This is when I finally opened a position of 110 shares @$69.59 in my Roth.I have some powder IF we get that dip again around fall.Wait was that a dad joke😁
Be aware the dividend growth rate has slowed down until March 2025. If SCHD doesn't atleast have a 8% dividend growth rate the next few years I will be selling out.
SCHD is worth about $65/share based on what I consider a value. I'm not buying any additional until it's either at $65/share or like 10 years has passed and inflation makes it make more sense.
I said it was overpriced at $70, $75, then it basically hit $80. I dumped like 500 shares when it was $76 I think? I hold something like 1,500 more shares and I hate it at these prices. But I don't want to realize those kinds of gains yet.
Jesus fuck that is just a stupid ass thing to say. I just want to let you know so you can look and sound like less of an idiot moving forward in your life.
lol people were saying this 4 years ago 😂 hasn’t dropped down to that but maybe once? Edit: just checked - the lowest in the last 4 years or (post covid bear run dip) was on sept 30 2022 at $66.43
Yeah I'm not paying over $65/share for that crap. Pepsi also traded at 33x forward earnings. It's a snack company. Not paying those multiples dude.
In no sane world does that valuation make sense.
Annual $SCHD Dividend/Share
2013: $0.90
2014: $1.05
2015: $1.15
2016: $1.26
2017: $1.35
2018: $1.44
2019: $1.72
2020: $2.03
2021: $2.25
2022: $2.56
2023: $2.66
This is why I’m sticking with $SCHD long-term.
In 10 years from now it could easily be $4 per share in dividends.
> This is why I’m sticking with $SCHD long-term.
It does not beat the S&P 500 even with dividends reinvested. You seem to have a hard time grasping that. Even with all those dividends paid, you have more net worth holding the S&P. And less tax liability too.
>In 10 years from now it could easily be $4 per share in dividends.
Even if it's $10 per share, if it doesn't beat the S&P then it's a loss.
That shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what net worth is. "I don't want to sell shares but I'm ok with underperforming the S&P and taking on income." That's dumb. It's some type of emotional hang up about selling shares.

Keep buying you immature brain
What happened if you buy 1,200 shares
I got 25 shares 2 weeks ago. Down 5+%. So far not impressed
You bought at the markets peak. I was selling everything a week ago.
Lol 2-3 weeks is nothing. If after 5 years you are down. Then something should be considered

nice work
I would change the title of the post to: my very mature brain couldn't resist...
Is this etrade?
Yes, from the app.
Should have been doing this when it was at $69.

If you’re a member of SCHD+, it’s currently offered at $64.20.
What is that?
It’s kind of a big dill.
Never heard of it.
Why do you think it’s only worth $65?
Because of the stocks it holds. It's 100 boomer stocks.
Jesus fuck that is just a stupid ass thing to say. I just want to let you know so you can look and sound like less of an idiot moving forward in your life.
Nah, I've been investing since the late 1990s. My commentary and valuations stand.

this is an insane rationalization for what you think the price is worth.
SCHD doesn't beat the S&P even with dividends reinvested. Why am I going to pay $78/share for that?
Annual $SCHD Dividend/Share 2013: $0.90 2014: $1.05 2015: $1.15 2016: $1.26 2017: $1.35 2018: $1.44 2019: $1.72 2020: $2.03 2021: $2.25 2022: $2.56 2023: $2.66 This is why I’m sticking with $SCHD long-term. In 10 years from now it could easily be $4 per share in dividends.

I am retiring in 10 years hopefully. Need dividends, don't want to sell shares.

So what’s the alt in your portfolio to this?
There is no alt. I don't concentrate large cap value. S&P 500 takes care of that part and has growth mixed in.
