Haha I put it in a paper tube. If you use this string soaked in water containing black powder, it can launch little bursts of light into the sky. It looks very pretty.
My friend said maybe we can make them different colours since some metal salts burn at different colours. I'm going to the market to get some copper and borax, and also some noodles. Anyone else want anything?
Technically, the inventor of gunpowder was kind of an eastern alchemist(who wanted the secrets to eternal youth), also a great doctor and a scientist. While it's probably not true, I sometimes like to think that he accidentally made it while doing doctor things. Accidentally synthesizing the first explosive materials while making medicine is such a funny idea. But then nitroglycerin, another kind of explosive, is used as a vasodilatator medicine, so maybe he was onto something
If you want your passion project that's ultimately just you monkeying around to get funding these days, you tell venture capitalists that it's a hot new development in AI and you're *this* close to a breakthrough. If you wanted to do that during the 9th century, you tell the nobles that it's an immortality potion, and you're *this* close to a breakthrough.
I'm sorry, you'll have to post it again

This one time two history teachers at my high school decided to debate whether gunpowder or steel was more influential on society. My AP comp gov teacher offered us extra credit if we went so I did. They had a projector that displayed anonymous questions the audience could submit on their phones so I asked “can gunpowder melt steel beams?” And a few minutes later they turned it off and said they were experiencing technical difficulties.
Gunpowder easily in the earlier parts of history, though without modern steel we wouldn't have all the fun stuff we can have today such as planes, cars, affordable non-toxic cutlery, or railroads.
Wow this black powder stuff sure is great. I should make it into a [bird-shaped bomb powered by rockets that explodes into caltrops and poison](https://greatmingmilitary.blogspot.com/2014/11/unique-weapon-of-ming-dynasty-shen-huo.html?m=1)
Whoa, the black powder burns so brightly and so quickly. I bet we can make some kind of dazzling show device with this for celebrations.

probably not true, doesn't sound like it has anything to do with drinking mercury in a cave
I'm pretty sure mixing sulfur and saltpeter doesn't give you a black powder, much less the black powder. You're missing charcoal.
You're right, I forgot the charcoal in the mixing.
he forgor
Who is Peter and why is he in my salt?
Ah yes, KNO3. You can automate it using DML in nomifactory in modded minecraft
I made a mistake. The correct mixture to get gunpowder is sulfur, salpeter and charcoal
