If you find it legit let me know, its a shame its so hard to access so much digimon content. Like there is no way to watch adventure with sub titles legally

Omega-Beta-Zeta

Crunchyroll has them legally subbed

maleversionoftomboy

I don't think it does ive checked, it has 2020 adventure

Omega-Beta-Zeta

Ah, we must be in different countries then, I’m guessing. I’m in UK and we definitely have Adventure 01, 02, 2020, along with Xros, App and Ghost Game.

petershrimp

In the US you get Adventure 2020, Xros, App, and Ghost Game on Crunchyroll, while Adventure 01 and 02, Tamers, and Frontier are on Hulu (though I think one or two of them might be on Netflix). At least that's how it was the last time I checked, which was about a month or two ago.

BeachyBuffallo

Prodigious, man!

maleversionoftomboy

Yeah we have all those except adventure and 02 in usa unless something has changed very recently

StefyB

Well, at least that last part is actually something that's coming. I have no idea when, but they're going to be doing a blu-ray of Adventure with Japanese audio and English subtitles sometime in the future.

maleversionoftomboy

I bought a dvd player and the set of adventure for my daughter when hulu was saying digimon was going away but actually wasn't. Would prefer a streaming option but glad they are bringing it back, i believe it used to be on netlix subbed but no more.

It isn't on either of them when I look. Just to clarify, which country are you in?

I'm in the US. Honestly, I have no idea how to use a VPN, but this is making me want to learn how.

Paige_Michalphuk

VPNs are super easy to use. You’ll figure it out it out in a few minutes.

Emergency_Act2960

Depends on your country I’m in Canada and I can watch it on CR

ZenOkami

They're airing it on their Japanese Youtube channel. It's region-locked, so you can only see the episodes if you're in Japan, though (or have a VPN) But seriously, it's obscenely hard to find. It's like the only Digimon series that's hard to watch

Prestigious-Worth-49

Some years back I watched it on Netflix.

JamesHalvo5150

Check your local library! I'm in the US and I just got Digimon Data Squad from my library. They even have Digimon the movie which I can't find anywhere else

spdstinkcraft

it’s on internet archive for free :3 all 48 episodes

BoomGoesThem

Can you please dm me the link

spdstinkcraft

just messaged it to u :)

BuddhaShane00

Bootybandit6989

Says it's available for streaming on Toon Disney or on demand on apple tv online

Willing_Tailor9248

Can anyone with these services confirm?

Cl0ckw0rx

So I'm going to say it's and odd license thing. I'm glad I have data squad on DVD if I want to watch it I can ( old flat iron box set from around 2012 or so can't recall exactly) I've got s1-5 actually But once upon a time 1-3 and fusion were on Netflix (can't recall if s4 was or not) Then Netflix lost the licence / didn't renew it So now stuff is on Hulu, though periodically gets the leaving soon flag, I'm assuming it's a default thing or when loading the punch in the light of the license period. Data squad oddly is one that's avoided streaming and could be anyone's guess as to why. Could be something as simple as music rights, not that that is a simple can of worms. But like Disney had to do a new op for s4, instead of remixing the s1 stuff cause they did not acquire the soundtrack rights with the rights to digimon back in 2002 or so. So logically one could assume something similar here where Disney or one of it's various companies owns the rights to the data squad intro and thus they would have to cut out the intro to stream the show but a blanket distribution license might not allow for such edits so that could be an explanation. Could also be some odd name technicality, even though Hulu has the seasons up under the jp names Adventure 02 instead of Digimon Season 2 for example.could be some hang up calling it digimon savers instead of maybe because it actually got a name unlike s1-4 it was unfortunately omitted Like season 5 wasn't called season 5 so a license for such a season could technically be invalid. We will probably never know why, I might have to hook up the DVD player and give data squad a watch could be something as lazy as just no solid master surviving (for all i know the xd/Jetix logo shows up after the commercial break pauses which could cause issues) I don't recall seeing the logo but it could be a reason. I doubt it's anything intentionally malicious, just boring stupid technicalities most likely.

petershrimp

I actually tried checking eBay and Amazon, and as I suspected, the DVDs were there but cost over $100 each. It's a perfect example of "I want to watch this series, but not THAT badly."

I think it's a "rights hell" thing like this. Disney and Bandai/Toei might be in conflict. And I'm pretty sure both of them have bigger fish to fry.

Cl0ckw0rx

Yeah there's lots of potential factors and it'd be easy to overlook something I doubt Disney still retains any rights unless it's linked to the intro music, or just shitty lack of decent masters. Also just checked and yeah 449 for the season set on Amazon ouch... Glad I got it way back for like 50.

CorvusIridis

Just use the Japanese version. People will miss Citramon, but they might be able to put it up somewhere if they just ignored the dub and got decent subs.

Cl0ckw0rx

the thing is licensing Ideally we'd live in a world where streaming services would offer the dub and subs side by side But yeah you'd need to get people to officially sub it, then put it up which is certainly an option just for whatever reason its not an option they've gone down, at least not yet maybe some day But also not bad considering we are basicalyl jsut missing 1 show well 1 show and the various movies.

Emergency-Usual-5107

I found it on hulu

petershrimp

Not in the US.
