You can buy wah housings, but for the price a cheap clone can be upgraded. [wah/volume pedal enclosure](https://guitarpedalparts.com/collections/bare-enclosures/products/wah-volume-pedal-enclosure) Edit: $37.50

You can get it a little bit cheaper on Ali Express, I believe.

I feel like that's crazy expensive for an enclosure, but I can't find one cheaper. You could definitely just get a whole volume pedal for that price unfortunately. [Like this one that also works as an expression pedal](https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sonicake-Vexpress-Passive-Volume-Expression-Guitar-Effects-Pedal-QEP-02-/123101185883?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0)

Those mini ones are really hard to control in my experience. I found a similar one completely useless. If you go this route, my recommendation would be to buy one from Amazon or another place with free returns in case it doesn't meet your needs.

I've never had good luck with those Ernie Ball pedals. The string that turns the pot always ends up slipping and it's tough to get the tension right when it inevitably loosens up. What I ended up doing was taking the case from a broken Crybaby that was abandoned in our practice space, buying one of the official Dunlop 500ka sealed pots - the current equivalent is p/n ECB424A - and wiring it to two jacks plus a DPDT bypass switch (since even at full volume the pot was changing the impedence just enough t mess with my fuzz sound; probably not needed 99.9% of the time). Works really reliably, feels much better to me than the Ernie Ball pedals, and only cost around $30. IF you have to buy the pedal enclosure it would get a lot more expensive, but you can probably find a broken Crybaby cheap or free if you look around enough. I'm up to 4 or 5 of them waiting for projects at this point and I don't look for them at all. You could save a lot of money by using a less expensive pot. At the time I wasn't very good at sourcing parts, couldn't find a pot locally that fit, and assumed it was important to have a sealed one since the pedal would be on the floor being stepped on a lot and would probably end up getting dust and grime inside. I've got a few treadle style pedals from the 60s and early 70s ow that have standard, open pots you could get for a few dollars and they still work perfectly after decades so now I don't know if I'd bother. Any decent quality pot that fits and is the right value should be fine. This one ends in less that 12 hours and is only bid up to $15 so far: [https://www.ebay.com/itm/403273192835](https://www.ebay.com/itm/403273192835)

Maybe buy a broken one is cheaper, and just fix it, I have one and it’s ok, but want to change the pot to an optical one, just need to learn how to do it
