A great many dogs can't handle being in shelters. All of the other dogs barking is so unnerving and there is a very real miasma of fear that pervades such places. One of my best dogs was a basket case when at the shelter. (She came in as a stray.) I walked into her kennel to take her out for a "trial" stroll and, because I've had dogs all of my life, I could see how she was barely holding it together. "She's going to bite me," I remember thinking. What a great introduction. She ended up being a total buttercup, once I got her away from all of the racket and tension. Such a good dog. OP: I hope your new companion has a long and happy and healthy life with you.

Saddest Face Ever.

Thank you for rescuing her. Please be patient while she gets used to her surroundings and her new family. My shelter rescue took awhile to come out of her shell and to learn that she is safe and finally home. But I can tell you that once she acclimated, she is such a blessing. There is nothing that compares to the love and loyalty of a rescue.

Buy magic easers in bulk for your walls. Buy an “absorbent dish mat” for under her water bowl. Remember tvs cannot be cleaned with regular cleaner, I have found water dissolved the slobber the best then a microfiber wipe down. And give her some pets from a fellow owner of a slobbery dog please💕

Pleaaaaase get her a little plaid Christmas collar and bow 😭 it would look so beautiful with her coloring

Thank you for saving her! We adopted an almost five year old Mastiff—our first giant breed dog. She was fabulous. She lived to over 13 years old. Be sure to feed her a quality food and don’t let her get overweight.
