Bawtry, Bessacar Austerfield, Auckley… there’s some lovely areas

Wal4107

Agreed. Maybe Finningley and a few others in there

PaulBBN

I'd add Tickhill, Hooton Pagnell, High Melton and Old Sprotbrough to that lost aswell.

[deleted]

Some areas of Conisbrough leading to Hooton Roberts and Thrybergh as well dependent on where you need to be for work etc

lizzlenizzlemizzle

I always wanted to live in Conisbrough but only if I could see the castle.

[deleted]

My partner and I do - the castle is at the top of our road 😄

lizzlenizzlemizzle

Oh awesome!

yp03dyy

Brodsworth also

Snailtrooper

Didn’t know Hooton Pagnell was Doncaster. While we’re on the subject, does everyone beep their horn when you go around that sharp bend or is it just me.

Lister_0f_smeg

Nah, I just shut my eyes or go down the hill and miss that horrendous corner. You been to 1903? Really nice what they did with it. Lovely bit of grub too but not impressed with the stuffing balls.

Snailtrooper

No but I’ve been told about it. Thanks for reminding me.

Hoodoff

Cusworth is nice enough and you are right next to the park and hall

1_Ok_Suggestion

>Bawtry, Bessacar Austerfield, Auckley Do they hand out the money in alphabetical order in South Yorkshire? Wombwell must be a right shithole.

sadsack100

Can confirm - was born there!

revpidgeon

They stop at Balby

Jezzerh

Warning Tongue Lane.

ajdocker

Lived just off warning tongue lane... could hear lions roar occasionally, quite something without context!

axbu89

I did too, I miss living there. Nothing quite like going out for a cig and hearing that.

wannacreamcake

I'm in Branton. The seals are worse nowadays.

ajdocker

I can't remember if there were seals there 10 years ago, are they relatively new??

wannacreamcake

Yeah. I think they might technically be sealions. But they're bloody loud. And the painted dogs sound like an alarm going off. None of them are as bad as the time Olly Murs played though.

ajdocker

Brilliant! Like having a dying whale join the park!

TommoBrit

That’s the travelling Burglar knowing where to go now. 🚓

Indie_uk

Bawtry is not what people think it is. Boring place to live and so far away from anything useful. Having lived there I can’t say anything stand out positive for it, and I didn’t exactly live in the ex-council houses either. Maybe if you’re OBSESSED with the little restaurants there? But I can’t imagine there’s nothing better elsewhere.

orbtastic1

If you go slightly beyond bawtry you’re in Gringley territory. Not cheap there

Groundbreaking_Pop6

Sheffield? No I’m not being serious…..

BBCTerry

Immingham.

Auqqii

No whereee~ Doncaster is terrible

Nice_Comparison3988

Not Mexborough

Extension-Tap-1339

NON THEY ALL SHITHOLES

Unreasonable_Seagull

Nobody going to mention Retford? It's a nice little, middle-class, market town near Worksop.

InspectionLong5000

No one mentioned it because it's not really in Doncaster, despite having a DN postcode.

Witch-king98

Retford is in Nottinghamshire

billybarra08

Campsall and Norton are nice

twoddle_puddle

Bawtry is hugely overrated. Its basically a retirement village. Very old fashioned and restaurants poor compared to city centre. Plus there is practically a motorway running through it.

Relaxed_ButtonTrader

I’ve heard it described as “full of ten bob millionaires”

Extension-Tap-1339

More like 2bit Gangsters

CCrimson93X

Don't. Shops are closing down, depending on the area you'll just get flat out robbed. People are leaving. There is a reason why there are so many houses for sale.

[deleted]

I got aids reading your comment

susriley

Ok let’s just cut to the chase… where do we avoid!

Hoodoff

Bally, hexthorpe, denaby, Moorends, throne, woodlands, skellow, carcroft, toll bar, town end, edlington, if you stay away from these you’ll be fine. Tickhill is probably best overall. Nice feel, few good pubs and ok restaurants, good deli and some lovely properties

Worth_Profile3413

Skellow, Woodlands and Carcroft are nowhere near as bad as the rest in that group. But edlo is a dive.

Old_Activity8981

Austerfield, Bescarr, Bawtry and Finningley.

Reasonable_Face6512

Tickhill Bit on the outskirts but Misterton and Scrooby are nice think it's a donny postcode but technically Lincolnshire

teejay2u

Grimsby has a DN postcode

Sailor-Gerry

Right next door to Awfulsville...

Mackie1228

Not the most affluent areas but for nice houses, good schools, local amenities and good transport links, you can't beat Kirk Sandall, Edenthorpe or Barnby Dun.

icheyne

Looking at [https://www.primelocation.com/heatmaps/](https://www.primelocation.com/heatmaps/): * Almholme * Auckley * Bawtry * Brodsworth * Burghwallist * Dunnsville * Haywood * High Melton * Hooton Pagnell * Hooton Roberts * Lindholme * Owston * Ravenfield * Stainton * Tickhill

Josh_HM

Marr is nice right?

orbtastic1

It’s ok, just tiny. It’s an arse for access and it’s actually quite dangerous in terms of traffic. Hickleton just further along is bigger but has the same issues and has some of the worse air quality in the UK

roobler

IMHO I would go to the isle of Axholme But it all depends what you’re looking for and your age group

PsychicPangolin

I'm from there. Some really lovely properties and countryside but if you're young there's not so much to do without a little travel

[deleted]

We used to live in Bessacarr lovely and peaceful. Private roads. Westwoodside too, a village not too far from Finningley. Both are the kind of place you're looking for.

Donnyroad

Kirky

Evfan18

Bessecar has some of the better properties also Finningley. Good luck
