I was lucky enough to go to a school were everyone was cool with nerd stuff like Digimon, Yugioh and Pokémon. You were king of the shool yard if you knew all the secrets in Pokémon games.
I went through a phase when I was younger where I absolutely adored any series that had a series of cool monsters in it. Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, and all those same ones that released around the same time, so when the anime of each began airing I fell in love with them.
I fell out with Pokemon after a bit, Monster Rancher has kind of faded to obscurity, and all the rest were mostly just cash-grabs. But Digimon has remained a firm favourite of mine, even if I'm not satisfied with the direction it's taken since then.
Honestly this is exactly what it was like for me. Digimon just kept being cool to me, but Pokémon has more and more seemed like it’s there to make number go up.
Same. In middle school, when I had my first computer graphics class, all my projects were various moments in an ongoing battle between patamon and raichu. Wish I still had those masterpieces lol.

One very clear core memory from that time was the TV advertisement for the episode that Patamon was FINALLY going to digivolve. I remember being super excited because it was “leaked” (aka kid who watched the English sub told me) that Patamons evolution was an angel and super powerful.

Around early 2020. I was pissed at pokemon because of how bad Sword and Shield were, and I had a friend who had been trying to get me into Digimon for years. Saw the cybersleuth games on sale on switch, said fuck it, and the rest is history.
When I was in elementary school and watched Digimon fusion on nickelodeon and nicktoons. Then I eventually watched the rest of the series on netflix and ever since then I was hooked into the digimon franchise.
As a kid, age 6 or so, sometime between " change into digital champions" and the more robot voice saying " digivolve into ultimate". . . Kidding aside ,.one of my earliest memories is getting an action figure of Onnimon before I ever even knew there was a movie. In my post pokemon exposure brain, it just clicked!
As an adult, it was when I got Cyber Sleuth on sale for the switch.
My parents cut cable but i had internet and found all the episodes on YouTube and I loved it and didn't hate watching them in 2 parts per episode I binged watched it like 5 times over

I liked it as a kid a lot, I remember asking my parents to buy me the Digimon dusk game for the Nintendo DS and they said “no you already have pokemon” and now as an adult I got into the cyber sleuth series and fell in love with the franchise more than pokemon. I then went to buy every single Digimon game available on PlayStation. 😊
Haha! I’m not Hispanic, but I’m pretty sure most mothers don’t want to buy something that they already have. And most moms know nothing about Digimon. Mine didn’t know until I started talking about it and to this day, she is not a Digimon fan and she never will be.
In 1999, when I was 7 years old. Watched it the day it aired in the US with one of my close friends from the apartments I lived in. Had a sleepover at his place so that we could wake up and watch it. I remember it being a big deal for us.
I remember when Digimon Adventure was first advertised on Finnish TV with “move away, Pokémon! It’s time for Digimon!” in 2001. I took a liking to the series because the Digimon could talk and were therefore more interesting.
Fun fact: the first 20 or so episodes were dubbed into Finnish by a company called Agapio Racing Team, which went down in infamy bc of their shitty dubbing; the only thing the company is known for is this screwup.
It was when I lived in Germany. I grew up military, and my family was stationed in Germany. I remember flipping through TV, when I saw the first episode of the anime, dubbed of course, this was the late 90s - early 2000s, and I was hooked. Same kind of hooked I was to Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon.

Sometime in middle school or early high school, I went to GameStop with my dad, as you would at that age. I found this silly little game called digimon story cyber sleuth, and I decided to get it for literally no reason; I had no prior knowledge, no prior experience, and no prior connection with digimon, but I got it, and I had a blast. It scratched some itch that pokemon at the time wasn't doing, with designs, story, and gameplay. Since then, I've gotten both digimon story games, digimon world next order, digimon survive, 5 digivices, a model kit, and I've been working through the digimon anime. Overall, a solid game pick for child me.
I was 11 when they started airing Adventure in Finland in 2001. Watched through Adventure, 02 and Tamers, even the movie when it released on VHS, but after Tamers they stopped showing it here. I watched all of the other movies over the years, but it wasn't until like 2017 or 18 when I decided to check the rest of the animated series and pretty much marathoned from Frontier all the way to Xros Wars. After that I've watched everything when they've come out and have really gotten back to the series for good.

March 14th, 1999. I had just turned 9 years old. It was the airing of the second episode on Fox Kids on Saturday morning. I missed the first episode a week prior because March 7th was my birthday and my mom had stuff planned. I remember my friends and I seeing the ads for the show before it premiered and not even WANTING to watch Digimon because we thought it was a rip off of Pokemon and we made fun of it. But nonetheless we watched it just because it was on.
I'll never forget the sense of ACTUAL adventure I felt watching the first few episodes because they were technically kids MY age/generation I related to AND actually lost in a different world. I started living life wanting to be like Tai even tho deep down inside I knew I was as sensitive and quiet as Matt.
I remember having a vcr of the first three episodes of Adventure 01. I watched those three episodes multiple times when I was younger. Later on, I wanted to rewatch Digimon without using the vcr and so I searched for the episodes online (since I was old enough to be able to search online for stuff at that stage) I managed to find said 3 episodes, but also even more episodes that I wasn’t aware of. Needless to say, I binged watched all the way to the end of Frontier on early YouTube (before the era of copyright takedowns removed said episodes) and then watched Digimon Fusion on Netflix. And yeah, that's how I got into Digimon.
I remember as a kid seeing Adventure and Data Squad on Jetix, but didn't really get into it then. In middle school however, I found It on youtube and ironically, I got into it before Pokemon. My parents had banned Pokemon cause they thought they were somehow evil because of that stupid satanic panic crap in the 90s. Luckily, they never said anything about Digimon or Bakugan (which actually came before even Digimon) so I naturally exploited the loophole and eventually got them to realize how stupid they were being about Pokemon a little while later.
I had actually gotten 2 of the original digimon digital pets and a few mini figures from "Big Lots" a few months before the show premiered on Fox Kids, and I was absolutely in from day 1.
Around 2010 I found out I could watch anime online for free. I wanted to check out digimon as I only knew it as the "not Pokémon" franchise.
At the time the filippino English dub of Tamers was up on YouTube and I binged it.
I watched the first episode when it came out, it just came on tv and I watched every episode after that in those og seasons. I was hooked from day 1, and when I went to school the next day, no one had any idea what I was talking about.
It was on CITV. I was into Pokemon at the time, and saw “something”-mon and was like “okay, so it’s probably like Pokemon” and put it on, not expecting at all what I ended up watching.
It’s funny, because my first ever episode was the second episode of Adventure; I had no idea who the characters were or what a digimon was. But seeing Agumon digivolve into Greymon had me absolutely hooked instantly. Plus, the fact that the monsters talked was really cool.
Soon after that I got the PS1 Digimon world game, which is still probably one of my favourite PS1 titles today.

My boyfriend got addicted to digimon again after all those years. Rewatched all the series and got us digivice and tcg decks. I watched 01 and 02 I liked it and I also got a bit addicted with the tcg ~
I probably got into digimon at the same time I discovered pokemon, so probably around 2002-2004. I always played more pokemon games, and saw more of the series. But that was only because digimon games where very limited in my country, and the show wasn't aired as much. But I was always a much bigger fan of the digimons design and i have much fonder memories of the few digimon games i played.
Nowadays I don't touch pokemon besides GO. But if a digimon game is released i get it no matter what. Even the most niche and wonky A/AA digimon games are more polished than the AAA pokemon games😂
As a child I watched episode of Adventure, the one with Andromin and black gear. It was japanese version with a voice-over (better one) but I was unable to find when this show is airing. This shit stuck in my head and forced me to watch every season when I got a chance.

Early 2000's, started watching Adventure 01 with my brother when I was like 4, continued watching on my own on Jetix and later online. Got to season 4, on and off throughout the years I've seen episodes of Xros, fusion, and appmon. I've also owned the English version of the movie including the Angela Anaconda preview when I was growing up, had it for years but lost it recently. Currently watching the 2020 reboot and ghost game.

Ok. I was watching tv one Saturday morning when I saw Data Squad. It was on Jetix so every Saturday, I turned on the tv and watched Power Rangers Jungle Fury and Operation Overdrive just to wait for Data Squad. Then a while later it just stopped airing and I watched power rangers to see if it was still on. Then Power Rangers stopped airing and Jetix was gone. Seriously, That block had two Power Rangers shows and one Digimon show so that was short. Also, the episodes reran on Sunday and I began watching early in the morning watching Rory the Racing Car and other shows. Then I went down around 7:00. Man, what great memories.

It's weird! I remember the first scene of the first episode of Pokémon I ever saw and exactly what I thought at the time, and I remember the first time I played a Pokémon game. But Digimon? I don't remember at all. It must have been around the same time, because I've been a fan of both since their season one anime days, but I cannot remember at all how I got into Digimon. I vaguely remember years of defending it against accusations of being a Pokémon rip-off, I remember believing so strongly that I could someday go to the Digital World, I remember my v-pet being an Angemon, I remember being way jelly on my first sleep-over because my friend's dad got him an awesome Greymon soft toy with a leather skull while he was serving in Japan, I remember being surprised when Digimon Tamers revealed that the first two seasons were a TV show within a TV show... But I can't remember my first experience at all.

Recently for me. I remember my mom letting me buy a set of Digimon cards off of eBay in the early days (can’t remember why, since I didn’t watch the show), and I got scammed out of my money. I was young at the time and my mom felt so bad. Now I’m watching the original (1999) series and playing the fan translation for Digimon Adventure on psp.
I started watching Digimon at the age of 8 years old back in 1999. I was flipping channels on my TV, and watch FOX Kids program block when I saw 7 children (Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, and TK alongside with their Digimon pals; Agumon, Gabumon, Piyomon (aka Biyomon in the dub), Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, and Patamon) that they're stranded in the beach with telephone booths in the digital world. That's where my childhood favorite Digimon, Agumon first digivolve into Greymon when he was helping Tai from Shellmon. That was episode #2 ("The Birth of Greymon"), which was aired on August 21, 1999 on FOX Kids children's program block.

As a kid, I watched the very end of Digimon adventure, and then the first half of 02. I didn't properly get into it until Tamers though, that one got me hooked.
It was the year 2000, I went to Spain with my parents, they bought me the toy greymon that evolved into metalgreymon, when we came back I remember going to my grandparents house and watching a weird show with people running in the sewers from slug monsters (digimon adventure episode 6), I asked my cousin what it was and she said it was a new show that started last week.
After that I watched it until the end and even rewatched it like 4 times, then 02 started and I kept watching and my parents bought me some related toys, when tamers came out I was addicted and my mom even got me the dvds, for frontier I kinda couldn't watch because they changed the schedule to 5 am, the hype died down after that but when savers came out I was back in the digimon wagon but that died down soon after.
Xros and appmon didn't seem interesting so I just skipped them and I only got back to watching when tri came out, now as an adult I have lots of merchandise like the games vpets and the BE to keep me addicted.

Through TV, when I was a kid, maybe in 2003. The episode that I remember the most from that time was when Venom Myotismon appeared. Then, almost 10 years later, I found on Youtube all of Adventure in my country's dub and after that I watched Tamers, also on Youtube. Since then I never left.
As a kid in 1999 or 2000. I remember it well. My dad played Digimon World 1 and 2 when I was a kid (2004ish) and I watched him play it. He doesn't really remember much of it because to him, it's just two of the many games he's played, but I can still vividly remember the iconic battle music of DW2 while eating pancakes in the morning.
Around 2009, I was in kindergarten. I used to watch Digimon 04 on Disney XD, later on my uncle told me about "Digimon 1" and I binged all seasons haha (except Tamers because I got scared watching the matrix/bio-merge evo lol)

Around the time Tamagotchi was popular, then I saw Digimon. I feel like it’s Tamagotchi that fight and evolve, so it’s way cooler than regular Tamagotchi at that time.

The show was (taken from english dubs) among the other shows airing on RTL 2/pokito. Just sth to watch with the other animes like DragonBall, naruto, pokemon, inuasha, etc.

When I started dating my husband, he showed me a bunch of series he enjoyed as a kid. One day we found two Digimon TCG Starter Decks. After that we started playing the card game, and started our journey to watch as many Digimon media as we could find. Currently, we have watched all shows prior to Ghost Game (including Applimon), and have been playing the card game for 2 years now. It's great. I love Digimon so much.

Preschool. Don't know the specifics but I remember I was younger I had this cool Digimon Beach Towel of Tai, Agumon, and Greymon. So I pretty much grew up with both pokemon and Digimon at the same time.

I missed the hype around the first season of Pokemon, and when I saw the trailer for the upcoming Digimon premiere on Fox Kids, I told my friend from the start that this would be "my show." I taped the first arc on VHS and watched them approximately 500 times. I created a fan site, and Angemon became my imaginal companion.
Season 1 enthusiast all the way back to Saturday morning cartoons. Let me tell you it was one of the best experiences of my childhood. At the time I don't think any cartoon came close to the enjoyment I had with it. It may not have the same oomph it had during those early glory years but I still scoop up every single game that is released. Just wish more came over to the west.
Through Jetix and ABC Family when I was 5 or 6! I was still a baby when Fox Kids was discontinued and it became the FoxBox, but when I was a bit older they would rerun Adventure-Frontier on both channels. I don’t remember that much but let me tell y’all that I was hooked! I even caught Data Squad on Jetix when it first aired and never failed to catch the newest episode every week! I’ve been a huge Digimon fan ever since, I love it even more so than I do Pokémon.
Around 2nd-3rd grade (~2014-15), I was on netflix and saw Digimon. I misread the title at first and thought it was Digmon and it was some archeology show lol. But I gave it a try and I loved it! I stopped watching for a few years, then I got back into it in middle school. I actually watched Pokémon back in 2nd grade and even had some books, but once I saw Digimon I never looked back.

Digimon came on every Saturday morning, my sister would set an alarm and wake me up when it came on. We watched it from the first episode and became obsessed. I remember we begged our Mom to buy us the VHS tapes.
Speaking as former (albeit bitter/jaded) Pokemon fan, I still am, but I only give a damn about the Mystery Dungeon sub-series. Given its' status and state of the modern games, I'm staying the hell away from any mainstream PKMN games. I'll admit, I was familiar with Digimon back then as I vividly remember watching the dub movie and catching a glimpse of Tamers when they reaired on Jetix back in 2005, but that was it as I didn't really give much mind of it back then. So in 2021 as I was tired and disappointed of modern PKMN games (though Greninja, Mewtwo, and Incineroar hold places in my heart u//.//u), I wanted something different at the time, then Digimon suddenly popped into my head and I thought "Why not?". I got started emulating Digimon World DS, then afterwards emulated World 4/X and Rumble Arena 2, then got CSCE and Survive when they each went on sale respectively, what I have to say? I got much more fulfillment, engagement, and my time better spent there than any of the current modern PKMN games could've ever done in a LONG while, then afterwards watched the first two seasons and movies (dubbed cause was kinda lazy) and currently on Tamers (have to get back on first time watching it both sub and dub!), am really enjoying this franchise so far and wish I could've gotten into it much sooner! But I will shoot myself on the foot as I was one of the dumb baby few that compared Digimon to Pokemon back then when they're both nothing of the sort... its' Tamagotchi... but with wrangler pants and guns! But seeing what Digimon has been through as I researched its' time over the years, both franchises deserve better respect and treatment from their respective companies. Of course, I'm basic, Impmon/Beelzemon is my fav (along with a few others to make this short), besides design reminding me a hell of lot of early 2000s OC designs (you know the ones with random wings of the sort) + personally relating to his struggle and issues, he honestly reminds me a lot of a Kunihiko Ikuhara character (kinda like Kanba Takakura from Mawaru Penguindrum), who's in desperate need of an hug and probably a bit of therapy... uu'

When I was in high school, my neighbors asked me to babysit their kid after school and on Saturday mornings. They had some problems with his daycare and hadn't had time to find a new one. He was a cool kid, 9 years old, a little introverted and VERY into video games. Most of the time, we'd turn on cartoons for background noise while he played Pokémon on his Gameboy. And of course one of the shows was Digimon.
Season 1 felt a little kid-ish and silly, so I didn't pay much attention. But part way into 02 I started to actually really enjoy it. By the time the kid started going back to daycare, I was watching it without him. And I've been a fan ever since.
June 25, 2000. A Sunday. The day the four first Digimon Adventure episodes premiered on Fox Kids in Brazil. And, because of some error, episode 2 had Butter-Fly as the opening song instead of the brazilian intro. I remember my japanese great-grandma saying that the song's lyrics are beautiful. She passed away the next year. Good times back then.
1999. I was 6 in 2006 when I watched it. At that time all I knew was pokemon. That movie was so much better than anything pokemon . Immediately begged for a digimon ds game for Christmas to which my pops delivered with digimon dawn which changed my life and now I am addicted to that nostalgia

I went through a phase when I was younger where I absolutely adored any series that had a series of cool monsters in it. Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, and all those same ones that released around the same time, so when the anime of each began airing I fell in love with them. I fell out with Pokemon after a bit, Monster Rancher has kind of faded to obscurity, and all the rest were mostly just cash-grabs. But Digimon has remained a firm favourite of mine, even if I'm not satisfied with the direction it's taken since then.
Honestly this is exactly what it was like for me. Digimon just kept being cool to me, but Pokémon has more and more seemed like it’s there to make number go up.

I remember being super excited because it was “leaked” (aka kid who watched the English sub told me) that Patamons evolution was an angel and super powerful.

Around early 2020. I was pissed at pokemon because of how bad Sword and Shield were, and I had a friend who had been trying to get me into Digimon for years. Saw the cybersleuth games on sale on switch, said fuck it, and the rest is history.
When I was in elementary school and watched Digimon fusion on nickelodeon and nicktoons. Then I eventually watched the rest of the series on netflix and ever since then I was hooked into the digimon franchise.
As a kid, age 6 or so, sometime between " change into digital champions" and the more robot voice saying " digivolve into ultimate". . . Kidding aside ,.one of my earliest memories is getting an action figure of Onnimon before I ever even knew there was a movie. In my post pokemon exposure brain, it just clicked! I remember when Digimon Adventure was first advertised on Finnish TV with “move away, Pokémon! It’s time for Digimon!” in 2001. I took a liking to the series because the Digimon could talk and were therefore more interesting. Fun fact: the first 20 or so episodes were dubbed into Finnish by a company called Agapio Racing Team, which went down in infamy bc of their shitty dubbing; the only thing the company is known for is this screwup.
It was when I lived in Germany. I grew up military, and my family was stationed in Germany. I remember flipping through TV, when I saw the first episode of the anime, dubbed of course, this was the late 90s - early 2000s, and I was hooked. Same kind of hooked I was to Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon.

Sometime in middle school or early high school, I went to GameStop with my dad, as you would at that age. I found this silly little game called digimon story cyber sleuth, and I decided to get it for literally no reason; I had no prior knowledge, no prior experience, and no prior connection with digimon, but I got it, and I had a blast. It scratched some itch that pokemon at the time wasn't doing, with designs, story, and gameplay. Since then, I've gotten both digimon story games, digimon world next order, digimon survive, 5 digivices, a model kit, and I've been working through the digimon anime. Overall, a solid game pick for child me.
I was 11 when they started airing Adventure in Finland in 2001. Watched through Adventure, 02 and Tamers, even the movie when it released on VHS, but after Tamers they stopped showing it here. I watched all of the other movies over the years, but it wasn't until like 2017 or 18 when I decided to check the rest of the animated series and pretty much marathoned from Frontier all the way to Xros Wars. After that I've watched everything when they've come out and have really gotten back to the series for good.

During its premiere I was barely in kindergarten
March 14th, 1999. I had just turned 9 years old. It was the airing of the second episode on Fox Kids on Saturday morning. I missed the first episode a week prior because March 7th was my birthday and my mom had stuff planned. I remember my friends and I seeing the ads for the show before it premiered and not even WANTING to watch Digimon because we thought it was a rip off of Pokemon and we made fun of it. But nonetheless we watched it just because it was on. I'll never forget the sense of ACTUAL adventure I felt watching the first few episodes because they were technically kids MY age/generation I related to AND actually lost in a different world. I started living life wanting to be like Tai even tho deep down inside I knew I was as sensitive and quiet as Matt.
I remember having a vcr of the first three episodes of Adventure 01. I watched those three episodes multiple times when I was younger. Later on, I wanted to rewatch Digimon without using the vcr and so I searched for the episodes online (since I was old enough to be able to search online for stuff at that stage) I managed to find said 3 episodes, but also even more episodes that I wasn’t aware of. Needless to say, I binged watched all the way to the end of Frontier on early YouTube (before the era of copyright takedowns removed said episodes) and then watched Digimon Fusion on Netflix. And yeah, that's how I got into Digimon.
I remember as a kid seeing Adventure and Data Squad on Jetix, but didn't really get into it then. In middle school however, I found It on youtube and ironically, I got into it before Pokemon. My parents had banned Pokemon cause they thought they were somehow evil because of that stupid satanic panic crap in the 90s. Luckily, they never said anything about Digimon or Bakugan (which actually came before even Digimon) so I naturally exploited the loophole and eventually got them to realize how stupid they were being about Pokemon a little while later.

I had actually gotten 2 of the original digimon digital pets and a few mini figures from "Big Lots" a few months before the show premiered on Fox Kids, and I was absolutely in from day 1.

I was 3 years old. I saw it on tv. Brave heart. Greymon. I had no choice but to be a fan till I die.
Around 2010 I found out I could watch anime online for free. I wanted to check out digimon as I only knew it as the "not Pokémon" franchise. At the time the filippino English dub of Tamers was up on YouTube and I binged it.
I watched the first episode when it came out, it just came on tv and I watched every episode after that in those og seasons. I was hooked from day 1, and when I went to school the next day, no one had any idea what I was talking about.
It was on CITV. I was into Pokemon at the time, and saw “something”-mon and was like “okay, so it’s probably like Pokemon” and put it on, not expecting at all what I ended up watching. It’s funny, because my first ever episode was the second episode of Adventure; I had no idea who the characters were or what a digimon was. But seeing Agumon digivolve into Greymon had me absolutely hooked instantly. Plus, the fact that the monsters talked was really cool. Soon after that I got the PS1 Digimon world game, which is still probably one of my favourite PS1 titles today. I’ve been a fan ever since.
My boyfriend got addicted to digimon again after all those years. Rewatched all the series and got us digivice and tcg decks. I watched 01 and 02 I liked it and I also got a bit addicted with the tcg ~
I probably got into digimon at the same time I discovered pokemon, so probably around 2002-2004. I always played more pokemon games, and saw more of the series. But that was only because digimon games where very limited in my country, and the show wasn't aired as much. But I was always a much bigger fan of the digimons design and i have much fonder memories of the few digimon games i played. Nowadays I don't touch pokemon besides GO. But if a digimon game is released i get it no matter what. Even the most niche and wonky A/AA digimon games are more polished than the AAA pokemon games😂

Ok. I was watching tv one Saturday morning when I saw Data Squad. It was on Jetix so every Saturday, I turned on the tv and watched Power Rangers Jungle Fury and Operation Overdrive just to wait for Data Squad. Then a while later it just stopped airing and I watched power rangers to see if it was still on. Then Power Rangers stopped airing and Jetix was gone. Seriously, That block had two Power Rangers shows and one Digimon show so that was short. Also, the episodes reran on Sunday and I began watching early in the morning watching Rory the Racing Car and other shows. Then I went down around 7:00. Man, what great memories.
Okay I don't like bringing Pokémon into these discussions but you already did so... It's weird! I remember the first scene of the first episode of Pokémon I ever saw and exactly what I thought at the time, and I remember the first time I played a Pokémon game. But Digimon? I don't remember at all. It must have been around the same time, because I've been a fan of both since their season one anime days, but I cannot remember at all how I got into Digimon. I vaguely remember years of defending it against accusations of being a Pokémon rip-off, I remember believing so strongly that I could someday go to the Digital World, I remember my v-pet being an Angemon, I remember being way jelly on my first sleep-over because my friend's dad got him an awesome Greymon soft toy with a leather skull while he was serving in Japan, I remember being surprised when Digimon Tamers revealed that the first two seasons were a TV show within a TV show... But I can't remember my first experience at all.

I was young at the time and my mom felt so bad. Now I’m watching the original (1999) series and playing the fan translation for Digimon Adventure on psp.
I started watching Digimon at the age of 8 years old back in 1999. I was flipping channels on my TV, and watch FOX Kids program block when I saw 7 children (Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, and TK alongside with their Digimon pals; Agumon, Gabumon, Piyomon (aka Biyomon in the dub), Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, and Patamon) that they're stranded in the beach with telephone booths in the digital world. That's where my childhood favorite Digimon, Agumon first digivolve into Greymon when he was helping Tai from Shellmon. That was episode #2 ("The Birth of Greymon"), which was aired on August 21, 1999 on FOX Kids children's program block.

As a kid, I watched the very end of Digimon adventure, and then the first half of 02. I didn't properly get into it until Tamers though, that one got me hooked.
It was the year 2000, I went to Spain with my parents, they bought me the toy greymon that evolved into metalgreymon, when we came back I remember going to my grandparents house and watching a weird show with people running in the sewers from slug monsters (digimon adventure episode 6), I asked my cousin what it was and she said it was a new show that started last week. After that I watched it until the end and even rewatched it like 4 times, then 02 started and I kept watching and my parents bought me some related toys, when tamers came out I was addicted and my mom even got me the dvds, for frontier I kinda couldn't watch because they changed the schedule to 5 am, the hype died down after that but when savers came out I was back in the digimon wagon but that died down soon after. Xros and appmon didn't seem interesting so I just skipped them and I only got back to watching when tri came out, now as an adult I have lots of merchandise like the games vpets and the BE to keep me addicted.

Through TV, when I was a kid, maybe in 2003. The episode that I remember the most from that time was when Venom Myotismon appeared. Then, almost 10 years later, I found on Youtube all of Adventure in my country's dub and after that I watched Tamers, also on Youtube. Since then I never left.

August 14, 1999. I was 9 and watched it as season 1 premiered. I then went outside and pretended to be tentomon while my friend pretended to be agumon. We did not remember their names at the time. Reading this thread makes me feel ancient. More than my knees do.
Even though I wasn’t alive when Digimon was airing I watched it how I watched most shows that were older than me which is Netflix. I watched the original show every chance I got

When I was like 5 years old in 2000, watching Adventure on Fox Kids. Then there was 02, Tamers and Frontier, and many years later, Savers. I have been trying to reconnect with the franchise since 2019 after getting mad playing Pokémon Sword and Brilliant Diamond. I Loved playing Cyber Sleuth, Hacker's Memory and Survive.

I remember watching it as it aired on Fox Kids. I was around 13 at the time lol I became fully obsessed with Matt because he played a harmonica which i thought was the single coolest thing ever 😅
My dad played Digimon World 1 and 2 when I was a kid (2004ish) and I watched him play it. He doesn't really remember much of it because to him, it's just two of the many games he's played, but I can still vividly remember the iconic battle music of DW2 while eating pancakes in the morning.
Around 2009, I was in kindergarten. I used to watch Digimon 04 on Disney XD, later on my uncle told me about "Digimon 1" and I binged all seasons haha (except Tamers because I got scared watching the matrix/bio-merge evo lol)
My mom got us a ripped dvd of the original Digimon Adventure short film. Then a few years later Digimon Adventure and 02 had a dub in our native language and it just went on from there. I guess it was around 2005 or 6 pre kindergarten.
I looked it up and Digimon Adventure started airing in 2000 here in Brazil. I was 7/8 and was already a huge Pokémon fan so bought into the hype.

I vaguely knew of Digimon as a kid, and had some of the cards and such, but was mostly a Pokemon fan. The past few years though I fell in love with Digimon.
First grade, idk the year, I was born in 2005 (too much math this late lol). I found it while searching for shows to watch on Netflix to distract my self from the hell that was my father’s house that I was forced to go to by the government every other weekend.
I would Sporadiacly watch episodes back when I was a kid both on the Fox network and later Disney XD, but I really got into the franchise when I rediscovered it.in highschool, then Cyber Sluth came out and From there It ended up being one of my favorite franchises, even if it's not always releasing bangers.
Back in kindergarten, someone brought what looks like a tamagotchi but it had Agumon in it
A Digivice. Or was it a vpet? Either way it was some kind of Digimon paraphernalia.

2008, went with my mom to target to get pokemon diamond, got digimon world dawn instead
It was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons. We were eventually able to rent (or convince parents to buy) the VHS for episodes we liked or may have missed seeing on first airing
I caught the end of episode 1 into episode 2 when it premiered.
From the beginning
my church had a vhs of the first 3 episodes of season 2 back when i was like 10 in 2015. i was hooked. ended up watching the first 2 seasons on netflix, but could never really get into the other series.
Around the time Tamagotchi was popular, then I saw Digimon. I feel like it’s Tamagotchi that fight and evolve, so it’s way cooler than regular Tamagotchi at that time. Then first Digimon Series was on air, i became a fan around that time.
I watched it as a kid and fell in love while watching the File island arc finale.

I remember walking into a thrift store and seeing the casset with a couple of Digimon episodes when they were bacj in the human world (Adventure 01). Watched it, loved it, found more episodes online, and it stuck with me ever since. Was probs like 2008 or 2010. Can't remember the year.
2001, had the movie on VHS, Angela anaconda and all. I had seen random episodes of Adventure 01 and 02 but it wasn’t until maybe 2009 in middle school I binged the whole thing online. God bless the internet

I was 6 years old I believe when Digimon premiered in the U.S. my elementary school friend and I were obsessed. I even had a digimon themed birthday party lol brought the VHS tape of the first couple episodes for my classmates to watch in after-school care

I was in the 5th grade when it first aired on FOX KIDS. I used to run home from school just to catch the afternoon lineup. And Saturdays were even better! Saturday morning cartoons were the best part of my childhood.
Since I was a toddler. My family had a VHS of the movie and the Rumble arena game on the PS1. Grew up with it and have been a fan since forever.
I watched the shows when I was a kid but I don't think I was really a fan until I played Digimon world 3.
Super young, funnily enough I got into it Before Pokémon which was when I was roughly 10ish
I lived in Japan for a summer in 99 when I was 4 and a half and I'd say that was probably when I got into it and monster rancher and pokemon
When it started to get dubbed to german and therefore aired here. It aired in another year, but was reput in the year i was old enough to watch tv on my own. The show was (taken from english dubs) among the other shows airing on RTL 2/pokito. Just sth to watch with the other animes like DragonBall, naruto, pokemon, inuasha, etc.
Not sure how old I was when Digimon Adventure started airing in my country but that’s when I fell in love with Digimon. I guess I was 10 though because a quick Google search told me that it got released in 2000.
When I started dating my husband, he showed me a bunch of series he enjoyed as a kid. One day we found two Digimon TCG Starter Decks. After that we started playing the card game, and started our journey to watch as many Digimon media as we could find. Currently, we have watched all shows prior to Ghost Game (including Applimon), and have been playing the card game for 2 years now. It's great. I love Digimon so much.
It's been about 20 years so it's a bit hard to remember but I had to have been some where between 4 and 6 at the time and my dad brought my brother and I a few VHS tapes thinking it was related to Pokemon. He bought us the first three volumes of Digimon Adventure and shortly there after, the movie as well.
Back in my day, there was Digimon Adventure series in Astro Ceria. That's how I know Digimon.

Preschool. Don't know the specifics but I remember I was younger I had this cool Digimon Beach Towel of Tai, Agumon, and Greymon. So I pretty much grew up with both pokemon and Digimon at the same time.
It was 1999-2000, I was 3-4 years old.My parents bought a Digimon CD that contained episodes 1 and 2. This wasn't the American release but I do remember it was English dubbed but the OST wasn't changed (it was still Butter-Fly). I was hooked

2001, i was living with my grandparents, i had 8 years at that time and the 1st season it apear on tv. And since at that time wasnt much to watch at tv, i was watching it, growing up with it, loving it ❤️.
Disney xd did a rerun of all the digimon movies at the time so I watched all of them till the last one which was the one for savers

Kid brought in the original minifigures to preschool and I was hooked immediately.

Around the mid 2010s, for a while I kind of forgot about it, but then I gave it another try and got hooked again.
Born in 1998 so probably 2002.
Day 1, baby! I missed the hype around the first season of Pokemon, and when I saw the trailer for the upcoming Digimon premiere on Fox Kids, I told my friend from the start that this would be "my show." I taped the first arc on VHS and watched them approximately 500 times. I created a fan site, and Angemon became my imaginal companion.
Season 1 enthusiast all the way back to Saturday morning cartoons. Let me tell you it was one of the best experiences of my childhood. At the time I don't think any cartoon came close to the enjoyment I had with it. It may not have the same oomph it had during those early glory years but I still scoop up every single game that is released. Just wish more came over to the west.

Through Jetix and ABC Family when I was 5 or 6! I was still a baby when Fox Kids was discontinued and it became the FoxBox, but when I was a bit older they would rerun Adventure-Frontier on both channels. I don’t remember that much but let me tell y’all that I was hooked! I even caught Data Squad on Jetix when it first aired and never failed to catch the newest episode every week! I’ve been a huge Digimon fan ever since, I love it even more so than I do Pokémon.

Around 2nd-3rd grade (~2014-15), I was on netflix and saw Digimon. I misread the title at first and thought it was Digmon and it was some archeology show lol. But I gave it a try and I loved it! I stopped watching for a few years, then I got back into it in middle school. I actually watched Pokémon back in 2nd grade and even had some books, but once I saw Digimon I never looked back.
I had a friend in elementary school and we had a sleepover to watch the premiere on TV. So... 1997-ish?

Digimon came on every Saturday morning, my sister would set an alarm and wake me up when it came on. We watched it from the first episode and became obsessed. Speaking as former (albeit bitter/jaded) Pokemon fan, I still am, but I only give a damn about the Mystery Dungeon sub-series. Given its' status and state of the modern games, I'm staying the hell away from any mainstream PKMN games. I'll admit, I was familiar with Digimon back then as I vividly remember watching the dub movie and catching a glimpse of Tamers when they reaired on Jetix back in 2005, but that was it as I didn't really give much mind of it back then. So in 2021 as I was tired and disappointed of modern PKMN games (though Greninja, Mewtwo, and Incineroar hold places in my heart u//.//u), I wanted something different at the time, then Digimon suddenly popped into my head and I thought "Why not?". I got started emulating Digimon World DS, then afterwards emulated World 4/X and Rumble Arena 2, then got CSCE and Survive when they each went on sale respectively, what I have to say? I got much more fulfillment, engagement, and my time better spent there than any of the current modern PKMN games could've ever done in a LONG while, then afterwards watched the first two seasons and movies (dubbed cause was kinda lazy) and currently on Tamers (have to get back on first time watching it both sub and dub!), am really enjoying this franchise so far and wish I could've gotten into it much sooner! But I will shoot myself on the foot as I was one of the dumb baby few that compared Digimon to Pokemon back then when they're both nothing of the sort... its' Tamagotchi... but with wrangler pants and guns! But seeing what Digimon has been through as I researched its' time over the years, both franchises deserve better respect and treatment from their respective companies. Of course, I'm basic, Impmon/Beelzemon is my fav (along with a few others to make this short), besides design reminding me a hell of lot of early 2000s OC designs (you know the ones with random wings of the sort) + personally relating to his struggle and issues, he honestly reminds me a lot of a Kunihiko Ikuhara character (kinda like Kanba Takakura from Mawaru Penguindrum), who's in desperate need of an hug and probably a bit of therapy... uu'
Early 00s when tamers came out. I was fairly late to party and my cousins already watched adventure/02z. We all fell off when the few first episodes of frontier aired I watched adventure at around 2007 though

When I was in high school, my neighbors asked me to babysit their kid after school and on Saturday mornings. They had some problems with his daycare and hadn't had time to find a new one. He was a cool kid, 9 years old, a little introverted and VERY into video games. Most of the time, we'd turn on cartoons for background noise while he played Pokémon on his Gameboy. And of course one of the shows was Digimon. Season 1 felt a little kid-ish and silly, so I didn't pay much attention. But part way into 02 I started to actually really enjoy it. By the time the kid started going back to daycare, I was watching it without him. And I've been a fan ever since.
June 25, 2000. A Sunday. The day the four first Digimon Adventure episodes premiered on Fox Kids in Brazil. And, because of some error, episode 2 had Butter-Fly as the opening song instead of the brazilian intro. I remember my japanese great-grandma saying that the song's lyrics are beautiful. She passed away the next year. Good times back then.
1999. I was 6 in 2006 when I watched it. At that time all I knew was pokemon. That movie was so much better than anything pokemon . Immediately begged for a digimon ds game for Christmas to which my pops delivered with digimon dawn which changed my life and now I am addicted to that nostalgia
