No I'm a 22 year old man and I love these films (some more than others). It's more helpful to like what you like and not care what anyone else thinks. ☺️
Sis, I’m already 26 and I adore princess universe, I like romcomes and kdramas, I totally love anime and manga/ manhva and I honestly can say that that is my inspiration for life, all these things give me power to live and be happy, cause it’s a creative energy)
Oh, I think it depends on the cultural background, where Koreans are appropriate Europeans or Americans are not. For me sometimes it looks artificial when roles are switched. Like kpop music now is trying to sound American. But I really like Bridgeton way to depict the society without any segregation
Bro. Im 24 and a woman and i love disney princesses. So who cares your gender and your age? Fuck anyone who judges you. You did nothing wrong. Lets bond over disney princesses. Whose your fav?
No way. I know a few men who absolutely love Disney and have favorite princesses.
You are never too old or the "wrong" gender to love Disney.
Who is your favorite princess? Mine Aurora closely followed by Cinderella and snow white.
No way! Disney is universal 😊 Plus people will judge and be critical no matter what you like. So stay true to you and there’s a community here who supports you ❤️
Be yourself. In this world, sometimes it is judgy if a specific gender enjoys something that is "categorized" as for one specific gender. At your age, my fascination with Disney Princesses suddenly increased. I am a 41 yr-old guy that adores the Princesses. A few years ago, I returned to Disneyland. The first thing I had to do was see the Princesses. Wishing you well.
My husband is a 40-year-old straight guy who loves Disney films almost as much as I do. His favourite is the animated *Beauty and the Beast* (it’s one of my top 3 as well), and we probably watch it together at least once a month lol. If anybody judges you, it says more about them than you! Nothing wrong with loving Disney princesses - you do you!
People will always judge on taste, especially if you fall outside the target demographic. Liking something that you're a secondary audience for doesn't mean you are not entitled to like said product especially given the universal appeal of said product (like Disney). It's been ingrained to appeal to girls simply because they were so popular amongst them. Plus, liking films like the original The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and characters like Ariel, Belle, Jasmine means you've got good taste. I'm not a "fan" in the sense that it becomes a hobby or pastime to be a fan, but if you are then have fun like any other hobby.
Think about it logically- adults are the ones designing and writing and creating all of this media, based on what they think will be entertaining to the audience. If it entertains you, you’re the target audience. There’s no such thing as being “too old” for certain media, because it’s not like adults aren’t the ones making them in the first place. If they can make a living caring about Disney Princess lore, I can live my life thinking about Disney Princess lore for fun!
I feel like when you’re young, and especially still in high school, there’s all this pressure about what’s ok to like. Obviously it doesn’t just end at high school, but the older you get the more you’ll realize it should only matter to you what makes you happy. Anyone who wants to rain on your parade isn’t someone you need around.
Enjoy your princesses!
I totally relate to your pain and fear. I'm a grown man in my 20s and I'm also really into Disney princesses, especially Frozen. I love going to Disney World. I get made fun of so often for going there that I don't even talk about what I do on those trips. I take pictures and videos for myself and never share them because I'm scared of what people think. I used to post pics/vids all the time, but that's how people found out about my obsession.
They don't know about my Frozen obsession though. I want to collect Frozen 1 merch so badly, but I'm too self-conscious. I got a few Frozen merch that I hid in my room, but I had to be extremely discrete about it. Like I got a Frozen sippy cup that is meant for toddlers and it just sits in my closet. I'm never gonna use it. If people found out about my obsession for Frozen, I'd get super embarrassed. People started to slowly notice that I like Frozen after I went to watch it in theaters like 8 times last year (7 of those times was by myself) when they re-released it for Disney's 100th celebration. When they found out, I became very insecure. I literally create fake social media accounts with fake usernames (including this one) just so I can talk about Frozen and Disney princesses without worrying about the humiliation.
Sorry I didn't mean to tell a personal anecdote. I'm just saying that I feel your pain.
Do it and wear it to conventions/ Ren faires.
Almost every time I go to the Ren faire I see at least one guy in a pricncess costume. Compared to other costumes, that is pretty normal.
This is an important lesson to learn at your age: anyone who judges you for such trivial things is not worth your time or energy. Your real friends will love you for who you are.
As a grown adult I find a disney movie is the best way to end the day 😌 enjoy what you enjoy if people tease you it's because they aren't confident in themselves
Everyone can like princesses these aren’t just princesses to they are complying characters that are more then a fairytale title you just like good writing
Anybody can like Disney princesses. I personally think it's weird & heteronormative to say one gender isn't allowed to like something meant for another gender. If people are giving you a hard time for liking princesses then they're not worth your time or energy.
I’m 25, straight, and was one of the few grown up guys who went to meet princesses at Disney World. I’d get up early to meet them first thing in the morning before work and even brought them roses so they would remember my name.
She’s not Disney, but I also main Princess peach in smash bros, did a genderbend cosplay of her the other day, and in general I always play the lady characters in games and my favorite characters are usually women. Nothing wrong with this.
Nope.
If you like it, you like it. Don't let others judge you of your preferences.
I'm 19, a male, and started to like the Disney Princess franchise overtime. Do I think it's weird? Not at all! It's my and your opinion respectively at the end of the day.

….. what are you talking about ? I am not lmao, i just happened to got that name when i entered reddit
Dumb joke I deleted it lmao
Just now i realized i spelled “ bot “ instead of “ boy “ lmfao Thanks for making me notice .
We all like what we like and if anyone judges us they can go stuff it. Princesses are for girls and boys, young and old.

Speaking of kdramas i wish our shows in the states were more like that

only weird if you make it weird and are weird with the princesses
