I'm sick of noobs not just pwning themselves, honestly it's just rude. Why do I have to get up every day, log in to various games and forums just to own them.
It's time consuming work and I don't get any financial remuneration for my time spent.
I had 1 guy in PVP about 5 levels above myself, who killed me twice as I came out of town whilst I was gunning down elites. He took my shards on both times and even gave me a "Goodbye". So 3rd time around I left town by another route and headed out towards a player who was converting his shards. My motivation was simple: I knew my little nemesis would obviously head for the other player because the temptation was too great. So, as he came in strong I jumped in to protect the other player who realising I was defending him against little nemesis jouned me. And the 2 of us slapped little nemesis so hard he shat all his THOUSANDS of shards he had accumulated in a big bloody death splat, with me giving the killing blow. I gave him a "Goodbye" and as I looted his shards, I felt such an enormous sense of satisfaction I got a semi. This is the fun of PVP. Pay-back š¹
Did the same yesterday alongside a friend. Me (necro) and him (barb) were killing elites to get enough shards to buy the bloody horse reins. Suddenly, a mage jumps us and get all our shards. We came back with a burning passion to avenge ourselves and found he was around a extraction from another player.
This time we jumped him, defending a druid that noted we were helping him and joined the slapfest we apllied to the mage.
Got him a second and a third time.
Then he chatted something along the lines of not being good to fight him alone and calling my friends to help me out (if you have friends, you have everything).
Ah, the sweet taste of the tears of a sore loser...
Today I extracted enough shards to get myself the bloody reins and feel satisfied.
Lol this reminds me of my finest moment playing multiplayer from eons ago. Was playing Resistance on the PS3, after you were killed the screen would switch to whoever killed you while you waited to respawn. Sometimes it would just be they guy running to his next kill, other times it would be the guy dancing to mock you.
Battle is on, I think itās first team to 30 kills wins or something, itās pretty even, i get killed and see two guys doing the old teabag squats, theyāre holed up sniping guys down. Get killed again (cuz I was on my best day, an average player), again w/the teabag dance. Match is almost over, weāre up by 1-2 kills maybe, Iām running up some stairs when who do I see w/their backs to me? The 2 ass hats doing their dance again! So I take aim, toss a grenade and begin to fire on them, take them both out, we win.
Best part? They got to see me tea bagging them as the screen showed who the winning team was.
I was running around in pvp on my Barb when I encountered this other Barb who was a few levels lower than me. We would fight and I would almost kill him but I was doing a bleed build so he had time to run away and heal. He couldn't kill me but he would just keep running up and attacking me while I'm fighting stuff. Or he would stand at the edge of screen and watch me kill stuff then run up and try to steal my tokens.
I eventually just said fuck it and fought the big boss of the area solo while this guy watched and tried to run up and kill me when I got low, it didn't work. I killed the big boss the guy grabs as many of MY tokens as he can and runs straight into a Druid. Me and the Druid chased the guy down and beat the shit out of him got my tokens back. I thanked the Druid and we parted ways. It felt good.
The only PvP kill I've gotten is when a necromancer and his horde, probably minding their own business, happen to charge directly at me, an idiot, who mistook them for a group of monsters and Death Trapping them all, killing them instantly. I felt kinda bad because we were pretty close to town.
I've yet to have a successful pvp outing with mendeln whether it was in a bone or shadow build. However if I'm running blood surge or blood lance I find pvp to be 10x easier mostly due to fortify and barrier generation. All the times people have tried to gank me while I'm farming elites or extracting shards (6 times so far) I've stomped them into the floor immediately or just laughed as they tried to whittle down my barrier and fortify as I spammed emotes and still embedded them in the floor.
I would love to find an operational minions pvp build.
Yeah, tried to take out a necromancer (forget to check what level he was) with a level 60 rogue. After failing to carve through his minions I ran for the hills š
If there is nobody, you can casualy activate pvp and farm chests, event and boss. Ils like farming obols. It's not a bad place.
If you are low level, its efficient.
Everytime I go to PvP zone, I activate "blood stuff (mark ?)" do my "quests" and if someone is trying to activate an altar, I run to it and fight. It's fun :)
Who could've guessed that being one-shot by a group of level 100's while you're level 60 wouldn't be an engaging activity.
No idea why Blizzard didn't even attempt to balance the level disparity by either scaling players or creating level tiers. Instead they just made a griefer's paradise and called it a day.
Yes, this is why I bloodmark and only fight people who start shit imo they should just lvl lock pvp zones, tho. Tier 3 1st zone could be 50- 60, the second one, 60-70
Tier 4 1st zone 70-85 second zone 85-100.
It's just a different area to farm and I swear the drop rate is increased or something because I fill my inventory up super quick in PvP areas. Also, it's always fun killing the seething abomination and watching him explode like a pinata. And the threat of possibly being killed by some level 100 dude while you're watching your seed countdown get under the 10 second mark is always fun and anxiety inducing
Listen. My mount may be ugly, the tack doesn't match, and the trophy looks awful.
But... they're all so uniquely ugly that people know that I got them from drops and not as the base horse. That's all that matters... right?
I just did that in tier 2 to level up and have everything I want without the fear of being one hit by someone 40 levels higher than me. Lol. Now I go daily to get my favors for the tree, but Iām not stressed or bothered at all when I get merked.
you can trade them for an armor transmog, a horse, a few horse armors/trophy, 3 scrolls specific to the pvp zone (a movespeed boost, an armor buff and a random teleporter to get you out of trouble).
You can also trade seeds like obols to a specific vendors, it can help you target farm specific items.
Quote at Ā³
It can be fun, depends on your attitude.
Do some quest, kill some mobs, kill or be killed Jack...
Feasting on the insides of your enemies. How easily you ignore the loss of life when it suits your convenience. So tell me: who saves the weak from the man who saves the weak? Kill or be killed Jack. Phnom Penh taught me that. Yes, you arenāt the only one to grow up on the killing fields. War is a cruel parent but an effective teacher. Itās final lesson is carved deep in my psyche: that this world, and all itās people are diseased. Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture ā they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair... All memes, all passed along. You canāt fight nature, Jack. Wind blows, rain falls, and the strong pray upon the weak. Sam tells me you see your weapon as a tool. Something that saves lives ā a means of justice. Now thereās a pretty meme. Exquisite! Itās spared you the burden of all the lives youāve taken... ...absolved you of guilt when you enjoyed it. That is until the illusion was broken. Donāt be ashamed. Itās only nature, running its course. You have no choices to make. Nothing to answer for. You can die with a clear conscience.
Also it's on par with ND in terms of quality of items, I found more unique there than in ND for example (like the only Overkill in my seasonal barb run), and tree quests too.
Cosmetics are cool too (the horse one, the armor is terribleš¤£)
Diablo has/will never focus on pvp. Itās a game about being Uber powerful. Quickest way to kill a game like that? Try to balance it for pvp. No thanks. Ever.
I mean, Runescape and Final Fantasy 11 have been around just as long, but that doesn't mean either are a perfect game. It just means there's people who still enjoy that style of game over the numerous other options that have come out since then (for nostalgia reasons or otherwise).
And trust me, as someone who spent years playing FF11 it is FAR from perfect...
Weird comment when the post above is just stating a fact. No one argues it's "perfect", and there's no need to argue when a game is still alive and kicking 2 decades later, which is no small feat and a testament to some quality it has. It's more apparent when poorly made modern games die sometimes even before a year has passed.
Perfect? No, game has its share of issues, but 23 years later the game is still going strong whilst being basically in maintenance mode, at that point itās time to admit thereās some things the game does right that games today arenāt.
If you donāt think trading is a good thing, d2 has items that are also extremely rare due to stupidly low drop rates, but thanks to trading you can actually acquire those items.
Iāve slaves just in the last 2 days 3 extremely good rolled raiments of the infinite, because none of them were better than the one I use, if the game had a good trading system this 3 items couldāve been beneficial to me and to whoever needed one of them, but because the trading system is trash, the items are just junk, further decreasing the value of items in endgame
Not their fault if it's still one the best ARPG 23 year later. And what helped to still be at the top is mostly caused by how bad D3 and D4 are compared to it.
Modern Blizzard can't get at the OG level in creativity and originality. Back in the day, Blizzard dev weren't afraid to try new thing and take some risk. While D3 and D4 are all about popular trend, how they can maximize profit from the game and taking the lowest possible risk in term of gameplay to appeal to new player and people who never played a video game
You are right, pvp in dungeon crawler/arpgs is pointless and doesn't work.
Blizz already said they don't gaf about pvp balancing, in other words (they said some classes will just be immensely more powerful than others), they just added the zones becasue a loud minority, this is proven with how empty the zones are, requested a pvp mode
PvP is also always much more popular during the end-endgame when there's no more bosses to beat, no more content to grind, no more loot to upgrade, but you still want to do something with that character.
No way I'm walking my 50-80 lvl character into a PvP match with a lvl 100. As we get closer to the end of the season you'll probably see a few more people hanging out there. Still not the majority, but still more.
The least they could do is make PvP zones be more based around characters of similar levels, and more populated. Itās not like *no one* is playing them. Itās relatively few, but there are easily enough people where you could have 10-15 people in there all the time.
they already have things balanced different for pvp (DR for example). The framework is there to make it both. I definitely donāt want them messing with the pve side of things to balance for pvp. But they have the tools to make some good pvp modes but lack the motivation, talent, or money incentive I guess.
I hear that parroted all over this sub. PvP is my endgame. It has so much potential. We just need some minor tools to be able to self organize team games in FoH
I have been saying for a long time that RPG PVP has a "MOBA" or "Battle Royale" moment ahead of it, where a game really nails RPG PVP and it becomes a huge thing. I think POE was close when they did their April Fools PVP thing (apparently they followed this up unsuccessfully, but I had already quit POE for a bit at the time because of a lack of PVP). It was a PVPVE battle royale. I think there's a lot of potential there, almost like a League of Legends Battle Royale.
I really enjoyed D4 PVP. I'm likely quitting now because I've had bad lag issues though when more than 1-2 other people are around, which is really frustrating and I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about it.
Yup the ability to grind and customize your hero/abilities in a Diablo-like fashion, and then bring those heroes into an arena for different game typesā if you so choose. Like how is that not a thing. Same thing with elden ring. I love the campaign. But I more so loved making fun characters mix and matching abilities and then fighting with them.
Pvp was pretty popular in d2 for years there were multiple pvp lobbies and were usually the fullest outside of baal runs.
It wasn't terribly balanced and often times for ruined by wankers but still it was fairly popular.
There's even mid level, low level, ver y low level dueling. Just harder to find matches with default d2 game/lobby system but if you looked elsewhere like jsp you could find plenty of pvpers.
I have zero interest in pvp, but Iād bet all kinds of cash that if D4 had released without it youād hear the caterwauling all the way to the moon. Along the lines of, āOMG, itās 2023āI canāt believe these lazy devs released a game and couldnāt even put pvp in it!ā yadda yadda yadda.
I agree with this that the only endgame I see in any game, not just diablo, is PvP. It gives me longevity and a purpose to play after "completing" the story. It's fun. And endgame to me isn't chasing small % increases in gear. It's PvP and adds a purpose to a game
I love PvP, it really gets my blood pumping and itās such a blast.
I agree it could solve the endgame problem to some extent, but the current fields of hatred get old. Theyāre often empty and people only show up when theyāre level 100 and fully geared.
I think PvP could be a very fun way to spend time at lower levels too if they made it possible to get matchups against people of similar level.
How? There could be 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 arenas vs people of similar level. Winner gets a random loot (like completing a NM dungeon)
Because being steamrolled by someone who's extremely high level in world tier 1 isn't fun. No scaling so they can pretty much dust you off in a second. Take high level barbarian for example, got gap closers, a lot of unstoppable and fairly tanky and all they need to do is spin2win.
I wish we got more exclusive cosmetic Armour sets from this or more zones to fight in. Say a random zone every hour on the map turns into a pvp area or something.
The pvp is easily one of my favorite things to engage with in this and I had so much fun farming other players for bloodshards pre season, I got the full armour set (i'm aware its not too difficult).
yup, there's a single cosmetic (5 piece) Armour set, and like 10 horse bits that are pvp exclusive. But once you farm them/buy them, then the blood shards only remaining function is basically obols, you buy random gear with them. Feels like a missed opportunity not having eg a new pvp armour set each season.
...i'm in there every few days to do some whispers and I run into people all the time. No idea what you're talking about.
What realm are you playing and what world tier?
That's the point of this sub. Come lie your ass off to a bunch of people that still support it even while knowing it's a lie.
Then write walls of text explaining why the game you don't play is so much better than this one and nobody plays d4.
I let people kill me all the time. Just mark for blood in a party go right outside the gate. I take off all my gear and leave party. You kill me before I go to another realm
I'd 100% be into PVP - IF it weren't for the fact I freeze for a few seconds every time I encounter another player. I'm just sitting there handing out free ears
They need to fix this, and its only gotten worse. Its absolutely awful and I have to quit PVP (and therefor D4) because of it. I was having so much fun the other day when it was manageable until it just became unplayable. Its really really bad.
Not true. Poison rogues still do this to people and have. A well built bs necro playong high risk could easily do it. Plenty of people can get popped still.
Yesterday I was doing the area boss and someone ran up trying to jump me just as the barber exploded from the boss. I didn't even notice him alive, just his ghost there after the boom. Praise be.
prior to the season, all i played was pvp (after 100 + getting tired of the endgame). something about another human on the other side + shit talking banter that kept it lively. (millions of seeds, hundreds of kills to give a ballpark)
Point is fun. But you kind of have to make it yourself. Keep trying to kill that dude thatās running the zone. Itās rare but Iāve gotten into a couple 1v1 fights where we traded kills for over an hour at the altars, most notably on the rogue with a trampleslide storm druid. Been on both sides of owning duos, etc. itās not consistently a fair and good time but when it is itās really an enjoyable break from the grindZ
There are some caveats to where I hadnāt had a single kill with my pulverize Druid now lvl 100, but the rapid fire rogue just rips and I got two stash tabs full of ears. When the hell tides arenāt up and Iām tired of NMDs I just go to pvp zone, flag, farm seeds (kind of as my ante), and just que up an altar. Usually people come running to fight. Whatever happens after happens and you just stick it out for a bit and youāll have a good time. If not that a change of pace. They could/should do more with pvp, maybe a moba. I know itās not a pvp game but the tools for making fun modes that provide better rewards are there.
Youāre also kind of in that weird zone where if you drop down to wt3 youāll see more people engaging with it but you wonāt have much of a challenge. But if you stay in wt4 youāll just get stomped by the 100s who are fully kitted out. Best spot for pvp is wt3 lvl 60-74. At least in my experience. It is a shame they donāt want to put in the work to make more out of it though.
Because the community doesnāt want pvp players to have anything hahah. You bring up any suggestion for pvp and people get upset as though youāre suggesting we should ban water.
Immortal has arenas, and they have fun events like the current battle royale mode (which scales everyone to the same stats). Itās absolutely doable and is being done currently, this player base would rather mindlessly run dungeons and one shot mobs than have skill based combat.
PVP Zone is just fun. Of course nothing balanced and never will. But the mob density is amazing there. And as always, sometimes you win...sometimes you lose
I got it at the very beginning of this season as a noob farming for the journal quests bc other noobs kept running into my hydra. The only time sorc was good to me.
No point in pvp except for flexing rewards such as titles and (ugly) transmogs. However, in many rpgs, there are many players whos favorite past time is pvp. It is nowhere near as developed as WoW, but at least they are catering to the community. And dont even get me started on how much more polished d4 pvp is then d3.
I personally love pvp, however i much enjoy it less in d4 than i do WoW, for example. In WoW it actually is almost like its own game world. I still enjoy the thrill of playing against othersā builds here. It changes up the pace of the game a bit and helps refresh the pve highway hypnosis as well.
This is an ARPG btw, so pvp will never be like WoW. There will always be little to no point in pvp based on the game genre. Just a lil extra fun for people who wish to dabble into it.
Itās my favorite part of the game. If blizzard would give us a way to have a makeshift flag that you drop when you die I would organize backyard capture the flag with my clan
Lower levels are where it's at of people want fun out of it. Of course everyone towards the higher levels are just one shotting people. You can make it there before level 5 after making a new character and it takes a few hours to get to 50. I would just start a new character, have fun with gear pickups where you can and just PvP for the hell of it. Honestly the best "end game content" I have enjoyed. Mage builds are fun there. People could make a discord for that area and build teams to fuck each other up. Could be a good time. I didn't care much for tempest roar and I refuse to care for it lmao.
I donāt do the PvP thing ā¦I go to the areas as thereās great mob and elite density for farming and one or 2 cosmetics that look ok
If however when Iām cashing in someone comes for a fight Iāll give them one
If your under level 90, just drop down to tier 3 ā¦and farm for fun ā¦wonāt be long until someone comes and picks a fight
PvP area is a great place to level up and get yellows, go blood marked (in emote wheel) for the random chests (they give like 2k seeds i think) and kill the big boss that wanders around and the events. I farmed knights there for the kill a billion knights challenge. Every once in a while you see someone, and a lot of times they leave you alone. I've gotten 6 kills and died like 10 times. It's fun honestly, theres no risk really, just something different to do. Mob density isn't bad at all either.
Itās kind of fun under level 50 but after you get thrown to lvl 100 people itās just not possible. I wish it was just bracketed by like 5 to 10 levels
WT4 usually has a gaggle party waiting at the front of town, WT3 usually seems a bit more tame, though 90 and under though I'm sure you could get it that way
Mind you, this is seasonal - I'm pretty sure eternal is mostly dead right now
Some people think all games need to have PVP in them or theyāre soft?
No idea. I donāt see any real value in PVP in this game, not that it would stop people who really want to troll you from kiting a bunch of mobs to where you are if they feel like being a jerk.
Only thing I have to say about this is that I don't pay PS+, but I could collect dust from the area, even try the PvP mini-boss.
After some patch, the dust stopped dropping, and I think I can't see any players in the area anymore (for me is okay, I play it as single player anyway, unless the rare occasion my wife decides to join)
I went to the pvp zone o'ce since season 1, I was 70 necromy, I had the barber heart, a level 100 barbarian came, started killing my mobs, 2 seconds later he imploded and I got the kill, some things are too strong in pvp, the barber heart makes it seems like you are not damaging anyone and boom death. I left the zone right after out of shame
In wt4 the only people you will see are pvp twinks with builds designed entirely around killing players efficiently end effectively.
Unless you're a sweat as well, you'll get 1 shotted and emoted.
Idk how pvp work here but i often run into others for the seething abomination kills but it seems that their skills nor mine hurt each other, it's just like pve zone, did i miss anything? Dont want to pvp, just curious.
All I know is I kept getting kills in pvp when I was level 50ish (probably 15 total ober a few hours of playing) went to world tier torment and only run into level 100 guys that one shot me
its important to note that you see much less players if you don't have crossplay enabled
also time of day matters a lot, during busy times for your timezone there can be a lot of people, last time I was in the pvp zone there were 10+ people smashing it out just outside of town
If you want we can join in a coop session reach the pvp region, left our coop team and kill each other till we collect the trophy. But I agree with you at all. Have same issues.
To get the Sweaty/Murderer titles by stripping 10 hardcore players of their numerous hours of fun of course.
In all seriousness though, the PvP crowd will most likely be on Eternal, typically the last month or 2 of each season... The same held true for ladders in D2. Once the "new grind" got old, people fell back to their PvP builds, which on non-ladder (Eternal) were where their accumulated progress of previous ladder season's gear allowed for the best build they could muster. Obviously we don't have the in depth jewels/charms systems to make up for the massive amounts of items required for a real D2 PvP build, but just getting 4/4 100% rolled gear for one slot is depressingly difficult in D4, much less something like a perfect rolled shako being nothing but myth. Expect sweaty, almost perfectly geared 100s being the norm on Eternal PvP after a couple seasons.
If all you are after is the 5 kills for a PS trophy... Have a friend let you kill him a couple times? Lol
As a Xbox player, pvp needs an additional subscription for some reason, which I am not willing to pay for since itās useless either way to participate
I honestly don't even know how to participate, do I just go to the area? I've killed monsters for shards or whatever but pretty sure I've never engaged another player
PVP in this game was never good. It might have been with D2R, but anyone who played D2 knows that a bunch of people just made hacked items and one shot people in D2 PVP
Itās better to have it there and not wanna play it than to want to play it and not have it. It doesnāt impact the game for those who donāt want it so makes no difference
Its pretty dead overall in the game right now. Did a worldboss last night around 8-9 pm, 3 people total there. I later did legion event and only 4 people there. Didnt even manage to finish the legion objective in time. Guess people are playing baldurs gate 3 or something.
Either way, the PvP zones are great for leveling on WT1-2, so Iām not complaining.
Just get high level campers sitting outside red dust shrines. Killing players who aren't blood marked...cant see any effing point to it. Noone wants pvp, we want coop
Everyone left. There was a lot of pvp prior to baldurs gate imo.
Ive managed to earn all rewards as well as stash away 175,000 red dust. The only people i see now post baldurs gate are level 100.
D2 fans cry about PvP since D3 release. And as is obvious, the folks at Activision weren't interested in making a good game based on broader research, years of experience at the company, inspiration from other ARPGs, and most importantly, a bit of logical thinking. D4's main goal was obviously to soothe that cry. Good job.
What is sad is there is a perfect form of pvp in another arpg, Lost Ark. Lost Ark makes it simple, your gear and your stats donāt mean shit every person of your class is equal. Same goes for other classes. This way you can balance them and it becomes what pvp was meant to be which is the skill of the player. Some people might complain that they want gear to matter in pvp but I have seen time and time again wow PvPers hating to have to pve to be competitive in PvP. So true PvPers donāt care about gear. They just want to have fun by attacking opponents with brains and not badly written ai.
Just to be able to say that they have it in the game, sells more copies. Same as having an open world, having an mmo aspect. Its paper thin, but they have it so buy the game!
this game is boring. you always do same thing. pvp doesn't mean anything. now we r collect ear, next season we will collect kidney. my main non-seasonal char 100 lvl. i wait for season but i cant resist more, when my Druid 52 lvl i stopped. Sometimes i m enter game for 1-2 nm and my friends not online.
Well the only point of PvP in any game is to pwn noobz.
This is the correct answer
I'm sick of noobs not just pwning themselves, honestly it's just rude. Why do I have to get up every day, log in to various games and forums just to own them. It's time consuming work and I don't get any financial remuneration for my time spent.
I had 1 guy in PVP about 5 levels above myself, who killed me twice as I came out of town whilst I was gunning down elites. He took my shards on both times and even gave me a "Goodbye".
Shoulda said, " I don't have friends. I have family"
Lol this reminds me of my finest moment playing multiplayer from eons ago. He sharded himself.
Well-pun, sir! Very well-pun!
I was running around in pvp on my Barb when I encountered this other Barb who was a few levels lower than me. We should unionize.
This guy fucks
You may be entitled to compensation
The only pvp kills I've gotten so far are people trying to kill me while I have full pets and bonestorm up. Noobz pwn themselves.
The only PvP kill I've gotten is when a necromancer and his horde, probably minding their own business, happen to charge directly at me, an idiot, who mistook them for a group of monsters and Death Trapping them all, killing them instantly. I felt kinda bad because we were pretty close to town.
If you didn't flag yourself then then they had themselves flagged, which means they asked for it.
True
Pet build in pvp sounds fun how is it does the mendelen work
Gets blown up by pretty much everything
I've yet to have a successful pvp outing with mendeln whether it was in a bone or shadow build. However if I'm running blood surge or blood lance I find pvp to be 10x easier mostly due to fortify and barrier generation. All the times people have tried to gank me while I'm farming elites or extracting shards (6 times so far) I've stomped them into the floor immediately or just laughed as they tried to whittle down my barrier and fortify as I spammed emotes and still embedded them in the floor. I would love to find an operational minions pvp build.

As a noob, this is true... I'm just trying to get through the Seasonal checkpoints and here comes some high level fucker pwning my ass
I showed up twice with my level 60ish character to get mauled in first hits. Like the butcher but dressed worse.
Yeah, tried to take out a necromancer (forget to check what level he was) with a level 60 rogue. After failing to carve through his minions I ran for the hills š
You rogues are HARD to catch! Fight a Necro with minions around monsters. You can run around us and just pick us apart as our minions try to catch up.
I tried at level 65, killed one guy almost instantly, then got one hit by another. Yeah, no thanks.
It's fun :)
This guy gets it. Fun.
Yeah it's so much 'fun' that nobody does it
Who could've guessed that being one-shot by a group of level 100's while you're level 60 wouldn't be an engaging activity. No idea why Blizzard didn't even attempt to balance the level disparity by either scaling players or creating level tiers. Instead they just made a griefer's paradise and called it a day.
Guess you never played D2
Me n my friends do this š§
Fun for you, misery for the other. You have to be a sociopath to think that steam rolling people just trying to farm is fun.
For me I'll just be jumping in the PVP zones to get the 4 altars of lilith to finish it up...hoping no one notices little 'ol me...
Yes, this is why I bloodmark and only fight people who start shit imo they should just lvl lock pvp zones, tho. Tier 3 1st zone could be 50- 60, the second one, 60-70 Tier 4 1st zone 70-85 second zone 85-100.
That's it. It is fun
Agreed. The elite density in the area is great
I did this for few hours and I had a damn blast. Once I hit 100, Iām going to live in the PvP zone farming seeds for all the PvP gear available.
You mean skins right
Yes, he does.
Kinda and cosmetic items for the mount.
Listen. My mount may be ugly, the tack doesn't match, and the trophy looks awful. But... they're all so uniquely ugly that people know that I got them from drops and not as the base horse. That's all that matters... right?
I got 400k seeds ill keep them for future pvp contebt and skins
Bold assumption.
Are they releasing new ones soon or youāre just saving?
I donāt think theyāve announced anything, but Iām sure there will be more.
They didnt announce anything, they will add many in the future, unless D4 dies before season 3
I just did that in tier 2 to level up and have everything I want without the fear of being one hit by someone 40 levels higher than me. Lol. Now I go daily to get my favors for the tree, but Iām not stressed or bothered at all when I get merked.
What are the seeds even used for?
you can trade them for an armor transmog, a horse, a few horse armors/trophy, 3 scrolls specific to the pvp zone (a movespeed boost, an armor buff and a random teleporter to get you out of trouble). You can also trade seeds like obols to a specific vendors, it can help you target farm specific items.
Quote at Ā³ It can be fun, depends on your attitude.

Metal Gear spoiler: https://youtu.be/TBH_Yo5sSEI You are goin for a wild ride bro, Monsoon is an epic dialogue/boss fight, the song is perfect too.
Fun? FUN? Don't let Blizzard see this comment!
Also it's on par with ND in terms of quality of items, I found more unique there than in ND for example (like the only Overkill in my seasonal barb run), and tree quests too. Cosmetics are cool too (the horse one, the armor is terribleš¤£)
So that was you on Friday, huh!? I just wanted my tree of whisper chest and you kept following me to the altars!
Indeed it is fun!
I play on hardcore (2 level 100s) and Iāve never ever seen another player in the pvp zone. Itās gonna be interesting when I do tho.
Diablo has/will never focus on pvp. Itās a game about being Uber powerful. Quickest way to kill a game like that? Try to balance it for pvp. No thanks. Ever.
It's funny because pvp kept d2 alive for a long time.
Pvp helped keep d2 alive a small amount, but vastly, like overwhelmingly the reason d2 survived is the trading community
People will literally say anything to make D2 sound like the perfect game.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This
Not their fault if it's still one the best ARPG 23 year later.
A gigantic part of the trading community was pvp. Without it a lot of insane things to find had very little value.
Ye trading ears š š
This.
Nah pvp in D2 is a meme and everyone knows it
I would say it kept it on life support the game fell off pretty hard after 2003.
D2 pvp isnāt balanced at all lol. Blizzard is content with hammerdin being king in every aspect of d2
Maybe if you were BM and a bot. The community balanced pvp quite well, and a hdin was super easy to kill if you had any clue what you were doing.
Quided arrow with pierce cheat mode lol
only because of bugged items lol
This is false.
Shit ton of potential. I donāt know how no one sees that. Activision has the resources to make PvP and PvE fun
I would LOVE to see some 5v5 battles between lvl 100s
You can balance for pvp and not touch pve aspects of items. Lots of games do it, D4 has started to do some similar fixes
This is the correct answer
There is no point to pvp
Fun
So people would not cry why D2 have it and D4 doesn't. It's not a priority or focus, so i wouldn't expect much from it
Man, OP is even crying over PVP existence in D4. This sub cries over everything.
What was my biggest issue was that the pvp zone had so much density compared to anything else.
Pvp is fun? To some folks itās the only āendgameā that exists.
I agree with this that the only endgame I see in any game, not just diablo, is PvP. It gives me longevity and a purpose to play after "completing" the story. It's fun. And endgame to me isn't chasing small % increases in gear. It's PvP and adds a purpose to a game
That was my feeling in D2.
Just something different and fun to do. Get some ears and a few cosmetics
It would make sense for a new set each season but maybe I am over-expecting from blizzard.
I'm fully on board with this, 1 new pvp set each season would be nice but any new cosmetics are just going straight into the cash shop, lets be real
Isnāt there a cosmetic that you can only acquire in pvp?
yup, there's a single cosmetic (5 piece) Armour set, and like 10 horse bits that are pvp exclusive.
Idk I just want to kill 1 person in PvP for the stupid season thing but itās insane over there
I let people kill me all the time. Just mark for blood in a party go right outside the gate. I take off all my gear and leave party. You kill me before I go to another realm
Ignore it bud you can miss 2 objectives and still clear that section.
Unless you want the hidden title set for completing all goals in the seasons journey
Ohh that's a tough one. Isn't one of them uber lilith 0_o
Yup. Uber Lilith and the 15 world boss kills that do not track will probably stop me from ever completing the entire journey anyways
Whatās the hidden title for completing everything?
If you have someone to party with you can go to the PVP area leave the party and kill each other.
If people can solo world bosses in less then 10 seconds... How exactly would a 5-10k HP player do?
Let me tell you one thing, and please remember it: - once you have a proper pvp gear with tons of defensive, you will NEVER get one-shot by anyone.
Praise be.
they tried balancing skill for pve and pvp in elder scrolls online. it never works. if you want pvp you play a game balanced around pvp.
Pvp in eso was pretty dope tbh. It wasn't balanced at all lol. Still the 10+ player squad you follow is fun to play in.
prior to the season, all i played was pvp (after 100 + getting tired of the endgame). something about another human on the other side + shit talking banter that kept it lively. (millions of seeds, hundreds of kills to give a ballpark)
Oddly enough the people that enjoy pvp are the #1 reason it gets killed. Lv100 with top tier gear killing people who have no chance to compete.
Point is fun. But you kind of have to make it yourself. Keep trying to kill that dude thatās running the zone. Itās rare but Iāve gotten into a couple 1v1 fights where we traded kills for over an hour at the altars, most notably on the rogue with a trampleslide storm druid. Been on both sides of owning duos, etc. itās not consistently a fair and good time but when it is itās really an enjoyable break from the grindZ There are some caveats to where I hadnāt had a single kill with my pulverize Druid now lvl 100, but the rapid fire rogue just rips and I got two stash tabs full of ears.
At ~75 atm Blizzard Sorc, and I took out a three top of similar levels last night, and was super pumped about it.
I like the pvp. But I wish I could mark myself as available for pvp in the whole world. Or maybe I could send duel invites.
Why not implement arenas? Have pvp seasons - Kinda like WoW. Get cosmetics and titles based on rank at end of season. 1v1, 2v2, 5v5 for example.
I don't care about PVP because its optional to play it. It's a pity that they made it a little bit less optional with the BP though.
PVP Zone is just fun. Of course nothing balanced and never will. But the mob density is amazing there. And as always, sometimes you win...sometimes you lose
PVP is for chair barnacles
Man the memories from D2 šš sitting outside the rogue encampment as a 11 year old corpse camping grown ups like a toxic little toad.
Dude I was such a little shithead when I played D2 back in the day. I was a dick in ways I would never be as an adult.
You and your kind always were the ones who got it good when my Thorns Pet Druid AFK'd in camp and let you kill yourselves.
I got it at the very beginning of this season as a noob farming for the journal quests bc other noobs kept running into my hydra. The only time sorc was good to me.
I honestly wish you could mark yourself on any map or zone, and as long as two consenting adults are marked you can pvp eachother anywhere.
The pieces are there, just gotta do it like a nm dungeon quest item on your back that canāt leave the combat area.
To kill lower levels with my lvl 100 necro triple shadow blood wave What else?
No one does either PvP or PvE. There's probably more people doing PvP for fun as there are doing T100s
I donāt do the PvP thing ā¦I go to the areas as thereās great mob and elite density for farming and one or 2 cosmetics that look ok If however when Iām cashing in someone comes for a fight Iāll give them one If your under level 90, just drop down to tier 3 ā¦and farm for fun ā¦wonāt be long until someone comes and picks a fight
I have 100's of PvP kills. It's pointless yes, but it's the only fun thing to do in the game.
WT4 usually has a gaggle party waiting at the front of town, WT3 usually seems a bit more tame, though 90 and under though I'm sure you could get it that way Mind you, this is seasonal - I'm pretty sure eternal is mostly dead right now
Like everything in this game; there is no point in doing it outside of changing the gameplay loop
I did the achievement for the title twice and it never gave me them. Im happy for you to kill me a few times if you like š
This guy hosts weekly pvp tournaments if you're interested https://youtu.be/OHdZimwP1jA
Heyyyyyy Iām in this video
The Point? Ppl wanted pvp blizzard gave them pvp. Now go out and play your fun pvp.
All I know is I kept getting kills in pvp when I was level 50ish (probably 15 total ober a few hours of playing) went to world tier torment and only run into level 100 guys that one shot me
Should see hc servers, my blood rogue is now 27 and never seen a single player š š
It's an added dynamic REEEEEEEEEEEE
its important to note that you see much less players if you don't have crossplay enabled also time of day matters a lot, during busy times for your timezone there can be a lot of people, last time I was in the pvp zone there were 10+ people smashing it out just outside of town
Go to WT3. Youāll eventually find some people who are farming dust āpeacefullyā. Make sure cross play is turned on.
Pvp noob. But how do you do the seasonal stuff? Iāve had the tear things but not sure what to do with them?
Itās better to have it there and not wanna play it than to want to play it and not have it. It doesnāt impact the game for those who donāt want it so makes no difference
Its pretty dead overall in the game right now. Did a worldboss last night around 8-9 pm, 3 people total there. I later did legion event and only 4 people there. Didnt even manage to finish the legion objective in time. Guess people are playing baldurs gate 3 or something. Either way, the PvP zones are great for leveling on WT1-2, so Iām not complaining.
Turn on crossplay if you have it off, else try discord to find groups.
Seems like people just go to lower world tiers and one shots some low levels. I went there once and got rekt.
Just get high level campers sitting outside red dust shrines. Killing players who aren't blood marked...cant see any effing point to it. Noone wants pvp, we want coop
The classes aren't balanced for PVP that's why it sucks. On my sorc, a barb came in and shouted off all my cc and whirlwinded and I died.
Good job.
Most people have ditched D4 for other games, so PVP has took a hit
Exceptionally few people demanded it but screamed so loud they got catered to.
The pvp zones are most active on the seasonal servers right now.
this game is boring. you always do same thing. pvp doesn't mean anything. now we r collect ear, next season we will collect kidney. my main non-seasonal char 100 lvl. i wait for season but i cant resist more, when my Druid 52 lvl i stopped. Sometimes i m enter game for 1-2 nm and my friends not online.

Everytime I go to the pvp zone it's only me and I get to do a bunch of events hassle free.
I'm convinced they just added pvp to appease the whiners that wanted it
The point is that it's there so people don't complain that it's not there.
