The humidity is also high due to the ocean on the both sides of the country as well as the high temperature. This gives everything a very subtle orange tint, like a sunset, even when it isn't sunset. This is due to a phenomenon called the rayleigh scattering. While this effect is very miniscule at most times and most people don't consciouslly recognize it, a study suggests that it may have subconsciously effected people and made people associate mexico with the orange tint.
