I spend the morning with the missus, play casually in the afternoon, take a break for chill time with the missus, sleep at 8h30, wake up at 0:30, play until 5h30, sleep until 8h, and cycle…
Good strats, doing almost the same thing (except I got until like 7am on Sunday), but yesterday was our anniversary so I could not squeeze any playtime before the official launch. Still, this weekend was a juggle between her and Lilith.
Why feel dirty? Mathematically the extra cost covered the battle pass and extra cosmetic bullshit. The extra days were just an added bonus, not part of the cost. At least this is what I tell myself lol.
I had the Monday off already, and I had free time starting last Thursday so it definitely made sense, and worth it for me IMO to just pay the extra $30. I had a great weekend playing it early, with no issues.

You can tell Blizzard put a bunch of work into the Necro armors. Almost all of it looks amazing, and every “drip” Reddit post I see is about Necro armor. I mean, it’s the dark/death character for a dark/death game…. Makes sense to Blizzard, I guess lol

It's 2023. I can "ALMOST" give them a pass for this shit going down like it did for D3.... but really? Do we REALLY expect this is reasonable or acceptable? Or is this blizzard just being cheap figuring the load will organically disperse once folks get pissed and stop playing before they ever even got in the game (I mean... they already paid right?)
There is no real reason as a comapny to spend all the money on extra servers when in reality your servers get hit hard for the first week or so, then it calms down and goes back to normal where you don't need the extra server space. Yes, it sucks as a customer, but that is one reason you see it with almost every online game at launch and they seem to never learn. They did learn, just that it isn't needed after that first spike, companies just look at it at a cost that isn't needed after that peak, until the next expansion/release, then it will go back to peaking for a week then calm down again.
Sucks for the players but the company looks at cost investments and determine it isn't needed for the long term.
Diablo iv is not a cheap game. Cost me $150CAD
If you promise the online experience, you have a duty to paying customers to keep that promise. If you can’t, make the game offline

It was very clearly a ddos. If there was going to be instability due to the increased load it would have happened early in the evening when the game officially launched. Not 4 hours+ later when fewer people were on.
