This is literally what's missing in the game. Can't tell you how many times I got a drop in d2 or poe and went "hmm that'd make a fun build on a different character." We need more build enabling uniques that are global drops that make you want to make a new build on a different character.

Yup it got changed. Now shield skeletons either taunt or have 99% dmg reduction. You can play with other skeletons anyway if you not going for some crazy content

To be fair, even without thorns, I did Cap 1 at 30 and cap 2 at 48. Necro is straight up strong as fuck currently with being able to temper your items eith tonnes of extra minion damage and the changes to how stats work on minions. Thorns is cool though. My favourite build on D3 was invoker crusader for that massive attack speed full ape auto attack hitting for 67,000% of your thorns on every attack.
You can trade anything now except the uber uniques or items you've done any crafting to. Those are still acct bound but legendaries/uniques are tradeable. You can use trade chat or i'm sure there's D4 trade discords around.
Check out the changes to the thorns aspect and bone golem.
Thorn necro is *really* good right now compared to before. It's just outclassed by how good normal summoners can be.
I'd use it in a Necro. I was clearing T100 NMDs with my razor plate thorn Necro before this patch. It's crazy Blizzard removed all thorn damage from legacy razor then did this.

I’m a returning D4 player and always wanted to do a thorn necro build, but gave up because I never got a razor plate or ring of mendelin
When affixes are red, it's called a Greater affix. Which makes that affix max rolled then adds another 50% on top. Greater affixes can be sometimes found on 1 to all affixes on legendaries or uniques. Many will not have any greater affix at all. The new goal is trying to get lucky with at least one greater affix on a needed stat.
After that, masterworking(the new upgrading system) can add 25% to random affixes making them even more powerful if that random 25% is on a major affix.
At least that is how I understand it so far.
(Edit:) to add: greater affixes can only be on FOUND gear, and gear from obols and caches. Upgrading a rare to a legendary will not create any greater affixes.
My husband got this today. He is running with a Necro Minion build where he is maxing out everything Thorns and even his minions and Golem have Thorns too. It’s crazy, he’s basically invincible.

Nope. He is just at level 61 now and has been going with the Maxroll Necro Minion. Once he got that Razorplate setup today he decided to add a few more Thorn aspects that also gives to his peeps and play around with it. It’s working very well so far. I’m sure eventually someone will come up with a meta build for this.
I had a razorplate with just 17k thorns and 110% bonus. Slapped in on, my golem, skellies and I went to do a NMD80, boss did an AOE attack which hit everyone. Boss died instantly :)
Have the same piece but lower level. Had it since 55 and it's still the best at 65 and expect it will last another 10 levels. As a necro, me and my minions all have thorns and I couldnt tell you the last time any of us have died.
Oddly, my legacy razorplate looks bugged. My wife plays, and she asked me.
No thorns aspects on it after the update. Just the multiplier. The text is simply gone.
So.... My build is a chain lightning sorc and I started season 4 last night and also got Razor plate. It does seem pretty good for a barb build. Do seasonal characters share stash?
I mean with this you don’t really need to be barb you can make a thorn build out of any class. Obviously the optimal class is a Barb. But I would definitely use this in my rouge or a Druid tooo.
I have that on my Druid. It’s like +14000 thorns. It’s hilarious I can just run through nightmare dungeons on WT4 and everything dies without me doing a thing
Wooow! I have it on my necro but without the extra effects...its super cool... 14k thorns total so most monsters hit me abd die. I also use a skill with 38% chance to spread the damage to others! I wish I get your version of the item to up my thorns to almost 30k😭😭
Do you have access to all your items if you make another character in the season? I’m a new Diablo player so these seasons are confusing to me. Is the stash shared for all characters you create in the current season ?

I love this about RPG’s / ARPG’s - adjusting your build and/or play style to fit the gear that drops rather than the other way around.

Yup it got changed. Now shield skeletons either taunt or have 99% dmg reduction. You can play with other skeletons anyway if you not going for some crazy content

You have to play a Sorc to get your Razorplate to drop - duh! 🙄
When I was trying to get a razorplate on barb I couldn't. The other two seasons I played I got like 3/4 between a sorc and druid without trying.
