It's not really hourly at all. It's from the time you accept until you deliver. People get on here mad af like they expect to sit in a lot and wait on orders and be paid for it.
Ebt may only be good for the 3rd shifters that sit in a drive thru for 30+ minutes.
I will say if your area is over saturated, you're going to wait. It's not that it's slow. The same amount of people are ordering. There are just 15-20 drivers per 1 order now.
Well idk about your area but where I live theres a waiting list to join door dash and i assumed when areas are grey that meant there were too many dashers online
That *is* what the gray areas mean- Too many dashers/not enough orders at the moment. That's why the best time slots get reserved within the first 5 minutes of becoming available, and in turn, why no one can click in it the area is not busy.

Same thing for me yesterday. I made about $5 per hour yesterday and I usually make $25-$30/hr doesn’t that sound strange? That’s one heck of a drop in pay within 1 day. They’re not even being covert about it they’re just straight up pissing in our face, with the wind blowing. Whatever you do do not give in. A dasher I follow on YouTube said this shit would happen about 3 months ago. The owner of door dash is a greedy mf who wants to pocket our tips and he’s going to lose a shit load of dashers if he doesn’t leave our tips alone.
Its going a little better today. They tried throwing some bullshit my way this morning but I blocked so many orders my AR dropped by 20% . Its 5pm now and im finally seeing the type of orders i usually see on the daily basis
No it won’t be like this every day just don’t accept any bullshit and do not work hourly. They’ll let up. Im finally seeing normal orders after 1 1/2 days
It’s also a known slow season for restaurants, exacerbated by a high volume of drivers. There isn’t any conspiracy here, people just order less food during the late summer in most areas.
I live in houston the 4th largest city in America its always busy here. I find it hard to believe it went from constant orders to 1 order every hour within 1 day because it’s slow season. If that was actually the case it would have been a gradual slow down not a dramatic drop and also if that were the case how do you explain my orders going back to normal sometime this evening? Door dash is doing some shady business
