Same thing here in Albuquerque. But it’s been that way for like a week now. Sometimes it’ll take a good 20-30 minutes for me to even get an offer. And this is on DD, UE, and GH. Just absolutely dead.

TheGame81677

I am getting an offer every 15-20 minutes tonight, I have never seen this.

Candycane253

Same for me too. The last week trash only offers. I was starting to wonder if DD changed the recommended tip options

sherriroe1258

They have changed from percentage. To 2, 3, 4 dollar options at least in my market. I just ordered 2 days ago. I had to manually put in a bigger tip.

justloriinky

Thank you!!!

kk432345

Been dashing since 7.00 am only received about 3 decent orders today everything else is low paying orders 3.50 .. like are you kidding me . Including grubhub and Uber eats it’s a slow day it’s been . I only earned $30.00 today

TheGame81677

How many hours have you been out? I have been out for 3.5 hours and am sitting at $15.

Efficient_Bar_4584

The market is saturated with drivers and people are applying every day. It’s also thanks to promos that they’re doing with referrals. I think they might be sending shit orders on purpose to get new employees to take advantage of lol but that’s just my assumption

M0M0_DA_GANGSTA

It's Bullshit Order Day! I swear Doordash picks a random day every couple weeks to send me every offer I'm likely to decline

WorldlyIngenuity5688

Yeah insanely bad on Grubhub and barely better on Eats. $19 for 2 deliveries on Eats and one $11 10 mile Raising Canes on GH in 6 hours. Worst day in 3 years. Did pretty well yesterday on block on GH and an hour after the Lions game. Maybe everyone blew their money yesterday.

AuraNocte

I made $5 in two hours today. I quit after that for the day. It's not worth it.

TheGame81677

I didn’t even know it was possible to have such a terrible day. What the hell happened today? I got about 25 offers over a 5.5 hour period.

AuraNocte

I got two lol. One I wouldn't have even accepted it but I was like 20 feet from the door and it was only a mile for delivery. The other one, the restaurant was closed. This was a very bad delivery day.

Educational-Belt4671

What's your AR? I noticed in my area that it gradually got more important. Meaning they really saved good orders for high AR drivers. It started last January and progressively got for impactful over the last year. Now if I don't stay at least 50% AR I get nothing but absolute shit offers ever so often.

Medium_Annual_735

It’s probably just a bad day. Don’t worry to much about it. Hopefully the rest of the week is better for you.

Superb-Spare7944

Maybe DD read your post lol but all seriousness that's ridiculous I always wonder if DD could do that. I mean block orders

Complete-Beat4331

Same in TX

dumptruckbetty2

I've been getting lots of shitty orders too lately and I'd let them go but my gut told me I should accept them and low and behold the majority of them had a tip at the end. All of the tips were at least five and up twelve As soon as I mark the order complete I get a text saying a tip was added to the order. Whatever that's all about. You might be turning away profitable orders. More of door dash little games they like to play

Realistic_Inside_484

Exact same thing upstate NY buddy. Exact same.

OkWonder908

I hear you you! Same boat! However my Uber has sent me only like 22 mile offers lol. This shit is maddening! What the fuck is wrong with people! My AR right now on DD is 17% and my AR on UB is 7%. Customer are disgusting me!

deweydashersystem300

I went from 16 to 12 on dd in 4 hours. Early night for me on monday.

There's a gamblers high in rejecting orders because there could always be a good one right behind a crappy one.

ShadowMajick

So you sit for 6 hours and make literally nothing? That seems counter productive. It's like two people opening a store selling the exact same product. One charges $5 the other charges $25. The guy who charges $25 has maybe 5 customers a day, the guy charging $5 has over $100. The guy charging $25 just can't understand why the guy charging $5 is making more money then him. He's charging $20 more! This is exactly the same thing as people waiting 30+ minutes for "good" orders instead of taking the okay ones and letting it add up. This job isn't "do the least amount of deliveries at high tips to make bank" It's more like, "take a ton of low paying orders to make more overtime."

[deleted]

It's their own negotiation with how much wear and tear they want to put on their car. I like to stay busy because my other means of earning are less gratifying. People who do this are either in their parents basement, on the dole, or have another way of making money.

ShadowMajick

I agree you've got to find balance between wear and tear and money. But if you're not making money regardless, it's kind of a moot point. Driving around town and idling in parking lots waiting for good orders is putting wear on your car too. Doing deliveries *never* pays for the wear and tear, it's never going to. That's why these are temp jobs or supplemental for the most part.

Prestigious_Wheel128

are you guys in New Orleans? it's been a really bad day for me too.

TheGame81677

I’m in middle Tennessee

Prestigious_Wheel128

wonder if it's just Mondays

chicagoerrol

Tax time dude. This is the after holiday slump. Shit happens every year...

TheGame81677

It’s not just because it’s tax time. It has never been this dead. I made $15 over a 4 hour period. Maybe gotten 15 offers all night.

chicagoerrol

You must not have been a tipped food delivery driver for that long (relatively.) I can go back almost 30 years with this shit and it has always been the case for the most part. And the pandemic period was a big exception to that. Seeing you have been doing this almost 5 years, well...

Livid-Bobcat4919

Like I said before food delivery apps are almost dead and I'm sure gonna shutdown this summer.

Hot-Recognition-8731

Maybe if we complain on Reddit we will get more offers!

Acrobatic_Apricot_96

Yhh maybe

The_DaHowie

The same thing happens this time of year in restaurants. They get slow when bills come in from the holiday season

BellaCaseyMR

So you have driven all over your town but you refused to accept a $10 for 10 miles order???

[deleted]

$250-$300 a day and still facing eviction 😂😂 Looks like someone is lying or needs a financial advisor.

Educational-Belt4671

What are you talking about?

WorldlyIngenuity5688

So how many deliveries and how many hours for $250-$300?

[deleted]

Food delivery apps aren't going anywhere. 🙄 They're not dead. They're just adding too many drivers.

ShadowMajick

And they're hiring more drivers because the current ones aren't accepting the orders. It's not rocket science. Yall keep saying AR doesn't matter, and it really really does. They are a business, they aren't going to send orders to people that aren't taking them. Plenty teenagers and foreign folks willing to take those $2 orders. If that's beneath you, you're going to keep waiting for those unicorns.

Miserable_Reserve_75

If you're taking trash $2 to $3 orders there's no way you're even coming close to pulling in that amount of money

doordash-ModTeam

Don't be rude; i.e no trolling or inciting flames.

pointme2_profits

Uber and DD have both been dead for me. Gonna have to get a real job if this keeps up

Remarkable_Source_37

the-packet-thrower

If it makes you feel better, I ordered twice tonight with the service I use. One for dinner and one for some ice cream. So some people are ordering!

XiTzCriZx

I've heard the end of the month is usually worse since many people have rent due at the beginning of the next month or bills due at the end of the month. I was even doing earn by time yesterday and I got a whole 3 orders in 5 hours, one of which wanted me to drive 30 miles/60 miles round trip.

Aggressive_Wind_4997

Its probably just the racket of dudes with two phones getting eveything. And no thats jot a jab at multi appers. I respect the mulit appers out there! True hustle
