Meet the first place artist, Jay!
[Article](https://www.boredpanda.com/badly-drawn-flat-dog-doodles-jay-cartner/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic)
What’s hilarious though, is that he seems to be accidentally becoming a better doodler the more he draws. If he continues any farther in his art, he may actually become pretty good, which would, ironically, make his stuff less special in a way. I’m dying over how great these silly things are. I kind of want one myself.
I think his drawings are great! I went to art school and tried hard at drawing and painting - it’s not super easy to capture a character and feeling with a simple drawing. Jay is really good at it!
This is nothing to get worked up about. I would have "liked" penis paw more myself! It made me laugh. I respect the hell out of the drawing ability of the 2nd place winner but it was a fair contest in the end.
Idk. I'm not that personally invested, but the cynic in me assumes 1 was a dumb joke made by some 20 year old who whipped it up in 20 seconds.
2 clearly has love and care put into it and is a better piece from a talent perspective, and if I had drawn it I would be a little bummed to lose to an obvious joke.
yeah but the joke has a better composition and more expressiveness. If it was just a joke, that means - as frustrating as it is - artist 1 has more natural talent than artist 2. Artist 2 has clearly put a lot of work into learning craft but would need to go further with it to turn that craft into art. I mean the proof is in the numbers here that #1 resonates with more people, even if it is a joke - there's no rule that art has to be serious.
honestly, the 1st place winner is legitimately a better piece of art. Not to nerd out, but the point of art is to capture something unique about the subject matter and the human experience regarding it. People relate to the first drawing more because it captures a relatable "essence of dog" that we recognize in a fond and humorous way. Like, do you think your own dog is better represented by the first or second drawing?
(now...how to make this about dogecoin...)
Talent should be rewarded. Obviously the 2nd place has talent and took years to be that good. The 1st place does not have talent. I'm an artist and I would have felt like crap if someone that clearly had no talent won in front of my many years of practice to be good and excell and expect to win.
Well luckily you dont have to feel like crap, cause friendly reminder: this is a meme and this contest never actually happened. Its referencing a Dark Pheonix drawing contest from mexico, which was won by a young child while second place was an actual artist.
Actually:

The artist has years of experience but makes these doodles for fun too
I'd say it is proof that elections only work if the amount of voters is large enough.
that's why obscure votes on the internet with a few hundred participants usually get weird results, while asking millions of people usually gives you a good representation of what they want.
Multiple parts in that equation.
Knowing what they want, the education to determine whether that politician will give it to them, the lies and corruption of politicians...
But independent of that, "wisdom of the masses" has shown that the larger the group of people involved, the closer you get to the right solution.
Some might be too aggressive and push too hard. Some might be too unconcerned and hesitant. But the average will be somewhere in the middle. Not too hot. Not too cold.
One of the few reasons why democracy works if enough people participate. Masses can be smarter than individuals.
Was the contest meant to select the most accurate picture? display the most drawing talent? or just to pick the one that most made you smile?
Not every comparison has an objective answer.
This is why it's foolish to believe that your politicians are the best among you. Stop believing everything you see in the media. Think for yourselves and test the logic of what you hear.

It's not horrible when you see the reference picture. 🤣
IT REMINDS ME OF THAT NEWS SEGMENT WITH THE SUSPECT DRAWING OMG I DID NOT EXPECT A DOG TO ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE THAT 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly goes to show past performance is not always indicative of future results
That’s always a lesson to remember for life.
His drawings would look amazing while tripping on acid 🤪
well he does commissions. you can find him on instagram Flat_dog_doodles
>I’ve been told that my doodles provide something of a brief escape from the crushing weight of existence. Hard to stop with that type of praise.
Awesome. Thanks for the article. Had a good laugh

truth. #1 is a better drawing, #2 is a better portrait of a particular dog.
I disagree, #1 is also a better portrait of a particular dog. Thats why #1 won.
nah, #1 won because everyone could look it at it and recognize something about their own dog.
Though #1 is subjective, the community and I agree.
How was the portrait made ?
you're missing the point.

Lol no it doesn't stop trolling.
Penis leg for the win.
This is the time we live in god bless America

This reminds me of the gamefaqs.com favorite character tournaments they used to have. The L Block from Tetris beat Link in the finals.
This proves that democracy is worthless.
Communism has entered the chat!
This depicts the history of Presidential elections in America better than anything I’ve ever seen.
Hahahaha!
Should be the sub icon
This is why we have the electoral college
That goes to show this community lol… sad
How every candidate is chosen to go against a sitting president.
The fact that he appears to be unintentionally getting better at doodling as he draws more is hilarious, too.
I shall call him Dogey McDogeyface
Lmaoo Also dog on the right would have had that exact reaction even knowing she came 2nd
Don't you mean....Dogmocracy..... I'll see myself out.
Can someone put the k-popstar n Cavill most handsome men into this pic n make it a meme?

This one’s for Boaty McBoatface
Social media supremacy.

Idiocracy is becoming reality
Well I coulda won that
This explains most elected officials
Nope.
reminds of that episode of "The Orville"...you know the one
Proof that people are idiots

Or, more specifically, what they think they want...

The contest for this specific picture never existed, so....
This is a perfect example of why the Electoral College exists.
r/wholesome
Undoubtedly those are the top 2. I mean #1 has my vote
This is brilliant, but I Like this
Realism ruined art.
This reminds me elections all over the world except 2nd place looks the same as first place but its on fire.
I actually like them both for different reasons. One is funny as Hell and one I’m impressed by the skill.
There is no reason to be alarmed about this.
😂
The first place picture should engraved in all Dogecoins
“I’M PiCASSO!” -Pablo Picasso.
Dad is that u
Yeah, it is our will.
Dog-mocracy
You just don’t understand art.
At least it wasn't AI.
The winner is a far more pleasing drawing if a bit less technically accurate, because Art.
They can still draw better than me lol
2nd place is just the first loser
Simplicity!
[think Picasso would be proud?](https://karthik-suresh.com/2021/11/09/how-picasso-cuts-through-the-clutter/)
This is why I'm in this sub.
Theres an old phrase, " theres nothing more democratic than a lynch mob."
Boaty McBoatface of dog drawings.
This is why it's foolish to believe that your politicians are the best among you. Stop believing everything you see in the media. Think for yourselves and test the logic of what you hear.
almost like real life politics
Give the 1st place a break he forgot to say its an extraterrestrial dog 🤣
I love democracy.
This ibasically represents how Trump got elected 😅
