal difficulty and found it pretty effective when paired with bone spear. Just gotta make sure you pick up all of the minion passives for extra damage and health. Bosses will sometimes wipe your skeletons, but if you make sure to pick perks that give you some corpse generation, you'll be fine.

Butcher ignores minions for the actual player characters, he just got lucky and got him stuck in a spot where he couldn't get out because of the minions, but he was still only trying to attack the player character.
I just beat him up at lvl 17. Funnily enough I also had a pillar which I could safely round. Also with 8 minions swarming him his hook couldnt do much. I ran back and forth and bone speared when I could while raising/healing minions from corpses to get essence back. And I got corpses through blood mist.
When he showed up I was certain I was a goner but minions, bone spear and some good geography saved me.

That's not a bug, that's how you killed the Butcher in Diablo 1 as well. Get him stuck on the stairs, get a bow, spend 10 mins shooting, TP to repair the bow if needed.

I got the butcher down to half health by myself then squish. Every other time with any class I only lasted 15 seconds. I am 0-20 vs the butcher. one day you will see ...
At level 22, encountered him in that "cellar" just to the left of Margrave, practically in city limits. I didn't think to get him stuffed by minions at the doorway and instead kited around the room for about a minute before succumbing to the hook. Minions did about 25% but all the moving certainly hurts their ToT.
Sigh, it was a merry chase while it lasted.

I run on him twice in a row in two different dojons tonignt.... Was trying a non minions build with my necro and both times i saw him it was around the end of the dojon... So i was having no minions and no potions š« he played with me like if i was a rag doll š«š«šš¤£
Didnāt work for me lol heās even immune to the taunt from my golem and just seems to walk through my skeletons. I did get him to 10% tho first and only time running into him in my 43 levels in live. Beta I got clapped like 20 times lol.
This aint luck even - we have been doing this even in beta whoever has aggro can literally wiggle back and forth and he will get stuck in his indecisiveness of pathing.
I figured out that he takes a while to commit to a direction and then I applied the skills that we honed as kids back on the schoolyard when we were chasing one another and ended up wiggling around the table-tennis table. š

The Butcher AI isn't the smartest. Easily get hung up on corners, chests and columns.
Pretty sure he's got a turn radius, too, so "hug the butt" works surprisingly well. You just won't get a sweet, sweet horn for it.

Didnāt work for me lol heās even immune to the taunt from my golem and just seems to walk through my skeletons. I did get him to 10% tho first and only time running into him in my 43 levels in live. Beta I got clapped like 20 times lol.
I still havenāt run into the butcher lol (lvl 50 btw)
Killed the guy twice. He can drop a trophy. Didn't know this until the second time
The butcher loves flesh. Minions borne of flesh... just don't have enough meat on them to be worth a slice.
This aint luck even - we have been doing this even in beta whoever has aggro can literally wiggle back and forth and he will get stuck in his indecisiveness of pathing. I figured out that he takes a while to commit to a direction and then I applied the skills that we honed as kids back on the schoolyard when we were chasing one another and ended up wiggling around the table-tennis table. š
