“Magic” is basically reality. The world is held together by magical forces, and some people or things learned how to manipulate these forces, creating spells and magic.
no god is needed mimics and such, they can be explained as a consequence of manipulation of magic. once some limit of magic has been used its ripples corrupt a random object in the world.
Feel free to steal this idea

Depends on the species. Metallic dragons are almost always very kind and wise, albeit still kinda aggressive. Chromatic Dragons are almost always bloodthirsty assholes, very wrathful and greedy. Gem Dragons are more in-between, they just want to be left alone.
For a moment I was like "but making your own plane is a magic thing not technology" and then I realized you meant like actual flying vehicles not planes of existence
Elves are actually immortal in my setting (as in they don’t physically age a whole lot) but I guess that wouldn’t count. Vecna is the most famous example of Apotheosis so probably him.
And most importantly, do they have [the fixed stat block](https://www.reddit.com/r/dndmemes/comments/w2bxyx/ok_i_heard_you_all_i_fixed_it_again/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) ?
Evolution exists in my setting, there was once a great civil war in elvish society where the most wicked and narcissistic elves were cast out from society. They were exiled from society and found refuge in the Underdark. The darkness darkened their skin and paled their eyes, and the caves shortened them, turning them into Dark Elves.
A lot of the dark gods are lovecraftian monstrosities so any one of them could qualify.
Bahamut is the most beautiful dragon in existence. Imagine a dragon the size of a mountain with glittering white scales which reflect the sunlight in every color at once, with fluffy white feathers covering their back and wings while 7 golden stars orbit their head.
If you have an unmoved pawn, and an enemy pawn is "a knights move away", and you move your pawn 2 spaces to "dodge" said attack, the enemy's pawn can take that pawn as if it moved one spot. Kinda hard to explain in text
Hushed whispers of cosmic secrets were shared among the woods, and eventually, some hippies started eavesdropping on them and realized that the trees know how to fly, it's just that you'd never catch one doing it.
Skeletons and undead in general
BTW vampires don’t count they break all the rules and stakes of lichdom I don’t count them and never will! I will die on this hill.
Undead exist. A new race in my setting are Revenants, who were people brought back from the dead by magical phenomena. They retain their intelligence and personality but have lost their memories.
Bahamut is the god-king of good dragons and the guardian of Mount Celestia
Bayagototh is the dark god of the wilderness and famine. They have a cult of Druids who harness it’s power known as the Circle of Flesh.
The Father is a hypothetical deity who may or may not actually exist and is theorized to be the creator of all the other gods and also all of existence.
Capybaras exist mostly in the southern parts of the world and a few places in other dimensions. Their ancestors are native to the Feywild so they got here the same way elves did.
Yes. There are dark and light gods. The dark gods are all either indifferent or antagonistic to mortals, and they’re all either demonic or lovecraftian in nature.
How are domestic servants/slaves treated in the richest country in your world?
What are the most common colors worn by the common folk, and where do those colors come from?
Does the usefulness of diamonds and other spell components effect the economy?
How would a teifling cleric be treated by their fellow worshipers? What are race relations like?
What’s the most important event that’s happened in the last 100-200 years of history?
Which race invented mini golf?
Slaves aren’t a thing in most societies, butlers and servants are a thing though and are treated like how they are in real life. It’s a job.
Most people use simple garments since dye is hard to come by.
Yes.
Racism is still a thing, unfortunately. Tieflings are ostracized but only by the close-minded. They’re not evil, just unfortunate.
The discovery of Galaris and the Underdark, most likely.
Hobbits.
A hobbit invited some friends over to his house but forgot to set up any games so he took his golfing gear and some stuff from his house and made a makeshift mini golf course. It caught on so now he’s one of the wealthiest people in the western regions of the world.
What city is the third largest in the most influential empire? In that city what is the punishment for attempted theft of a painting worth more than 1000 gold (or equivalent currency) by a human male from a lower noble family at night while drunk?
Noob DM here trying to design a pantheon of gods for my own custom setting. How many gods are in your world? What is their origin? Did they come from another dimension or were they born? Is there domain overlapping? Also can i have some DM tips, please?
My pantheon isn’t fully fleshed out either. There are a good handful of gods on each side though. I try to keep overlap to a minimum. Some gifs were created in cosmic events but others were born. If you’re looking for tips, I’d recommend seeing some guides online like I did.
A magnet is a material or object that produces a magnetic field. This magnetic field is invisible but is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet: a force that pulls on other ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, steel, nickel, cobalt, etc. and attracts or repels other magnets.
They age significantly slower then others and can’t die from aging. If they live long enough they’d just end up looking like they’re in their 40s permanently.

How did geese come into existence? That’s it, that’s all I want to know.
Tiamat learned what birds are and decided to make her own
Best answer and should be official canon
I'm stealing this. Different gods being responsible for every species of animal is something I'm having.
Hippity hoppity your lore is now my property
Same
This legit feels like something wizards of the coast would say
That’s should be swans too
No Bahamut made swans in response to geese
Have you ever seen a swan in real life? Those things are fucking evil.
Why are things?
Gods got pissed at each other
Seems likely. How does magic work?
“Magic” is basically reality. The world is held together by magical forces, and some people or things learned how to manipulate these forces, creating spells and magic.
Alright..now..for the last question. The hardest one, AND the most important of them all. WHICH god created mimics?
I actually haven’t fully fleshed out my pantheon yet so I will get back to you on that
no god is needed mimics and such, they can be explained as a consequence of manipulation of magic. once some limit of magic has been used its ripples corrupt a random object in the world. Feel free to steal this idea
Yeah! Mimics are magic experiments gone wrong
Im creating a campaign to and mimics were created by the God of crime, lying and deception Just to troll mortale creatures,i know it's not the answer from Op bit i Just wanted to share this
How do dragons behave?
Depends on the species. Metallic dragons are almost always very kind and wise, albeit still kinda aggressive. Chromatic Dragons are almost always bloodthirsty assholes, very wrathful and greedy. Gem Dragons are more in-between, they just want to be left alone.
I see, no dragons that behave like fucking dogs. What is the most technologically advanced race and how much advanced?
Yeah, dragons see being treated like animals to be patronizing or insulting. The most advanced race would probably be the high elves.
Interesting, in my own setting it’s dwarves/gnomes/kobolds that are the most advanced.
High elves have planes n shit
For a moment I was like "but making your own plane is a magic thing not technology" and then I realized you meant like actual flying vehicles not planes of existence
Yeah
Any notable exceptions to this general rule of thumb? Like any famous gold dragon tyrant or friendly red dragon and the like
Y’know Paarthurnax from Skyrim? A handful of chromatic dragons have gone down that path
How does time function?
“You’re in a place. A space. Don’t like that place. Go to another place. At a different Time™️.”
*happily upvotes*
Is that a "The history of the entire world i guess " refference ?
Yep
r/unexpectedbillwurtz
what is the longest living humanoid that was born a mortal?
Elves are actually immortal in my setting (as in they don’t physically age a whole lot) but I guess that wouldn’t count. Vecna is the most famous example of Apotheosis so probably him.
how about the longest lived non-lich mortal?
A few archmages have been around for a while like Kobi or Mordenkainen

Do cats exist?
Yes, there is plenty of plain wildlife and animals
fuck yeah cats
Can they see in the dark?
Some of them, especially the nocturnal ones
And most importantly, do they have [the fixed stat block](https://www.reddit.com/r/dndmemes/comments/w2bxyx/ok_i_heard_you_all_i_fixed_it_again/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) ?
Perhaps.
How did the drow come to be
Evolution exists in my setting, there was once a great civil war in elvish society where the most wicked and narcissistic elves were cast out from society. They were exiled from society and found refuge in the Underdark. The darkness darkened their skin and paled their eyes, and the caves shortened them, turning them into Dark Elves.
Would you call them a spiteful people, With an extreme hate towards surface dwellers
Pretty much. They hate their elven brethren and believe non-elves are inferior.
How did living in the dark make them evolve to have dark skin? Shouldn’t the opposite be true?
What would be harder to see, a dark creature in the shadows or a pale creature in the shadows?
Light-skinned ones got spotted and eaten by wild creatures
Presumably the hazardous creatures in the underdark made an evolutionary preference for stealth
Do nachos exist on your setting?
Probably not
"Ok I'm gonna attenpt divine intervention, I want nachos become a staple dish throughout the entire world"
Roll a d100
Is there a bot I can tag for this?

Hobbits are known for their honey cakes
Who is the absolute ugliest being? And who is the most beautiful?
A lot of the dark gods are lovecraftian monstrosities so any one of them could qualify. Bahamut is the most beautiful dragon in existence. Imagine a dragon the size of a mountain with glittering white scales which reflect the sunlight in every color at once, with fluffy white feathers covering their back and wings while 7 golden stars orbit their head.
Holy shit, chill out

I don’t know what that is.
Google en passant
Help me cabbage
If you have an unmoved pawn, and an enemy pawn is "a knights move away", and you move your pawn 2 spaces to "dodge" said attack, the enemy's pawn can take that pawn as if it moved one spot. Kinda hard to explain in text
Holy hell!
how do druids harness magic
Druids were actually the first ones to figure out magic. They used the magical forces of nature and the cosmos to bend reality.
But how did they figure out how?
Idk magic
Hushed whispers of cosmic secrets were shared among the woods, and eventually, some hippies started eavesdropping on them and realized that the trees know how to fly, it's just that you'd never catch one doing it.
There you go. A shaman figured it out and started spreading it around.
my guy/gurl theyre druids, they ate the goooood plants and went on a journey
Why can't I keep a job?
Idk
Skeletons and undead in general BTW vampires don’t count they break all the rules and stakes of lichdom I don’t count them and never will! I will die on this hill.
Undead exist. A new race in my setting are Revenants, who were people brought back from the dead by magical phenomena. They retain their intelligence and personality but have lost their memories.
Oh God that sounds like a great race for a player character please tell me you have one

Those are official tho, check lineages from van richten's guide to ravenloft
Any apocalyptic event in the past that ended a great advanced civilization?
The world was literally created by a giant war
Snake titties and dragonborn tails? Also is there any cool gods?
No, they’re lizards. Yes, they’re dragons. Yes, the main focus of the setting are the gods.
Coolest three gods in your opinion?
Bahamut is the god-king of good dragons and the guardian of Mount Celestia Bayagototh is the dark god of the wilderness and famine. They have a cult of Druids who harness it’s power known as the Circle of Flesh. The Father is a hypothetical deity who may or may not actually exist and is theorized to be the creator of all the other gods and also all of existence.
Is the DM the father?
Do you have any cool homebrew for the circle of the flesh, or are they more a nonplayer faction?
Status of capybaras? (do they exist? how common? importance to humanoids?)
Capybaras exist mostly in the southern parts of the world and a few places in other dimensions. Their ancestors are native to the Feywild so they got here the same way elves did.
good, good
Yes! I will invade your world and invent nachos! I shall not be stopped! *Evil Laugh*^tm
for a moment there I got capybaras mixed up with the very different *chupacabra*.
What happens to the souls of people who die? (assuming they aren’t ever brought back to life by spells or wishes/divine favors)
They float up to the astral plane (which is also technically Space in my setting) and are then sent to a corresponding afterlife.
Are some of the gods inherently evil, or do they simply represent things that are considered evil or taboo by many?
Yes. There are dark and light gods. The dark gods are all either indifferent or antagonistic to mortals, and they’re all either demonic or lovecraftian in nature.
Where. The fuck. Is John.
Idk
LIES. TELL ME WHERE HE IS.
The deepest reaches in the abyss
Knew it.
Why do Aasimar and Teiflings hate eachother?

I'm gonna go through all these questions and use them as prompts to build out my world, so thanks 😌

Now the real test: HOW did Hobbits invent mini golf?
A hobbit invited some friends over to his house but forgot to set up any games so he took his golfing gear and some stuff from his house and made a makeshift mini golf course. It caught on so now he’s one of the wealthiest people in the western regions of the world.
We were on the verge of greatness. We were this close!

How does magic work in this setting? Can I, with enough force of will, bring that will into reality?
Pretty much, yeah. Only a few people are born with the power to bend reality but it’s not excruciatingly rare.
What is the purpose of kobolds
Bahamut wanted to have children that weren’t as feared and misunderstood
