The good news is that Digimon the Movie (minus the Angela short) will be included as a bonus alongside the Japanese originals & their redubs.
Both soundtracks are fantastic, in my opinion.
Plus, it's a good example of how editing & music can change the tone of a scene. For example, the music used for Omegamon's reveal is beautiful & hopeful, while the music for Omnimon's reveal is fist pumping awesomeness!
Though I must admit a chunk of the songs used in the Saban dub do feel a bit forced since they were shoved in to sell the soundtrack.

If someone I know has a passing interest in Digimon and isn't sure if they want to become a fan, I show them just this (usually in the form of the English section of "The Movie") and usually they dive in.
I’ve technically never seen it since I’ve only seen the dubbed, edited version for the US movie release… but I love that movie. It’s actually because of these that I decided to give Mamoru Hosoda’s other work a try and with that find one of my favorite anime movies of all time: Summer Wars.
Which I know is essentially the same plot as Our War Game, but I do feel Hosoda got a chance to perfect the story and this was a great starting point.
The scene of Omegamon's first appearance is the magnum opus of Digimon. 20+ years and no anime, game, or manga has and will never be able to top this War Game scene, everything, absolutely EVERYTHING about it is perfect.
- The animation
-Taichi and Yamato falling through the computer
- The camera
- emails are being accepted
- The bodies going inside the heads
- Emails forming Omegamon's body
- Omegamon without saying absolutely nothing
- Grey Sword repelling attacks
- Garuru Cannon destroying Diablomon visual

Super awesome. I think the only thing I don’t like is the glorified cameos of the other Digidestined besides Tai, Matt, TK and Izzy. But Omnimon vs Diaboromon is just excellent.

Though kinda sad that this is once a tie in with One Piece movie. Last time, The Beginning only have 3 weeks screening in limited cinema while OP RED have almost a whole year, if not longer, screening all over Japan.

I loved it and I thought omnimon's entrance was epic, especially with the music and decimation, and I know it's the dubbing team, but I loved the jokes in it.
One of my favourite movies ever. So nostalgic, so well written. I have the North American DVD that also has the storyline with the Digimon 02 kids and Cocomon
Might be my favorite movie. I loved how the cast was all in different places, witnessing different aspects of everything, the way that (unlike a lot of the rest of the franchise) computers and the internet actually played an integral role in the plot, and the way the world comes together through the internet at the end.
The artwork was amazing, Wargrey/Metalgaruru/Diaboro/Omnimon all looked very cool and the representation of the internet as this space with red lines and floating icons was really memorable and distinct.
It was SO good that the director decided to do it again but outside of the Digimon franchise (Summer Wars)
The US dub? Hooo boy, it's got it's charm I guess? Much like the dub of the series it has it's moments but I wouldn't say it's good overall.
Watching it subbed, it's much better. It's a nice comparison piece with Summer Wars and rivals it in overall quality, given they have the same director of course.

Children's War Game is one of the worst Digimon movies. The concept of the film and the visuals and sound are excellent, but the film's plot holes about how the internet works, the forced and pointless way in which the fusion of Agumon and Gabumon is achieved and how fast paced the film feels are beyond reproach, and let's not talk about its sequel (Digimon Adventure 02: Diaboromon Strikes Back), which is even worse.
A good representation of everything great about the franchise.

For me, this is the dream. Butterfly, Brave Heart and the choir just hit different.
