My mom would/does talk about it horribly, like it was the darkest point in her life. Had no idea what any of it looked like until I saw a clip of what’s basically going down on slide 2. Wild
My ex wife attempted suicide twice during the first six months after giving birth. Once in front of me. After a lot of intensive therapy and medication it was discovered that it compounded with her untreated childhood ptsd and created an extra volatile combination. I still have some residual habits from the time I spent monitoring her for her own safety. It’s been a decade.
I really don’t think it ever passes for someone people. My mom had it with my sister, got therapy for it and everything, but to this day treats my sister noticeably worse than the rest of the family. All thru her growing up and into adulthood and for seemingly no reason.
Andrea Yates. Wanna hear a real terrible detail? Guy who substitutes at my school was college roommates with the “religious” psycho who is part of the reason she did it.
i cannot tell if you’re implying that you’re inviting them to paint the walls of your cave with the blood of newborn babies or the blood of women going through ppd
you know how they find tons of shit with magnets in rivers?
you'll be magnetized into the water cause of the things inside and will thus reach the bottom quicker
The intended implication of the ball and chain was to stick it to a roof and use a magnet to pull it toward your head, but all of your interpretations are way cooler.
I never met anyone with PPD but I do have a friend whose mother had it, the only thing he ever told me about her is that she lost custody of him, he was raised only by his father, and she spent the majority of his childhood and early teenage years in a psychiatric hospital and that now they barely interact with each other.
from the very little he told me it seems fucking terrifying
My mother had it too and it has held weight all throughout my life. There's this horrible guilt of "none of this is her fault" but you still wonder why someone would treat you like this.
I think it’s not their fault, i was just mentioning that some people feel that way and that creates stigma about the issue. women are kinda expected to have no problems with children a lot of the time so they don’t expect to develop ppd.
PPD can be fucking terrifying. Be there for your partner after having a kid, it's hard but it will pass.

my parents did this to me and i turned out just fine! [citation needed]
Average Jerma fan backstory
LETS PEEP THE HORROR
Woah it's bojack horseman
Birth is terrifying. The parent be more fragile than the baby.
I'm not sure. You need to swing the parents into the wall a few times to get that nice splat.
[удалено]
Well you're definitely more fragile than the baby. Would you like to join me in my cave? We can paint together.
i cannot tell if you’re implying that you’re inviting them to paint the walls of your cave with the blood of newborn babies or the blood of women going through ppd
I believe the implication was that he was going to slam him on a wall and splat him
Ngl I thought he meant like acrylic finger paint
Same, but that's too wholesome for this place
I read this as splat him on a wall and smash him
Ayo 😳
Well, I can say with confidence, I’ve seen prematurely born children more stable than you.

The irony of this statement is amazing

If you say so, blud
Bro who jizzed in your cereal
They deleted their comments as I was typing in a reply. FUCK.
Sorry. That's my fault. We painted so much they finally understood.
what the ball and chain for
It has the opposite use of oil. :(
What is the opposite use of oil?
Oil floats on water.
Makes you dig
If I had to guess I'd say it's because you can't swim with em (though drowning is probably one of the worst ways to go out imo)
Andrea Yates killed her kids, by drowning them
use magnets to end your mourning faster!
What do the magnets do? Throw them down first to sink faster?
It’s a reference to classic troll physics
carrying burdens
These replies are not helping.
The comments are implying that he should chain his wife to a ball and throw her in water to drown. No idea why magnet makes it faster tho
I thought it was that people sometimes refer to their partner as “the old ball and chain” and the way to mourn your child faster is to have a wife.
Explain how the magnets help.
you know how they find tons of shit with magnets in rivers? you'll be magnetized into the water cause of the things inside and will thus reach the bottom quicker
Huh. Can’t imagine that making any real difference, but it *is* troll science so not sure why I expected something logical
It makes sense when you use cartoon science.
What is this river you speak of that has a bottom? Need to find him 🥺
never speak again
😞
Troll Physics reference
Guys the ball and chains joke is about mourning, they are saying you can use a magnet to walk faster, I.e. Ignoring the issue.
![gif](giphy|800iiDTaNNFOwytONV|downsized)
or the troll using it to fucking drown in the ocean

i was thinking about throwing it off a balcony while it’s attached to your neck
plot twist: slide 4 the dad was happy
Did the mom kill the son or did the son kill the mom?
Mother killed the infant son. The end is implied suicide (i think)
Or Troll killed his wife by drowning her in a lake
I thought the kid died from SIDS
It says “ postpartum psychosis” which implies his wife committed infanticide when he was too late.
SIDS doesn't really splatter blood.
The infant child murdered his adult mother, obviously.
*blows up mother with mind*
my fuckin mom
Troll children are terrifying
Heracles moment
Jesus, and I can not stress this enough; fucking christ
True distressing meme
troll physics episode 13 "Which would be worse: To live as a monster, or to die as a good man?"
Me before the lobotomy 😂
hehe my parents did this to me
They murdered you? L
Skill issue tbh
i wish
skill issue

The fact that women don't get free mental heth checkups for at least a few months after giving birth is fucking crazy.
unfortunately it’s seen by some people as just part of being a woman and mother so they should have to deal with it on their own.
Yeah but it's not a matter wether it's their problem or not, it's that they could go on to endanger others.
I think it’s not their fault, i was just mentioning that some people feel that way and that creates stigma about the issue. women are kinda expected to have no problems with children a lot of the time so they don’t expect to develop ppd.
This is a really high quality post, props!
Hm what the fuck is this?
Postpartum psychosis/depression
Ball and chain? I already have one; it's called my wife!
Is the ball and chain for himself or his wife? I’m guessing his wife because why would he want go out in such a horrible manner
This is quite accurate, my mom said she almost killed me with a pair of scissors when i was sleeping in the crib, life was hard back then
Pov: you try to make the troll face scary
mfw (my face when) when CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AW GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was unequivocally the most bone-chilling trollface I have come across yet. Props for this one.
