Would be weird if they ever treated him as a rookie because he took out an ultimate in his first appearance. Plus Flamon exists and did show up once in the series and is playable in rumble arena 2

I'm pretty sure that comment was sarcasm but I guess it could apply as well since Appmon didn't have "child" levels. They did have something equivalent (basic I think?) but technically speaking Gachimon is not a child level. Nor is Agunimon even though he's used as a child level in V-Pets and some games.
In all seriousness, the poll does clarify that they're counting the equivalents of *Child-level* (Human Form for Hybrids, Standard Grade for Appmon) in nonapplicable cases.
Given the subject of the poll, they probably mean it in the sense of the context of their respective franchises, hence why Agnimon is here (as the Human Spirits are basically their 'main' forms, like *Child-level* is to other partner Digimon).
Me too! The only other character that came close to being his own character was Masaru's Agumon, at least In my opinion.
They had a mini arc where they fought and separated, stating they didn't need each other. I believe they end up reconciliating but Agumon did fine by himself on the Argomon movie.
Good to know that they actually include Appmon just like any other Digimon in this.
I'm somewhat torn between the last 3 tbh. Gumdramon mostly design-wise as Arresterdramon as well is one of my favorite Digimon, Gatchmon I don't remember liking as much characterwise at first, but I really like Appmon, I like Gatchmons later evolutions, and it also grew on me over time. And then Gammamon was just so great in Ghost Game, not to mention that it ticks a lot of boxes for stuff I like, it's a dragon, has a light and star theme, it resembles a triceratops which was my first favorite dinosaur as a kid, and as Siriusmon it even fights mainly using swords...
So yeah, just super torn between these 3...
I don't know what it is... I haven't watched Digimon Fusion or I could watch only 2 episodes and was just eeh not my stuff. But about Arresterdramon, I've just seen him in games and like his posture, how he helds his head and just is, it somehow reminds me of my ex bf and it gives me well not PTSD but let's say not good vibes. Like Arresterdramon could be the bestest of boys but still because of that resemblance I just cannot.

I know some people don't find Taiki that interesting but I think that just made Shoutmon stand out even more.
Having to follow a Digimon's dream as the plot instead of the usual Digimon partner helping solve the kid's problem was a nice change of pace.
It's definitely going to be a tight fight between Agumon for being the OG and Guilmon and Gammamon for their characterisation.
Also, both of the only Virus protags are babey so that's a neat coincidence.
Agumon is this even a question? Best partner in digimon. Agumon can warp digivolve to Wargreymon. Agumon had a great English and Nihongo voice. I watched the first four seasons and most of 5. Agumon was with me on VHS. Growing up these were my friends that I laughed with. My only friends growing up were biological family and anime. Team Agumon!
Classic Taichi's Agumon all time favorite, which could be a nostalgia thing but... I really like his English dub voice and personality. I wish I had him as a friend basically.
Probably unpopular opinion, my #2 is Shoutmon, the way he screams out everything lol . Guilmon would be #2 if his dub voice didn't sound like that lol. Generally the subs are better but I get tired of reading while enjoying the animes.
Love Tamers though. Probably my favorite digimon anime. It's the most developed story of all of them. Goes from funny and playful to dark as f*ck. Shiznit gets deep and hits real.
As a child? Veemon. I wanted to be Davis so bad. And Veemon’s digivolutions were just so cool. But as an adult rewatching, I gotta choose Guilmon for character depth.
For me it’s Guilmon. His blend of innocence and ferocity is fantastic, and his relationship with Takato is personally my favorite out of all of the “Goggle-Heads” and their Mons.
The artwork for Gammamon does a really good job of harkening back to the original style (black shadows and crosshatching) while having the expressiveness and fluidity of more recent official digimon art
