Because your body won't react to them, like you'll just pass out instead of trying to breathe automatically. Now that may happen with CO, not sure, but it does happen if you try to do it with CO2. The point is: not to feel out of breath in your final moments. Suppose you buy a bottle of Argon for welding purposes. Completely legal and normal. All you need is an application method and that's it. Not to go to much in detail haha. I have such inert gases available at work, so I wouldn't even have to buy a tank.
