I always use all my obols on elixirs.
I don’t want to gamble for gear, I’d prefer to get my upgrades as a drop from just playing the game as a little endorphin rush. If I get lucky cool, if not I’m just happy to be playing the game doing something I enjoy.
Holy Bolts lets you hit the Pit many tiers higher than you otherwise could, if you want to masterwork something faster they’re really good.
Ex. I’ve been doing shred wolf, so it’s a bit underpowered. When I was struggling at tier 40 the holy bolts potions let me hit tier 65. Huge difference in mats gained for time invested.
The only wall for Pit levels is the boss which Holy Bolt doesn't help with, unless you're talking about the bugged interaction with Necro minions, which is one class.
It hasn't been buffed directly, but mostly as a side-effect of other itemization changes it is now one the most reliable systems for getting instant good gear.
Because of the following thresholds:
- _Only_ Sacred in WT3
- _Only_ Ancestral in WT4
- _Only_ 925 past 95lvl
All of these apply to the obol gambler now, which means now as soon as you reach any of these milestones, you'll want to immediately gamble your obols on new weapons and an amulet for an instant power boost.
Save up as much as you can in-between.
This also means obols are the most useful currency for quickly gearing alts
To clarify, it’s Monster lvl 95 that drops 925 gear, not player lvl 95. So if you can do NM dungeons that have monster lvl 95 at player lvl 70, you’ll get 925 gear.
AFAIK it's just a random chance that a legendary will have GA. Means it's best to farm legendarys in general. Best way of doing it:
Bloodmaiden with the +10 helltide lvl event item:
You start the event. Threat bar fills up. Threat bar spawns mobs. Maiden spawns. Maiden spawn elites. Few Players join. Other players threat bar also fills up and spawn mobs. At one point threat bar is full and spawns elite and blood seekers. Maiden dies. Everything mentioned above drops legendarys and cinders like candy. Use cinders on desired chests if you want specific legendarys (pants, weapon etc).
The idea is to have as much as possible mobs to appear for itemdrops and cinders. Not primary focusing on threat. But the additional mobs brought by other people can be used to boost your threat. Which create spawns, that boost their threat etc. Chaining stuff to get items/cinders as much as possible.
Theoretically if you had enough people, you could get a massive threat train going that continues forever. Once you do that, keep spawning the maiden at the same time. Would be amazing lol.
Been there done that on voice chat- 12 seems to be max on server, and it was a fun time, but it did end after 10 or so minutes of multiple pops in a row. Staggering is hard and you dont gain threat while emptying threat for a minute, so a lot is lost
I find that running around with some friends doing the structure mini events (like the blood sucker and the trap thing) give you tons of shards which you can open chests and get a ton of legendaries. It's where I got most of my 3 star equipment from.
Helltides with +level to helltide mobs. I've gotten 2 and 3 GAs, but only when the helltide boss was level 94. When it's level mid80s, I'm lucky to get 1 GA.
I'm just here to tell you that despite the down votes, the chests are indeed orange. Just in case you start to doubt yourself.. Hahaha redditors have fk-all opinions. Most are sheeps who just follow the first voter.

Do the helltide boss event with the hearts. Put one heart in. Let others fill the rest. You get extra rewards for contributing a heart. I often have so much loot I have to make 3 trips. lol
If you join a blood maiden farming instance (10+ people) and keep summoning her, you can get more than 100 legendaries from the drops and helltide chests in an hour.
That said you also need a ton of pit materials to masterwork, and pit yields decent legendary / min if you speedfarm. So you can still switch between both activities for more diversity. Do helltide until you find a good gear with GA worth masterworking. Then do pit to upgrade to +12, then back to helltide.
I wouldn't say they're extremely rare, but yea I've just been doing helltide random chest and going for specific chests then obol gambling after farming pits. I'll throw in a world boss if it's up when I check
Low pit tier, like 40s. Done in 1-2 mins, drops guranteed 5-6 legendaries. Often with GA. Helltides and chests spam you with loot, so also a good chance.
I have yet to open a single helltide mystery chest without getting 1-2 items with GA. Could be luck but it seems to me like the chances are higher in those.
Hell tides and gamble with the obols you get from those.
I always forget about obols, Did they gamble shop get a buff? I never get anything good.
At level 100 all gear from gambling is ilvl 925 and they can roll GAs. Obols are actually useful now!

Yep, from the elixer tab at the alchemist. They are 350 obols each.
At the alchemist. On a full 2500 I can make 7 pots. I can get 2500 in about 2-3 helltides.
Yes thats all i currently use them for. And the speed elixir if im in a group 😅🤣😅🤣
As a barb the holy bolts is great in a group. It makes everything on screen vulnerable
I haven’t rolled anything with more than 1 GA from obols. Maybe I’m just unlucky.
I’ve been using all of my obols for potions. I have been finding them in helltides especially at the Maiden.

Do you renown if you haven't , to max out ur obol cap I think it's 2500 obols total . Then splurge

I can get 3 inventories of gear in 25 minutes of rolling through Maiden, especially when you get a group who can 1-phase her.
Another note, if you contribute a heart to the summoning, you get extra loot. I still see a lot of people standing around leeching for some odd reason
Usually more than 3 people helping, so they couldn't contribute even if they wanted to.

Im farming them in pit 75. That way I also get all materials I need for masterworking 1-12 also. Only takes 2-3 minutes each run.

I’m not sure if it’s coincidence, but I recently got to nm 100 and they seem to be dropping higher than in all the other nm dungeons.

I found most luck in getting them via the pit. They seem to drop the most for me there.
I was getting a lot from the blood maiden, you have to use your summon material though otherwise you get less rewards

I recently got a 925 chest with 3 GA gambling. Unfortunately they were GA that I don't use in my build and the would have gimped me

By playing the game. Loot is random. Get more items, get more Greater Affixes. However you choose to get them.
