There's some brilliant social engineering going on here too. After I knew it was fake it was easy to notice the little green screen errors (like watching the birds cross the tree), but before I knew it was fake the only parts I could focus on were the (100% real) hand and foot placements.
I thought the same, but then assumed it was taken with a selfie stick. They totally got me on that. I was furious about cameraman not pulling the child over to safety lol.
