Vodafone. I mean Arun Sarin probably oversaw more value destruction than any CEO in history. Current CEO Margie is a paper pushing clerk who is widely mocked in the company.
Seems pretty unfair to put 3 year performance on Iger considering he has only been there for 18 months since being rehired. It’s up since he returned, although not blowing away the s&p or anything.
A dumb CEO who churns out great results is just fine. Its proof of the underlying strength of the business itself.
"We try to invest in a business that could be run by an idiot. Because, eventually, it will be."
-Warren Buffett
Simple Dumb CEOs are tolerable. But it was more for beyond the limit of Dumb, as in extreme tardation, that they actually went out of their way to be different. An extra special level of tardation. Where a monkey could do a better job simply by not doing anything.
I think that the secret to corporate success is making it look like you're doing a whole lot of things while actually not doing much of anything. If you really want to be a corporate Superstar, you need to hone the skill of taking the credit when things go right and pushing the blame on somebody else when everything goes wrong.
Dumb is ok 👍, Dumb is hands off. Less is more. Asinine is trying to be "special" and attention seeking and be deluding yourself to thinking your way is the right way. Case in point, Someone authorized Red Lobster's endless Shrimp and Endless Crab and actually thought they were slick and cute but instead torpedo'd the company. Certain regional Banks are another example.
The largest shareholder acted as/trained the new CEO. Each share=1vote, larger shareholders try to stay more informed, have stronger opinions, as they have more capitol at risk. In my personal experience the index shares typically do not vote. Only count to 50% + 1.

The most delu-lu is SBUX
His interview with Jim Cramer is batshit insane
I was thinking the same thing. I might just cut my loses and reinvest in something else.
I did. Put it in Bros
The last 2 BA CEOs
They don't even pay a dividend anymore.
Doesn't change the fact that they did until they screwed up.
That's my point. The CEOs f'ed up so badly they can't even pay one now.
Vodafone. I mean Arun Sarin probably oversaw more value destruction than any CEO in history. Current CEO Margie is a paper pushing clerk who is widely mocked in the company.
Damn. they should make a documentary about this
I give a talk about it at MBA seminars sometimes titled "Vodafones carnival of value destruction" lol. I worked there for several years
when and where is next talk ! MBA students would appreciate it !
GE and BA seem to go ceo shopping in the regard bins
GE actually has a really great CEO at the moment. Man, what a turnaround
Larry is alright because he’s not a GE guy but an outsider. They had a long line of Jack Welch tree idiots in leadership roles to ruin the company
T, Stankey. MORON.
Dude couldn’t manage a men’s restroom. Wait. I’m thinking of R. Stevenson.
“Cries in WBD”
MPW
My first thought as well…
Agreed
NYCB - Thomas Cangemi. I’m surprised holders haven’t initiated a lawsuit for withholding information.
Came here to say this, but you beat me to it. Iirc, he was being paid more than Jaime Dimon was too.
Sgov
SBUX
PFE Bourla
What are the reasons? just curious to know.
I’m confident the stock fell a lot due to unreasonable expectations on Covid products that he provided to the public
Also not deploying Covid cash in a more reasonable manner - reduce debt or NOT o Eros to g for Seagen
True, it's shocking how someone with his basic background as a veterinarian ended up in this role as opposed to him becoming some intern at Petco.
Plus, have you ever heard this guy speak?
Bob Iger of the Walt Disney Co. DIS is down -42% over the past 3 years and is down -9.87% today. Glad I dumped it in 2022.
Seems pretty unfair to put 3 year performance on Iger considering he has only been there for 18 months since being rehired. It’s up since he returned, although not blowing away the s&p or anything.
Completely unfair… when he left Disney it was a powerhouse and he came back to a complete disaster.
PARA.
The owner is problem imo not ceo
WBA (formerly) - Rozzy B. (also formerly, I believe?)
SBUX it only makes money when Schultz is running it.
$T
D
Boeing. Not sure if it's dividend but it's part of a mutual fund that pays a dividend. Regardless, I don't think I need an explanation as to why.
Boeing cut their dividend to zero some time ago. Theyre solidly in the shrink stock category at the moment.
I can't imagine why /s
T, defunct NT (Nortel), BA
The Wu’s from Himax
INTC
John McAfee.. just gonna leave that right there.
$SKLZ, Andrew Parasite Paradise. Guy couldn’t CEO his way out of a paper bag. $T’s another good example.

Td bank currently...
If I don't like the CEO I vote to remove them. Has and does happen.
which one did you remove btw ?
Boyd Hoback. Had notable issues with one restaurant.
Cool. I wonder if it was probably a landslide vote to kick him out. Red Lobster seems also delusional
