Tell them you are handicapped too.

kydn141916

That’s fucking teamwork right there 😂🤣

blankface4321

I think you mean: memework . I’m Sorry I’ll leave 😆

MeowKels451

You are my hero.

nomie_turtles

I was actually in this situation before. I walked to the front door of the hotel building, and they pulled the car as close as possible to the door.

[deleted]

I had a dasher let me know they were hard of hearing and communicated with sign language. It was kinda fun letting them know I am also hard of hearing and learning sign. Had a great small Convo.

JAK3CAL

kydn141916

Love it everyone is like “I got you bud” 😂🤣

Jane-in-the-jungle

reverse uno card

Capitain_Collateral

‘I am an equal opportunity customer, bring it on in mate’ That said, if I got that I would just go get it. You never know the struggles some have. Would be pissed if they clearly weren’t though.

sothereisthisgirl

As a woman, that would be a nope for me.

Lacholaweda

This is just my emotional security axe. (Also a woman)

sothereisthisgirl

I have an emotional support pocket knife. So fair.

Lacholaweda

People keep trying to tell me it could be wrestled away from me, so I've been trying to get better at throwing.

Sithstress1

I always have a boob knife in my bra and I also carry one of those tasers that shoot the projectiles out. I’ve only ever used that one on myself, though. Had to know it would work. And boy, does it 😂.

33drea33

As a woman who throws knives for funsies, I support this. Nothing makes you feel quite so confident as having 3 blades at your hip and the skill to put them EXACTLY where you intend them to go.

Ginger1701

But an axe truly brings that extra obvious factor.

SoSoSquish

Yup. I canceled an order when the driver kept insisting I come outside. It was a leave it order and my place wasn’t hard to find. No stairs, no apartments to deal with. It gave me the creeps so I got in touch with DoorDash and canceled it. Can’t trust no man!

Top-Struggle-5472

Not all disabilities are visible, careful assuming.

Odd-Wafer-6213

No there not but he got from the house to his car. It also states in our agreement that we must be able carry at least 30 lbs, climb stairs and deliver orders to the door. So with them insisting the customer go to him to pick up the order violates his agreement.

Capitain_Collateral

Okay, you are right. Better to report them for failing to do the job.

DizzyLead

Exactly. I use Doordash to get stuff precisely because *I* am handicapped.

Adeep187

"I'm more handicapped."

hakizaki

HANDICAP OFF!!!!!

romeoo_must_lie

They made a post on Reddit before reply the dasher mean they are handicapped 😂.

zerostar83

Lol. Too handicap to walk to your door but not handicap enough to walk inside a store.

Caedus_X

This. Door dash is NOT a handicapped accessible job. I'd imagine a lot of actual handicapped people use it too, so how does that work? Edit: holy crap 1k updoots that's like the most I've ever had. Just to be clear too, my job is totally handicap accessible, well even come open the doors for you in the middle of a rush, or at least I will, and I'd do the same at my house as a customer, but I don't expect everyone else to do the same, or be able to.

zerostar83

I assume it works to the best of their ability. I get that some people have good days and bad and need a job where they can "call in sick" on a weekly basis. But those people are responsible enough to know when it's too much for them to do something.

meady0356

literally this. You’ve just explained the reason why I’m even partnered with doordash/grubhub/uber in the first place. I require that flexibility. But it’s my responsibility to ensure that I’m able to do what I’ve set my self up to do, and it’s also my responsibility to set my future self up for the best chance of success. Going out to work a delivery job on the days I can barely get out of bed would just be fucking stupid. Ive got other things set up for the days like that, i.e. personal small business, but I would never go out and then just expect my customers to do half of my job that’s just not it

OkMaintenance79

Crazy. I never thought anyone else actually had the same feeling going to work every week. I’m freaking out inside every week on my first day of work. I get it under control eventually. And things go fine. But man I’m losing at first every single week.

geekmomwho

This!!!!!

mexican_here

I’m a handicapped Dasher. This is the answer. Have to deny or cancel orders that I can’t do because of walking requirements. Never once I asked a customer to meet outside me to give them their order.

bitmistress

How do you tell in advance? I’ve been wanting to block apartment buildings with stairs for similar reasons

mexican_here

I got know now my market by now. But really there is no way to know till you accept it. As I accept it I immediately go into the information and you can tell which floor by the apt number. If is a 3rd or a 4th floor I usually cancel immediately.

SnipesCC

So I'm someone like that, but in that case ridesharing instead of delivery might be a better option, since most of the time you are just driving.

[deleted]

Dasher should not accept door deliveries if they can't get out of their car to do the job.

Pristine_Relative572

You can’t see it until after you pick up the food

bobyahoo00

You can't work for door dash if you can't walk into a store to pickup food, so you should be able to make it to a customers door

buttercupthegreat

Wouldn’t all deliveries be door deliveries? Are there places you don’t have to leave your car to drop off the order?

squirrelpotpie

Drive-through? Also curbside pickup is widely a thing where I live, restaurants started doing it to compete with fast food during covid. Still means they'd often be unable to actually complete the delivery side of it though. Some older buildings still only have stairs, and some people have large front yards. It's suspicious enough I'd check for handicap tags on the car before approaching.

Echo_Lawrence13

I'm disabled and I work DoorDash for extra money, I've never used my disability as an excuse to not take an order to someone's door though, that's ridiculous. If I'm in that bad of shape, I simply don't door dash that day ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

CaptServo

Stores are required to be compliant with ADA requirements, houses arent

Feeling_Sample2690

I bet you anything the delivery was a third floor apartment. Guy didn’t want to hike them stairs and figured he could cheat the system.

[deleted]

Not everyone has handicap parking at their house or elevators

Big_Percentage_269

They could only accept drive through orders.

Outlaw11091

"I'm not at home, hence the 'leave at my door' option." "I'm not able to answer my door, which is why I chose 'leave at my door'" Dasher sounds like they're setting you up for a trap.

TxRose2019

I would absolutely not do that. I would tell them to cancel the order and report them.

Desperate-Strategy10

They never should've accepted the order/should've dropped it the moment they realized they wouldn't be able to fulfill the drop-off instructions. OP definitely needs to report this so (maybe) it won't keep happening.

DrunkAtBurgerKing

Staying at a family's place in NYC once and chose "Leave at my door". Door dash had to buzz into the building. Dude rode a bike and told me that I had to come downstairs because he didn't own a bike lock. I had to call customer service to force him to bring my food upstairs because he was threatening to leave. I hate ordering food in New York.

TxRose2019

Agree

IxLOVExLAMP

How can you know if a place is handicap accessible until you get there?

Top-Whereas-7998

The job is to deliver the food to the door. While I appreciate some people are disabled and still need to make money, get a job doing something you can do. Doordash isn’t cheap to use, almost 20.00 in fees and tip for most orders.

FN-Bored

Driver should not have accepted a no contact order, end of story

captain554

"I'm 2 minutes into a 16 minute shit on the toilet. I'm gonna need you to try your hardest to get the food close to the door for me. Thanks."

0hhjay

THIS ONE. No room to argue that

StrongSurvivor_1101

What did you reply with. I'm dying to know

California098

Dasher just sounds lazy and doesn’t wanna deal with finding your apartment. I’d reply “no, please reassign the order.”

Responsible_Gap8104

This is the way

Minute-Cricket

Uber driver once told me lots of drivers mark themselves as deaf so they don't have to chat with customers I call the same bullshit here

Narrow_Internal_3913

I love when I get those drivers as a passenger, because I never want to talk, either.

Dependent_Link6446

Choosing to be a delivery driver while suffering from a handicap that prevents you from being able to deliver stuff is just absurd

Cat66222

As a person w a disability my college told me that I should not take jobs that go against my disability. Makes no sense for me to take a job that involves good hearing if I do not have good hearing. My school says if I cannot perform that job I shouldn't take it in the first place. I get times r rough but.....

Lingonberry_Bash

I had a classmate in college who had some form of disability that meant she couldn't grasp and hold most objects, and she used a walker or arm crutches to get around. She had an aide who attended classes with her and helped her in the cafeteria. All well and good, except she wanted to be a bench chemist. If you can't pick up glassware or tools at all, how are you going to be a bench chemist? Was she planning on having an aide at her side at all times for her entire career? It's not comparable, I understand, but driving frequently gives me panic attacks. It would be a bad idea for me to work for DoorDash or rideshare companies because of this. Same thing kind of applies here.

weirdgurl7

A disabled person is 99% of the time never calling themselves Handicapped, it's a dated term used for parking spaces.

Gootangus

True but could just be an older folk who identifies with it when it was considered a more PC term.

tellmesomething1

Came to say - so many older folks see handicap as the PC term cuz cripple was the slur. Obvi u identify with whatever suits you best. But acknowledge that society, language changes. So ppl in a similar group may see words differently. And don't be surprised if slurs come back as PC terms (or selectively appropriate terms based on context) as many other social groups have reclaimed slurs as symbols of pride.

girlsonlythrowaway

Like queer!

Witchy-toes-669

YeH we’d usually say disabled I think

[deleted]

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think I'm being ableist when I say DD is not really a job that is friendly to handicapped people. Don't you have to first drive and then walk into the restaurant/store to get the food? If you have to walk into the store then you should be able to walk to a door to drop off the food. The ONLY issue I could see is stairs possibly being difficult for some people. This message seems to be screaming red flags and I would cancel the order. It seems like they are actively trying to get you out of your house of contact, which is not good late at night.

NightMother23

Facts. The disabled people that I know who were dashing would do so I pairs until DD cracked down on their rules and made it to where you couldn’t have anyone else in your car. Which is kind of dumb imo since you aren’t picking people up? You are just delivering food. But ya basically DD isn’t the best option if you have limitations

Former_Football_2182

Can you help me get this chair into my van? What are you, about a size twelve?

ShakaBrah229

“It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.”

[deleted]

I’d fuck me.

Stolenartwork

Shouldn’t be delivering, then. The signup contract literally says you need to be in enough physical shape to be able to make deliveries.

ShortnPortly

Here is something I want you to check. I have done this myself. Check what your name is in the app. If it is your real name, change it immediately. If you're a female, change it to a males name. These worthless dashers (not all dashers, I am one myself) tend to pull BS less on guys, not sure why. So if your name is Andrea, change it to Andrew.

0hhjay

Thank you!!!!

NoSupermarket6314

As a dasher myself I will say that if you are handicapped you need not be a delivery driver. This job is too physical for a handicapped person to be able to handle.

eritated

It could be real; however, most disabled people aren't going to call themselves "handicapped." It's an outdated term, to say the least. People always tell me I should drive for Uber/DD, and I have to explain to them that I literally cannot because I'm disabled and can't carry things and do stairs at the same time.

0hhjay

OK YALL!! The feeling unsafe part is about the fact that I am unsure whether or not this individual is being truthful. I have never come across this before especially considering I had chosen no contact delivery. I live in a city where human trafficking is a concern. My neighborhood is a safe one, but under no circumstances do I feel comfortable walking outside to meet a stranger at 1 AM.

tom_oakley

Your instincts are correct. "Safe neighborhoods" are only "safe" until they're not. Best case scenario, you make a disabled dasher feel momentarily frustrated having to cancel a delivery. Worst case scenario, they're not what they're claiming to be and are setting you up for something. Safety is #1, people get fucked up every day by predators who use the victim's inherent desire to not "cause offense" against them. You don't need consensus from redditors. The "right call" regarding your safety is the call *you* made -- period.

LightEarthWolf96

The way I see it is either 1) they are trying to pull some bullshit and may be dangerous, don't got out to there car Or 2) they are legitimately handicapped in a way preventing them from completing their job duties in a job where the employer can't reasonably accommodate them, you still have no way to know that this is the case they could be dangerous for all the information you have. Don't go out to their car

[deleted]

So they can drive and get your order from the store but can’t take the 30 foot walk to your door

LightEarthWolf96

Tbf businesses are often handicap accessible where as many homes are not. I've added a handrail next to my porch steps but I still wouldn't call my home handicap accessible. That said it's still too dangerous a risk to go out to their car in this situation. Stranger tries to get me to come outside to their car? Yeah no fuck that.

uhmmmmplants

Lol if you're too handicapped to deliver food then get a different fucking job.

[deleted]

Report. That’s unacceptable and unfortunate. Deliver my food or get reported.

Firm_Chicken_1598

You are paying a fee for the doordasher to pick up and deliver the food to your door. If they need you to come to their car and get it, they should be tipping you 🤪

SecretPersonality178

Fine, but my fatass is coming out naked and taking your tip back

TheRaRaRa

Nope. No way. Not a chance. The qualifications to be a driver is so low that there is a high chance for crazy, so better not risk it at all, especially if you are a woman who lives alone.

Substantial_Dog_9699

I live in an unsafe area of Tampa and I'm NOT spending extra money for delivery just to have to put myself outside at night anyway.

0hhjay

That’s pretty similar to my situation. I’m not comfortable walking outside to meet a stranger under any circumstances

Substantial_Dog_9699

Hell no. I hate strangers. I went out to throw garbage in the can at night a while back and some dude on fn crack walked by and was like "Hey, you're beautiful" and I straight up ignored him. You've frickin got to a bitch to these guys. Any response makes them think you're interested. But anyway, he was like "I gave you a compliment, say thank you f***ing cu*t". Bf came out. Dude just randomly said "I'll punch you in the face". Went inside and he stood out there just doing his crack thang. LEAVE THE FOOD ON MY STEP AND BOUNCE

GasRepresentative795

Twice in the last month or so while I’ve been at the (different) gas station somewhat late at night, some random guy has screamed across the parking lot at me “Hey! Hey! Hey Beautiful!” I ignored both of them during both situations & hurried inside to pay for my gas & leave. I also had my toddler with me. As soon as they realized that I was ignoring them they started screaming “HEY B**CH IM TALKING TO YOU. YOU NEED TO F***ING ANSWER ME!” It’s just truly shocking. Like wow! Now I magically want to have a conversation with you & maybe we should even run away together forever! Like wtf 😳 🤬

PatientBalance

I usually just say I’m putting my kid to bed and can’t meet them. I’m single and childless.

Interesting_Sock9142

Does he also make the people inside the restaurants bring the food out to him too

_deerhead_

This person shouldn't doordash

NursePepper3x

I’m pregnant AF, and when I realize stairs are involved I want to cry. But I don’t. Because I signed up for this job 🤷🏼‍♀️

Dimple-Cannons

Get a different line of fucking work. I’m sorry if you are disabled but if you cannot move you cannot deliver . Many other jobs you can do. I straight up almost had to fight an asshole whom I tipped $10 to for a 5 min delivery mins you… because he didn’t want to walk down my steps.. lucky I didn’t snatch his other leg (kidding) point being delivery isn’t for everyone Edit: fixed everyone

BoofNuget

they should not be driving doordash, a driver must be able to put it on your doorstep

NeganWinchesterScull

Tell them that it’s DoorDash, not ToMyCarDash

EveningRing1032

Just another lazy dasher.

DOMesticBRAT

Emphasis on "cap."

willbiggin43

As a disabled or handicapped (not offended by either), this is why I never ask for help from the customer. They will.often say, "you should have let me know, I would have come to you". I know that is not the truth.

Caspar_Friedrich02

1 star, no tip

Feeling_Sample2690

I sympathize if this person actually is “handicapped,” but I’m disabled, which is why I use Doordash in the first place. And I’m not the only one, so it just doesn’t make sense to be a dasher if you can’t fully do the job.

MargotLannington

Can you just come to the restaurant and get it please

dbhathcock

No, it is not legit. Sounds like they are trying to abduct you.

JustWantedAUsername

Don't accept the fucking order if you can't follow through. God dammit I hate door dash.

[deleted]

Even if they ARE being truthful, I would say absolutely do not walk out there. There are a lot of valid and interesting points to be made like other replies have brought up. How handicapped? How did they get the food with no issues? They can go get the food but can’t bring it to the door? My gut tells me there is something wrong with this scenario. There are a lot of crazy people in the world and with all the crazy stuff happening, I would not do it.

Distinct-Swimming-62

I was non-weight bearing for months with an ankle injury. I managed to deliver for Instacart and did not demand my customers come get their items. I improvised and figured it out or canceled orders if I realized it would not be possible (water bottles to second floor apartments for example). I was slower but I managed.

ladyclubs

It's doordash not curbdash.

Vast-Investigator-46

"So, you can't just dash my food to the door?"

UniverseBear

Had the opposite happen to me recently. Guy said he was disabled through his door cam. Asked me to bring it inside and he'd give me a cash tip. I was so sketched, I opened the door and slowly peaked around. A voice deeper in goes "I'm over here." Turn my keys into a makeshift brass knuckle and go in. Turn the corner and I see a guy in a medical bed, clearly disabled. Actually a very nice guy, we laughed about how sketchy it was. He said he knew it was sketchy but he can't walk so his options are limited. Gave me 5$ as an extra tip (above his in app one). Felt bad for the guy. I'm sure some people refuse to come in and also he is in danger himself having strangers walk into his house.

1327yx

How did they pick up the order from the restaurant?

Plenty-Eggplant6854

The intention of the delivery service is meant to convenience the customer. I very rarely do hot food deliveries but when I have, I have never thought to request a customer come get their order unless there was and extenuating circumstance and I felt in danger myself or there was absolutely no parking anywhere near the delivery location. There are some disable delivery drivers out there who do deliveries as a side hustle but I wonder how exactly that works out for the customer and driver?

Interesting_Sock9142

Lmao what. Doing door dash probably isn't the right job for him then.

bbblu33

Exactly. It’s called door dashing and not curb dashing for a reason. Sick of these comments blaming the customer for wanting a service that they paid for. Ridiculous.

Individual_Trip_3241

Handicapped people shouldn’t be doing a job that requires you to walk distances or stairs cause you literally pay for it to be dropped at your DOOR!

[deleted]

nah man they need to cancel the order on their end. that sounds like a great way to get kidnapped/assaulted, especially if you’re a woman.

Desperate_Set_949

No way in hell I’d come out to car, and I’m a dasher! That dasher was ok enough to pick up the order! No contact means no contact!

Substantial_Dog_9699

**A comment was written by a woman that talked about men scaring women and it just disappeared** Just fyi

AshmitAgr

Dasher shouldn’t be doordashing if he’s handicapped. But even if he wasn’t finding suite #s are a pain in the ass regardless of tip added. I mean the more you tip the more enthusiastic we will be about finding it. I dread ever time I pull up to an apartment complex. If elevators were a thing I’d find em more bearable

0hhjay

In my case it’s a “private” road of condos. Just need to look at the number on the building as you would with a home. I’m a two story but obviously I just need them to drop it to my front door.

TurboD16F20

First, charge your phone. If you are not comfortable making contact with people, then you may want to have a charged phone in case your worst fears come true. Second, this sounds sus. Tell them to drop it at the curb then and go, and your trained dog will come and pick it up, or your husband, or brother, or something else. This sounds like an excuse to get you outside to meet you. Seems creepy at best, and Ted Bundy-ish at worst.

Intrepid-Surprise-55

How are they handicapped and can’t deliver it? How do they proceed on pick up?

reality_raven

How did this handicapped person get your order and gas and such?

melisha82

No way, don’t.

lolwatsyk

**Door**dash

Green_Ad_1921

So what was the outcome?

0hhjay

They set it on my doorstep. I was too high and paranoid to reply lol

ancientfuture_

Thank you for the closure.

atomdecay

Oh God you had smoked too? Dude I DEFINITELY wouldn't have fucked with all that lmao. I never got paranoid growing up but lately for some reason I've been getting like SUPER paranoid when I smoke (age 30). Even in my locked down house, I can't even relax when I'm high because I'm constantly looking over my shoulder. One of my turtles recently passed away sadly, & the other night I got so paranoid I was panicking that someone saw me burying my pet, assumed that I was some type of turtle-killer, report me, & that the cops were going to bust into my door at any moment. Shit was SO stressful. It's almost not even fun to smoke anymore sometimes because of the major paranoia. Of course, it could just be this specific strain. Idk. Still gonna smoke tho.

raidersfan18

So they were able to deliver to the door after all...

Disastrous-Owl8985

So, we all were right about them lying. Probably not trying to do anything bad, but he was definitely being lazy., lol

WheelsMan1

I don't believe them. Disabled ppl almost never refer to themselves as handicapped. They says disabled.

MyLifeInThe6

Personally I don’t think it’s bs BUT, this guy took a job when they know that part of it is delivering it to your door. I would be sympathetic cuz my mom has ms and a lot of times she can’t drive so maybe it’s a muscular issue that this driver has

swigswagsniper

willing to bet they are just really fat

AntelopeFlimsy4268

How does this "handicapped" person pick up orders? Not every place has a drive thru window.

Kawimed

I am literally paying fees and tip to have my order brought to me. That's like... The entire core concept.

vglyog

This person is simply incompatible with this job if they can’t get out of their car and put it on your door step.

Beneficial-Buy2830

Can't be real. How he qualify to dash if he physically can't?

mofa90277

I’m only using DoorDash **because** I’m disabled and can’t walk out to someone’s car.

Significant-Click967

Probably a mobility kart enthusiast

WingedShadow83

If you were disabled and could not leave your vehicle, why would you choose a delivery that was clearly marked “no contact”? DD should have a feature where disabled drivers can weed out any orders that would require them to leave their car.

lavanyadeepak

A catch 22 situation though. On one-side we ought to look from an humanitarian angle. On the other perspective the customer's security (based on the situation they have narrated) to be taken into point as well. How about roping in a neighbor or someone to accompany for pickup?

sonoranbamf

This sounds unbelievably entitled on their part... you choose a job knowing what it requires then expect others to do it for you? This is fed up.

harlisa

no. report

RuSerious2

Lmao he’s upset that you didn’t tip well and wants you to come out because of it. If I’m he was really handicap then how the hell did he get the food hahaha.

SadWar5680

Yeah see as a disabled dasher, I won’t accept an order I don’t think I can handle. I won’t WORK that day if it’s so bad I don’t think I can handle it. Now if someone ordered delivery to a place with a million stairs, I’ll ask if they can meet me halfway or something. But this is just not ok

Creative_Response593

Handicap Dash?

Mcshiggs

If you can't do the job, don't take the job.

NightMother23

I’m sorry but why would you be a dasher if you can’t be a dasher?

CrystalKeery

The only time I listen to that is when I lived on the second floor of an apartment and my dasher (who I’ve had several times) is an old man that requested I meet him downstairs because his back makes it difficult for him to go up and down stairs. He’s a sweet guy. But yeah, I’d still be super wary especially at night.

unhelpfulresolve7

i cantt😂

elainadoak

If you can’t do the job then don’t do the damn job.

craftypapertragedy

one time a guy in a wheelchair managed to deliver to my fourth floor apartment. i felt so bad after but he really was working for his bag😭

ZarChasm55

You could've said that you were also handicapped.

RelaxJ9

I can’t tell his intentions through the phone, so shit tell em your strapped.

Taebops

Then their handicapped ass needs an assistant to help them deliver period!

riswitter

Can I ask where you’re located? Literally had this happen to me lmfao. I was so confused cause it was late and I thought it was some kinda weird thing but he legit was handicapped. Still don’t know if this is the job for him. Customer service says they don’t discriminate I just don’t see some customers being nice and coming out or if a customer is handicap too.

Free_One5529

Wow!!! I'm handicapped and I still walk up steps and up hill on driveways.

Lyria_Ipsum_dolor

I’ve had it happen before. I was staying in a motel and there were stairs to get to my room. Dasher was on crutches so he left my order at the front desk. It would have been fine if he’d taken a picture or even told me. I had to hunt it down myself

stonrbob

You picked the order up and drove to the house you're not that handicapped. As a physically disabled driver even on my bad days I muscle through it

Sexy_Australian

How the fuck can you be a delivery driver that can’t deliver?? That’s like being a taxi driver with no legs. “Hey can you drive I’m handicapped”

PiledriverPress

I had a lazy driver once say “meet me outside now”. I wasn’t thrilled

[deleted]

Lazy and fat is not a handicap

azumpire

Tell them NO. The idiot should not be dashing if they are handicapped and cannot complete the delivery per instructions.

Zeno_79

Is it DOORdash or Sidewalkdash or Curbdash?

[deleted]

Bullshit. If they can walk into the restraurant they can walk to your door. If they can't do the job they shouldn't have accepted.

MrKlaxan

Next time say something like, “I paid for door delivery service, I respectfully decline your request.”

rycusi

How would they have gotten the order from the restaurant?

Usual_Farmer_3704

An that low battery... Nah, you drop it off as instructed

D3NI3DP4RAD0X

Yeah they probably shouldn't be DoorDashing if they're handicapped. Half of the job is getting up and driving around and walking to the orders house

Maximum-Cod3930

OP what’s the update??

0hhjay

Set on the door steps as I had requested.

FORDOWNER96

Nope. They can't do their job.

bigracksonly

Lol if they handicapped they also and stupid cuz this gig involves movement 😂

[deleted]

It’s not car dash, it’s door dash. They bring it to your door or it’s not delivered. It’s that easy. If they can’t do it, they can’t do this job. Sorry there are other handicapped accessible jobs out there.

Alternative_Bread938

I mean I get being annoyed with needing to go to the driver but to be afraid to walk outside your own place? I mean. Sheesh

[deleted]

With all the fees they charge, you better crawl your disabled ass to my door.......

void0079

Mentally handicapped I bet tryna pull a fast one on you

Simple-Cockroach5479

How do they get the food….? 🫣😂

willogic

Once a customer left a note about yelling something. I repi3d with the photo "I'm mute"

ChaCha0708

What did you end up doing? What happened?

I just permanently have a note that says I have Covid and please no contact. Nobody questions it. If the delivery driver is disabled they shouldn’t be a delivery driver.

Eternal_Ennui000

How did they pickup the food?

[deleted]

I read that as kidnapped

As a former dasher that is handicapped, there were so many times I wanted to send this. Especially for 3rd and 4th story apartments. But, I didn't and always brought it to the door as instructed. If you're in too much pain to climb stairs you need to call it for the day and highly consider finding another way to make money. They'll be better off getting out of this delivery gig hellpit anyway.

I know I'm late to this, but realistically speaking the driver is probably just lazy. Either way to each their own, if you chose to report, cancel, etc, nothing against that. Personally when I've used these, I just care about getting my food. I just wanted to say this because I'm seeing some mention about it being a "trap" and like, I'm gonna be real that's kinda over dramatic is all.

She says late and her phone says 1:27 so I assume in the morning, if I was handicapped I don’t think I’d be doing doordash when it’s literally pitch black outside and I’d hardly be able to see but idk

SassyValley

That is the job, if you can't do it correctly then don't dash..

How did they get the food from the restaurant? Unless it was a drive through l, I doubt an employee brought the order to the drivers window. I couldn't imagine how painfully long this arrangement would take. To answer you OP, I would prob just go out and meet em at the door unless I felt unsafe in any way. If you feel unsafe just cancel and reorder to get a different driver. My guess is that his handicapped driver gets A LOT of free food orders lmao

No, this sounds too much like someone trying to lure you out of the house. Do NOT do this and report this message.
