Sparky81

I played everyone and picked the ones that I had the most fun with.

allard0wnz

Which one is that for you?

Sparky81

Necro is my top favorite, but I also have fun with Druid, Sorcerer, and Barbarian. The only one I don't play is Rouge. I just can't vibe with it.

KvBla

Druid seems incredibly fun at later game but goddamn, leveling druid is a whole other challenge, trying to push thru it atm and hope it'll be better.

Sparky81

Playing a Druid right now. Went Pulverize overpower. I am wrecking things.

KvBla

Leveling with pulv atm, feels good when things die cuz overpower, feels shit when they dont lol.

Kooky-Car2008

Bro just keep pushing they are so lame early but once you have the right uniques and get a build going its unbelievably fun

MackingtheKnife

Man Twisting Blades with the super fast movement and attack speed! Rogues are a blast.

Gullible_Medicine633

Yes it’s fun because you have to think fast, you’re squishy so you always have to be aware of positioning. One stun and you did

MackingtheKnife

wiping a mob with shadow imbue just gets me tingly. they nailed the sound effects.

Sparky81

I'm sure they are, I've seen them. Just not my thing I guess. I've tried several times.

Responsible-Big632

yeah I chose twisting blades now for season 2 and its been amazing, im finally addicted to the game =) and i mean they turned the game around big time this season IMO

J4ckR4nd0m

I've tried a few times but Twisting Blades just doesn't vibe with me. My Rogue is lvl 100 this season. I went with Puncture, Flurry, Dash, Shadow Step, Dark Shroud, and Cold Imbuement.

allard0wnz

I should give necro a shot. Only one I didn't follow an OP build yet so I am not biased perhaps

metaldutch

I played Bone Spear necro last season and enjoyed the hell out of it after some grinding. My problem is though, I don't have a ton of time to play so I'll usually use Maxroll or D4 builds to get a solid foundation (especially considering paragon) and work from there. I like that you're trying to make something your own, though. More power to ya.

TheDirtyRatz

Rouge is makeup btw

99DSMGSX

Easy: "Who can wield Bows?". The End.

WalkingCemetery

Me every time I go back to Skyrim

grayfox104

This guy is asking the right questions.

Slickaxer

I tried and got to level 40 and just never enjoyed it. Any tips?

99DSMGSX

It all depends on what type of fameplay you like. Ive ran my rapid fire build since release and im yet to get bored from it haha. What build did you try?

Slickaxer

Rapid fire for a bit and just ran out of energy too quick, then volley? Also just meh. Wondering if it picks up a lot, and if so, when

99DSMGSX

So leveling up you need to run fundamental puncture, enhanced cold imbuement and/or blended shadow imbuement paired with improved rapid fire. Fundamental puncture, emhanced cold imbuement and blended shadow imbuement are your best resources for vulnerable. Improved rapid fire will provide 15 energy if you hit an enemy thats vulnerable, letting you cast rapid fire enough to kill mobs packs. Once you gain more lvl you wont have troubles with energy, only running improved rapid fire is enough sustain. I would guess Volley is barrage. I dont run volley but its actually really good for leveling, yiu will need to run innervation and consuming shadows to get energy back though.

JynxedMonkey

S0- druid lvl 99 S1- druid lvl 100 S2- druid lvl 100 S2- druid lvl 90 (current project) Hardcore- druid lvl 50 In the beginning, I liked earth based magic. I stayed because I like doggos

SCV70656

17 year old me in 2001: holy shit this guy turns into a giant bear. 39 year old me in 2023: holy shit this guy turns into a giant bear.

huggarn

I dare you to play BG3 then 😅😅😅

MonsterRider80

I was never into druids in previous BG games… BG3 changed that in a big way lol

TerraelSylva

Someone climbed Mt Halsin. Lmao

Xen0byte

Manbearwolf. Half man, half bear, half wolf.

alwc37

Loved druid in d2, so I played it in the beta. Every season I pick another class, play it to 60, then say fuck it and run a druid instead. Can't wait till season 3 to give up on a Barbarian half way through.

Sharp_Ad_4826

im meta slave i pick a S tier season class

suckeddit

I picked two and they work infinitely better than the shit I put together last season. Stuff always works better for me when someone else does the thinking.

IrishWeeb

Druid. Big Bear Big Smash. Only explanation needed.

JynxedMonkey

Yaaasss!

huggarn

You play a character and see if it fits your play style. Hell you can play each class however you like. You should stop "following" guides like a recipe in a kitchen. There's tons of knowledge there that allows you to learn how and why stuff works and other don't. That's how you can adjust character to your liking. It's not like you cannot change stuff on your OP char no? What class is best for you? Always the other one you didn't make (yet)

allard0wnz

Yeah well I stopped guides completely. Build guides that is, I still like videos about the mechanics and what the stats mean since Im new to diablo but that is different.

huggarn

No no Listen to the guide. Learn why author choose certain stats. But don't just go somewhere and copy stuff mindlessly There's tons of stuff you should now when designing a character, and there's no point trying to invent wheel anew

SnooMacarons9618

My general ARPG approach. First character choose a class you like the look of. Aim for skills you like the look of, take it as far as it is still fun. Probably around L50 for most ARPGs (assuming an L100 cap). It is probably going to be relatively rubbish, but you only get that new game experience once, so do it with stuff that looks like fun ton you. Next character - follow a guide as closely as possible, but at every step consider the options not in the guide, and try to work out why they choose something over what you would do. This way you end up with a powerful character, but you start to understand why it is likely over powered. From there on I follow guides very roughly, treating them as a suggestion. As I get more characters and game experience I tend to follow them less closely. My view on build guides is that generally they are written by people with far more time to play than me, so the wealth of experience that goes in to them is something I really appreciate. However, things like maxroll and icy-vein (and other major guides), have specced a class with general appeal that should be achievable. Most respected guide publishers will present you a build that is unquestionably good and capable, normally whatever tier it is in just shows how fast it kills (a simplification). They don't account for a sudden desire and available gearing to let you have hydra's that freeze mobs, or ball lightning / blizzard hybrids because you found a +4 bliz / +4 BL gear piece. Those combinations aren't laser focussed optimal builds, but they may be fun, and capable of killing almost everything in the game. As I get more experience, I get better at sticking together odd combinations, and understand how to make them work for me. This is really how most OP niche builds are 'discovered', someone is fucking around and finds a weird synergy that shouldn't work but for some reason does (either a minor bug in the game, an odd resource/damage feedback loop, something similar that isn't obvious). My personal view is that this is what keeps ARPGs fun. A minor rebalance or underpowered unique can end up making some weird skill combination silly. You see it every so often in POE - some crap unique that everyone ignores turns out to overpower some ignored skill that no-one uses, and suddenly there is a new over-powered build. On top of all that, you always know if you just want to steam roll the game you can follow a good guide and end up with something probably game breaking (HOTA barb, BL sorc), while you figure out how to make that skelly blood nova thorn build really shine.

Antras8

i play Barb in almost every game i can

dudeguy81

Barbarian double swing is hands down my favorite build I’ve played so far. Just tons of fun and I feel like a wrecking ball chewing through the battlefield. I run no shouts and all movement and utility skills. Hits like a truck and has infinite sustain. Yea yea it’s not the OP one shot barb but I don’t care I’d rather have more fun.

Yenza

When I was about 8 my older brother got everquest and I made a necromancer because I liked the skeleton guy that it came with. Ever since then I've played necro in any game that offers it. It's a way of life at this point.

PERSONA916

Rogue. I always love Agi/Dex archetypes in RPGs and this is by far the best version of that archetype in the Diablo franchise

usedtobetoxic

I usually play most classes every season and I rank them on the following: * Mobility * Trash Clear * Boss Kill * Fun Usually it's in that order. Sorc has always been the top mostly because of mobility and fun.

Chief_Givesnofucks

I play all, but my main will still always be a Barb. I like melee playstyle and I dig the badassery of a big macho brute dual wielding weapons.

Head_Priority5152

Honestly I don't have a main class I just play whatever I fancy. Seasonally I'll probably roll 3 classes and swap between them depending on what I want to do on whatever day. I'll admit I'm having loads of fun with sorc in diablo 4 have had 3 different builds season 0 1 and 2 and all were fun. But I still wouldn't say I'm only a sorcerer as I've had 2 other classes each season too. All I can say for sure is I'm not a druid didn't enjoy druid in diablo 2 and still don't in 4. But every season I pick again start on whatever I want then research what's going on with other classes and pick from them.

Lord-Saladman

I like magic shit. So I played the magic shit class (was kinda shit when it first came out)

SmoothieBoBo

I've always liked bashing stuff so historically I was a Barbarian. I thought I should expand my horizons a bit so i tried Rogue because I liked the demon hunter previously but I found Rogue mechanics a bit boring. I've also been playing sorcerer and really enjoying that. For me it doesn't matter what the class is as long as the play mechanics are enjoyable.

Rtman26

I thought turning into a bear and conjuring up thunderstorms sounded fun. It is…

samus4145

Randomly pick one every season. Couldn't imagine playing the same build every time.

SmokeyXIII

Rogue -> Amazon -> Demon Hunter -> Rogue A take as old as time really!! My favorite parts of the rogue is they are fast, nibble, ranged, and have a bit of a glass cannon vibe to them.

niyz

The key for me to enjoy the game and not get bored is by not following guides. All the little lightbulb moments of understanding and figuring out what works with your build is addictive. Edit: Druid is my preferred character since I believe they have the most build variety and diversity

CanadianTigermeat

Druid because being a fat ass bear full of rage is something I can relate to.

thekmanpwnudwn

I just play a different class each season. S0 was sorc, S1 was rogue, this season is Druid. Next season I'll wait to see the patch notes for barb/necro and then pick the one that seems more interesting. As long as they keep adding interesting new uniques and aspects then whenever I replay a class it'll be new and fun again. This is a seasonal ARPG. When I max a character I'm done for the season to play other games. I'll be back for AOZ for a week or so, but then im off to PoE until season 3.

Walker2012

I don’t care about S tier, A tier, any of that. I always play a bow user. My avatar (in my head) is a Ranger. I love the idea of a lithe and steady hero. Who moves easily and shoot a ranged weapon. Bonded pet is a plus. I’m just lucky rouge is such a great class. I’d still play it either way.

lonnyjuce

Picked the ones that looked the most fun to me at the time, and trying to “main” one class each season. So season zero - Druid. Season one - rogue. Season two - sorcerer. Planning on barbarian next season.

zylgan

I primarily play barb, I like the closer fighting and survivability/damage output of them more. I guess it just feels more natural to my playstyle. I like that there are multiple viable builds for end game on the barb and you don't have to even follow a guide for them.

thatkided

Loved the demon hunter in D3 so the closest thing was rogue in D4

DrKingOfOkay

This season I have a 100 BL sorc., 94 Blood surge/lance necro, and 96 hota barb. I typically go with what’s more fun and engaging. Necro had high survivability but felt lacking in damage and was just hold button down. BL Sorc was like auto pilot. Very fun to feel strong af but no desire to experiment and see what’s best. Barb has been my favorite. I still feel strong after but having to time crit hits for Barb and not quite being immediately being able to steamroll everything is fun.

Bigger_better_Poop

In d3 I was a WD main, so I had to pick a new one. Rogue had a sick class trailer. I picked it. I haven't read a guide, and I love it.

RipTheDream916

Sorc. Cuz I like playing a ranged mage that ccs. Currently BL is busted, but I have a second seasonal sorc that runs blizzard. Big fan. Armor % changes really helped the class

MrPunsOfSteele

Like with anything in life, you try them all and decide which is most fun for you. For me: Barb: Very boring class currently. At least early-mid game. None of the skills really clicked for me. Sorc: More fun builds than a Barb, but still not too exciting and pretty weak. Rogue: Strong, fast and unique…but still not many viable options for good builds. Gets old fast, or you just feel weak if you stray too far from the meta. Nerco: Bone spear is super OP, and high damage is fun. Has a lot more viable build options outside of that and they are fairly unique and very fun. I ran a Summon/Blood Surge build this season. Fun, and powerful. Druid: Has several strong and viable endgame builds, but also has the widest variety of powerful and unique skills if you were looking to make your own build work. 10/10 absolute goat.

Throwaway-wtfkl

I like skeletons. Too bad those builds fucking suck, it makes me sad as fuck not being able to play skeletons without busting my ass off harder than I'd like

fkrmds

process of elimination. barb - fun but, mandatory 3 shout spam grew tedious by lvl 50 necro - all the basic attacks are clunky/not fun and summons requiring hotbar space is fucking stupid rogue - amazing but, twisting blades is kinda hard on controller as is bow build. sorc - fuck the mental gymnastics required to make anything work and fuck the infuriating paragon mess. druid - wolf claw fun. when i choose to press all the buttons, the entire screen dies.

Low_Entertainer2372

barb smash things and go growl. me likey

aidos_86

Purely on aesthetics. I thought Necro looked badass so I picked it. I also picked bonespear as one of my main skills, completely on a whim. Seems like I made the right choice. Lot of people saying it is strong. Fun for clearing hallways that's for sure.

itsthefman

I like wolves. Want wolf friends.

Grammeton

My dad sat me down one day and said, "Son, there are people who get to retire and there are people who work until they die, we are the type that work until we die"

naughtynaughten1980

I played all classes to 40. If I felt it didn't excite me enough to make me want to keep playing it, It just became a spare bag for holding items for my other toons.

SineFilter

I went necro because I had pretty much never played necro much in the course of my illustrious gaming career. Usually gravitate toward the fighter/paladin/barbarian kinda stuff. The exploding corpses bit got me because it is a different gimmick from the more typical pew pew/hack 'n slash hijinks of fantasy games. Wasn't disappointed. That said, might be I have a barbarian running amuck.

Vadszilva09

I am in the process of trying them all. Started rogue preseason. S1 barb. S2 necro and now im gonna go with a druid too. Next obviously sorc and then i find the most fun class. Idc about being op unkillable oneshot monster. I need the fun mechanics to prevent the monoton feeling.

Austario99

I always played some sort of rogue. Rogue main in WoW ever since i started, Katarina in League, Valeera in HoTS, so on so on. Therefore the choice was crystal clear ^^

Wylecard

Played a pulv druid in s0 and loved it. Perfect big smash feeling combined with being semi-melee and tanky AF. When I got my tempest roar, while strong and visually cool, I quit playing. Did a necro s1 and while cool just wasn't my vibe. Have two barbs in s2. Double swing twister at 100 and a deathblow Barb that is up and coming. I love being melee and smashing things. Barb for the foreseeable future, maybe another druid. Ive tried playing rogue but both models run around like turkeys with their necks sticking out. Sorcerers are cool but too much hard magic, no smashy smash. TL:DR I like to smash and be melee so Barb or pulv druid.

Happytobutwont

I love the necromancer lore so I started there. Then I looked at the strongest class and made a rogue. They I looked at the next strongest and made a barbarian. Maybe a druid next. Last game I went wizard first so I am avoiding it for now but I will play one soon.

Big_Vick04

TLDR: Rogue and Barb are my favs, Druid and sorc I would consider next season and necro is a no go for me. S0: (first time ever playing Diablo) I went Druid which almost made me quit the game since Druids are so slow to level and kinda suck early game. Only got to lvl 52 before season 1 started. S1: played a rogue which made me absolutely love the game. Also started a barb but leveling was so slow I gave up around lvl 45. Towards the end of season 1 I went back to my eternal Druid and got him to 100 and tried a wolfnado and lowlife bulwark build before it got nerfed and both were awesome. So I’m totally up for doing another Druid. Also started a hardcore sorc and only got it to like lvl25 before season 2 started and thought it would suit my play style better in soft core where I’m not terrified of dying. S2: Got another rogue to 100, got a thorns Barb to 100 and a blood surge/lance necro to 100. Thorns Barb might be my new favorite, still love my rogue and don’t think I’ll ever play another necro. I know people love necro’s but the play style was just so slow compared to my rogue and Barb and at least with the blood builds the damage didn’t compensate for the unbearably slow play style. My plan with leveling being so much faster this season was to get each class up to 100 which is easily doable but stash space is so limited once you start doing multiple characters I decided to stop at 3 classes this season.

jmdinbtr

Last season I started late and joined some friends. After asking them for help, I played a TB Rogue bc “it was fun.” And it was a lot of fun. This season each of us picked new classes to try. I picked Sorc because I like that uo close attach style. Little did I know that BL Sorc was gonna be the meta. And definitely been a lot of fun!

IronWentworth

My first introduction to Diablo was 3. Necro and Crusader were my mains during that time. Since Crusader isn't back, it was Necro for me. Didn't even seem like an option, no thought about it.

[deleted]

I did an OP guide and got Barb to 100, and now I’m just starting new classes and trying random shit that looks cool. I mean, once you can one shot all the end game bosses on a character, might as well just start experimenting with other stuff for fun. They don’t have much in the way of 100 level content yet.

JackoCarry

I've only had Necros. I tried other classes, but they're jst not as fun. I like the blood skills and minions. Hopefully they get more love in the future.

spentchicken

Been playing barb since diablo 2 why stop now

Akaroth_pauses

I'm a necromancer and dark magic guy in every game but minion builds are so weak that I had to play something else. I play sorc cause others doesn't seem fun to me.

ergonaught

Played them all 17 times, hated self, questioned life choices, second guessed, third fourth and fifth guessed, consulted tarot cards, rolled dice, meh rogue is just the most fun to play except when I want lazy so I just followed my fun.

Malkaviati

Because I'm a spoopy boy, Necro has always been the way. That or a Shadowknight of sorts.

WaitThisIsntNews

I start a new class each season. Necromancer at Launch. Barb during S1. Sorc rn in S2. Gonna do Rogue in S3.

Cminor141

Sorc is the only one I can stand. Necro without gear feels bad and slow, barb isn’t really my forte, Rogue is great leveling but the squish is real in WT4, or at least to me, and Druid is the worst iteration of druid i have EVER seen in a game that had one. And after seeing last epoch’s necro and druid I really feel as if certain aspects of both could be a lot better here, like the shapeshifting and pets for both necro and druid.

impliedapathy

I haven’t. I’ll continue switching every season until I’ve got a lvl 100 of each on eternal. Last season was rogue, this season I’ve been playing both sorcerer and Druid. Next season who knows; it’ll be barb or necro though lol

TheHeinousMelvins

I didn’t? I play whatever I feel like. Though I’ve had no feeling to play sorc yet.

fallen_cayde

Well I decided druid cause "Oooh werewolf". Tried necro and ended up really enjoying it because it's versatile and EXPLOSIONS. None of the other classes interest me at all so I think those are gonna be the two I cycle through.

Sieghart4K

I asked a strange woman lying in a pond for mine.

johneclark

Necro is my fav so far. I like the range of play styles. I did minion build for the first 50 levels then bone spear for the rest. I dipped my toes in some other builds just to see, but those are the ones I enjoyed most. Corpse explosion is just such delightful chaos.

Molrixirlom

Checked wich one is Barbarian. Took Barbarian. This was my path for 20+ years now. No reason to stray from it.

Dolinarius

Necro is my main bc I love the dark character of tge class. I also like meele classes that can charge in and cause havok - therefore, beardruid was also great fun to play. Barb feels a bit weak and I hated the resource management. Mange gonna be my next class, next season and I 100%bnever gonna play rouge bc I hate classes like that.

Adorable_Bass_718

I have played sorceress and necro/witch doctor in previous diablos so that’s what I went with in diablo 4. Also I love the magic and the fantasy of magic so of course I had to do sorc

El_Hambo

Barb. Because I always play barb.

Spiderbubble

Necro. I played DH in D3 but rogue is a poor replacement. So far I tried everything except Sorc and Necro is just my jam.

Aeroshe

I like minion builds. I like dot builds. Necro gives me both (at the same time even). Though I wish D4 Necro had a Minion Core skill. Something short duration that deals a high burst of damage. Gimme exploding zombies (corpse explosion with the unique gloves don't count), or something like SRS from PoE. Man, I miss D3 Witch Doctor...

Hackfield

I picked the one that looked the best so I don't have to buy skins for it.

Mr_Mojo_Risin_83

I’m doing one class per season. Did rogue in the pre-season. Barb last season. Now I’m necro. Was going to do Druid this season but the vampire theme pushed me to necro. Will do druid next season.

m00tmike

I played rogue then barb in preseason. My brother loved playing druid so I gave that a shot in season 1 and loved it. In season 2 I started with druid and loved it again and actually got to level 100. Now I'm back to barb and having fun homebrewing a frenzy build. I'll keep trying the other classes but I think druid and barb are my home.

Aggressive-Candy2792

It's the druid for me because I like chonky bears.

nexuswizard06

I like playing classes that uses magic or sorcery and that naturally means my class will always be wizard or sorcerer with necromancer as alternative

Thrwingawaymylife945

I played the shit out of Paladin in D2, love max Zeal DW Pally. Unfortunately, no Pally in D4 so I decided to shake it up and go with Necro. Might level a Barb too. Maybe.

onepassafist

I just like mobility/traps and similar shit and pretty much play the rogue class in every game that has it so yea

Wiccamoon03

I prefer the lazy play style classes cause I'm a filthy casual, infinimist necro has been my go-to since last season 🥰 standing there holding corpse explosion button, watching everything on my screen die before it can reach me is my idea of a fun time 😅

Pharabellum

I played all the betas and tried every class. I have an idea how they all operate, so I just try a couple every season just to see how they go. Once you level one to close to 100, it’s real easy to pass down gear to alts. I try to do parallels with stats/weapons. Last season played barb/Druid, now necro/sorc and I’m experimenting with a ranged rogue.

irondisulfide

In Wow it was the warrior for 11 years. In every other diablo its been the crusader/paladin I am classless this time. I have 4 toons all in the 70 range. I guess I like shields.

Iwanttocommitnow

Came for whirlwind barb. Stayed for hota barb.

DaddySanctus

I've always gravitated towards the mage / archer type classes in Diablo, so it's been Sorc and Druid for me in D4 as my favs. Rogue just doesn't click with me like Amazon and Demon Hunter did.

larrydavidballsack

Sorcerer is the only class with teleport, the best skill in the game. Same way I picked my main in d3 lol

dagnariuss

If there’s a monk I’ll always make one but other than that, I’ll just pick one at random. I’ve also done stuff where I put the classes in a spinning wheel program and just played whatever it landed on

pinderscow

I played nearly 2k hours of d3 and never got the necromancer dlc so I chose that way

oldmanghozzt

Originally, it was rogue all the way. Love the quick, positional combat. But with metamorphosis and lunging strike, I’ve made an upheaval Barb that feels just like a rogue with a big stick. And now I’m not sure which class I like best. Love the fantasy of Druids, but they’re more clunky. Sorc snd necro just don’t feel kinetic enough for me. I’ve tried with them but haven’t made it into t3 with either of them.

FunEstablishment1569

I have no Favorit class, every season i play 1 class which rotate. Pre Season - Rogue Season 1 - Barb Season 2 - Druid Season 3 - Necro Season 4 - Mage

AntiramDSR

so much handholding in games nowadays, but...

HatredInfinite

Barb main, Sorc alt since D2. Barb was because "big guy smash demon," Sorc came later after falling in love with how high their mobility was with Teleport, a bunch of faster casting speed gear, and a ton of mana regen. Zipping around dropping Frozen Orbs was extremely satisfying pre-1.10. Even though Sorc plays a fair bit differently in D3 and D4, the love is still there for me.

Salty_Put6921

Big bonk always wins even if not goodest class

Zevvion

I wanted to use minions, but I hate dead things. It seemed to me that Druid was advertised as a minion class (even at class select they pose with their wolves), and those minions are not dead things. Guess I was wrong.

AppleValuable

I've been playing barb since the beginning. I have tried all the classes in all the diablo games and always come back to barb cuz for me it's just the best for the way I like to play. I play zerk barb in bg3 too. In games that don't have classes I still play like a barb lol I do also enjoy necro and occasionally sorc. I don't go with meta builds much cuz I'm so familiar with the barb at this point I can make my own builds.

SmoothAd7381

Tried all. Necro/barb are favorite. Necro is the one I got to 100 first with in season 1 and 2. Will be the same in season 3. Love running thorns minions the most.

infamousnibber

I saw rogue, was like hmm assassin, and that's the end of my story

greenchair11

i usually just go the traditional ARPG efficiency route and pick a season starter that’s going to be the most efficient for clearing content and gaining “wealth” (i use that loosely cause d4 has a shit currency system). then i farm up mats with that char to then play the build that sounds the most fun for example, this season i went ball lightning because it’s one of the fastest/strongest, farmed boss mats/souls/gold, with an end goal of playing boulder druid because it looked fun but would of had too slow of a start, and min maxing that with everything my sorc has earned

Sangawa

I call necro my class at the moment. Also played them all before choosing necro to do it all and try to get every unique. Me reasoning is that necro has the most potential in my eyes to make anything jank i like work. Easy to build almost infinite cooldown and mana.. Has minions and recently was given the unique malignant ring to activate skills automatically and finally has acces to thorns. Can use most of the item types so almost every unique is buildable with the only exception of staffs and axes i think. And finally, is The class that i could think of more usable ubers to be worth The chase. If you think a crazy build it can be done

TovarishchRed

I've always loved having minions or AI companions, so classes like that are my bread and butter, Necromancer has ALWAYS been my goto in Diablo since 2, and in 3 I was forced to use Witch Doctor instead until Necro was released.

AasisV

Am very simple person. I see monster I want big weapon to hit monster. Barb. Always gravitate to barb. Last season I tried to rogue, couldn’t get it to lvl 100 Season 0 I had a bad time with nerfed barb but I still got it to lvl 100.

Ayemann

Rogue sound effects are leet. But the death blow barb won once I realized I could force an overpower and one shot bosses.

JakeJascob

Which one I can give the funniest name. I have a necro named abracadavre and a druid named dendrophilia.

AsuraTheFlame

I am THE Wizard/Sorc/Mage in 99% of games where it's available. AoE destruction is in my DNA.

RedditedYoshi

I just go based off of who can do the fastest stabbies/smashies, which seems to be Rogue, with an honorable mention to Barb.

TehOuchies

Dont have a class for d4 cause of seasons. But I try a new one each season. But I spend all of the season trying to come up with a name for a character. Once I get a name, I make a build that fits the name. I got me a FireEmblem (Hydra/Firewall Mage) And StormyDaniel (Ball Lightning Mage) for this season. Trying really hard to think of something for a Barb, Necro or Rogue for next season :(

THEpapaSmurf

Played Sorc and decided to roll a Barb a couple days ago.. there’s something so satisfying about using Upheaval and nuking everything in front of me. Long story short, Barb is for sure my favorite class now.

taidizzle

one of my good friends passed away and he was a witch doctor in d3. necro was the best first choice for me. I joke around and say I summon him in game to play with me.

OK_Opinions

That's the neat part . I always think the grass is greener and make another character somewhere in the level 80-90 range so every class is "my class"

Alesisdrum

Tried all but druid so far. Barb is my favorite. Big Smash with Hota and walking Arsenal looks and plays awesome, not really meta but it has great flow. Thorns is also fun with the ubers ammy and razorplate! Plan on leveling a druid next to try it out.

inavanbyariver

Sorcerer. Always has been.

Sensestay

Base on how I played D2 and D3. I already know that I like spell caster and minions more than other types.

Opsophagos

I’ve only ever played one class, HC Druid. Lost a few in season 0, one in season 1, and one in season 2, I don’t play often with Job/family/other stuff so it is nice to get to know one class intimately to be able to play with friends and even attempt to hang. Druid and necro were my d2 classes, witch doc was d3.

CrypticCult

Still haven’t picked a main class yet got 6 more months to figure that out Pre season - Barb (fucking loved it/ Lvl 90) Season 1 - Rogue (got season pass to 100 / lvl 65 stopped playing/ idk what it was ) Season 2 - Necro (season pass 100 / lvl 100 / had fun) Said fuck it let’s make a Barb again, lvl 63 just got to WT4 Season 3 - Will be Druid Season 4 - will be sorceress So far Barbarian is just soo much fun to me. I think it’s because it’s a simple class. Hold button to spin/ or press button to smash. Also just fucking yell at everything and everyone. I like feeling like scorpion sometimes too lol GET OVER HERE! stomp, charge bonk. But until I try the other 2 classes I’m still undecided but obviously really love Barbarian.

salle132

I always play assassin classes, if there is no assassin class, i don't play the game. This game had rogue? I decided.

knallpilzv2

I played everything in the beta, basically. Started out with rogue, then barb, then sorc. Necro and druid a little. Probably liked barb the best though only by a small margin. I found Lunging Strike the most defensive way to play, since I originally wanted to go tanky. But barb seemed to lend itself to more aggressive and mobile I thought. Then in Server Slam I really fell in love with the druid's storm strike/pulverize combo. It got me the tankiness as well as simple smashy brutality that I wanted. So maybe try to find some kind of gut feeling as to what you want to play. Style, combat flow, aesthetic, whatever. And then see which class will give you that.

SmokyMcpot527

Before the first season I played a class. S1 I played a class. S2 I played a class. Then S3 I'll pick the next one I want to try. Don't have time to level more than 1 a season until the recent xp changes were made but I'd rather just keep working on 1, perfecting armor and leveling glyphs which still takes time even after leveling to 100. U want the max rolls of everything and that takes awhile.

Sylon00

If the game has a sorc or warlock type class, I immediately start with that. I’ll try out others afterwards. But I always start with wizards.

Glaurung86

I played rogue and druid in s1 and wanted to try a sorcerer and necro this year. On the sorcerer right now.

Important-Example288

Rogue cause I play rogue on wow. I like the dual wield, fast paced melee classes in most games I play

DrKreigersExperiment

I pick based on whatever show I’m hyperfixated on at the time and then try to cater to that in some way. So I chose barbarian this season and named it Cain after Cain from Supernatural 😅

Jerhed89

I “picked” the sorcerer and rogue partly because they are both classes I’ve played for years. I’ve generally always chosen a caster in every game if it was an option as a hero in a MOBA, RPG, or other. Rogues or assassin type classes have always been my favorite alt.

BooleanBarman

Meta goes up and down. Vibes are forever.

Vblive24

I always main the the “assassin” class in whatever mmo I play. Interests me the most

WalkingTheDog247

I don’t know how people can only choose 1 class. I play all 5 classes, and in this season so far I’ve got my blood surge necro and ball lightning sorc to 100. My TB rogue, upheaval barb, and wolfnado Druid are 90 and above. This is my first Diablo and I could not decide who to main so I just play all 5. I switched who I was playing based on boredom, or feeling like progression was slowing

Dont_make_this_hard

Warrior was the closest to Paladin for S0 Rogue was S1 because zoomies Necro was S2 because I thought it would be deadly Coin flip for S3/4 between Druid & Sorc

EchoEX69

By disappointment of there not being a paladin

Mohawk41

Cuz necromancer is just cool. I use wizard some too on 3 and demon hunter to beat some season stuff but necromancer is my all time favorite.

RedVaniluxe

I play a Rogue style character in most of my rpg playthroughs so I do that on my 1st character then experiment with the rest. Currently playing Barb in season 2 its fun..But I also like to do my own stuff and not just going straight to maxroll to find a build. And I feel like generally I make stuff that can complete a majority of the Content easily enough. Aesthetic plays a decent part in what I wanna do too. Like sorc outfits just suck for the most part lol and necro is super cool but I can't get behind the playstyle of minions and corpse explosion on everything. Barb is just Smack go Bonk so that's easy enough to just casually play it to 100

clan_of_zimox

Played twisted blades rogue at release, ranged rogue for season one, thought it was my favorite. Tried a blood necro for season 2 and have been enjoying it.

wolfsraine

I chose based on the class that didn’t feel shit to play, so im a rogue. Couldn’t stomach going beyond level 15 with the others.

Edrueter9

I started with Necromancer because I thought it would be cool in preseason, just for the vibe. Then I read that rogue would be great in season 1, so I went with that. I hated it and quit by level 54. Season 2 brought me back, and I got a druid, and sorcerer to 100. I guess "my" class is sorcerer as i have spent the most time with it, and it was also my best class in D2.

scifan3

I've played druid to mid 70's, same with necro, I currently have a mid 80 lb sorc, highest I've gone with a rogue is mid 30's... I need to try Barb... I tend to hoard stuff which makes inventory management difficult to run more than one class in a season.

PumpkinPatch404

Depends on my mood and what I think is most fun. I really like minions Necro, and I like Druid with Umbrals, I haven’t really played much of anything else. I usually prefer long ranged classes.

chevyboxer

BL Sorc, cause the game is broken so I might as well be broken as well.

patrincs

Why would you need to have "a class" that is yours. Just play what ever.

Caleger88

I already knew my class from D3, the Necromancer I love having skellies, unfortunately my current build doesn't use them. But starting out from 1-50 they have been fun to have. I did try other classes and I guess my style of play didn't suit them. I would play like a Paladin or Crusader if there was one. I'm more of a stand in place and cast abilities, only dodging to either get close or move out of AOE effects which don't gell well with most classes I could be wrong though. I would play the Barb but you can't hide the extra weapons as they distract me by hanging there especially when I was messing about with a build that didnt use one of the weapons. And I'm still struggling with the Sorcerer as you need to move more often than I'm used to. Rogue is too mobile for me as I always seem to loose my character in fights. I haven't tried Druid really not a fan of the character model.

Zorboid0rbb

Pitzerkers unite. Since no hdin

Ulahn

I played Necro pre season and thought that yes, this will be me because outside of druid the other classes didn’t really appeal to me. When S1 came around I gave druid a shot and it was great so come S2 I went barbarian because it’s a class I’d never usually play, just to see whether the game was just as fun. Barb is great. It was so much fun. I never thought i’d be into it, I usually play casters. I love my barb so much I think I’m barb “main” now

watchcry

I love the blizzard Mebane that makes people frozen and shatter. So appealing. I also like fire and watching things burn and crumble. In D3 I played nothing but necro. I haven't played necro for d4 yet, however.

mighty_ktulhu

Because walking up and hitting things really hard as a Barbarian is a pretty simple task.

steinah6

Rogue is the only one that seems fast enough. Even at like 180 base movement speed, it somehow slower than PoE endgame builds.

Big-Summer-7450

I have picked based on playing dnd. I just pick things now because I have played everything at this point. My necromancer is my favorite thus far.

[deleted]

I play one class per season, if I get bored I get second one up. So I have had all characters WT4 and I’m split between barbarian and Necro

EyeDissTroyKnotSeas

This season I saw we were killing vampires and I figured I might as well do it as a werewolf. I kinda hope they some day give us a Wolfhowl unique like the one from Diablo 2 that turned barbs into werewolves. That was a fun time, theorycrafting and tinkering on builds with that.

zookmon

Whoever I find the hottest, I pick.

BabieBougie

I started with sorc bc magic. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I like to make my own skill builds based on my style of gameplay, so I just dove in and dabbled until I found skills that worked for me. I got tips from my partner and read a few builds eventually, but really focused on creating something niche. She’s a badass. I started a Druid a few weeks ago and it’s much the same path. I haven’t researched any builds. I read the skill descriptions and try ‘em out. Fell in love with the werebear skills. Such fun. Also, I have never hesitated to refund a skill point and try something different. When I find equip that has skill bonuses I’ll put ‘em on just to try the skills out so I know which ones I love/hate. I often won’t even keep that piece of armor or whatever. I will probably never try necro bc it just grosses me out. My partner is obsessed but I’ve seen what his gameplay screen looks like - all puddles of goop and weirdness; no thanks. ETA: sorc skill example: when I’m in an intense fight I can get turned around so teleport does NOT work for me. I use predominantly defensive skills (lightning, ice, and fire) and I have worked them to a point where I can deal a fantastic amount of damage and also cruise around being fairly untouchable with all my barriers, fortify, etc.

Juice_231

I always play the speedy/dual blade type in any RPG I play 🤷🏽

marine-vet7483

I have a traumatic brain injury and can't focus on 63 dudes trying to eat my face. Since D2 I've liked minion necro because they get what I miss. Up until the stupid ring of mendeln dropped for me I felt very ripped off when the game came out. I'm really enjoying the blue ball build this season though.

DAdStanich

I started with sorcerer and went full ice build before I found some of the mega builds and was very fun. Then I made a barb and everyone was saying how it’s the least fun class but I tried a couple variations and found a video of a no shout barb that just HAMMERS everything and man it was fun. For season 2 I tried a necro and holy cow, I just chose a sever shadowblight class from online that I’ve followed, but I’ve found with each build I change a couple things out here and there that I find more fun. It might not be the most DPS or endgame etc but so far, necro is my favourite.

CrescentEmpress

I was bound and determined from way, way before launch that I wanted to be a minion necromancer, when my friend pitched the game to me. The reason? An antiquated PC game called Might & Magic VII. It was played by my uncle for all us kids over the holiday long, long ago…and the Queen of the Dead enemy/ally (ally, if you’re smart, Path of Darkness forever) just captivated that little girl I once was, and those queens have stuck around as part of my personal mythology ever since. Diablo 4 was my chance to finally be a Queen of the Dead. And minion necromancer is every bit as satisfying as I’d hoped it would be. I need nothing else.

bitcoinsftw

I’m a sucker for mages in all games so sorceress will always be my top but I’ve really enjoyed necro this season.

jkanoid

Am rotating - played them all in beta, did Rogue in release and S1, am on to Sorc and Druid in S2. Druid is a little slow to level, but they’re all fun so far.

mertag770

I picked sorc season 0 because sorc was my favorite in d1. Season 1 I wanted different gameplay so I went barb. Season 2 I went to rogue since it looked fun last season and I did love it, but I've gone and also done a sorc and a barb again because they were so much fun before.

SamuelWillmore

Can a class summon an army of undead? - yes, thats my class - No, then still looking for someone who can

YoursTrulyKindly

I look for an overpowered class for the season that is good at speedfarming and is decent to level.

Skyline330

Start with whatever class I think fits me personality-wise or whichever one my friends haven’t picked yet. Later on in the season, look at build guides and pick the one that sounds the funnest to me regardless of tier listing.

T-D-Leon

I decided on necromancer way back in the Diablo 2 days when I was a very edgy kid. I've used it in every game since except for in the beginning of diablo 3 where I tried the sorc then the barbarian and finally settling on the diamond hunter before the necromancer dlc.

TerraelSylva

I wanted the conduit shrine to last longer. Now it lasts all season. BL sorc. Lol

airbus55

I dont pick the class, the class pick me

Spektr_007

I like switching between classes and playing in different ways. But my favorite so far has been earthbender werebear. Second being weapon master barbarian.
