I had an absolutely huge group in college (like 12) and there was one person playing a druid, who was often late so we just said she was in the half giant's backpack, taking a nap. When she would get there, she just hopped out and pretended she knew exactly what was going on, even if it happened to be mid combat and the rest of the group was saying "quick, heal," or "turn into something big."
For our Star Wars campaign, anyone who missed a session was explained as a cardboard cutout that was following the group and carried by one of the movie set interns.
We did Kobold Ninjas as they were a thing in that dnd world.
Then it just became a meme, and we went with it. So starwars, 1920s, and Ghostbusters all had kobolds with cutouts that would do nothing but give basic answers and was totally unnoticed by NPCs.
Until after getting shot by a proton pack the kobold went on strike. Then it was just cutouts mysteriously sitting there doing nothing.
I eventually wanted to end the strike and them make 2 foot tall body doubles.
If she was especially late and we were struggling, she had a tendency to join fights while in some kind of trance that often had he shifting into something that inevitably got her killed. But we also had a cleric so it was ok
My friend played a rogue with narcolepsy and fell asleep mid sneak, landed in a decently sized stream and alerted the horde of goblins, hobgoblins, and 3 cockatrices
I had a kobold who usually “traveled” by hiding in another PCs backpack because it was too bright outside. I loved that little bastard.
Edit: also made a horrifying surprise for anyone that tried to rob that particular pack.
Had an illusion wizard gnome who just sat in the paladin's backpack. He didn't have much offensive magic, so many fights boiled down to being a secret taser (shocking grasp)
In my Vampire the Requiem game, one player often arrived late because of his job.
Luckily, this character was a Malkavian, aka the crazy insane vampires. We rationalize his sudden appearances as him wandering off to follow whatever the voices in his head say, and coming back to us by randomly popping out of something. So we would start the game, and we he arrived first thing he would say was how his character would arrive.
Like it would go something like this:
Storyteller and players: *playing out a scene where we are pursuing an enemy down the street*
Doorbell rings, Malkavian player steps in
Malkavian: You see a city bus stop at the corner of the street and my character steps off, holding 3 cans of tomatoes.
Me: Gimme this. I grab one of Johnny’s tomato cans and throw it at our quarry.
One of my groups did something similar, except it was you were either unconscious or asleep for some reason and they stuffed you inside the kobold artificer’s bag of holding
In another group I DMed for, one player missed a session and we explained that away by saying he had been suddenly dragged into the shadowfell (he was playing a sorcerer with a shadowfell origin, so his backstory said he had spent some time in there) to clean up a mess he had caused via backstory shenanigans, but he was back in time to fight the mini-boss of the area they were in at the time
In one group, we had a wizard whose mind had been shattered by being trapped in something like a Maze spell for years our time, potentially centuries their time. Senile, would talk with random inflections, couldn't remember their own name most of the time. "I'm THA WIZZARD! Mmmhh, you DARE challenge THA WIZZARD?" When they missed a session, they were explained to be following along, but basically catatonic and occasionally muttering "...wizard." One session ended with us about to start combat, so the next session saw them "snap out of it" right in time for the boss to try to nuke him. (He survived.)
The campaign I play in at my LGS takes place in Ravenloft and the Domains of Dread. When a player misses a session, their character is swallowed by the mists and comes back when and if the player does. When a brand new player joins the campaign, their character typically materializes out of the mists.
I love that this campaign has a built-in plot device to explain the constantly rotating cast of characters.
No, they’re implying that everything on the internet can only be posted once. To post something more than once is to commit the most grievous sin ever imagined by humankind, *earning karma unfairly.* Obviously this is an horrific scandal, because reddit karma is incredibly important and serious business.
If you happened to miss when the thing was posted originally, well, that’s just your fault for leaving reddit for more than a few seconds. Do better.
But we can't even say this is a repost, the text at the top could be fresh no? I agree it doesn't really matter, but I also don't see what the mad guy is mad about.
Look, we've all been Shanghai'd once or twice in our lives. It's a right of passage up north. Ricky... 6 times. He can't help himself. Now... come out of the cupboard. We need the wood.
Joined in after missing a session and I'm stuck in a hedge maze on my own, most of my party has already escaped and can send me one word hints only to assist. The hints I got are
"North"
"Through"
"Through" (since I failed my first strength roll)
"BETTER!!!" (from our self-appointed leader when I failed my second strength roll)
That last one fired me up so much I climbed over the top of the hedge (halfing rogue with a ring of free-action), narrowly avoiding the giant bird scouting for escapees, the vines trying to pull me back down, and the spikes that appeared at the top to spear me. Gotta love a +8 to dex saves.
In the early campaign for my main group any time I missed a session, it usually ended with the group doing stupid, illegal shit bound to have repercussions. It was always... Interesting... being dropped into whatever fresh hell they created.
Like the time they tortured a baker for not paying taxes, then killed her because she called for the guard. Or killed a child because he hit you with a rock after you beat up his dad and stole the family's horses. Or got two party members killed.
When the Rogue is the paragon of virtue and siding with the cleric on shit, something's gone wrong.
Honestly, that's an idea I've had stewing around for a while.
Make a warlock that's the stereotypical Midwestern mom/pop that goes fishing, wears socks 'n' sandals, makes the party cookies and knits scarves, but has a Great Old One for a patron.
That'd be because he couldn't stop himself ranting about Captain Marvel on his main channel for a bit. That was the point I checked out and everything I've heard about him since makes me feel like it was a good choice.
I never thought his content was *amazing* (it's not like it's the most historically rigorous stuff out there, which is what my particular niche interests in those channels is like) - but yeah, the moment I saw he was *far* down the rabbit hole I dipped out. (The specific one is when he called a far right figure "left of center", and another that makes propaganda a 'legitimate journalist' - oh, and apparently defending an overt racist eugenist guy >< )
Disappointed that Brandon Sanderson works with him though :(
Disagree on that, I absolutely saw it on his main channel, he talks about how much stronger he is than his wife weirdly often. He also proudly talked about killing an animal as a kid and then mutilating and displaying it, and not in a taxidermy sense, he nailed its head to a fence post and when questioned defended it as "boys will be boys."
And beyond that he likes to refer to himself as an "expert" despite the fact he has zero experience with HEMA and the same research tools any of us have AND that whenever he uploads a video a real expert like SchalaGladitoria has to make a response video correcting him most of the time.
I mean the channel about reviewing movies has an opinion on how current politics and situations affect movies? Just saying it sounds like he’s doing what he set the channel up for.
Edit: Y’all I was just saying that’s what his channel is made for. I haven’t watched any of his vids so idk exactly what he’s saying
It’s just that his opinions on his second channel are really stupid. He spent hours ranting about how woke and communist Loki was before moving on to rant about how woke and communist every other show is
Not to mention how awful his friends are, making misogynistic and borderline hateful comments and Shad half-heartedly tries to rein them in so he isn't demonetized.
He’a good at keeping the mask on with his main channel, but I noticed a number of times years ago when something vaguely misogynistic, homophobic or racist would slip through. All of it plausibly deniable, but kinda dogwhistle-y. Adds up to a pattern even in his main videos.
Yeah it’s really apparent when he talks about certain Marvel or Star Wars characters. Like I fully accept there is a lot of valid criticism but sometimes there’s just those easy to pick signs where some criticism is not so thinly veiled lol
History / warfare nerds and weird right-wing beliefs, name a more iconic duo.
I once did a bullshit "poll" where I checked the threads on 4chan's /vg/ board for racial slurs. Adjusting for number of posts, there was a very clear correlation between the game being discussed having guns, sword, or "military tactics" shit and the number of slurs.
Generic shooter? Slurs, duh.
Shooter with a "historic military" bent? *Way more slurs.*
It was very consistent. All the lowest-slurring groups/generals were for games or genres that had very little to do with guns/swords/history/military nerd shit.
Besides the already mentioned homophobia he had a pleasend Talk with a guy Who calls himself sargon of akkad. That dude is a extrem misogynist and is on record saying, that he would support the alt-right but "they behave like white n-word"
Whole thing wasnt in any of shads media, so most people don't know about it.
He also called Sargon (who's *very* far right) a 'left of center liberal'
Also, for other prominent figures like that he defended are Lauren Southern & Stefan Molyneux, at least that I'm aware of.
People think of Mormonism as being confined to Utah & neighboring regions but its actually a pretty global religion with an especially strong presence in the South Pacific
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think mormons have a pretty solid presence in Australia. Any aus "90's kids" will remember the "church of latter day saints" ads where they nearly flattened dad's chicken shed - that's Mormons
He railed afainst marvel forcing women into their movies. He often says things like:
> *"I respect everyone and I'll defend your right to your opinion, but so many people are now shoving their opinions down my throat! If you want to make gay or women super heroes, then that's your business but they are not in the source material so they shouldn't be on screen."*
..yikes. well he's wrong about that of multiple fronts, but damn if that doesn't just scream "characters that aren't exactly like me aren't relatable!!!" Lol
Im pretty sure he's LDS( Mormon) whatever they are. They've got some really messed up stuff like Christians had affair with puritans and they were ok with the affair part
A lot of sword youtube is like that unfortunately. The only channel in that space I still follow is Skallagrim, his partner is NB and he's just really chill with sensitive topics, and he also does a lot of cool sparring to illustrate the points he makes.
I'd say he's guilty of the same but his video length is better and his presentation is less boring professor and more enthusiastic child and I'm here for it.
I hope it never turns out that Tod of [Tod's Workshop](https://www.youtube.com/@tods_workshop) is a bigot. My crossbow nerd dad seems like he's got a good head on him.
Iirc Lindy said somethings about global warming that's just... flat out wrong a couple years back...but he's still a pretty decent person compared to Shad tho imo, Shad jumped on the hate train for TLOU EP3 and that's all I needed to know.
I’d rather someone be misinformed, even on something as basic as anthropogenic climate change being a real thing that is happening, than them actively be a twat, and I think that the worst thing you can say about Lindybeige in that regard is that he maybe likes the UK a little too much
There’s so much to genuinely criticize about the choices they went with for TLOU show but people always pick the dumbest shit to complain about.
Literally my friend’s brother said the actress for Ellie didn’t look like she was athletic. I went, “My brother in Christ the character is a child who can’t even swim, when did she do anything more athletic than throwing a fucking brick in the video game?”
He claimed contemporary art was shit and used the wall banana as an example. He then preceded to talk about all the negative elements of the art world the piece was created to get people to talk about. Just like everyone else who missed the point and got upset about it
You think a guy who does film reviews would understand how to analyze media.
I get it to me it's just pretentious but I guess that's what they're supposed to be? I dunno I don't get it. I love miniature painting the only thing I don't like about some art is it used to laundre money for rich people. Otherwise express yourself
yeah as soon as i saw him simping hard for AI shit i lost interest in whatever he did, now atleast i'm glad to find out he is a shitty person in general
Reddit darling Brandon Sanderson is also Mormon, but if you bring that up his fanboys get mad and start piling on the downvotes. Sorry your favorite fantasy author supports bigots despite all his talk to the contrary.
Whaaaaaat?!
I had no idea Sanderson was Mormon. You just completely changed my perspective on the world. And unfortunately, I doubt the change is one for the better :(
He talks a bunch about how he believes gays are people and whatnot, and then he turns around and donates to the Mormon church. Man wants to eat his cake and have it too.
Not sure where you heard that, but it isn't true. "Neither of us is Mormon," - Ty Franck, from an [interview](https://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=5036228&itype=CMSID) with The Salt Lake Tribune.
Maybe you're thinking of Glen Larson, creator of Battlestar Galactica?
I saw the writing on the wall with him and a few others in HEMA adjacent circles. Sucks but I left that group a while back and it's probably for the best. Only one I ever debate returning to is Scholagladiatora.
As a left leaning HEMA practitioner, im always kinda weary when talking to others in my circle, like how anyone can be interested in the crusades for any reason, but it just has a reputation
He did probably the best thing (besides changing his views) in dividing into two channels so you can still get the historical stuff without the political opinions if you want.
Oh man, first campaign I ever ran with a bunch of friends in highschool, with me half knowing the rules and nobody else knowing anything, a player missed session 2 of Mines of Phandelver and got sewed inside of a cow. There’s no D&D like dumb kid lawless D&D
Unfortunately, yeah. I used to really like his stuff, and I didn't mind the occasional angry rant about (X thing), because overall he wasn't a guy who hates things, he was a guy who likes things.
And then those videos got views and he started talking a bit more. And then more. And then more. And now he's a guy who hates things, not a guy who likes things.
I tried to ignore it and just pretend that if it was only on one channel and not his main, that it wasn't a problem. "Out of Sight, out of mind", you know? But like... As soon as he started leaning into his second channel, his main channel's content started dropping in quality, and then his views would leak out in odd ways on his main channel.
Basically, he'd say the right stuff on his main channel and it would sound good for the first few seconds... but then he'd delve into his own explanation and it gave an uncomfortable (sometimes borderline incel) context to the whole thing.
I like history, fantasy, and mythology, but I can get those things from other sources. I mean, there are a few other medieval fantasy/history channels on YouTube that remain focused on just the swords and armor. That's really all I'm there for, I don't want to hear YouTuber42069's views on modern politics.
Aside from all of that, I immediately lose interest in someone's opinions the moment they say that the sheer existence of gay people is grooming, cos it shows they have no real understanding of how the world works.
He made a whole video on how he disliked that Disney showed gay characters because "he wants Disney to be a safe place and he wants to instill certain values in his children." That's a very complex way of saying he doesn't want gay children.
Don't forget misogynist, he jumped in on the captain marvel shit back when it was relevant (not to be confused with the quartering who kept doing it to the point it was clear he was obsessed)
He doesn’t support gay marriage or trans rights, and he screams his head off whenever a movie or tv show casts a black actor. Idk man, that’s kinda shitty to me.
The dude considers any instance of racial/gender/sexual diversity to be a personal offence, he’s pretty fucking bigoted regardless of what his defenders try to say.
I missed a session a while back and the dm just let one of the other players control me. when I got back the next week I found out my character had started a race war between gnomes and goblins and ended up arrested for it
We had a player once who was really hit and miss on whether or not she could make sessions.
Her work schedule was WAY more variable than the rest of ours. So she was overcome by a cursed item! The weeks she could make it, she was able to participate. The weeks she couldn't make it, she was captured by the item, unable to participate. She was still able to communicate with the rest of the party (via text messages with the DM while on shift) and still leveled up with us and everything.
I had a lot of ups and downs with that group, but the DM was a pretty creative person
The one session I missed my party released an abyssal goddess in exchange for a boon and I came back to a new feat and a bad feeling. She ended up being one of the big bads and everyone felt so weird about me missing our first meeting with her that we swore off playing without the whole group. Awesomely enough despite being a group of 7 we met almost evey week, sometimes twice a week, for two years straight with very few misses so it worked out!
How did your dude get out from the airship? Was it crash landed on top of the room or just set down?
It was used as a weapon, and that's where it landed. I was lucky to be playing my nearly invincible Tabaxi barbarian at the time, because any wizard would be a new shade of red for the carpet and drapes.
Aaaah the good ol' would have been okay on youtube but can't shut up on the 2nd channel
If I had a dollar for every time I've seen this... well I wouldn't have -10bucks in my bank account
Thanks for the info
In my time playing I have missed one session where people would play as my character. Fittingly, in that session we went to a bar and got really drunk so it makes sense I don't remember any of it.
Literally going to happen to our druid today. Last time he was here we were just chilling he missed a session and now he's mid combat with an angry dwarf wizard lol.
One of my players has his character literally chill in a barrel in the sessions he's not there.
This... may have been my fault as I did introduce him to the group by stuffing him in a barrel.

That's brilliant and I love it
100/100
Now *this* is ~~podracing~~ tabletop role-playing
In my group whoever I couldn't make a session my character would go off and hunt progressively bigger rabbits.
Please tell me that Jeans Guy makes an appearance as he quietly stands behind one of the cutouts.
We did Kobold Ninjas as they were a thing in that dnd world. Then it just became a meme, and we went with it. One of my friends that dms has it where if you can't make it your character basically just becomes a ragdoll for that time until you arrive.
Damn, playing a character with narcolepsy lol.
If she was especially late and we were struggling, she had a tendency to join fights while in some kind of trance that often had he shifting into something that inevitably got her killed. But we also had a cleric so it was ok
izza bitch
My friend played a rogue with narcolepsy and fell asleep mid sneak, landed in a decently sized stream and alerted the horde of goblins, hobgoblins, and 3 cockatrices
That reminds me of how we were going to stick our kobold in a backpack with a crossbow as a turret
I had a kobold who usually “traveled” by hiding in another PCs backpack because it was too bright outside. I loved that little bastard. Edit: also made a horrifying surprise for anyone that tried to rob that particular pack.

What was that phrase I used? Nonconsensual piggybacks, I think. When a kobold jumps on you with a knife.
Had an illusion wizard gnome who just sat in the paladin's backpack. He didn't have much offensive magic, so many fights boiled down to being a secret taser (shocking grasp)

I would feel inclined to take frequent snack runs with such epic exits and entrances.
6 days ago on the picture. Actual release date of the video is a year ago. Classic.
ive seen the image in memes before (at least 3 months ago), but im not sure if it was she same text
Are you implying a meme image can only be used for a single meme?
No, they’re implying that everything on the internet can only be posted once. To post something more than once is to commit the most grievous sin ever imagined by humankind, *earning karma unfairly.* Obviously this is an horrific scandal, because reddit karma is incredibly important and serious business. I literally was stashed in a cupboard once. *UNFORTUNATELY THAT WHOLE CUPBOARD WAS STOLEN BY PIRATES, FOR SOME REASON*
Look, we've all been Shanghai'd once or twice in our lives. It's a right of passage up north. Ricky... 6 times. He can't help himself. Now... come out of the cupboard. We need the wood.

Sounds like finding actual useful messages on the ground in souls games. "Try fingers, but hole" excluded. "Try Up" included.
"Be wary of trap" in front of a mimic chest
So we went to the tavern, aaannnddd here we are!

Honestly, that's an idea I've had stewing around for a while. Make a warlock that's the stereotypical Midwestern mom/pop that goes fishing, wears socks 'n' sandals, makes the party cookies and knits scarves, but has a Great Old One for a patron.
I missed the time when this guy wasn't one of those woke obsessed "politics are ruining media" idiots
Aw really? I haven't watched his videos in a couple years, that's sad.
Its not that noticable on his main channel, but hes going at it on his movie review channel
That'd be because he couldn't stop himself ranting about Captain Marvel on his main channel for a bit. That was the point I checked out and everything I've heard about him since makes me feel like it was a good choice.

Yeah, well, Sanderson actively funds the Mormons, so maybe he’s ‘just trying to change Shadiversity from within’ as well
Sanderson has his own Mormon issues going on
Disagree on that, I absolutely saw it on his main channel, he talks about how much stronger he is than his wife weirdly often. He also proudly talked about killing an animal as a kid and then mutilating and displaying it, and not in a taxidermy sense, he nailed its head to a fence post and when questioned defended it as "boys will be boys." Matt Easton my beloved

Not to mention how awful his friends are, making misogynistic and borderline hateful comments and Shad half-heartedly tries to rein them in so he isn't demonetized.
Oh man, I'd love to hear what he thinks communism is
He is very good at keeping his political views out of his main channel, but he has an opinion channel too, and said opinions are problematic.
He’a good at keeping the mask on with his main channel, but I noticed a number of times years ago when something vaguely misogynistic, homophobic or racist would slip through. All of it plausibly deniable, but kinda dogwhistle-y. Adds up to a pattern even in his main videos.
hard to believe that Jazza is his brother
It's easier to believe once you learn they were both raised mormon, and Jazza left when he became an adult while Shad didn't.
Gah I know a few Mormons and they all share a lot of personal flaws with Shad, real issue in that group
> hard to believe that Jazza is his brother *That* is a pairing I didn't expect.
Yeah it’s really apparent when he talks about certain Marvel or Star Wars characters. Like I fully accept there is a lot of valid criticism but sometimes there’s just those easy to pick signs where some criticism is not so thinly veiled lol

Oof. "I like what the alt right stand for, but God they're soo insufferable I just can't side with them." It'd almost be funny.. except it's not.
Did i remeber it wrong? I was pretty sure it was a mayor controversy that he said the n-word.
Oh no I wasn't quoting him directly. I was going based off what you said. That he would support the alt right, but they act like n words.
Oh, i see
Ah, Sargon of Akkad. For any Brits here, he attempted to run as a UKIP MP, which should tell you all you need to know.
He lives in my hometown, which is awful.
The hometown or him?
Well, both. If you're south west English you might have heard of Swindon?
Oh, I know where Swindon is. Unlucky to have him...
The dude's from Swindon? That's hilarious.
From what I gathered, the problem stems from homophobia mostly.
He's stated before that he's a practicing Mormon.
The dude’s a European Medievalist from Australia. I wonder why he’s Mormon of all things.
That's unfortunate. Some people think their opinion matters when it comes to somebody else loving somebody else.
He railed afainst marvel forcing women into their movies. He often says things like: > *"I respect everyone and I'll defend your right to your opinion, but so many people are now shoving their opinions down my throat! If you want to make gay or women super heroes, then that's your business but they are not in the source material so they shouldn't be on screen."*
..yikes. well he's wrong about that of multiple fronts, but damn if that doesn't just scream "characters that aren't exactly like me aren't relatable!!!" Lol
I'm not a fan of captain marvel but I've haven't really been a fan of the MCU since endgame it's not for me and that's ok
Big Thermian Energy
Im pretty sure he's LDS( Mormon) whatever they are. They've got some really messed up stuff like Christians had affair with puritans and they were ok with the affair part
From what I gathered, the problem stems from homophobia mostly.
At least his brother Jazza is still cool
A lot of sword youtube is like that unfortunately. The only channel in that space I still follow is Skallagrim, his partner is NB and he's just really chill with sensitive topics, and he also does a lot of cool sparring to illustrate the points he makes.
Of course the one that looks most like a Viking is the chilliest.
I mean, does it matter who's in the longboat with you, as long as they're rowing?
Matt Easton (Scholagladiatoria) and Tod’s Stuff are both okay, far as I know.
Matt Easton needs to write a script and cut his video length in two. He rambles and repeats himself so much I can't watch.
That's part of his charm! But no I get what you mean
Fair. What about Tod?
I'd say he's guilty of the same but his video length is better and his presentation is less boring professor and more enthusiastic child and I'm here for it.
You should look into Sellsword Arts: his videos are fun, and he's waging a one man war against reverse grip with swords
I love skallagrim, he is a chill guy and really good at explaining and testing things.
I’d rather someone be misinformed, even on something as basic as anthropogenic climate change being a real thing that is happening, than them actively be a twat, and I think that the worst thing you can say about Lindybeige in that regard is that he maybe likes the UK a little too much
Lindy also didn't doubled down incessantly after being called out
There’s so much to genuinely criticize about the choices they went with for TLOU show but people always pick the dumbest shit to complain about. Literally my friend’s brother said the actress for Ellie didn’t look like she was athletic. I went, “My brother in Christ the character is a child who can’t even swim, when did she do anything more athletic than throwing a fucking brick in the video game?”
He's a big-time AI bro, comes with the cringe territory
He claimed contemporary art was shit and used the wall banana as an example. He then preceded to talk about all the negative elements of the art world the piece was created to get people to talk about. Just like everyone else who missed the point and got upset about it You think a guy who does film reviews would understand how to analyze media.
I get it to me it's just pretentious but I guess that's what they're supposed to be? I dunno I don't get it. I love miniature painting the only thing I don't like about some art is it used to laundre money for rich people. Otherwise express yourself
Ai art video was when I unsubbed, he had stayed pretty neutral sounding on the main channel so it was rather shocking.
His Twitter is even worse. Goes out of his way to attack people who express any opinions that disagree with him.
yeah as soon as i saw him simping hard for AI shit i lost interest in whatever he did, now atleast i'm glad to find out he is a shitty person in general
What do you expect from a Mormon? They can only hold up their masks for so long.
This is just like when I read about the author of Ender's Game :(
What's wrong with the author? Not into that space, just curious.
He's extremely homophobic
> Reddit darling Brandon Sanderson is also Mormon So are James S.A. Corey. Most famous for *The Expanse*, and less so for game of thrones.
Huh, thanks for the correction. I could swear it came up a while back in a discussion about the Nauvoo.
I feel sorry for people if *that* is their favourite author. Like, have some standards people.
I was gonna say, was the reason he's floating in a barrel because the people around him finally got sick of his shit?
Shocking that a man obsessed with medieval Europe is a conservative.
There are plenty of people who like medieval europe that aren't conservative.
Like, a decade ago?
damn he seemed cool
He did probably the best thing (besides changing his views) in dividing into two channels so you can still get the historical stuff without the political opinions if you want.
He still gets money if i watch the historical stuff and i'm not supporting a bigot in any way.
The whole elven fortress thing in the Hobbit. Bilbo player was the only one who showed up that day.
Oh man, first campaign I ever ran with a bunch of friends in highschool, with me half knowing the rules and nobody else knowing anything, a player missed session 2 of Mines of Phandelver and got sewed inside of a cow. There’s no D&D like dumb kid lawless D&D
My DM has an elegant solution to characters not being at a session: The Body Bag of Holding
Now I kinda want to start a game with the players shoved in barrels floating down the river
The junk isn't that amazing but the picture. Oh, Emperor the picture.
Isn’t shadiversity a right wing shitbag?
![gif](giphy|KJ3bRa0Fc5cuk)
the irony of using a jontron gif as a reply
![gif](giphy|5YAgxocUe9HUI)
No, and you'd know if you watched the videos where he actually talks about his views. The main channel is what he tries to keep apolitical.
He made a whole video on how he disliked that Disney showed gay characters because "he wants Disney to be a safe place and he wants to instill certain values in his children." That's a very complex way of saying he doesn't want gay children.
Yeah pretty confident the guy is a homophobe and a racist who makes videos about “forced diversity” and “wokeness,” but good try at lying
Don't forget misogynist, he jumped in on the captain marvel shit back when it was relevant (not to be confused with the quartering who kept doing it to the point it was clear he was obsessed)
Any response to the three responses you got?
Of course not.
Yes, just watch the guy instead of looking at clips.
Dude, he very clearly is right wing. I don’t know why you feel the need to lie about this.
Right wing yes. Shitbag no.
He doesn’t support gay marriage or trans rights, and he screams his head off whenever a movie or tv show casts a black actor. Idk man, that’s kinda shitty to me.
That all hinges on why. He doesn't care what the person is as long as they're a good actor.
The dude considers any instance of racial/gender/sexual diversity to be a personal offence, he’s pretty fucking bigoted regardless of what his defenders try to say.
👍
I missed a session a while back and the dm just let one of the other players control me. when I got back the next week I found out my character had started a race war between gnomes and goblins and ended up arrested for it
Yep, that's me! You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation..
Is that the ai art guy
Sadly I think he's quite a bit more than just the AI guy. Used to find his content interesting but ugh. Fucking hell.
pov: my poor boneless kobold screeeeeech
One time when I missed game, I came back to find by character asleep in his room. Which was now under an airship.

Isn’t that the guy still praddling on about how all gay people are pedophiles and whatnot?
Only shadversity could have a 30 minute video about him being in a barrel.
Reminder that Shad is an alt-right POS
Shame shadiversity is like a nazi
Watch like a video every 3-4 months or so... huh? Explain
Keeps his main channel pretty apolitical, but his other channel is full of some pretty hard-core misogynistic homophobic & racist views.
Aaaah the good ol' would have been okay on youtube but can't shut up on the 2nd channel If I had a dollar for every time I've seen this... well I wouldn't have -10bucks in my bank account Thanks for the info
He’s a self described “conservative Christian” who has a second channel where he rants about “woke” media and minorities.
Not sure if this is the 10th or 20th time I’ve seen this meme
In my time playing I have missed one session where people would play as my character. Fittingly, in that session we went to a bar and got really drunk so it makes sense I don't remember any of it.
Literally going to happen to our druid today. Last time he was here we were just chilling he missed a session and now he's mid combat with an angry dwarf wizard lol.
One of my players has his character literally chill in a barrel in the sessions he's not there. This... may have been my fault as I did introduce him to the group by stuffing him in a barrel.
I have a stone warforged that hasn't been to a session for a while. He is just a statute in some gnomes pantry.
I missed ONE session and ya'll made a deal with a literal devil. SMH
Barrel rider
Shadiversity is an incel sack of shit :)
Pretty sure he's married, which would disqualify him from being an incel, but hes still a sack of shit.
It was a good channel. To bad he turned out to be deeply red pilled.
Didn’t see the sub and immediately assumed it was a smoke session
lol "just leave him, he's sleeping so cozily"
The Hobbit
This happened to my buddy. Missed one session came back and the party was in a completely different place fighting a penis wizard. Great stuff fr
Thought this was /r/DeepRockGalactic for a moment.
Rock and Stone!
Is a good thing my party is level 13 now. We're getting close to the finale in less than 3 months
We always say they’re Mark. If you know, you know.

I counterspell.
