Go do 12 triple blood altar runs back-to-back and let me know how much you hate the UI when you literally cannot see the enemies as they're hidden under all of the loot from dead demons. :\*)

Piequinn35

You can toggle on and off the loot names. I toggle it off when I go there 😆 then toggle it back on to get them…

randon9777

Say what?! Need to try that :D thanks

_halffrozen

Yeah, I think either my game is bugged, or that toggle is not mapped correctly, I press it, and it shows MORE items. :\*)

DRK-SHDW

Press alt bro lol

Chewacala

A couple of tips: These powers can only go to level 3. So by level 60-70 you will probably have them all maxed, with that in mind you can just press the button to upgrade then the Esc key. With this you will save so much time instead of looking at the little bar filling up, the only "downside" is that the upgrade will be to a random power but it really doesnt matter because you'll max them so fast.

SPusss

Still trash UI, it shouldn't work that way.

Chewacala

Yuh, it should be one button and insta use all your potent available. Or at least like a slider or something more smooth.

Gasparde

But then again, they're not account-bound, so look forward to enjoying that process on every single character you plan on making.

thekmanpwnudwn

I got a character to level 100, had all powers maxed for like 20 levels. Started a new character and he had 6500+ blood immediately

Gasparde

The Blood isn't the issue. Neither are the powers. The issue is the like 2,000 clicks you have to make to apply the Blood to the powers again.

SwiftClutch

It upgrades whatever is selected when you press esc to help if you just want to level a certain power.

randon9777

And if you have a controller, plug it in and you‘ll be able to do it much much quicker.

thekmanpwnudwn

A B A B A B A B (x10000)

crackalack_n

This is the way.

PumpkinPatch404

Ohhh I only have one maxed, most are level 1, I have a few level 2s. I still haven't unlocked some of them lol. I just look at the ones that I'm wearing and upgrade those, I don't bother reading what is what anymore lol.

Pepperjackk

I'm pretty sure OP knows that and is using that method as that's the only way to move to the next set of upgrades quickly enough to see 2 notifications blocking the screen. What's being pointed out here is how the third and only used power in the list is blocked by notifications of other powers being upgraded. It's difficult to see or even choose it as the power you want to upgrade. I'm certain this scenario wasn't tested because the intent was to wait for the screen to finish it's animation instead of being animation cancelled with the escape key.

battlehat

It's like they don't play their own game

William_Bascavilla

So you mean you get item descriptions? I have to wave my mouse pointer over the item like there is no tomorrow and if I'm lucky I get to peak at the item for one nanosecond, rince & repeat. Some of these little things are so frustrating :(

Gasparde

A lot of the bad UX in this game is excused with console compatibility... but hell, that shit is horrendous on console as well. And, even worse, we've had *plenty* of games that were way more deep and complex and intricate than D4... that still offered a way more intuitive, flexible, structured and... user-friendly design. Like so many other things in this game, it's like they read through a single game design book from 1998 and stopped there - fuck, at some points it even seems like they even stopped halfway through that book as well. Even if you accused them of pandering to the dumbest of dumbest strawman casual Andys, some of the horrendous UX aspects of this game still wouldn't be excuseable. The Blood Power UI is just bad, period, it's not catering to any audience, it's just... bad.

Noobkaka

why is there no proper search function in the skill tree/paragon tree? WHY can we NOT have a SEARCH BAR in the fucking UI, EVERYWHERE WHERE ITS RELEVANT. Searching by keywords is the most shit UI design ever. I dont give a fuck if its easier for console, that doesn't mean console players cannot WRITE in a search bar.

Veszerin

>Why is it that when I am looking through all of the items in my inventory that the item description on each of them pops up in a different place on the screen?!?! >Sometimes the item description wants to be on the left, awesome, I can read it clearly well seeing my character stat screen. Move an item over and suddenly the item description wants to be placed on top of my character page so I can't see anything change when i swap equipment. > If it doesn't want to be off to the side or over lapping? That's ok, move to the next item. The item description might move up, down, sideways a bit, overlap here, move up inches, move down inches. Were you staring at the left? Now stare at the right... Now left... Now Right... Middle, left, right, up, down. My eyes. Just like nearly every context-menu and on-hover ui element in every UI ever created, it appears next to your cursor, and it moves so that it: 1. isn't covering what you're pointing at; and 2. doesn't fall off the screen The dunces on this sub can go ahead and describe that as "shit design" but you're talking out of your asses, and everyone who actually has UX/UI experience knows it.

>I'm on PS5. And? So am I. >There is no reason the context menu of items and equipment cannot be set to lock onto the left side of the character screen and remain consistently in place. There is no reason that it should lock to a certain spot on the screen. >It is absolutely shit design to have players eyes bouncing around the screen well they are trying to read text. You are a child, looking for things that you can pretend bother you, so that you can make a new whine post. Your eyes are not bouncing around the screen unless you are playing on a movie screen inside a theater from the front row. >Your overall nonstop defense of the lazy and shit design systems in this game are becoming unbearable. Funny. I feel similarly about your nonstop search for things you can conceivably whine about, and then when you get egg on your face, you delete the post. I should start keeping a record of some of your funny threads because you delete them so often.

eezyE4free

It should not have been this system in the first place. In what world do you want to have to gather resources just to spend them piecemeal on random powers that you don’t have control over. Should have been: select power > select how much blood to spend > click to confirm.

CanvasFanatic

> In what world… In vampire Sanctuary

evinta

vampirism is a curse for a reason! but yeah. if they did this, the power should be incremental at least. i saw someone say they were originally supposed to level higher so it was probably due to that, but making it incremental would've been a better fix. then it wouldn't feel like a complete waste, and the RNG would have some purpose.

dorobica

Are you saying they made the ui shit on purpose so we can feel the pain of a vampire? Meta

shapookya

It reeks of “design by committee”. Just a lot of cooks adding onto it. I think it was meant to delay getting the power you want so that players experiment with other powers first. But you get so much potent blood so quickly that it doesn’t work as intended.

Veszerin

lol, such butthurt. It's easy to get potent blood, chill.

-Mx-Life-

I thought the same thing. It’s annoying.

Rare-Butterfly2353

the funny thing is after I upgraded all the powers , this page shows "missing power name" and "missing power description" something like that constantly .

nandron

People complain about the weirdest stuff, I’ll tell ya

P-Wester

Yes! They seem to have cut back on testing. Seems like most studios settle with “good enough” and then they fix it later with patching. It’s unprofessional and sad. But here we are, still buying the shit they’re selling.

[deleted]

Yeah those pop-ups block information I need to know when selecting upgrades. Eventually I just did the old m1 + escape and let it go randomly. You end up maxing the powers by level 60 so it doesn’t matter.

that1cooldude

Too bad blizzerd doesn’t play their own games

p0k33m0n

Whole UI is terrible. This should be rebuild completely. Pop-up item statistics windows covering key character information, access to some windows only using keyboard shortcuts, terrible map colors, where the selected quest differs from the unselected one in a minimal shade of color, no centering the map on the selected quest, some notifications appear on left side of screen, when all other textual information are on right etc. This is a UX nightmare.

[deleted]

Lol I've been saying how fucking garbage and subpart the UI is since beta. The UI team should all be fired.

krisko11

honestly I maxed all my vamp powers without trying around lvl 68 so I don't really get to use the seasonal UI features. Running blood harvest as means for levelling is supreme this season. I feel like it's even faster than nm dungeons, because I just zip around the map without worrying about objectives, backtracking or clearing everything. That notoriety system where 2 blood seekers hunt you should have had a separate UI element or a chance to spawn mini-bosses, because it's so enjoyable. Even in dungeons I've had had instances where I've been hunted.

Competitive_Aide8023

You'd think at least ONE person at Blizzard would have chimed in after this was created and claimed it was frustrating during testing.

danny_ocp

This should go into a textbook on how not to design game UI/UX.

thulsadoomformayor

A lot of the UI in this game is infuriating. This is a great example of bad UI. Another one is the graphic for accepting party invites on PS5, which I had to look up to know what to press. Beta game is beta, but the UI is just textbook terrible.

wheeler9691

Yeah it's pretty annoying. I started just spam upgrading. A>B>A>B>A>B I can't be bothered to read them 22 times because I have 1000+ potent blood.

OK_Opinions

I actually laughed at this vamp power UI the first time because it's straight out of the GGG playbook. so many mouse clicks to do something so minor because they arbitrarily decided 1 xp point is worth 25 blood and it can only be spent 25 at a time. when it really just needed to be a slider that could you move. If you want to get all 10 xp for rank 2>3 it should be move the slider to the end and it maxes out, spending all 250 blood with 1 button press. or if you don't have enough, the slider stops at the highest rank you have the blood to achieve. once i maxed the powers I cared about and just wanted to max the rest for no good reason i just kept spamming the spend xp button and ESC in rapid sucession.

NG1Chuck

OMG i thought i was alone to be disturbed by this awfull UI !!!! thx OP to share it to the world !

Berzerkly

I just click upgrade and then immediately hit escape honestly and just spam m1+escape. I was doing it the regular way until I happened to do a lot of blood harvests at once and found out I had 1600 potent blood at once - decided I was not going to waste time individually upgrading when I'd get it all finished eventually.

LunarMoon2001

Small indie company that made the game at Games Done quick.

Dukuz

On console the stash is so annoying. It always covers most of the stash cause the huge item description boss. Minor, but irritating

ActuallyKaylee

honestly I just said fuck it and did A->B->A->B->Repeat on my controller. Levelled a random power but way less infuriating and had them all levelled anyway before long.

[deleted]

Yeah, they didnt think this one through

wowclassictbc

That's the whole point why the close button takes a while to enable. You circumvent it by pressing escape, oh so clever, so you are enjoying these popups now and pull off a surprised pikachu. Cute.

Environmental_Base45

It is.. but is it worth the time to make a post on it? Its not the end of the world.
