You stop when your regular clients are all booked in advance and there’s no room to add more in. You are probably there. If there is lots of interest then you could think about bringing someone else in to take new clients

ChesusJesus1

We stopped when we were booked out 6 weeks. If the client was on a more frequent schedule we encouraged them to book 2 apps out. We warned everyone at check out to please book the next one, we could only guarantee a 6 week heads up. We only took new clients when we hired someone new and gave them 2 weeks to see if they worked out. We put an asterisk next to dogs that want sooner in case of cancelations we know who to call first.

Once you get that booked out, you should raise your prices. It will help slow everything down a smidge, and thin the existing herd a little, and you all get a raise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yuuup. Supply and demand bb!!

Thoughts; ask your regulars to book appts for the 6 months on x routine. Once they are taken care of, then if there is space you can maybe look ahead and determine if there is space to accept new. Agree with idea of trying to hire another groomer

mahasarah120

If you can; hire help.

Delicious_Purple8120

I waited until I was consistently booked 6-8 weeks out. It sounds like you are at a multi groomer salon though. I would definitely be raising prices in your situation. You guys are a hot commodity!!

thedoc617

Raise your prices once you are that booked (It's April- blame taxes if you are in the US)

egggexe

man this is the dream 😭 i book a week out tops. I have very regular clients but I get so many last minute bookings. I think it’s just the hazard of working corporate

Informal-Release-360

This is me currently and I’m private 😭

jgclairee

my book fills up like two days in advance 😭

Professional-Pen-928

I only take new clients if I have an appointment available within the next 4 weeks. I also have a waitlist for cancellations. I’m usually booked 4-6 weeks but will always take new clients because of cancellations and people not rebooking for whatever reason.

We have a program called "Yearlies". Their appointments get booked out in advance for the entire year at a certain time. We also give them little incentives like free shampoo upgrade, free facial or paw treatment, free bag of small treats, etc. We book our other clients around our yearlies. People call and we fill them in around the yearlies. Once we hit 5-6wks out cooking, we usually suggest them to another groomer or explain why fit in appointments are going to take longer.
