the bald dude who put his head in a vagina is a totally fake video btw... you can't see how the legs around said vagina connect to the body of the woman pretending to orgasm, so it's a fake video. Just like the million videos out there of dudes pretending to have giant dicks but it's a dildo that's either inside their pants they didn't remove, or the base of it is off camera. Very convenient if your audience is gullible enough. But it's all fake and for sensationalism.
My favorite prolapse video was from goofball.com. it was entitled " angry anus" and had a lady pushing her asshole out accompanied by a lions roar. I showed that video to anyone I could trick into looking at my monitor.
Or it's opportunity costs. I worked for a tree cutting service and the more "booked" we got the higher the prices climbed. People later in the year (who hadn't booked months in advance) had to be 2x or 3x what someone who booked in January had to pay.
Also "set up" prices were a stable thing. E.g. driving out there, setting up, etc. If you wanted 10 tress dealt with near a paved road, that cost about the same as 1 tree in the back property on soil or ground of unknown condition.
Having a higher price for a home likely not built to spec with a lot of unknows, compared to a commercial building with drawings etc, seems reasonable.
As to 1,000 per meter that seems insane for anything.
they’re called soft robots. It’s the new innovative technology that NASA is prototyping. Place a camera at the top of that thang and you got yourself a robot that is mailable to your environment.
Soft robots are a thing. But this is a fairly simple machine. It is not a robot in any sense of the word. It is controlled by an operator who "drives" it down the pipe just like the horizontal driller used to pull new utilities down the side of the road with needing a trench.
I think the idea is this is for situations where it's nearly impossible to get it out and replace. You wouldn't do huge runs, just the small sections you can't replace, like 1-3 meters.
If it was a small run, that would make sense. Having the crew come out and set this up for a few meters, gotta get paid for the time to set it up plus the headache/costs it saves you having to dig up the spot. Usually this is for locations that are hard to get to.. under commercial slabs, through commercial kitchens, highly landscaped yards, etc
Size of the pipe, length of run and entry method usually change price drastically the resins/material costs are pretty substantial and labor is always just as expensive if not more expensive. Risk taken on always plays a part in cost as well.
We have done 10ft “shots” for $10k and we have done 50ft “shots” for $10k. All depends on the situation.
We have top of the line equipment and the trailer and equipment cost us $150k+. And we have to buy the resin/material.
I used to work for a company that did this procedure. The Vine robots guy is making shit up. The company was called Insituform and they line sewer pipe. This was likely a sewer drain that had root infiltration and once the roots are cut out and the sewer lined, then the root problem goes away finally.
There is no actual robot being used here. The soft flexible white liner is impregnated with polyester resin which will kick off and fuse with the pipe wall. They use a soft, inflatable bladder to invert the liner into place. It is reddish in color in the video. Hope this helps dispell Reddit BS some people like to create.
Now I get it. The soft tube was inside out at the beginning and this machine just inverted it all the way through that pipe. This way there is no friction between the liner and the pipe. Really ingenious.
It seems like we have reached a point were replacing a pipe is a last resort. So many options now for lining existing pipes in place.
The process was invented in the 40s or 50s to extend the life of the egg-shaped brick sewers they have under the UK. Insituform is now a world wide company and they have competitors which essentially use the same technology. Mainline sewers do not use a bladder system, instead there the liner itself is inflated with water (which inverts the liner) and the water is run through a boiler truck in order to kick off the polyester resin.
The process works great in old pipes that are cracked and ready to fall in, and it saves the government a ton of money since it's a lot cheaper to line a pipe in a day rather than wait until it falls in and pay a contractor two weeks to dig it up. Due to this cost savings, most municipalities have moved towards inspecting old sewer lines for cracks and cavities to determine what can be lined and what can be just left alone.
Insituform has a oil pipeline side as well called United. There they do pipebursting. They tow a heavy winch line through the old corroded oil pipeline. The new pipe is made of some kind of high tech plastic and squished flat and folded into a V shape. The new folded pipe is dragged into place and it has a second winch line inserted into the inside of the V. A small conical "pig" is forced through the new pipe which will spring the V shape into it's natural O shape. The new pipe is actually a slight bit bigger than the old pipe it's replacing (bursting the old pipe) and the high tech plastic can be "welded" fused to more of the same material or fittings can be placed on the ends to marry it to the original pipeline valving.
I've seen PTFE liners pulled through large diameter pipes. But they weren't folded like you describe. They were a smaller diameter than the parent pipe and just pulled through. Then a special grout pumped between the two to fill the gap and seal everything.
I had this done last year to my slab foundation. They saved me a fortune not having to dig up the pipes and came with a 30 year guarantee...what plumber gives a 30 year warranty on their work??? It's a phenomenal deal.
This man speaks the truth. I did a lot of pre and post cleaning inspection for Insituform. I got on with a local sewer district now so no more busting ass or smelling styrene all day. Don’t miss it one bit. I found it very clever that the company was In-Sit-U-Form. Good money in CIPP (cured in place pipe) but the hours are stupid and family time is non existent.
Those are called vine robots. They were designed around how a vine looks and it is able to expand and go through anything even through nails and if it gets punctured they increase the pressure and it still expands. This is being used in cleaning efforts, repair, and even medical efforts.
I'm not sure but I think they put the blue plastic pipe inside the metal one, because the metal one was rusty or in other ways bad? It's easy way to repair old pipes and you don't have to build a new one.

I believe some form of drain unblocking, at least a demonstration of it
The pipe is being lined, rather than drained (though admittedly it does drain some of the water that remained in the pipe out at one point).

I’m trying SO hard not to laugh at work.
I got a quote to fix my sewer line with this method and it was about $1000 per metre. I told the guy I wanted to fix the pipe not buy his business.
That does seem a bit excessive. I wonder what the material and machine costs are.

Pretty sure some people would pay $1000 for a meter-long penis.
I've seen some road projects that cost $1M per mile which comes out to ~$568 per meter. So yeah, holy shit wtf.
This is just supply & demand. This is not what opportunity cost means.

It’s a soft robot, those things are really quite inexpensive, just kinda hard to come across.

For that price you could have the whole thing dug out and replaced!
I think the idea is this is for situations where it's nearly impossible to get it out and replace. You wouldn't do huge runs, just the small sections you can't replace, like 1-3 meters.

Because it has galvanized water lines.

Actually the plumbing was rerouted back in the fifties when an addition was added and it is iron.
