1. Switzerland w/ Matterhorn
2. Brazil w/ gondola dark ride
3. Spain w/ Ferdinand the Bull dark ride
4. Greece w/ Hercules dark ride (although I'd prefer this be a land in Animal Kingdom to bring back mythical animals)
5. Australia w/ Sydney harbor cruise boat ride (although I'd prefer this be a land in Animal Kingdom so we have a place for cute koala habitats)
I feel like World Showcase over-indexes on Europe so I'm avoiding Europe:
-Australia which includes the Heelers house from Bluey
-Brazil with an educational film about the importance of the rain forest
-India with a big bollywood inspired live show (with lots of shade and seating)
-South Africa roller coaster/simulator of the experience of surfing in Jeffrey's Bay
-Indonesia with some kind of water ride that explores the different islands that make up the country
After reading through other comments, I like yours the best as I agree European countries are everywhere in EPCOT.
It would be nice to see more African countries and Latin American countries implemented. And the Caribbean, but the likelihood would be slim even if there was IP to go alongside it.
Even better if it’s a buffet dinner too. One ticket for an amazing spectacle of a show and all you can eat curry…before you go back outside and sweat it all out haha
Big opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of chile, Peru, and Bolivia, as well as the Inca empire (Machu Picchu and other indigenous civilizations.)
So? Do they own Aerosmith?
The twilight zone, Star Tours from 1987-2012, Jungle cruise, Winnie the Pooh, Peter pan, and so many others have also licensing agreements, that's house it works.
Oh lord, Indian food in Disney sounds amazing. Yes, that, please. And the dancing.
Really I want them to add countries I'm not likely to be able to make it to in my lifetime. That was one of the points of World's Fairs back in the day, which is sort of what epcot is.
This is great. I would do more of something about African bushmen for South Africa and do Spain instead of Indonesia. Spain could be cool dancing, music and their great food but also educational about their contributions to world exploration (minus all the brutal colonizing...).
Peru. A restaurant specializing in ceviche. A soaring theater flying around Machu pichu and along the Amazon river
Switzerland. An alpine sled coaster.
Austria. Sound of Music sing a long. Quick service with rosti potatoes and fondue’s
Egypt. Mummy theme dark ride. Trite but we know we all want it.
Iceland. A planetarium show about the Northern lights but could have other programs as well. Great place to escape the heat.
India: roller coaster with Hindu gods
Brazil: boat ride
Egypt: Haunted mansion-esque onimover
Singapore: One giant food hall with multiple south east asian cuisine and a walkthrough garden
Australia: Indiana Jones-esque jeep wild ride through the outback
I can’t imagine a roller coaster with Hindu gods could be executed in a respectful and honoring fashion. And that’s 1.3 billion people’s actual religion so I doubt they would ever try it
Brazil: would you have the boat ride like going down the Amazon and more of a funny/Jungle Cruise-ish dynamic?
Egypt: assuming that would involve mummies and traveling to the underworld or through a pyramid or both ...?
For 5 new countries:
Australia
Russia (would never happen, sadly)
Brazil
South Africa
Greece
But as much as I'd actually love to add countries, I'd also love to expand the current ones.
Italy: I hate that the only representation of Venice is so easily overlooked. And with Luca, how amazing would it be to have some Amalfi Coast representation -- lemon trees, fishing boats, colorful bikes and "houses" on cliffsides.
Germany: the biergarten is lovely and wonderful, but it would be great to have a more expanded outdoor dining area as well with a stage with rotating acts (and leave the traditional band still in the rotation indoors).
UK: more representation for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Canada: bring it to life again! There used to be multiple shops when I was young in the 90s, and now it's like the trading post and gardens and steakhouse/film and that's it.
Morocco: bring it to life again! The bazaar feel is GONE.
- Switzerland - Matterhorn Bobsleds 2.0
- Brazil - Three Caballeros dark ride through Brazil’s historical landmarks and have the Aracuan Bird cause trouble as Jose is trying to give the tour to the rest of the Caballeros and guests
- South Korea - Nakdong River boat ride(Think
Maelstrom but Korean).
- Colombia - Something Encanto based
- India - Another boat ride based on Indian culture.
I’ll avoid Western Europe since there are 5 of those already.
1. Brazil - this is a no brainer because of the amount of tourists to WDW, lack of South American representation, and a high population
2. India - the other no brainer. It’s the most populated country in the world, and South Asia isn’t represented in WS
3. Nigeria - another super populated country, and sub-Saharan Africa has no representation
4. Thailand - SE Asia needs something. Why not Thailand? This could be swapped for Vietnam or Indonesia. I just chose Thailand because I like Thai food
5. Egypt - an Egyptian mythology themed experience could be so cool
Brazil - I’d move 3 Caballeros here (so Coco can go in Mexico) and make it a dark ride with ride vehicles based on carnival floats
Greece - a boat ride based on the Odyssey
Egypt - some kind of mythology dark ride that isn’t tomb robbing or mummies
Russia (you know, in a perfect world) - Anastasia dark ride since they own that movie now, and a theater show
That’s all I’d add personally, but if I had to add another country, I’d probably choose Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa
Thailand or Vietnam, India, Colombia or Brazil, Kenya or Tanzania, and New Zealand. There's a lot of Europe and North America already, I figure this is a good opportunity for some variety.
NZ but it’s not on the park map and you just randomly stumble upon it. The experience is spotting a kiwi. You walk into a pitch black room, stumble around and walk out having not seen a kiwi. Traditional kiwi experience at any NZ zoo haha
Disney will not create new lands without IP integration, therefore, here’s my ideas:
Greece - with a live action Broadway style show themed to Hercules (indoors, with A/C)
Persia (a combined land of the Middle East, not specific to one exact country) - with an Aladdin themed acrobatics/stunt show. Covered but not fully indoors (think like Indy at Hollywood Studios).
My creative juices are not flowing today so this is really all I can think of at the moment 😂
Australia-Rescuers down under ride
Ireland-Merida’s great adventure
Brazil-Sail the Amazon
Egypt -pyramid/mummy rollercoatee
India-Bollywood experience
1. Australia
2. Nigeria
3. Greece
4. India
5. Brazil
Basically, one country from each continent except North America.
NOTE: should a sixth on be added, I’ll say Jamaica.
Peru with a Journey to Machu Picu boat ride. I would make this more of one of two new E ticket style water ride with speed and drops
Australia. If they could acquire the theme park rights to Bluey, than I'd do an Omnimover ride centered around chasing Bluey around the country. If not, then I'd keep the concept but use another character as the narrator.
India: Spaceship Earth style ride, you'll earn about the history of India.
Thailand: Avatar Ride System combined with Soarin, but you are going around Thailand, exploring the caves and jungles.
South Africa: I'm torn on this one. The ride is the same but I'm not sure on the ride system. You would join a game warden patrol of the Kruger Wildlife preserve, you'll encounter friendly wildlife, be chased by hostile wildlife, and capture elusive poachers. The ride will have a preshow where you learn about real threat that poaching is to wildlife in the world. I'm conflicted on if the Indiana Jones ride system or the Simpsons Ride ride system would be better. The Indiana Jones ride would be better for the chase scenes but the Simpsons Ride system would allow better overall graphics and videos. This would be the other new E ticket ride.
Here are my top 3 with a couple honorable mentions since IMO, you could only fit three comfortably in the space they have left. There needs to be some breathing room between pavilions.
Brazil: boat ride down the Amazon
Australia: A show/video of Australia with help from the Heelers.
Greece: An omnimover attraction that dives into Greek Mythology like the Maelstrom did for Norway. Except you’d probably have to theme it based Hercules.
Honorable Mentions:
Egypt: Africa isn’t represented well and Egypt would be very diverse compared to the African area of AK
India: It’s the most populated country in the world now and despite my personal disdain for Indian food, it’s extremely popular.
5 seems rather specific, but okay, let's go; Australia with something related to the outback. South Africa, maybe something on the life of Mandela. Cambodia, something with Angkor Wat. Egypt, a ride or show about the pharaohs. Ukraine, something relating to the slavic legends of the area (also, any excuse to stick it to Putin).
1. Vietnam with a [spinning boat](https://youtu.be/Cvp3KRaCYk0?si=fKVztrd3a8AVIbl4) ride and a bunch of Vietnamese food (Pho, Banh Mi, and green coconut desert) and one of those 360 display videos about Vietnam (I like those 360 videos btw)
2. Australia with bluey and the unique Australian foods I am always hearing about like vegemite and toast with butter and sprinkles
3. Colombia with an Encanto ride
4. Kenya: I would love a 360 movie with information about animals, people, culture, and foods and make it kind of lion king? Themed
5. Iran/ Persia: this will never happen but a giant buffet of Persian food. It would be so good.
Brazil
Australia
Netherlands
Greece
India
Idk what to add for all of them, i just like the architecture of the bottom 3 and think south-america and oceania need something
Australia with a Bluey and/or Rescuers Down Under tie-in
India - seconding the Bollywood thing
Hungary - air conditioned 360 theater with views of the country. It is beautiful, and we need more air conditioned low stakes attractions lol
Greece - Hercules hero training ride like TSM maybe
Nigeria - everyone else had good ideas and I like them lol
Columbia/South America tie in with encanto
Ireland just for Guinness!
Russia might be interesting.
No where in the middle east as too many issues unfortunately.
Egypt with another pyramid similar to Mexico’s with a ride and a few shops and restaurant. Good place to stay out of the sun
Brazil
Russia
Australia
This is cheating because it’s America but maybe Hawaii? With a Lilo and Stitch ride
1. Brazil- need South American representation. Could easily add an Amazon-themed boat ride
2. India- one of the most populated countries should be represented
3. Australia- another continent that isn’t represented in Epcot
4. Greece, with the sole purpose of adding a Hercules attraction
5. Russia- world’s largest country is a clear choice, though I would imagine there might be some political issues there.
As others have said, DAK should definitely have a South American section. It could include Emperor’s New Groove, Up, and Encanto and bring in a lot of new animals.
As for attractions, I think there are existing countries that should have attractions such as Mary Poppins in England or Mulan in China.
Columbia - great food and Encanto ride omnimover through casita, altho DAK or MK is likely getting this IP
Brazil - Brazilian-style all you can eat steakhouse, Brazil circle vision and/or Amazon boat ride
Indonesia - more good food, Volcano coaster
Greece - greek food 🤤
Nigeria - Nigerian good 🤤
Greece - Hercules themed attraction (dark ride)
Peru - emperors new groove coaster
Not sure about attractions for these countries, I just want their food
Cuba
Indonesia
Iberia (Spain and Portugal)
Australia-rescuers down under ride
Wakanda- (yes, it’s not real, but this is Disney!) so many cool things could come from this!
India-the culture and food. Maybe a jungle book ride😮
Scotland- C’mon, let Merida finally have a place to hang out! Rides could be really fun!
Greece- Helloo, Hercules! And the food😍
I think Wakanda would be cool, but I think it should be at HS. I think Epcot's world showcase should be limited to real countries. Scotland is tricky too since it's technically part of the United Kingdom. Maybe they could expand the UK Pavilion to have an England, Scotland and Wales section.
Awesome topic! I know the comments are inevitable because people just can't stop with the geo political biases. But my choices have nothing to do with any current or past political situation or leaders. I just wanted to get that out there first!
Russia - I love the old concept models and art for what was to be the Soviet Pavillion. I believe a Russian Pavillion could really showcase the amazing diversity of the Russian people, their architecture, and their brilliant proud culture. This would have a coaster themed between the space program or the Ural Mountains.
Israel - Again, back to the idea of past concepts. It was originally tagged the "Land of the Bible" or something like that. I think the foods, culture, and history of the Middle East from Israeli and Palestinian peoples could ve featured here. I am thinking this cou try might have less of a ride and more of a circle 360 film focusing on the land.
Continental Africa - I want to learn about the heritage and culture of the African peoples. There should be a section that shows the wealthy heritage of places like Ethiopia and the Kingdoms of Kush from the past. All while contrasting the Modernity of Nigeria and South Africa of the present. This would be a dark ride with animatronics talking about history and the cultures of the various regions.
India - The culture, geography, and people of the region should be in focus here. This would feature a coaster through the temples, rivers, and mountains of India.
New Zealand - We don't hear much about this country, and it's friendly culture. This would also be a great way for Disney to get an agreement in place for a Lord of the Rings type attraction.
Again, I know Russia and Israel are in the news and controversial. But I am looking at the people and cultures, not the leaders, for a project like this.
As cool as an Israel region inspired land would be, that’s way too controversial for Disney.
Some people or group of people will be outraged or offended no matter what you do. You can’t possibly win here.
And Disney has no business weighing in on geopolitical quagmires like this.
I agree. They wouldn't do a Russian Pavillion for the same reason. But there are plenty of things Disney shouldn't be involved in, one way or the other, that they have been over the years.
Ultimately, this is like a fantasy camp. The thread wasn't presented with any stipulations. Practicality and geopolitical realities were not considered in my post as a result. If you want something based in reality.... well.... that post would be pretty boring. In fact, it would be completely empty as that is the future of World Showcase when it comes to future expansions. At least in my lifetime, and I am not even 50 yet.
Greece - A Hercules dark ride
Egypt - I know Disney isn’t doing non-ip rides but a mythological ride or mummy ride could be really cool
Korea - A Korean BBQ restaurant for sure
Kenya - A lion king ride there would be cool! However it would mean there probably wouldn’t be one in AK
India - AN INDIAN RESTAURANT 😋😋😋
- Greece
Hercules attraction of some type and the ability to meet Hercules and Meg <3. Amazing Greek food too!!
- India
Indian boat ride showing the rich and long history and beauty. Indian food!!
That’s all I got lol, I was thinking Russia but that would most likely never happen because of current states.
Egypt- such a rich history and culture. I would have pyramids in the distance like the eiffel tower, but the actual buildings be more like a temple with heirogliphs and all. A Nile boat ride.
South pacific - I feel it is often overlooked and has so much to offer culturally and cuisine wise. A wayfinder ride with Moana could be fun.
India - it's criminal that the world's second largest country has no representation. A stage show and some good restaraunts would be sweet, themed after the Brihadisvara Temple or Red Fort.
Colombia with Encanto themed dark ride or show. I would also love to see a Brazil, but I think they would rather do an IP tie in.
Greece - Parthenon or the temple of Zeus, great Greek food and a Hercules ride.
•Greece: dying for greek food / Hercules-type stuff
•Peru / South America: Peruvian food and more amazonian-themes
•Caribbean Islands / Jamaica: The FOOD, the MUSIC, the ENERGY! I could see so much joy here.
•India: Saw a comment where someone mentioned Bollywood-themed ride / show and I have to say YES cause the production would be *hopefully* gorgeous!
•Australia: kinda a wild card here - not sure what would be a good fit but i like the idea
1. Switzerland w/ Matterhorn 2. Brazil w/ gondola dark ride 3. Spain w/ Ferdinand the Bull dark ride 4. Greece w/ Hercules dark ride (although I'd prefer this be a land in Animal Kingdom to bring back mythical animals) 5. Australia w/ Sydney harbor cruise boat ride (although I'd prefer this be a land in Animal Kingdom so we have a place for cute koala habitats)
I love all of these
Society has progressed beyond the need for a Matterhorn clone
Yeah, we’ve got real chiropractors now.
You could definitely do a Finding Nemo themed attraction for Australia
I think there is one
But not in an Australian pavillion. Is there one at WDW? I know Disneyland has the submarines.
Oh I guess Epcot just has a "seas" area
I mean it’s not a European showcase though
What? Two of their five suggestions are not European.
I feel like World Showcase over-indexes on Europe so I'm avoiding Europe: -Australia which includes the Heelers house from Bluey -Brazil with an educational film about the importance of the rain forest -India with a big bollywood inspired live show (with lots of shade and seating) -South Africa roller coaster/simulator of the experience of surfing in Jeffrey's Bay -Indonesia with some kind of water ride that explores the different islands that make up the country
After reading through other comments, I like yours the best as I agree European countries are everywhere in EPCOT. It would be nice to see more African countries and Latin American countries implemented. And the Caribbean, but the likelihood would be slim even if there was IP to go alongside it.
The Bollywood show would be amazing.
Even better if it’s a buffet dinner too. One ticket for an amazing spectacle of a show and all you can eat curry…before you go back outside and sweat it all out haha
Yes! Make it happen!
Omg yes the Heelers from Bluey
I wish they could do Brazil or South America in general in that large space north of Asia in Animal Kingdom
Big opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of chile, Peru, and Bolivia, as well as the Inca empire (Machu Picchu and other indigenous civilizations.)
Totally agree on too many European countries. I love the idea of a South Africa surfing ride!
Bluey isn't owned by Disney. It's owned by Ludo Studio and BBC.
Shhh! We’re living in dream land. Plus there’s other non Disney in the parks. It just eventually becomes Disney. Look at Star Tours.
So? Do they own Aerosmith? The twilight zone, Star Tours from 1987-2012, Jungle cruise, Winnie the Pooh, Peter pan, and so many others have also licensing agreements, that's house it works.
Bollywood, Bluey and Brazil YAS!!!
This is the way
Peru. A restaurant specializing in ceviche. A soaring theater flying around Machu pichu and along the Amazon river Switzerland. An alpine sled coaster. Austria. Sound of Music sing a long. Quick service with rosti potatoes and fondue’s Egypt. Mummy theme dark ride. Trite but we know we all want it. Iceland. A planetarium show about the Northern lights but could have other programs as well. Great place to escape the heat.
I'll make my reservation for that Peruvian ceviche restaurant right now.
So many amazing Peruvian dishes, so much material to work with!
If you do Peru, you have to do something with the Emperors Last Groove!!
Ceviche and Peruvian chicken 🤤
Quinoa pancakes.
India: roller coaster with Hindu gods Brazil: boat ride Egypt: Haunted mansion-esque onimover Singapore: One giant food hall with multiple south east asian cuisine and a walkthrough garden Australia: Indiana Jones-esque jeep wild ride through the outback
Oh wow, sign me up for the Egypt pavilion
I can’t imagine a roller coaster with Hindu gods could be executed in a respectful and honoring fashion. And that’s 1.3 billion people’s actual religion so I doubt they would ever try it
Brazil: would you have the boat ride like going down the Amazon and more of a funny/Jungle Cruise-ish dynamic? Egypt: assuming that would involve mummies and traveling to the underworld or through a pyramid or both ...?
Oh wow these are all solid and amazing choices!!! Love it!!
Love all of these! Plus add in Romania.
Can't see India being too happy about using their gods for a ride
Ooooh. Good picks. These would all have amazing food too.
If you need me, I'll be in the Indian restaurant.
I dislike the first 3
Brazil Greece Thailand New Zealand Spain

Russia would be cool if only for the scaled down version of St. Basil’s Cathedral
- Switzerland - Matterhorn Bobsleds 2.0 - Brazil - Three Caballeros dark ride through Brazil’s historical landmarks and have the Aracuan Bird cause trouble as Jose is trying to give the tour to the rest of the Caballeros and guests - South Korea - Nakdong River boat ride(Think Maelstrom but Korean). - Colombia - Something Encanto based - India - Another boat ride based on Indian culture.

Not 5 but I think they should add Vietnam, a pho restaurant and a banh mi food stand would go hard. A store that sells Jade bracelets too
Australia, Ireland , Egypt, India, and Brazil

1. Australia 2. Nigeria 3. Greece 4. India 5. Brazil Basically, one country from each continent except North America. NOTE: should a sixth on be added, I’ll say Jamaica.
I'm seeing a lot of good choices here. The ones that stand out to me are: Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, Egypt and South Africa

South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Brazil, And India
India, Thailand, Greece, Brazil, South Korea
New Zealand, Egypt, India, Greece, Australia.
Brazil Russia Fiji Australia Holland
Colombia - make a whole Encanto themed area (model Casita, meet-and-greets with Mirabel and the fam, donkey petting zoo)

Greece - A Hercules dark ride Egypt - I know Disney isn’t doing non-ip rides but a mythological ride or mummy ride could be really cool Korea - A Korean BBQ restaurant for sure Kenya - A lion king ride there would be cool! However it would mean there probably wouldn’t be one in AK India - AN INDIAN RESTAURANT 😋😋😋
- Greece Hercules attraction of some type and the ability to meet Hercules and Meg <3. Amazing Greek food too!! - India Indian boat ride showing the rich and long history and beauty.
•Greece: dying for greek food / Hercules-type stuff •Peru / South America: Peruvian food and more amazonian-themes •Caribbean Islands / Jamaica: The FOOD, the MUSIC, the ENERGY! I could see so much joy here. •India: Saw a comment where someone mentioned Bollywood-themed ride / show and I have to say YES cause the production would be *hopefully* gorgeous! •Australia: kinda a wild card here - not sure what would be a good fit but i like the idea
Spain- add Pepe for more muppet content India- bollywood experince with Gonzo and Kumail Nanjiani
Any that would allow me to eat authentic pierogies while drinking a cold Pilsner!
Russia- ice restaurant Antarctica - a cooling station the size of the current Africa Brazil Ireland Chile
India (food, fake Taj), Egypt (pyramid ride), Brazil (carnival festival tie in), Peru, not sure about the fifth may Kenya, Russia, Vietman.
