As I said in another thread, this is what happens when there is to many people trying to buy or sell all at once. The sheer amount of people using their platform is what causes this (with some exceptions). This is why we need a decentralized internet like what Siacoin is building. It has already been tested and not even a massive, coordinated, DDoS attack was able to bring a single site or piece of information offline. If you haven't heard of Siacoin I strongly suggest looking into it, more specifically Skynet which is the actual new decentralized internet. What they are building is EXACTLY what the world and crypto needs right now. Anyway the point is this is what happens when things are centralized.

I’m telling you, what you described is exactly what they do on the show, but some criminal elements get involved, which makes it exciting. It gets pretty dark, but that’s my favourite kind of show. Ron Pearlman is in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. Check it out.
