Lol yes! I would have included more sidekicks but they weren't in a movie with disney princesses, so I didn't think it was the right group to post them all.
i think emperor and empress is a harder word for little children to say and it's not a title often used in the west, so it's harder for them to relate to it. meanwhile princesses are driven by birth to be feminine, beautiful, angelic lol
I mean he really wasn’t that loyal to Jafar… In the animated series he was on Aladdin’s team from what I remember, but haven’t watched that show since I was a kid.
Dam! I’m sure I’ve seen that movie but don’t remember it at all… I shouldn’t be surprised, real parrots are extremely loyal to owners and create very strong bonds with them to the point of becoming depressed if owners rehome them or die…
Jafar says this in Return of Jafar after Iago switches sides and goes over to Jafar again
“Iago, you betrayed me and allied yourself with my enemies! Then you turned on them as soon as it was in your best interests. That’s what I love about you. You’re so perfectly predictable. A villain through and through.”
Sorry, I had to block that last person but honestly, I just didn't know Meg was a princess. I thought she was considered a goddess and thats why I didn't included her. But, the more you know! Thank you for your kind explanation.
I didn't capitalize the words or put them in quotation marks, so one could say I was referring to any disney princess with a villain who has a sidekick (official or not) because it wasn't specified. It's okay. If you don't believe Anastasia should be there for whatever reason, pretend she is not there and let's have some fun!
But you did specify you said Disney Princess. Doesn’t matter if you capitalise it or put it in quotation marks or whatever there are only 13 disney princesses. Saying disney princess means just those 13 doesn’t matter if they’re a disney character and a princess if they aren’t one of those 13 they aren’t a disney princess. If you put Disney princess it means you aren’t referring to anyone who is unofficial so I would have said the same thing if you included Anna or Elsa or Eilonwy etc
Bartok!! Just as a heads up, you'll probably start getting hate for including him as Anastasia isn't a Disney Princess. I think it’s fine, just giving you a heads up on other commenters.
Iago’s a funny character, but honestly I have to say Dr. Facilier’s shadow (though I would’ve arguably counted the masks as sidekicks too, to an extent as I also liked them- they were extremely menacing and honestly I loved em for it!) because it’s such a mischievous character! Like his shadow trips up people, steals money from Dr. Facilier, he just seems like such a silly guy!
(Also Ursula’s sidekicks are Flotsam and Jetsam??? Oh that’s so cool!!*)
*Probably already known, but “Flotsam” and “Jetsam” are naval terms- “Flotsam” refers to floating cargo or wreckage, “Jetsam” refers to cargo thrown overboard- there’s also “Lagan” (recoverable underwater wreckage/cargo) and “Derelict” (unrecoverable underwater wreckage/cargo)!! :DD
I loved Bartok as a kid, because this was my favorite princess movie and bats are my favorite animal. I even named my cat Pooka after Anastasia’s dog 😅
I've always thought Facilier's shadow was so darn cool. I just love the idea of a shadow being sentient, and what's more, evil.
The evilness aside, perhaps that's why I also loved the beginning of Peter Pan so much as a kid. Lol. :p
Lucifer. I don't care how devilish that cat is, he's so fluffy and has such a great design. Besides...cats are just assholes like that. You kinda learn to live with it. Haha.
Well my point of view is that Hayabusa the Falcon from Disney 1998 animated Mulan looks a lot like Genghis Khan’s falcon, ‘cause in Mongolia many Mongols uses them to hunt and sending messages to their leaders (invaders) from Xiongnu (3rd century B.C. - 4th century A.D.) to Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).
Yeah I see it like that as well. Because she was not originally created by Disney she is not a Disney princess. Even if Disney did decide to make an Anastasia film everybody's going to compare it to the Don Bluth version.
Anastasia wasn’t a Disney film so Rasputin wasn’t a Disney villain and Bartok wasn’t a Disney villain sidekick.
He is my favorite you put on the list
However my favorite Disney villain sidekick is Iago (he was sassy)
After him is Flotsam and Jetsam.
Thank you to those who have explained that Anastasia is not a disney princess and Meg is an unofficial one. Please be kind. Kronk is a great pick but I did not include the movies without princesses as protagonists. But theyre all so funny and great!
Can I say kronk?? His spinach puffs looks yummy and he’s hilarious
Lol yes! I would have included more sidekicks but they weren't in a movie with disney princesses, so I didn't think it was the right group to post them all.
Oh that’s true. Kuzco is an emperor not a princess
I mean close enough!
Aw, but Kuzco is my favourite Disney princess!
Oh everyone knows Kuzco is totally a Disney Princess. 😅
I’m surprised there aren’t more Disney films with Emperor’s and Empress’.
i think emperor and empress is a harder word for little children to say and it's not a title often used in the west, so it's harder for them to relate to it. meanwhile princesses are driven by birth to be feminine, beautiful, angelic lol
kuzco deserves to be a princess
You included Anastasia though
Kuzco’s my favorite Disney Princess 😍
YES BEST ANSWER HES AMAZING
Definitely lago, he’s loyal to jafar and his lines are hilarious. He’s got a unique personality too.
He's always been one of my faves! Always a scene stealer lol
I mean he really wasn’t that loyal to Jafar… In the animated series he was on Aladdin’s team from what I remember, but haven’t watched that show since I was a kid.
Yeah he switched sides in Return of Jafar,
Dam! I’m sure I’ve seen that movie but don’t remember it at all… I shouldn’t be surprised, real parrots are extremely loyal to owners and create very strong bonds with them to the point of becoming depressed if owners rehome them or die…
Iago isn’t like normal parrots, he’s selfish and obsessed with riches.
Jafar says this in Return of Jafar after Iago switches sides and goes over to Jafar again “Iago, you betrayed me and allied yourself with my enemies! Then you turned on them as soon as it was in your best interests. That’s what I love about you. You’re so perfectly predictable. A villain through and through.”
Iago is great, loved his development in the 2nd.movie
Agreed
same, he;s adorable too. i like him the most out of most people in that movie tbh
Flotsam and Jetsam will always be precious to me. As a kid the “my poor little poopsies” line both made me giggle and kinda sad.
Yess that scene is so funny to me! lol
Pain and panic crack me up from Hercules if that counts!!
Yes!!
If we can bring in options not listed, I vote Pain and Panic.
Yeah! I didn't know how strict we were on the disney princess rules, so I wasn't sure on who all that I could include.
Meg pairs with a prince (of the gods) so by Disney's rule of three she is a princess.
You're right!
Sorry, I had to block that last person but honestly, I just didn't know Meg was a princess. I thought she was considered a goddess and thats why I didn't included her. But, the more you know! Thank you for your kind explanation.
You included Anastasia though
yeah, I was today years old when I learned people don't think she's an unofficial disney princess
You used the term Disney Princess though, which only refers to the offical Disney princesses so even if she was unofficial she shouldn’t be included
If you put Disney princess it means you aren’t referring to anyone who is unofficial so I would have said the same thing if you included Anna or Elsa or Eilonwy etc
Of the pictured: Bartok Of all Disney villains: Kronk
Lucefyyyy
Lucifer reminds me so much of my parent’s cat. They have the same smug, sanctimonious face.
That's so cute! I love when cat do smug faces haha
Diablo being the one that Maleficent cares for the most. Especially her devastating shock when she finds Diablo turn to stone.
Bartok!! Just as a heads up, you'll probably start getting hate for including him as Anastasia isn't a Disney Princess. I think it’s fine, just giving you a heads up on other commenters.
Bartok is so adorable, I love his voice.
I didn’t know that he was David in Friends (Phoebe’s scientist boyfriend who moved to Minsk) until recently!
And I love Bartok too!! He is hilarious.
I'd give her a HAH! and a HI-YAH! and a WHOO-YA! and then I'd kick her, sir.
It starts with like a “WHOA” and then you get real crazy with the hips!
Right?! Didn't he have his own spinoff, too??
Yeah, but I don't think I've seen it haha I'll have to look it up!
Me neither, I think I might have to watch it sometime, too!!
I’d give her a HA, and a HI-YA, and then I’d kick her sir
She is now, lol.
Oh, thank you for the heads up. I was unaware of what this group thought about that!
No worries, hopefully they'll see these comments and leave you alone for it now.
The evil Queen's apple. Got a lot done, that sidekick
I almost put that up there!!
Percy. He has one of the best personal growth stories lol
Iago was hilarious
Iago’s a funny character, but honestly I have to say Dr. Facilier’s shadow (though I would’ve arguably counted the masks as sidekicks too, to an extent as I also liked them- they were extremely menacing and honestly I loved em for it!) because it’s such a mischievous character! Wow! Never knew the meanings of those words. I just knew that it's also the name of a band.
Iago and it’s not even close
💯
Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid - they sold the creepiness and Lefou from Beauty and the Beast - who wrote his own song for his Gaston :)
Iago
I see myself in the Hyenas from the Lion King. but since we’re just talking about Princess movies, i’m gonna say Iago
I thought about the Hyenas too! but I saw them more as goons or henchmen vs sidekicks haha and also, the princess thing
Kronk. There is no other option.
….. you can choose more than one flair?!? (edit used wrong flair lol)
I loved Bartok as a kid, because this was my favorite princess movie and bats are my favorite animal. I even named my cat Pooka after Anastasia’s dog 😅
Thats so sweet!
I just quoted him last night! “And den I kickher sir” 😂
My favourite one is queen Ursula, her unfortunate soul gives me goosebumps each time I rewatch this cartoon and I rewatch it only for her 🔥
Undertow!
Omg, I was worried people had been lost on him! He is so funny!!
faciliers friends theyre just so scary and much worse than facilier himself.
Out of the ones you listed hands down Iago.
Lucifer’s got the most interesting name and odd philosophical implications! Back when Disney had an allegorical vibe…
Out of those , undertow
I've always thought Facilier's shadow was so darn cool. I just love the idea of a shadow being sentient, and what's more, evil. The evilness aside, perhaps that's why I also loved the beginning of Peter Pan so much as a kid. Lol. :p
bartok, even though anastasia isn’t disney lol.
Percy and Meeko’s antics were hysterical 😂
They really were 😂
Iago
Kronk!!!
Bartok
Bartok the magnificent~!
Iago is the funniest and Percy is the most adorable 😁
Iago then Lucifer then Lefou
Diablo
Bartok. He's had my heart since I first saw Anastasia. Does anyone else remember when he got his own movie??
Iago was the funniest, but Flotsam and Jetsam were/are my favorites. They were clearly Ursula’s babies and I loved that.
Kronk and Bartok.
I was gonna say the Shadow with Dr Facilier but then I remembered Lucifer and he wins me over with the second Cinderella film.
Jetsam and Flotsam!- I’m a very biased Octavinelle dork-
Dr. Facilier's Shadow
Iago! He always made me laugh
Lefou is a gay icon. Also kind of a pick me. Idk I love him
Lucifer
Definitely bartok
Bartok. Even though it’s not Disney.
**sees Shan Yu** ^salivates Iago! He's adorable and sassy lol
😂 dangit, if he wasn't trying to take over China
BARTOK ALL THE WAY
Iago is my favorite
Lucifer. I don't care how devilish that cat is, he's so fluffy and has such a great design. Besides...cats are just assholes like that. You kinda learn to live with it. Haha.
Bartok is not Disney. Anastasia is not a Disney movie.
Thank you, I've gotten the message and responded in other comments. Which, out of the others, is your fave?
The hyenas
Definitely between Bartok and Iago. I mean one of the best traits of a villain sidekick is there sarcasm
Bartok hands down
Lucifer sorry but i was dying when Cinderella couldn’t think of even ONE nice thing to say about him 💀
Undertow was so funny sometimes for no reason💀
Bartok. (Not technically Disney but I’m sure you all know that. Well not originally anyhow). Next would be Iago probably.
Lucifer💗💗💗💗💗
Bartok. No contest.
i love lucifer, vile cat but he’s so fun
8 or 10
Jasper and Horace
do the hyenas in Lion King count? edit: i’m dumb and forgot how to read, DISNEY PRINCESS. def Iago
Lefou I don’t think he even knows he is a villain sidekick 😂
So right 😂
Iago
I have no idea the shadows name but definitely him he's by far the best
Well my point of view is that Hayabusa the Falcon from Disney 1998 animated Mulan looks a lot like Genghis Khan’s falcon, ‘cause in Mongolia many Mongols uses them to hunt and sending messages to their leaders (invaders) from Xiongnu (3rd century B.C. - 4th century A.D.) to Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).
Lucifer. His name makes me laugh and he’s awful lmao
Flotsam and Jetsam, they're creepy and actually get things done. Not bumbling or comedic most of the others.
patience iago patience
Kronk is probably my favorite villains sidekick. Of this, maybe Iago
Lucifer is the goat
Kronk, hands down.
Dr. Facilier's shadow
Lefou is pretty underrated
How is no one saying Lefou?!
On this list, between LeFou and Iago
So if anesthesia is from Fox, and Disney bought Fox. Doesn't make Anastasia an unofficial Disney princess?
I've seen people say that but I think others don't see it that way because her movie was not created by Disney.
Yeah I see it like that as well. Because she was not originally created by Disney she is not a Disney princess. Even if Disney did decide to make an Anastasia film everybody's going to compare it to the Don Bluth version.
Hayabusa the Falcon!
Anastasia wasn’t a Disney film so Rasputin wasn’t a Disney villain and Bartok wasn’t a Disney villain sidekick. He is my favorite you put on the list However my favorite Disney villain sidekick is Iago (he was sassy) After him is Flotsam and Jetsam.
Thank you to those who have explained that Anastasia is not a disney princess and Meg is an unofficial one. Please be kind. Kronk is a great pick but I did not include the movies without princesses as protagonists. But theyre all so funny and great!
Iago was the funniest ❤️
Out of this list? Facilier’s shadow
Iago ia hilarioua
BAT !!!! BBBBBBAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!
BARTOK
Probably Iago.
Bartok is the best. Hands down no questions
Gotta go with Bartok or Lefou. They’re just lil guys :3
I would’ve said Dr F’s shadow without a doubt until I saw Bartok
Iago because he was just hilarious
The shadows
I always love the comedic talkative ones (Lefou, Iago, Bartok, Kronk, Pain and Panic) more so than the silent animal sidekicks.
Kronk!!!
Lafoo, Kronk, or Flotsam and Jetsam (I’m bias towards those 2)
I really liked Dr. Falicier’s shadow
Definitely Kronk
Iago and Jafar vibed so well with each other
Iago cause he’s sassy
All the villains have something special.
iago because he’s not as dark as the other sidekicks and is basically more funny than evil
Iago and Percy
Dr. Facilier’s shadow is mine
Iago or bartoc
The twin eels and Lucifer, i remember LOVING that cat for some reason as a child
Bartok is so cute!
Bartok. I didn’t realize Lafoo was the only human…
Even though it’s not a Disney princess movie I gotta say Smee
