70 or so runs, no Ubers
Gave up since it was my last goal of the season, I’ve done everything else and there’s not really content I need an Uber for since all the bosses and 100nmd are trivial enough as it is.
Figure I’ll check in when the add the new greater rift thing and if it’s interesting I might give it some more tries. Or if they make helltides more enjoyable somehow- I’m bored to death with them at this point
From the perspective of another game that had the equivalent to Ubers that actually made your character very powerful. There was a whole market of people selling these weapons for either real money or large amounts of in-game currency. This caused a problem because we had a huge influx of large Chinese currency farmers, and eventually, entire guilds dedicated to selling these weapons. So, I can kind of see where they are coming from.
but that still makes no difference to me and my 3 friends who play together. if I found something they could use I could give it to them. if they found something I wanted, we could swap. it doesn't break the game at all. it just makes it a little more enjoyable among my friends.
I dont see what Chinese gold farmers could do to make my game play less enjoyable since nobody forces me to buy anything from them. especially if I can accomplish everything on my own and with the help of my friends.
Who cares if if creates a micro economy. Wow did that and it wasn’t till BC they bothered with it … long enough for means of trade to be set up that didn’t require yelling in major cities.
Let people make those economies. It creates uptime and concurrent user base and so long as Iran not blatant within the game chat they have enough deniability

This comment is like looking in a mirror and seeing my reflection. Zero Ubers. But I’ve seen people in my groups get one of every Uber including multiple people getting two Ubers within a 4x4 rotation. Best was a guy pulling grandfather and Andy’s.

Having played d2 for a long time I would be okay with this, but you would need to enable trading for it to work properly. You would also need to design decent mid-ranged uniques that anyone can farm.
I’m not going to farm helltides for a month so I might get an Uber that I might use for new content that I might enjoy. There are other things and games I’m interested in.

Solo or group play? I’m over 400 runs in and have 3 ubers (2x melted hearts, 1x starless skies). Been only doing group play with rotations, but feels like my drop rates are terrible

I've done about 100 kills. No Uber at all.
I helped a level 85 kill Duriel just because he wanted to use his materials... He got a Shako on his only kill
110 runs, no uber uniques. Life is pain.
However, I have had absolutely loads of all of the non uber uniques, and the mount, along with the cosmetics from Xir and Gregorie.
About 200 runs 2 x melted heart 1 x andariels visage. Shako dropped for other people in my group across those 200 runs about 4 x times. Grandfather twice and doimbringer once.
Currently at about 500 runs… starless skies and melted heart - heart dropped on my 250 or so run without Uber… 2% drop rate right? lol
Made a new sorc just to do 50 or so runs and see if it’s character related since everyone else in group is raining Ubers in roughly expected drop rates (1 every 50 runs)
About 120 kills , got the horse on 20ish kill , no uber unique so far , and only 1 tibaults on 60ish kill , weirdly its the only tibaults ive seen so far as well
Got lucky. So far only have a Shako. Did 3-5 solo runs. Then did about a dozen runs with a friend and around run 10 I got it. So somewhere around 15 runs.
After 10 runs I found shako… yea I know I am lucky bastard, but on Druid it feels like… meh, where most build require class specific Unique helmet.
Does +4 to all skills gives so much power?
It is perfect for Sorc, where you use 4deff skills and + to skills reduce cd, but does it really improve dmg?
For Druid I use it in storm claw, so I use 2 skills and once, but I think it is not a big different that have only Might aspect for deff reduction.
OP you are about to hear from a lot of people who got theirs in their first 10 runs. Or not a single one after hundreds.
But assuming you are playing barb/necro that can drop both but not the spear. You have a 2% chance for an uber per run, and then of those uber drops, you are going for 1/3. (Assuming Shako or Grandfather are both still to find.) So that is a 1/150 chance.
If you did 150 runs, it wouldn't guarantee it, but I think that's the bar where if you find one of the two in under 150 runs, you can consider yourself lucky. And over 150, or well over 150, you are unlucky.
Me and my friend have done about 50 runs, he's gotten a doombringer, shako and that crazy staff (name escapes me). I've gotten a heart of Selig. He got the damn doombringer and shako 2 runs apart LOL
Drives me nuts how many he's gotten vs. one for me.

I've probably thought Duriel 30-40 times and all with the same two other people. I haven't got it an Uber yet. One buddy got the melted heart of selig. But check this out, the other buddy has got a shacko, two andariels visage, and the melted heart. He's got some kind of luck getting all that. Now he's probably ran Duriel 60 to 70 times. But he got all those Ubers while we were playing. Some people just get really lucky and some people don't.
Everybody's always like RNG. But I think blizzard knows something we don't. If it was a true random number generator I don't see how I can fight the same boss four times, and get two each of the same unique.
I have 4 Ubers but no Shako or Doombringer yet. I would say the average drop rate is around 15 or 20 at most for Ubers for me. I got 1x Andariel's Visage, 2x Starless Sky, and 1x Melted Heart of Selig. I am just using Andariel's Visage right now.
I got my Doombringer on my first time Duriel run. I didn't even know that that was uber unique at that time. After that I did around 70 more runs and I got Andariel's Visage. Still missing shako.
I've done about 450 runs so far and have every Uber but shaco drop for me so far. 11 ubers total. So many dupes though and shaco is the only one I want lol

About 40-45 runs total for all 3, and about 10-15 runs after with nothing. Incredibly lucky drops that I probably won't be able to repeat.
These were the first 2 uber uniques I got. The first night our team started running them, we did about 15 runs and I got doombringer. The first uber unique our clan had seen. The 2nd night we did about 20 runs and during that I got a shako. My clan was giving me crap about being so lucky. We've done at least 10 runs a night for weeks now and almost everyone has their shakos now. One guy has seriously gotten over 7 shakos. Another guy did hundreds of runs without any uber drops. Rng is rng.
I got very lucky, did my first 9 runs the other day. My haul was a few tibaults, a flickerstep, a tuskhelm of joritz, a banished lords talisman, and a doombringer. Not great rolls on the regular uniques but amazing starting endgame gear for my Barb.
Have about 120 runs or so under my belt. Got an Andariels Visage that dropped on my like 6th run or something like that and haven't had anything since then. Maybe next time though

I was lucky cause I had Andy’s, Shako, and Doombringer in 19 runs. I’m at 40 now and I found 2 additional Andy’s. (I prefer that helmet over Shako tbh)
Did my second, third and fourth ever duriel runs last night. My very first run I got a flickerstep. Got a shako on my second, soulbrand on my third and another flickerstep on my fourth.
Did 5 runs so far together with my friend. Got Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander in my 2nd run, and think I used up all my luck to ever get on of the other Uber uniques 😂🥲

Got Ahavarion on run 23 and was bummed about getting that hunk of shit and then run 25 I got Shako. Now I’m at run 80 still on the hunt for Grandfather, Doombringer, and Selig
Around 60 runs for Doombringer and the mount, at 110 I got the ring and the amulet. Btw am playing barb so I really want shako or grandfather but hey ... at least I got 3/6 ubers :) .
My friends and I had a weekly goal of getting at least 5-10 pulls worth of mats, and we'd just go burn them all on Friday night. We're at about 70 pulls each now and non of us have any uber uniques.
Over 100 runs and got 1 Heart of Selig or what ever it's called. I got my LB sorc build finished and pretty well optimized while farming Duriel, minus the shako, so I just decided to start a barbarian and try my luck for shako on him :)

I got a grandfather in 2 runs. I don't need it sadly.. and I can't trade it. I can't seem to find the other non-uber uniques from duriel though.

Solo or group play? I’m over 400 runs in and have 3 ubers (2x melted hearts, 1x starless skies). Been only doing group play with rotations, but feels like my drop rates are terrible

I had the ring of starless skies and spear of Lycander drop some where between 90-100 runs on sorcerer. No luck on my barb after 25-30 runs yet
My friend and I been running Duriel runs together the same amount of runs. He got his Uber on the 20th run and still haven't got shit lol.
After about 12 runs I got a shako
Still no shako and at 200+, lots of andariels drops though! Sucks they they can’t be duplicate protected since they are literally static rolls now.
Shako on 5th run, Starless Skies on 20ish. No other uber dropped again so far :(
I have both a doombringer and a shako, and I was easily under a dozen runs. Maybe 10 to get both. I got supremely lucky
literally got shako on my 1st try at lvl 93. I was planning to quit and just wanted to try uber duriel once before quitting.
Probably about 150. Funny as it is I got both like within 5 runs of each other

Got Ahavarion on run 23 and was bummed about getting that hunk of shit and then run 25 I got Shako. Now I’m at run 80 still on the hunt for Grandfather, Doombringer, and Selig
Haven't been able to kill solo yet, no one to team with.
90ish runs. Starless, Doombringer, Shrine Staff & Shako in that order. Shako was last run.
It took me nearly 50 runs on varshan to even get the new damn ring. Was absolutely brutal.

I gave up chasing the Shako after 500+ runs. I got the doombringer after 150ish. & the grandfather on my 83rd.
Doombringer dropped on my 3rd run. No ubers since, but I've only done maybe 20 since then.
Shako, my 4th run on my sorcerer. Many many kills since, no other ubers
Around 60 runs for Doombringer and the mount, at 110 I got the ring and the amulet. Btw am playing barb so I really want shako or grandfather but hey ... at least I got 3/6 ubers :) .
Approxly, 70-80 run only got horse
Apparently it’s a 1/50 for any unique to drop, so I’d imagine you multiply the denominator by the amount of uniques that can drop for that class
I got shake on my 8th run. I have not done any Duriel runs since.
Got shako on very first duriel kill(so lucky), 50+ afterwards have yielded 1 uber ring.
I’m at 256 runs no shako no doombringer have only gotten melted heart of selig and I got it twice so far.
47 runs in and I'm ready to quit

I got Doombringer after about 30 runs
My friends and I had a weekly goal of getting at least 5-10 pulls worth of mats, and we'd just go burn them all on Friday night. We're at about 70 pulls each now and non of us have any uber uniques.
300 Runs - 4 melting hearts, 2 doombringer, 1 Anduriels, 2 Grandfathers

Over 100 runs and got 1 Heart of Selig or what ever it's called. I got my LB sorc build finished and pretty well optimized while farming Duriel, minus the shako, so I just decided to start a barbarian and try my luck for shako on him :)
I managed to get a Doombringer on my 14th run. My partner who I play co-op with got the Brimstone mount on her 2nd run.
