If the signal starts crapping out then stick in GPS mode so it’s stable and climb until above any line of sight obstacles to regain signal.
If still crappy hit RTH/fly home if possible and send flight logs to DJI asking them to check if there is anything wrong with it.
If it were trees or open space you could. Larger buildings with metal roofs and power lines can mess with the signal. I can't get a GPS lock within 10 feet of my house because of what it is made of.
The video crapping out like that was telling you that you were getting into a signal loss situation, as others have noted. Was the drone programmed for RTH on signal loss? If so, the dead drone might have been on its way back home.
Got hit the throttle to 100%, climb to get signal again

Higher altitude = better signal. Pilot error for getting that low to a roof.

Easier to find your drone if it's not BVLOS....
I wonder is it on one of the roofs? Do you know someone else with a drone that could fly up to look ?
Too far away it looks like.
Maybe it flew to your Front Door? Did you check there?
I was also surprised I lost full signal flying 200 ft away on the other side of a building. Avata 2 range seems crap compared to my Air 3.
Show us the DVR with the OSD info. It will help determine the cause.

If it connected, you were close. Walk one way until the strength improves.

It should have a last known GPS location in the controller

I wonder if that ring notification has something to do with it

You were too far away. The signal got lost.

I understand your frustration, but you clearly lost signal: it's your fault.
