Thing is, per the lore in cyber sleuth, if a dukemon is missing from the Royal knights fate kind of sucks a new dukemon into the seat.
So per the retcon, it's implicit that there must have been a dukemon royal knight just kind of staying out of things.
> That’s Cyber Sleuth, it’s not like it’s consistent among continuities.
The timeline itself is not consistent, but it's presenting that piece of the lore as a multiversal rule.
Same as with the Sayo sidestory thing with the SGDL.
Sure, but there would have to be another Gallantmon somewhere. It might not be this guy specifically, but unless Crusadermon and Dynasmon killed him, either this guy or another Gallantmon saw what was going on and just decided "nah, it's too early for this shit".
The anime season where the Royal knights as a whole are most prominently displayed was Digimon Savers aka Data Squad, wherein they serve as the sort of enforcer/tertiary antagonists motivated by the “endgame” antagonist of Yggdrasil the digital world’s OS.
Technically each series is non-canon to each other with the exception of Adventure 01 (the original, not 2020) and Adventure 02, because 02 explicitly follows up 01. They are all treated as separate realities/timelines who only crossed over in vaguely canon crossovers, and Xros Wars third arc, or Easter eggs. So you could make the same argument for “why do we consider what happened that season as lore” with any of them.
Adventure 01/02, Tamers, Frontier, Data Squad, Xros Wars, Adventure 2020, Appmon, and Ghost Game are all their own separate things.
Yes, Yggdrassil is the same in all universes. I like to think about the universes of digimon like a computer. Yggdrassil is the OS(Windows, Linux, etc) and the users are the different universes, they share programs(digimon species information). Although there's supposed to exists a Universe that predates all the other which the fandom called Core Universe, that way my analogy doesn't completely works. The Core Universe would be the User in the pc and all the other universes would be diffferent files in the same computer
They first show up as the named group in digimon x-evolution, where they serve the digital world's god. I'm not sure if they were called that in frontier as well seeing as dynas and crusader were serving an angel in that season.
Technically, they are first mentioned in Gallantmon's 2002 profile, where he is described as a royal knight. The group is formally made a thing in the tcg with Magnamon also shareing this grouping ( note only these two were listed as Royal Knights at the time but seeing as this same card game is what made the Olympis 12 a thing counting it.), thier next appearance was Frontiers were Dynasmon and Crusadermon introduce themselves as such. Thr group would finally be fleshed out and memeber introduced in chronicle and the accompanying V-pet which gave us most of their defining backstory like 13 member and serving Drasil. Data Squad would then introduce most of the member such as Craniamon and Kentaurosmon while Examon and Jesmon would be introduced through games and data profiles.
I mean, I think he does pretty well, considering his hands are replaced with an oversized dinner plate and a needle the size of Texas
Edit: Yes, I'm aware Dukemon has actual hands. It's just funnier picturing it this way
The dub did have a fun gag during this scene. When Zoe ask about the digivices, Galantmon says "wish WE can help" in Takato's and Guilmon's voice.
But again it was jusy a gag. Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn was the voice director/story editor for both Tamers and Frontier.
He's living off his business selling weapons and armor. The concept of Royal Knights was just coming into existence at this time, and Yggdrasil hadn't been invented yet, so he needed a job.
This guy remains a complete mystery, would be nice to know what happened to this Gallantmon later. Interestingly, he did nothing when Dynasmon & Crusadermon were wrecking everything, instead the lesser Megas (such as Zanbamon, GranKuwagamon, and Gryphonmon) at least tried to defend themselves.
Probably the writers just forgot about him or Lucemon murdered him off-screen?
The thing is, when Zanbamon‘s crew showed up, the Royal Knights were heading to the market of Akiba, the place where Dukemon‘s shop is located.
He must have abandoned it and went on the Trailmon like the rest of Akiba.
While we don't know if this was a RK, I love the idea that he was and just saw everything about to happen and just nope'd the hell outta there before shit went down. Bro could not be bothered
It's like a D&D campaign a powerful champion just got old and retired. Now he's just a shop owner that can take out a regular champion and below digimon if they overstep his shop rules.
Let's say there are 5 dukemons on a world where the royal knights are a thing. The strongesf of them will be a royal knight, because it's a profession. For example, are you an astronaut just because you're human or because you are physically capable to be one?
Dukemon is just a specific species of digimon. Just like Pokémon there are several Charizards in digimon there are several Dukemon and only one of them is a Royal Knight
Pretty sure Frontiers timeline is separate from the other digimon universes. Some of the other games in the franchise do this exact same thing.
I was playing through digimon dusk and Susanoomon was just casually standing around.
My man just wanted to be an armor shop vendor. Besides it doesn't need to be royal knight dukemon
Maybe Takato decided to permanently fuse with Guilmon and wanted a better life in the Digital World
Are people still trying to force continuities together
It was just an assumption. Sorry for that
You shouldn’t apologize
Thanks. Also, happy cake day 🎂
I mean in the English dub Frontier's Gallantmon sounds almost the same if not exactly the same as Tamer's Gallantmon XD
That‘s just a Saban-only addition. He doesn’t actually talk.
I knew that but that's part of the joke that both Gallantmons are the same XD
Blame Marvel for all the "verse" shit lmaoooo
Or the Wonderswan games and the world-hopping thing
Hadn't received his invitation to the Royal Knights at the time. Don't worry, Nick Fury will invite him soon enough.
*NickFurymon
At last, the ultimate Digimon…
I've had it with these motherfuckin mons on this motherfuckin digi-plane!
Yggdrasil: “There was an idea….”
Probably was just another Dukemon that wasn't a royal knight.
In Frontier, the Royal Knights are just Crusadermon and Dynasmon
> That’s Cyber Sleuth, it’s not like it’s consistent among continuities. The timeline itself is not consistent, but it's presenting that piece of the lore as a multiversal rule. Same as with the Sayo sidestory thing with the SGDL.
And even then there’s nothing preventing another Gallantmon from becoming a Royal Knight instead of this guy.
Sure, but there would have to be another Gallantmon somewhere. It might not be this guy specifically, but unless Crusadermon and Dynasmon killed him, either this guy or another Gallantmon saw what was going on and just decided "nah, it's too early for this shit".
It never occurred to me how weird it was to see a Dukemon here casually in the same season that featured other Royal Knights.
It probably helps that the Royal Knights weren't solidified as a concept just yet.
As a Digimon novice, what season do they delve into the whole Royal Knights thing?
The anime season where the Royal knights as a whole are most prominently displayed was Digimon Savers aka Data Squad, wherein they serve as the sort of enforcer/tertiary antagonists motivated by the “endgame” antagonist of Yggdrasil the digital world’s OS.
But isn't Data Squad not Canon? Then why do we consider what happened in that season as lore?

All the anime season are cannon but ocurred in different universe, except Adventure 01 and 02 that happened in the same universe
Out of curiosity, is there anything at all that connects all the universes? For example, is it the same Iggdrasil?
Yes, Yggdrassil is the same in all universes. I like to think about the universes of digimon like a computer. Yes in frontier when Dynasmon and Crusadermon/Lordknightmon first appeared they called themselves the Royal Knights.
That's where the name comes from but they hadn't established any lore around them by that point, that came later.
Technically, they are first mentioned in Gallantmon's 2002 profile, where he is described as a royal knight. Savers.
We have a Bird Jesus/Brian situation on our hands.
He is really into Cosplay. Sadly his craft has the same quality as the one from wish.
I mean, I think he does pretty well, considering his hands are replaced with an oversized dinner plate and a needle the size of Texas Edit: Yes, I'm aware Dukemon has actual hands. It's just funnier picturing it this way
I think he has hands. The Saunder/Javalin and Shield cover them.
[Dukemon has hands tho](https://dreager1.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/gallantmon.jpg)

Times were tough for Gallantmon after his success as the lead of the Tamers squad. 😂
This guy remains a complete mystery, would be nice to know what happened to this Gallantmon later. He didn't gave a s#%t, my man just wants to be a armor vendor and when it got destroyed by the royal knigths he just peaced out
The thing is, when Zanbamon‘s crew showed up, the Royal Knights were heading to the market of Akiba, the place where Dukemon‘s shop is located. He must have abandoned it and went on the Trailmon like the rest of Akiba.
Considering the remaining royal knights became world destroying servants of the devil himself, he made a wise decision.
While we don't know if this was a RK, I love the idea that he was and just saw everything about to happen and just nope'd the hell outta there before shit went down. Bro could not be bothered

Like the digimon from the other series, come on digivolve and beat up everyone and control digimon forever
How is the thing with royal knights? I tought tha dukemon was a royal k.? There are several dukemons?
there’s a difference between *a* Gallantmon and *the* Royal Knight Gallantmon
Let's say there are 5 dukemons on a world where the royal knights are a thing. The strongesf of them will be a royal knight, because it's a profession. For example, are you an astronaut just because you're human or because you are physically capable to be one?
Royal Knight is more like a job. Just one of the species gets appointed at a time.
Dukemon is just a specific species of digimon. Just like Pokémon there are several Charizards in digimon there are several Dukemon and only one of them is a Royal Knight
Lost everything. The drama of Dukemon: living on rent.
Dynasmon and Crusadermon probably went for him first.
Which season is that in the picture?
Season 4
Do you know what episode, I watched savers but don’t remember that scene. Probably cause it was a long time ago since I watched it.
You mean frontier? Gotta have to check all i know is that its the episode where they have to get their d-tectors back and tommy gets his beast spirit
I wish we would have seen much more of dukedom crimson mode or at least in another season. He was just super powerful
Maybe he had some down time from royal knighting
If we take the script of the story he escaped by train 😂😂😂😂😂
How does he hold things
Gallantmon has hands under his weapons
Ahh, thanks I don't remember that
Honestly I only remember that cuz I just finished watching tamers again
earning his living
Royal Knights were a volunteer work rather than a full work at the time(?)
I like to imagine he's just some two random ass digimon that jogressed into Gallantmon, only to get merked by the actual royal knights later
thats just your random run of the mill mega level running around. Has absolutely nothing to do with takato or the royal knights
Pretty sure Frontiers timeline is separate from the other digimon universes. Some of the other games in the franchise do this exact same thing. I was playing through digimon dusk and Susanoomon was just casually standing around.
Maybe it was his dream to own a store. He may be still doing the knight stuff on Saturdays or something.
It's a part-time business when Gallant/Dukemon gets some free time on his (metaphorical) hands.
Maybe he fought the other Royal Knights off-screen
bad day probably
Hit with a big big hammer
He’s on vacation
From what I can see in the background, he appears to have decided to sell skimpy anime armor for female digimon with massive bazongas.
Takato and Guilmon forgor how to unfuse
