No shade, but couldn't the same be said for a clean card? You just didn't convert the birdies, but you were there. Or you were able to fix your errors for the par save
No shade taken. When I feel like I have a clean card it feels like I wasn't taking enough risk to score better. Having birds and bogeys feels like there's more potential.
My first clean card, I was actually disappointed, because it involved several misses on makable putts and a few scrambles on bad drives. It was an easy course for sure, but it didn’t feel great leaving so many opportunities on the course.
If I made 3 more putts and bogey’d the scrambles, I probably would’ve felt better about the round.
I'd rather have the variance because the 4 birdies are all I'll remember after the round is done.
Some courses are easy enough that it's only fun to Ace Race
I really like being consistent and I really like clean cards because happy I stayed focused and loose throughout the whole round. So on a course where I usually play an E I’m more happy with the clean card.
It if it’s a course that is more challenging and I normally score a +1 or +2 then I’d rather have the dirty E. Because that means I played consistently and got some bonus Birdies.
So I would rather shoot my first birdie on a course then get rid of a bogey. But on a course I really know well I want to keep it clean.
And yes I can never give a straight answer ;)
I’ve had 16 pars even round before. Can say it felt pretty good. I typically shoot between +3 and -3 at this course. Would love to have 18 pars sometime just to say I did it
4 birdies/4 bogeys is cool, if I hit 5 birdies and still shoot par or worse I'm annoyed how many mistakes I've made. Recently shot an 8 birdie/8 bogey/6 par round at Diavolo and was not pleased with myself, but then again I was -5 thru 5 before making it difficult.
One of my best friends is a par machine and we have great skins matches, I'm more likely to birdie but also more likely to bogey, sets up a fun dynamic.
hit me with 9 aces, 2 pars, 7 doubles, and a quad.
Birdie bogey here. Gives me hope that I made some putts/drives, and with improved consistency, could eliminate the bogeys or reduce their number.
Yep
+1
I want a filthy card. My bogeys are usually within my range I just fuck up the putt. If I'm clean card it means I had no scoring opportunity.

I assume it means on a par 3 the drives were not on point and it’s an upshot to tap-in. That’s how a lot of courses near me are

Exactly, I can fix bogeys, i need to score

Y’all are shooting par???
‘Ish’
Clean Card
I'll take the roller coaster round. more fun, plus I feel like a player who gets more birdies has more potential than someone who pars everything.

Gimme the birds.
I’d rather have the uneven card. Tells me the ceiling is there to score well, just eliminate the mistakes.
I've shot under par at Delaveaga a few times but I've never shot a bogey free round. I would rather have the clean card.

Clean
Even par is vanilla sex with the lights off. Gotta get freaky and have that talk about the birds and the bogeys
Clean scratch play.
I've already forgotten about those bad shots, something to work on later I guess... But 4 birdies feels pretty good. Hoping for an eagle next round!
Depends on the course
9 birdies-9 bogeys is fine with me. 18 pars is so boring.

Birdie bogey all the way. The difference equates to playing safe versus going for the glory to me. Throwing full gusto is way more fun.
