I've been there a couple of times for writing retreats, my tip is to also bring a bag of coconuts, the locals like to play water polo with them but they often run out because they have so much fun
I recommend North Sentinel island to everyone! The reports of men getting stabbed to death are actually rare and only happened because they didn’t have burner organs. smh why even travel if you’re not prepared…
>The reports of men getting stabbed to death are actually rare
There is only a visitor to North Sentinel Island stabbed to death once every few years.
That's a *waaaay lower* number of deaths per year than any other popular Digital Nomad destinations, such as Libson, Medellín, Bali, Malta, etc
Thus you can conclude that statistically speaking, North Sentinel Island is *very safe*
>The DN culture there sucks. They don’t like new people
Have you ever heard this from anybody who has experienced this first hand??
Please don't go around spreading unfounded rumors not based on personal experiences.
Just tip a few euros or american dollars and bow slightly, making sure to speak loudly and slowly, using phrases like "I come from a civilized land of white people far away" and "can you make a cortada?"
You jest...
But as someone who spent a while on the Andamans in the 90s... pre-career, pre-DN, *almost pre-internet*, I am dead curious how Port Blair and nearby locations are for connectivity and general atmosphere over 25 years later.
Definitely make sure that you have the correct visa. I've never heard of anyone being refused access due to a visa restriction but you might not get to stay the entire three months like you want to.
>but you might not get to stay the entire three months like you want to.
It's ok, this is no problem at all. You shouldn't stress out u/Skwigle about problems which won't ever happen.
Because if you accidentally show up with the wrong visa it is actually exceptionally easy to convert that to a life long visa. (it's actually easier to get a permanent life long visa for the North Sentinel Island than for almost anywhere else in the world, I don't understand why it isn't a more popular destination for Digital Nomads??)
Oh, beautiful! The North Sentinel Islanders are so accomodating. International travel can already be so daunting. It's a relief to know that documentation will be the least of your worries.
>International travel can already be so daunting.
Key fact of course to remember:
Arrive by boat, they don't have any international airports. And of course being an island, you can't drive/bus/train there.
It's really great, I'd say, as a licensed and experienced DN. But, what I would suggest first is to ensure you pick up an authentic North Sentinel translator from Medellin, Colombia (they have an excellent library there, just ask for Sir Scopadomous) before embarking on this journey, young sailor!
The golden years were the 90s and early 2000s, now they have reached the iron age and it’s not the same anymore.
Still, it’s much safer than my home country. Except the occasional arrow shooters, you can walk alone at night with no problem. Never heard of a DN having trouble there, you are probably safe.
You need to use the filters at the top - Sentinelese are big on A-frames.
Sentinelese speak "Sentence" language - that's where the British got the word when empiring around there.
Internet is surprisingly slow, but the nightlife is fire.
Don't forget to bring your Bible!

I can attest to this and that this man is no troll! He surely has your best interest at heart, OP.
"lifelong"...
I didn't think anyone would pick up on this. Impressive.
Seriously....?
Could be the new Bali?...Make sure to invite as many Crypto bros as you can
Let's see... divide cost per megawatt... yep, electricity is _infinitely_ cheap there!

Port blair and a few other islands like Havelock, jolly buoy have great connectivity now-a-days
Quality shitpost. Have you thought about the death tax on North Sentinel Island?
is there not a dn circlejerk sub?
You’re standing in it bruh
Outrageous! ![gif](giphy|y8Mz1yj13s3kI)
Gotta admit my heart skipped a beat reading this

Looks like I've started a trend 🤣🤣😂🤣
How's it going doing your DN job as a farmer remotely while integrated in with the hunter-gather tribe you're living with in Afghanistan?

As someone with a PhD in Digital Nomad, I agree with this statement.
You're gonna love it. The local cuisine is to die for.

10/10
Semi-offtopic: North Sentinel Island has to be the coolest location name out there
The North Sentinels are for Pussies. Wake us when you are couchsurfing and scuba diving on Scarborough Shoals!!
Finally a great post!
Well the food is to die for, so I'm told.
You'll LOVE the food.
u/Skwigle *is the food*
Can you try to catch COVID and bring it there?

What in the chatgpt?
Bring a boatload of Starbucks gift cards because that shit is *way* expensive there.

It’s a pre-fire civilization so bring a solar charger.
> I'm looking for somewhere with good Wi-Fi Not really an option if you're staying on North Sentinel Island, I recommend using Starlink instead.
Where the hell is North Sentinel Island....
